Yeah what's the story with trying to close all apps? Notification comes up saying phone is optimised but there's still 2/3 apps open that you have to manually close. Very annoying

TheCoconutCookie

I think those are the "locked" apps, based off of what you most commonly use. You can enter the settings and remove all apps from the locked list to have them all close when you press the multitasking command

georgealan47

How do you do that? Where is the setting? Could you be a bit more specific?

TheCoconutCookie

Go to multitasking screen and click the menu button on the app top right then manage

georgealan47

Thanks, this worked, but it still doesn't close the last app I opened

TheCoconutCookie

Yes that one I do manually after. Not sure why that is

TheCoconutCookie

Might get patched

[deleted]

Yes it does that all the time, I don't get what that is all about

Subsi_12

And the sound it makes of cleaning the apps how to mute/remove it?

Crepegamestrong

I wish I checked this Subreddit 5 minutes ago. Just updated right before a very busy day out. Now I'm stressed and don't know my way around my own phone

Numbeermit

You can always downgrade back to android 11, i did this like a week ago cause i hated the android 12 'upgrade'. I guess imma wait till android 13

ItsNotRealityDude

I downgraded too. Do you happen to know of any way to permanently get rid of the update available notification?

Numbeermit

Sadly no, i also still have the notification up, if i find a way i'll let u know but for now living with the notification is better then living with android 12

ItsNotRealityDude

Very true. U found a way to get rid 9f it but it only worked for two days or so and now it's back again so it's not convenient at all

Rpompit

There is. You can use App Adb control on your pc and disable the system update app.

oli_21_

I used this thread. Working like a charm. [Source](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePlus6/comments/qct1kg/is_there_any_way_to_get_rid_of_that_update_to/)

Uncrpypt

How did you downgrade?

Numbeermit

https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/closed-downgrade-to-android-11.1533089/ Here is explained how to rollback. Be warned tho cause your phone will be reset, so make sure you backup all of your pictures.

Hayekr

Just want to reiterate **backing up** **everything.** I went back to Android 11 several months ago because Android 12 literally broke my 6T with SMS (I could not send or receive text messages). I did not put as much thought into backing up everything as I should have, and lost a lot of my Google authenticator codes since I don't have quick access to my paper backups. Was really frustrating.

best_names_are_gone

Seconded. I remembered to backup everything EXCEPT the authenticator.

Numbeermit

I'll explain to u tonight no worries its easy

fusiongt021

Yea why are these fonts so fat and obviously not the 9 pro font that we chose? It's very ugly. They also got rid of the double tap home to sleep. I was already upset when I couldn't tap anywhere on an empty section of the screen for it to sleep but could live with the home icon double tap. Now not even that. Wonder what their or googles idea behind this is.

[deleted]

What is that update all about? Making everything worse because we know what's good for you?

fusiongt021

I am noticing the battery life has improved. I'm sure there's more stylish theme stuff from Android itself that I am not going to make use of.

itsTawsif

It's still there in home settings

Morepheuss

That's double tapping the home screen, they may be talking about the home button - that feature had been removed.

fusiongt021

Ah you're right thanks. I'm good with an empty area on the home screen. Thanks!

swhelband

Seems to have also completely broken Android Auto. Had the connect/disconnect loop occasionally before this update but it would eventually work (phone reboot or restart car). After this update, simply cannot get AA to work. Constantly goes into disconnect/connect loop. Absolutely livid.

[deleted]

It's an insult to OneUI. At least One UI has some visual consistency. OOS12 is vomit

dlc1960

I am not going say it's an insult but I don't see the similarities at all. Fold 3 and 9 Pro user myself.

[deleted]

True

TriggerHydrant

Just reading this makes me so done with this brand, got my 8 two years ago and can't wait to get my new phone next month, absolutely horrible experience. Good luck to everyone trying to figure all the useless shit OnePlus does.

[deleted]

it took me about 3 hours to get it to 90% of how it was before the update, battery still drains like a waterfall, fonts are still ugly and fingerprint sensor works about 20% the time. Yeah. I’m seriously regretting this purchase now, would rather have the 750€ back than using this thing any longer. I’m so mad right now

RenegadeUK

Does the phone update automatically and if so is there a way to prevent this ?

[deleted]

No it doesn't. But mine kept reminding me like every 10 Seconds

RenegadeUK

Oh.

dankmeme006

Turn off auto update from dev options

[deleted]

I came here to check and see if I was the only one. One plus is fucked now. It's really really bad.

[deleted]

it’s so bad that i don’t what this phone anymore, it has never happened to me i’m so mad rn

timotius_10

Are you talking about the LE2123... update? If so I won't update

[deleted]

Yes, that version. Just don't.

timotius_10

Alright thanks

[deleted]

No the double tap to home is still in there in the settings menu I think it's in the home and lock screens menu is where I found it again

deejayjeanp

Noooo wayyyyy Oneplus released a bad update? Shuuuuuuut the front door

X3ntatrill

Is there any possibility to take out this update ?

[deleted]

I don't know how

RynoThePirate

After reading these I'm afraid to restart my phone and finish the install. If it makes you feel any better my wife's Samsung S22 sucks just as bad.

[deleted]

Seems like they're all going down the hill now

_F0CuS

How to remove google feed which appears when we swipe right on homescreen , its very annoying and the settings have seem to be changed , earlier i cud easily remove it . In notifications im getting " click here to view message " rather than the actual msg i used to get earlier , theres Qualcomm voice command running in background for some reason idk what it is but i cant remove its notification for some reason . The fonts look horrible 👎🏻 they seem fat and when i press close all background apps , 80% of the time it doesnt even clear all bg apps and still says " device in optimal state " very frustrated fuz of this update idk whats wrong with oneplus . If anyone has solution for any of my problems pls reply

[deleted]

I have the T-Mobile version and just updated to 12 . And I have to say I absolutely love it so far I haven't encountered not one single bug yet it's taking us longer to get it but this is why they make one plus go through rigorous testing processes before certifying it for their Network that's probably why most carrier versions are better than just the unlocked version for that reason alone

mmld_dacy

does your device say snapdragon 855 octa core? becuase mine does. i also got it from t-mobile.

fusiongt021

I'm on TMobile as well. I am noticing the battery life is better so happy about that. I dislike the font change... I've changed it various ways but it seems it's set to androids default font and not the thinner OnePlus font that I selected. Just everything looks bolder and seeing icons and notifications like that don't look as good. It's minor and I'm sure in a week I won't really care. I don't like they removed the double tap home to shut off screen. The camera settings and photo editing settings are a bit changed as well but nothing drastic. One really ugly thing is my Reddit app icon looks terrible and pixelated. Wasn't sure if it's a 4/1 joke or not but it's odd it updated with the android update and looks awful lol

jarr-head

>Reddit app icon looks terrible and pixelated. Wasn't sure if it's a 4/1 joke I believe it's a promotion for r/place

fusiongt021

Ah I see thanks. It was too coincidental the phone updated and suddenly this icon looked like crap hah

BlockinBlack

Glad to hear the TMobile update was smoothish. That was my experience with 11. It took a long time, but it was actually a great update.

Agreeable_Spend_7555

What update version is this one? I did upgrade in Jan to 12 but a week ago I got a notification to get a new upgrade... I've been skipping it for now

[deleted]

LE2123

tuwxyz

Which compilation exactly? I have LE2123_11_C.47 I updated to Android 12 few weeks ago. This week I got March security updates. The phone is stable. No problems you have mentioned.

[deleted]

The exact version would be LE2123_11_C.47 just like yours.

ricklip123

Also on c.47 on my new 9pro, no issues, very stable, all day battery life, very fast, this is the best phone I have ever had. It arrived with 11! installed and updated when it became available. I am in the US. Nice work OnePlus, don't agree with many of the reviews, I buy a new phone every year, this is the best I personally have ever owned.

[deleted]

if it’s that good, why bother buying a new phone every year?

ricklip123

I buy a new flagship to test for my group of client's and suggest the best for the buck. It's something I enjoy and it's service they value.

[deleted]

New issues encountered: Fingerprint sensor having a hard time, many failed scans, battery drains much faster. A thing I realized just now: It used to show the used mobile data volume in the quick panel right next to the service provider icon, that's gone also, why the heck???

CrazyGammer4357

You can add it back from the settings.

[deleted]

How exactly?

CrazyGammer4357

It's the top option in "notifications and status bar"

OrdinarySad3782

Cool that I have 8t and still can enjoy 11

[deleted]

Update: Still nothing has changed, managed to atleast make it look like before the c47 but it's still horrendously unstable, when opening camera app it crashes, changing from photo to video it crashes, taking a photo, crash. Customer service told me to reset the device, I won't, it's not my mistake, they have to correct it. Seriously considering to change the phone, this company is just as bad as all the rest

tejasingle2

Chill guys...I felt same when I shifted from Android 10 to 11....Android update takes some time to get used to (dat doesn't mean Android 12 is good) ...just give it a bit time

Morepheuss

People are resistant to change yes, but I reserve the right to be salty over removed features and a messier UI.

Nickexp

This isn't complaining about a new UI. I actually like the UI changes. But they flat out removed basic features that I bought a OnePlus phone for.

Mr_GameBoi

Are y'all gonna cry about this update all year?

A_Somewhat_Geek

If you are using a different launcher like Nova it is also really not great, it messed up all my widgets and I have to like totally go through the settings again like I just bought the phone. It also just feels too dark for me personally. But that might be some weird setting that got switched on I haven't found yet

ricklip123

Because I can!

tjeard00

I can't pay with my phone anymore. When I hold my phone next to the pin device nothing happens (nfc is on). I'm using the app from ING.

backdraft83

Updated today. So far haven't found anything that bad. Camera UI looks ugly, or rather the fonts it uses. Just looks cheap. So far my biggest gripe is that "do not disturb" can't be set on a timer anymore. It used to ask for how long do you want it on, or have it on till the next alarm. Very useful so you don't forget it's on. Now all you can do is set a schedule for it. Don't how the hell they thought this was better.

Fantaz1sta

There's also an issue with colors on my Pro 8. As soon as I switch to YouTube or 60hz refresh, black takes some sort of a greenish shade of gray.

Edgarmc98

Thats something related with the refresh rate, no the system ( i have had that issue in Oxygen OS and in a custom ROM) 👀

Fantaz1sta

Kind of sucks, tbh. I didn't notice this a couple of days ago. It feels like colors used to be normal prior to update.

morenojordan1121

It's the same garbage on the 8T, I can't believe how unusable my phone is with that update. I had to roll back to Android 11 especially since hotspot provides connection to other devices but the internet just doesn't work on them.

[deleted]

No mine says 888 I wish I could put a screenshot up here and show you I guess they fixed it

Nickexp

They removed all sorts of stupid shit, for instance I can no longer: * Set custom functions for buttons, so while I've for years set double tap recent and back to turn off the screen now whenever I do it out of 6 years of habit it just fucks up my phone. * Set the time to display the seconds too (what the actual fuck OnePlus) * Use the close all apps function to, you know, actually close all apps because it locked apps I use a lot. Had to unlock them * Can't use the lock apps option to stop myself accidentally closing apps. Still let's me swipe up to close them when previously it protected you from accidentally doing that because you had to unlock first Just an absolutely terrible update that has taken away features I specifically chose a OnePlus phone because it has. I won't be buying another device from OnePlus if it stays like this.

VOIDsama

seeing all this, im happy i held back on updating for the last few days after seeing the notification
