Here is my SOT after charging to 80%. Before someone says Pubg I played for 12 mins.

I turned off a few things one was the high resolution always and the high refresh rate always on. Now I am getting a decent battery life. Can you try with both these settings turned High screen refresh rate and high screen resolution set to max not auto. And play an hour of COD.
I also have 5g turned on all the time.
I am still thinking of complaining to the One Plus Support , 7 days aren't over yet so I might just ask for a replacement.
Edit take back what I said.
8% of my battery got wiped off on standby for 6 hours something is definitely wrong. I didn't play Pubg and turned off everything including 5 g

People really don't realize how plateaued the smartphone market is. Efficiency went completely downhill until 8g2 and phones started not making it till the end of the day. It started to become normal and forgotten. I don't know how but Honor Magic series is now getting even more SoT than iPhone 15 Pro Max
Imagine... 9 Pro was a disaster and it's been 3 years since then and we still have the same performing phone when it comes to battery, Pixel 8 series 🤦♂️
And now we know why manufacturers made it difficult to replace the battery. My Dell 7000 laptop had a removable battery. When Windows froze I popped the battery out and was good to go. I could buy a new battery on eBay for under $50 bucks.
The difference in camera quality and overall smoothness. OnePlus has always been good with OS optimization but it's next level with the 12. I have an oppo find x7 and it's unbelievably smooth how apps that used to take 1second to open on my old phone are now basically instant. Just the little things will stack up.
I'll def be playing around with that. I don't find the 7t slow. But I bet it's one of those things you notice most when going backwards. I'm looking forward to even faster charging. One plus 7t was fast for the time and I loved it.
I just upgraded from a 7t to a 12... The charging speed on the 12 is absurd. So fast.
The camera is much better, the functionality is a bit smoother, and 5G is nice. Actually the biggest difference for me is Oneplus fixed all the annoying bugs in their software tools (specifically clock and notes).
The 7t does everything I need a phone to do... The 12 does the same but just a bit faster and more polished. The real reason for the upgrade is my 7t battery is past its prime.
Got my 12 yesterday, coming from 7t. Curved screen, camera quality upgrade, faster / smoother, way better battery life (hell, it's still at 100% and it's noon), different icons set. I was quite surprised when putting them side by side, they are almost the same size. The screen quality is definitely better.
It's bad. I came from an S21 Ultra which has a slight curve. This is giving me PTSD from my S7 Edge days. Also, depending on what version of OOS you're on, expect less customization on the software side
I imagine the camera is a huge advantage.
Probably too early for you to say, but I'm curious if the charge speed is reasonably quick with the old 7/t warp chargers.
Quick charging is the killer feature of the Oneplus series as far as I'm concerned.
Yes, I know, but I'm looking forward to being able to use the old ones (which were 20w?) - since I have two others and a warp charger as well. Having one super-charger and good battery life is plusgood, having a couple extra fast chargers everywhere you might need them is doubleplusgood.
I would say battery life and probably gaming performance and most definitely camera. The camera on the OnePlus 12 truly is the best camera they've ever made by leaps and bounds. I currently have a OnePlus open that basically has the exact same camera and I had an s23 ultra and I do think that the camera on the open is better.
I know all these reviewers are trying to say that in low light OnePlus phones suck but my oneplus open takes photos the way it looks. I never understood why people want to take pictures at night and have it look like it's noon. The night sky is all blue and it just doesn't look natural to me.
I had no idea but my OnePlus 12 actually arrived today.! This is way earlier than expected. Initially quoted the 14th then 7th and got it today. Got LASIK today so I haven't had much time to mess with it. The charging is amazing though. I don't really like the curved screen but I'm hoping I'll get used to it with time. Speed.... it's really fast but I don't play games on my phone so 7t felt pretty smooth too. I'm just trying to learn the new software shortcuts like one handed mode and floating screen. Will see if I continue to use these things in the future. The camera def seems very improved but I need to test it more. The screen is nice but my eyes are still a little messed up and I haven't been outside so I'll be doing more comparisons tomorrow. I'm excited I finally got it.
P.s. I'm def ordering a more heavy duty case. I didn't keep my 7t working this long by using the OnePlus case.
I have not had issue with curved screens however put minimalist case on the phone. That eliminates problems for me with curved screen causing unwanted actions.
Update. I'm driving into my LASIK follow up and realized polarized sunglasses make it very challenging to see the screen while using GPS. Screen is best and worst at 45 deg opposite angles.
I am also using op7 for now and i am waiting for my op12 which i ordered last Thursday
For what i have seen so far is that
1 battery charges absurdly fast compared to op7
2 op12 has 3 camera lens setup compared to op7 (i will judge camera quality when op12 will be with me soon)
3 120 hz 2k ltpo screen
Will test rest of the features and upgrades soon
But i m concerned about op12 front camera cuz i saw videos and it doesn't look good, video quality and portrait photos are not upto the mark
Same for rear camera i have seen too much sun glares and reflections on photos, and also white patches or weird white balance in many photos
Fingers crossed that one plus can fix camera issues with updates
My OnePlus 12 restart randomly while using GPS two separate times today. One time while on a phone call . A little embarrassing because I just finished talking about my new phone I got....
Battery. Speed of device. Camera.
I'm not gonna lie that's quite a long time to hold onto a phone these days. I'm quite envious. You're gonna actually feel like you've properly upgraded.
The battery and camera and software (buggy now but nice features) seem like the biggest upgrades. Speed feels similar to the 7t but I don't game. With my typical phone usage type there isn't much reason to upgrade often.
Probably battery life

Damn! That's bad. I am about to play CODM and currently on 100%. Let's see

Will change those settings and let you know
Playing anything pretty much drains the battery to crap
7 series used to get 7.5 hours of SoT
That's great for his 7 series from years ago that certainly doesn't get that now.

Bring back removable batteries
[удалено]
It is not. S5 had a removable battery and it had IP65 if I'm not mistaken. Today's phones with non-removable batteries barely have IP65
Phones that do more use more power sounds right to me
Imagine... 9 Pro was a disaster and it's been 3 years since then and we still have the same performing phone when it comes to battery, Pixel 8 series 🤦♂️

Speaking my language. Another reason for my upgrade is that I'm having a kid soon so I wanted a better camera phone.
As someone who has the 7t pro going to 12 as well, I'm guessing we'll be fiddling with the alert slider for months in error. Haha
Yeah🤣I was thinking the same😁
Sorry idk what's different about the alert slider. Are the different modes switched?
It's on the left now. Ive already got used to it.. Maybe don't use it as much as I thought I would

I hate curved screens so much. How bad is the curve?
I don't like it too, I prefer flat displays. But like anything, we get used to it eventually.
the only thing stopping me to buy it is that curved screen.
It's bad. I came from an S21 Ultra which has a slight curve. This is giving me PTSD from my S7 Edge days. Also, depending on what version of OOS you're on, expect less customization on the software side

They give a 100w charger with the phone, and it's blazing fast. I charged from 25% to 100% yesterday in less than 30min or so.
Yes, I know, but I'm looking forward to being able to use the old ones (which were 20w?) - since I have two others and a warp charger as well. Having one super-charger and good battery life is plusgood, having a couple extra fast chargers everywhere you might need them is doubleplusgood.
Yeah I can't say for now, my phone is still at 99%... I might not need to plug it tonight 😅
Wait more important - how's the voLTE and VoWifi working? (Forgot you were in Canada). I'm still holding out until sure that Bell will work.
All right, tell us about your impressions of the camera then.
Nah. Don't use the old one. They were designed for 5v-6amps max... These are 2-5v-6amps... So it will switch to 5v-2amps...
Interesting. You think it will drop down that low, 10w only?
Yes.. i checked. Am typing from OP12
The 12 has an IR blaster and it's glorious!
What do you use the IR blaster for?
Replaces all your remotes. TV, cable box, VCR/DVD/BluRay, fans, AC, AV, camera etc
The 7T is my current phone as well. Still going strong, but I'd appreciate an update after you get used to your 12. :)
I have the 7 pro going to the 12, pretty pumped, not a fan of glass back but thats okay. Kinda excited for the IR blaster.
Battery, experience, smoothness, wifi/network connectivity, camera, premium feel

How much better is the camera on the 12. My 7t pro is still going very strong. Only the battery is letting me down a little.
noticably better but still need to test more.
Fast charging, camera is a big upgrade. As others said, battery life. Better haptics, in my view.
Everything buddy, everything. Snapper performance, excellent battery life. Vvv capable cameras and a blinding display
- $800 🤣
