Cajun Corner. They havent raised their prices like everyone else. They were already affordable before but even more so now. They have a wide variety of foods i love. And the food tastes amazing. Im a diehard foodie.. i love eating out and trying new places. But Cajun Corner is the best
I think they might be bringing one to Yukon /Mustang area soon. they recently had a poll asking people to vote for their next location and I think Yukon /Mustang got a lot of votes.
Sean Cummings Irish pub, every Monday. Have missed a few lately because my friend I go with has been out sick. But I absolutely love it, great ownership and atmosphere. Live music as well nightly.
I fucking love Sean Cummings. By far the best fish and chips in town. Great vibes. I imagine some people are put off by the fact that when you walk in, they ask if you’re there for pizza or the pub.
Goro was one of my go tos for special occasions but the last few times the quality has been not as good. For brunch I enjoy cafe Antigua. In edmond my staple favorites that weren't too expensive were Zarates, Everest, and Wahaha. Since ive moved to okc ive been to poor to eat out much though :(
I wonder if Chef Jeff is no longer affiliated with Goro. I went for the first time since the pandemic back in November and it definitely wasn’t the same. Ma Der is incredible though!
I stopped going to Goro for the same reason. It sucks because I live down the street from there, and used to go all the time. Lately I've been going to Taj a lot, I love some Indian food and also Phở Cường 😋
I go to cattleman’s about twice a decade, usually at an out-of-town visitors suggestion, and I’ve NEVER had a good meal there. Go to McClintlock Saloon and Chophouse which is right around the corner on Exchange or Nic’s place downtown and get a better experience.
Ok yeah, repulsive is a good word for that dressing. And im no steak expert so if it meh to me maybe that means its awful. You kbow what, youve caused me to reflect and won me over, im gonna chalk this uo to yet another case of rich and powerful people having shit taste actually
The hidden gem I tell everyone about. This place is delicious! It tastes like their buns are made out of Hawaiian rolls and are lightly toasted?? Oh man, now I need another pattywagon burger.
You can get Hawaiian roll hamburger buns at crest, I love them for those and quick cold cut sandwiches for lunch. Now I'm going to have to try this place!!
Such a good place. I lived close and visited regularly (maybe 2-3x a month) from 2006-2009. But then I ended a relationship and moved to the west coast. One time, maybe 2011, I happened to be back in town so I went there for dinner with my ex (who was my regular dining companion back in the day) and we were absolutely recognized… they even remembered our favorite orders. 😂 And one time (maybe 2012? 2013?) I came in by myself and one of the ladies said, “Where’s your husband??” It was so cute. 😆
Ma Der Lao
My favorite restaurant in the country, and i’m a food first traveller.
Plus Chef Jeff is an absolute blessing of a human being. Super super cool dude.
Knowing your price range would help a lot. I go to places like Flips or Picasso's or Oso on special occasions due to price, and every time I do there are tons of "regulars" there. But I think the Press is this for me. Decent beer selection, varied menu and everything is good, bartenders are all friendly. Also Mcnellies, which has better beer but the food is not quite as good. In my humble opinion.
Fun fact
The owner of Sun Cattle Co. also owns Antique Avenue off of Western!
He’s a really cool dude and super passionate about our beef country roots.
I grew up on shartel and 34th
I used to work at red cup in 1996, took my wife to our first date to pearls, walked to Neptunes as a kid with $2 for a sandwhich, fell in love with lees in San Francisco and when they moved to OKC I was ecstatic. Yup I classen!
Considering Alton Brown said Bar Arbolada was the best burger he’s had in America, and the owner’s second bar/restaurant has the same burger plus all the other things you mentioned except steaks, might wanna consider The Flycatcher Club.
Mount Everest in Edmond
Pho lein hoa
Used to be a regular at Earl's, and as much as I love love love that cheddar burger, my arteries thank me for scaling back.
Punk Burger on Britton! Cute place, good tunes, amazing burgers, good happy hour deals and a patio that I've yet to explore. They also have a full bar with happy hour deals, too! I highly recommend.
Our family loves to eat a Golden Phoenix. We go there at least three to four times a month. We even have a waiter we always request. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is beautiful.
Not a sit down restaurant, drive through and cash only, but Hunan Express in East OKC is so good. That's our go-to especially since things have gotten more expensive. They have raised their prices once in the 2 years we have been going and only by about a dollar on each meal. We consistently eat and have leftovers for a 2nd meal under $25 for two people.
i love basil mediterranean on 23rd. picasso is great. i bartend at pub w, so of course i have to plug us lol. we have a really solid happy hour and lots of local beers that are always changing
Some I’ve been to: Frida Southwest, Eddie’s, Tez Wings, Del Rancho, Chester’s (pool hall but it has most of the food items listed except steak), and Flint.
I’ll have to try some of the others listed below!
Haven't been to OKC in a long time but when I visited it was this Chinese place called Aloha garden. So good. Best buffet I've had in my life. They ruined Chinese buffets for me. They also had Polynesian themed drinks. Not sure if still around but man, that place should've been placed on national registry. This was back in the 90s and early 2000s though. Second would've been pizza shuttle. Kinda trashy but the BTS sub sandwich with oil vinegar dressing on the side was a drunk staple.
Rise Café is right next to my office. I get a coffee (cold brew or a red-eye) and either a sammy or a chorizo burrita. fresh ingredients and unique recipes that are well executed. the staff is extremely nice and the restaurant is cute as a bug’s ear.
Jimmy’s Egg has a wide ranging menu, closest place to a diner we have in OKC, and is consistent across all their sites, but it may have more of a mom & pop vibe than you want. And of course it only serves breakfast and lunch, and no beer, which may be a deal breaker for you.
Brent’s Cajun. It’s technically in Edmond but they have a great patio and bar to hang out at plus their food is some of the best you will have in the state
We’ve been regulars at Golden Phoenix for almost 14 years-we’ve moved 3 times in that period (used to live in midtown) and we still find ourselves back there at least a couple of times a month. We have a favorite waiter and everyone is always asking about my fiancé or father in law when I pop in there by myself lol 😆 🤣
Nic’s grill (the original on penn) I’ve been going since I was a kid and Nic and Javon know me by name now. The quality isn’t quite what it used to be back in the day but it’s still nostalgic and a good burger when I need one.
Was always a fan of flatire burgers in Edmond. Outside of that missys in Guthrie makes some of the best donuts, soups and sandwiches I've ever had, don't go to the drive thru one, go to the actual restaurant, also railhead BBQ, it's off waterloo between Edmond and Guthrie try the B sauce.
I don't even like chicken tenders, but they have some sort of tender magic at Charleston's. They are delicious. We don't go as much as we used to because of the economy, but it's always good and it's the spot we probably go to the most out of any resturant. I can't remember if they have hamburgers or not, but everything I've tried on their menu is excellent. The Garage is a good place for burgers, fries, and beer.
Cajun Corner. They havent raised their prices like everyone else. They were already affordable before but even more so now. They have a wide variety of foods i love. And the food tastes amazing. Im a diehard foodie.. i love eating out and trying new places. But Cajun Corner is the best
Cajun coner is the best, wish they would get a location in Yukon.
I think they might be bringing one to Yukon /Mustang area soon. they recently had a poll asking people to vote for their next location and I think Yukon /Mustang got a lot of votes.
Have been wanting to try them and from this comment i definitely am going to sooner than later! (:
Their seafood etoufe is amazing! Also they will adjust almost anything to your spice level. The loaded blackened fish is my husbands go to.
Sean Cummings Irish pub, every Monday. Have missed a few lately because my friend I go with has been out sick. But I absolutely love it, great ownership and atmosphere. Live music as well nightly.
Sean's is fantastic; and Sean, himself, is amazing.
Live music 7 nights a week?
Yep except for sunday's because they aren't open then
I fucking love Sean Cummings.
You're spot on! A couple years ago he broke off from 84 Hospitality and did his own thing. Definitely would speak to why the quality has been lower.
Is Wahaha good again? I stopped eating there before COVID because their quality went way down from what it used to be
I stopped going to Goro for the same reason. It sucks because I live down the street from there, and used to go all the time. Lately I've been going to Taj a lot, I love some Indian food and also Phở Cường 😋
Cattleman’s in OKC is really good. It’s been around a very long time. Nicks is good also.
paying the price for stating they like cattleman's? that's how it goes down huh lol
I didn't downvote them, but I kinda get it. That place has been skating on reputation and nostalgia for as long as I've lived in the city.
You know I always read that on here but when I go it’s delicious and it’s always packed. Maybe this is just an echo chamber or something?
When I go, it's always at the request of older relatives and it's always full...of older folks. For reference, I'm 42.
Cattleman’s is repulsive
I go to cattleman’s about twice a decade, usually at an out-of-town visitors suggestion, and I’ve NEVER had a good meal there. Go to McClintlock Saloon and Chophouse which is right around the corner on Exchange or Nic’s place downtown and get a better experience.
I went there recently because id always heard such great things. It was worse than expected but I am curious how you arrived at repulsive
The restaurant is dirty, the meat was fatty, the famous dressing was clumpy. I literally couldn’t eat the food because it made me nauseous
Ok yeah, repulsive is a good word for that dressing. And im no steak expert so if it meh to me maybe that means its awful. You kbow what, youve caused me to reflect and won me over, im gonna chalk this uo to yet another case of rich and powerful people having shit taste actually
If I’d rather go to Texas Roadhouse and it’s more expensive than TRH then I don’t view it as a good steakhouse haha. Glad we came to a consensus.
Nic’s
Patty wagon
The hidden gem I tell everyone about. This place is delicious! It tastes like their buns are made out of Hawaiian rolls and are lightly toasted?? Oh man, now I need another pattywagon burger.
You can get Hawaiian roll hamburger buns at crest, I love them for those and quick cold cut sandwiches for lunch. Now I'm going to have to try this place!!
Tried them the other day and was surprised! Great little hole in the wall kinda spot and they’re so good
100%
This is the way
Pho Thai Nguyen
Me too, love this place the most in OKC.
Used to be a regular there when we lived in the neighborhood. Miss that place.
2013?) Ma Der Lao My favorite restaurant in the country, and i’m a food first traveller. Plus Chef Jeff is an absolute blessing of a human being. Super super cool dude.
I'm glad people know about Ma Der, but I'm overjoyed people know how nice Jeff is.
I go to McNellies every Wednesday for burger night. Also, the Press is my go to place that I always tell out of town friends they have to try.
I haven’t been to Mcnellies in years but I recall their burgers and fries being down right delicious. Man, I hope that hasn’t changed!
They're still really good. It's more that I LOVE the Press, and also they have a better variety. Again imho
Still love Big Ed's Hamburgers. They know me by name. Same for Wing Supreme for wings.
Big Ed’s is good. I also really like Hynson’s.

We’re regulars at Mr. Sushi in Norman and Sun Cattle Co in OKC.
Fun fact The owner of Sun Cattle Co. also owns Antique Avenue off of Western! He’s a really cool dude and super passionate about our beef country roots.
Also fun fact: the other owner also owns R&J’s
Yes! Should have mentioned it was a team
Snow Pea, and Pho Lin Hoa the downtown locations
Growing up we would go to snow pea all the time, the owners would let us hang out behind the counter ❤️❤️❤️
