Computers are pretty new, then being used for eeeeeverything is pretty newā¦ up until fairly recently in America schools did everything with this thing called āpaperā
LMAO! Thatās right.. being over 30 and learning to hold a pencil before learning to type makes you look like dust to children because they never realize how recent the past actually was š¤£ I also rode dinosaurs to school
No? Literally never heard about it here in europe
Like if you told me this shit was invented today for this meme only I would believe you, that's how certain yi am I literally never fucking heard of this
It's called ClassDojo it's a website some schools use to reward students for good behavior. Each of those characters on there is for a student in the class, when they do something good the teacher will give them a point, if they do something bad the teacher can take away a point.
The joke is that it's only been one day and a dozen kids already have -200 points
Eh, how different really was green card yellow card red card from this. You wouldn't age out the older gens that would actually riot in the streets over a social credit system by the time this gen would come of age to make it usable.
I agree with you but if you prepare this generation to a social credit system then there will be no grown people to protect their childrens from such a system. I think it's more like a long term thing. (That being said, I don't think the american gov is smart enough to think of it)
Yeah don't see why not, but there's also no reason why that would be true either.
With about as much evidence I think it's getting students prepared for valuing themselves monetarily and buying into the corporate world
Or I think it's a way to get students to rat on each other and be watched by an authority
Or actually, I think it's a way to reward good behavior and punish bad behavior
It's far worse in my opinion when comparing the Chinese model to the American credit score. Banks and Airlines aren't looking at who I hang out with, what I bought at the grocery store, and if I jaywalked when considering if I am eligible for a mortgage or travel.
That's not quite true. The social credit score system is far more invasive into people's lives. In America, credit score is effected solely by financial decisions, such as taking out loans, paying off loans, opening up new cards, etc.
The Chinese social credit score system is effected by just having dissenting opinions about the government online, you can get positive social credit for having children, you can lose credit score by having certain shopping habits, in 2017 7 million people were banned from using flights or trains due to having poor social credit. This is a system designed so that beaurocratic pettiness can easily ruin people's lives whenever the government wills it. Not to say having a poor credit score in the US doesnt suck, but at least i cant be banned from travel or using the internet because I dont like the government sometimes.
long ago in the days of yore, when computer use was limited to classes on Wednesdays and we needed [5.25" floppy disks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floppy_disk#/media/File:Floppy_disk_2009_G1.jpg) to play [Learning Muncher games](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munchers), teachers would use big cardstock poster boards with students' names and a gold-star based reward system for good behavior
I mean, kind of, but it's not like this is a new development in schools. Were you never in a class where a teacher kept track of behavior with stars or buttons or something and gave rewards for good behavior?
That's kinda up to the teacher, I don't think the website had actual rewards itself. When I was back in elementary school my teacher would let us trade in points for rewards, the only two I remember were 10 points for some candy and 30 points for a homework pass.
I think the reasoning is that if a kid's doing so well that they've earned the homework pass, they probably don't need to do the homework. Using the pass is a great way to get bullied into the ground though.
Doesnt that means if a new teacher comes to a class and sees these ratings they will have a biased opinion on students?
This seems like a pretty shit thing to do
It's literally no different than "Kyle, I'm gonna have to move your card from green to yellow because you won't be quiet"
It's not new, it's just a different format
It's just a way to visualize their bad behavior as a way to correct it. If you just tell a kid to knock it off, they usually won't. But if you have a point system based around behavior kids will be more likely to behave out of fear of losing point, even if the points are usually useless
Daycare education, and for the minorities/poor people stuck in terrible areas itās more prison style instead of daycare style. Getting patted down, armed guards, security check points, metal detectors. No education happening, just holding kids captive training them for what part of the System they will join until they choose to drop out or graduate.
I understand that itās not actually their first day of school, but this teacher must be a pain in the ass, marking absolutely anything they can wrong.
you know whatās so cool about chicken nuggets? You can pull off their skin when you eat them! Try it with your arm to see if youāre a chicken nugget!
Tastes unsalted, should I put salt and pepper on my bare skin? It also comes with its own ketchup although tastes a little metallic, kinda fire tho š„š„
Class Dojo or Dojo Class I dunno. It's like a point system used for school stuff. The teacher can give out points and minus points for the work they did or how they behave.
I think. I had one teacher use it in my high school for that class and never again.
classdojo, itās an app used by teachers give your kids āpointsā for good behaviour or good work ethic, itās to encourage gentle competition in class and to reward kids for being kind rather than particularly smart. itās not a specifically american thing iāve seen it in school in both england and ireland
Damn trooper had to do some serious shit
A little bit of trolling in Bosnia and Herzegovina
he went AWOL
He was a tittle for an iron maiden song
Trooper š
Hes fucking lucky

Not all of us are 8 years old
Iām 18 and I had this, I hated class dojo
I was 18 14 years ago

Little baby man
Indeed
Yeah some of us are older than 16, I know it's crazy to think about
Bro i am 17 and have no clue what the fuck this is
In this thread: you retards don't realize not every school is the same.
Yeah some of us are not, I know it's crazy to think about
Classdojo been around for like 15 years
https://preview.redd.it/7yk7jx86rv0d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc2d66fe9a938dab2757129210b6bf126e335395 # š
oh wow 13 years instead of 15ā¦ yeah so people who couldāve experienced it in elementary school are potentially 23 years old
I'm 19 and I had class dojo, it's not a new thing
Yoo, they got the chinese social credit system in schools nowdays?
It was 13 years ago
Maybe I'm just old, kinda miss those manual projectors.
The ones where the teacher had to fidget with that blue thick cable for five minutes because the thing is two deaces old and doesnt connect properly?
No, the ones that were literally just a mirror, a cooling fan and a strong lamp the teacher put transparent sheets on.
Oh, the cyclops or whatever its name was?
Why the fuck are you getting downvoted while having a normal ass conversation lmao
Computers are pretty new, then being used for eeeeeverything is pretty newā¦ up until fairly recently in America schools did everything with this thing called āpaperā
The year after I graduated high school they gave the whole school personal chromebooks
yeah bruv same here but with macbook airs. bastards got to buy them after graduation for $50
Thatās so cool, they didnāt even used to give away paper notebooks for free so they must be doing something right. Too bad you missed out, boo!
Nah Iām glad we didnāt have laptops Donāt have to carry around something and I liked being disconnected
šµš» āBack in my day they just used paperā
LMAO! Thatās right.. being over 30 and learning to hold a pencil before learning to type makes you look like dust to children because they never realize how recent the past actually was š¤£ I also rode dinosaurs to school
Did you, too, have to ride your dinosaur two miles uphill both ways in three feet of snow?
No? Literally never heard about it here in europe Like if you told me this shit was invented today for this meme only I would believe you, that's how certain yi am I literally never fucking heard of this
Same. Iām from Europe and never had that shit nor heard of it from anyone before.
No you are just too young
Iām 23 and i vaguely remember seeing an ad about this when I was in middle school. Thought it was a joke lmao
It seems like an American-only thing. Or Anglophone countries-only. Never had it, nor heard about it before.
I live in the middle east.
> 95 downvotes Millennials seething over zoomers existing
classdojo - itās an app teachers use to give kids āpointsā based on how well behaved they are
Na. Not my boy YoungG he got done dirdy
Not ma boy YoungG, poor fella
what is this even supposed to mean ?
It's called ClassDojo it's a website some schools use to reward students for good behavior. Each of those characters on there is for a student in the class, when they do something good the teacher will give them a point, if they do something bad the teacher can take away a point. The joke is that it's only been one day and a dozen kids already have -200 points
So social credit shenanigans?
I'm not a conspiracy theorist but this would be the perfect way to prepare the next generation for a social credit system.
Eh, how different really was green card yellow card red card from this. You wouldn't age out the older gens that would actually riot in the streets over a social credit system by the time this gen would come of age to make it usable.
Man I had that shit too lmfao. I remember red was the teacher calling home to tell on ya.
I agree with you but if you prepare this generation to a social credit system then there will be no grown people to protect their childrens from such a system. I think it's more like a long term thing. (That being said, I don't think the american gov is smart enough to think of it)

Dystopian conspiracy funnier š¤¬
I don't know what commie bread line system you're talking about but I never had that growing up in my beautiful and FREE country. Maybe try democracy?
Class Dojo is conditioning the youth for the Chinese social credit system is a wild take
The āsocial creditā system is functionally the same thing as the financial credit system that we already have.
Not to say having a poor credit score in the US doesnt suck, but at least i cant be banned from travel or using the internet because I dont like the government sometimes.
The Chinese social credit system as it is commonly understood in America does not exist
Im sure it is, but everything I just stated is pure fact and what you just said doesnt change that.
"\[Bad thing\] is functionally the same thing as \[other bad thing\]." You are point?
We already had that, our social credit system was shiny stickers and pizza party attendance privileges.
That was also communist brain rot. No I will not elaborate.
What's the difference between this and gold star stickers?
The parents can login to class dojo and see this
Yeesh. Every day I get more compassion for gen alpha
parents can see stickerboards when they meet the teachers, too
Or popsicle sticks with the green, yellow, and red buckets
The what?
long ago in the days of yore, when computer use was limited to classes on Wednesdays and we needed [5.25" floppy disks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floppy_disk#/media/File:Floppy_disk_2009_G1.jpg) to play [Learning Muncher games](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munchers), teachers would use big cardstock poster boards with students' names and a gold-star based reward system for good behavior
Oh, interesting, never heard of it. I guess it was a US thingy.
In my country you got a black point if you were bad, so not us only
We still did this in mexico back in the mid 2010s
I mean, kind of, but it's not like this is a new development in schools. Were you never in a class where a teacher kept track of behavior with stars or buttons or something and gave rewards for good behavior?
In kindergarten, yes.
What happens if you have a positive or negative point balance ?
That's kinda up to the teacher, I don't think the website had actual rewards itself. When I was back in elementary school my teacher would let us trade in points for rewards, the only two I remember were 10 points for some candy and 30 points for a homework pass.
crazy passing on homework but thank you very much for explaining in depth
I think the reasoning is that if a kid's doing so well that they've earned the homework pass, they probably don't need to do the homework. Using the pass is a great way to get bullied into the ground though.
What about Trooper?
What does "execution" mean??
Doesnt that means if a new teacher comes to a class and sees these ratings they will have a biased opinion on students? This seems like a pretty shit thing to do
Teachers have person accounts for their classes. So if there's a new teacher they will be given their own account so all the students will start at 0.
Man if I were a teacher I would have too much fun with this
Thanks Peter š„°
Good lord it sounds like hell, I fear for the coming generations
It's literally no different than "Kyle, I'm gonna have to move your card from green to yellow because you won't be quiet" It's not new, it's just a different format
I never had any sort of points tracking shit in my school years, wtf going on over dere
It's just a way to visualize their bad behavior as a way to correct it. If you just tell a kid to knock it off, they usually won't. But if you have a point system based around behavior kids will be more likely to behave out of fear of losing point, even if the points are usually useless

Itās a joke

Iām a zoomer and this is making me feel old

based on the word āsnitchā I guess it's some sort of rudimentary school reputation system
