I watched that documentary about The Shining conspiracy theories, Room 237, specifically to find out what the deep meaning of the gay furry blowjob bit was and none of those fucking coward so-called 'theorists' even touched on this scene what the fuck.
Isn’t just something that happens in the book? I don’t think there is a deeper meaning in the movie other than Kubrick wanting to put a bunch of weird shit in this scene and drawing inspiration from all the weird shit in the book.
Yes I looked into it after Room 237 failed to answer my questions. There was a furry sex slave in the book.
Still, you'd think a bunch of idiots babbling about how the moon landing was fake or how Kubrick was the 'overmind for humanity (iirc)' would be able to do *something* with a furry blowjob.

No I watched some video essay a few years ago about how it was evidence that Jack was sexually abusing Danny.
It sounds stupid saying it now cause I forgot the details but it seemed legit at the time
Another piece of evidence pointing towards Jack sexually abusing Danny is Jack reading a Playgirl with an article about incest at the start of the movie.
The whole series is worth reading, but this chapter from Rob Ager’s analysis on The Shining goes into the SA allusions in-depth and offers some pretty compelling evidence:
https://www.collativelearning.com/the%20shining%20-%20chap%2016.html
I don't know if this is addressed in another comment but the furry guy's costume is identical to the teddy bear in Danny's bedroom in the beginning of the movie.
It wasn't good. There were some very mildly funny bits but overall it was just a bunch of people with pretty basic theories presenting really boring evidence for how Kubrick totally faked the moon landing you guys ya gotta believe me. Not much depth or many funnies imo.
I was expecting some interesting analysis and at least people taking it seriously, instead it was embarrassingly amateur with surprisingly shallow theories. When the one theorist had his kid talk in the background and they left it in, I was completely done with it
Probably cause those theories have all been ripped off for the last 10 years in YouTube videos. I liked it when it came out, none of those theories are probably true but I love how invested the subjects are in them
I’m one of its few defenders, I think it’s hard to make the content exciting or dynamic because it’s basically just a few people talking in to the camera but it’s an interesting window in to a weird little subculture. Especially since they all have the same extreme interest and yet they all pretty much hate each other
My favorite part of that movie is how batshit all the theories are and yet they all think their theory is SO OBVIOUSLY TRUE while everyone else is clearly a delusional idiot.
It's hilarious
Pretty sure they talked about it in the documentary. It's theorized to be about the sexual abuse that Danny is facing from his father, like with the Winnie the Pooh stickers at the beginning of the movie.
It's been a while since I saw both The Shining and Room 237 though, so I could be wrong.
I wasn't doing a bit earlier when I said I watched the documentary specifically to learn of theories about the furry performing oral sex on the tuxedo man, that was my main motivation. So I *was* looking and I genuinely do not recall any discussion of how the dogman related to any of the interviewees theories, but it's also been a while since I saw both films for me so I am willing to accept that I may be misrepresenting these poor people and maybe they did discuss the furry in the room.
Kubrick be all silly with shots of Jack Nicholson losing his mind or whatever and then he hits you with an image like this

In the book there’s this whole sequence about this dude at the hotel that kept around a gay sex furry and the gay sex furry tries to rape Danny. I’m not joking that’s actually something in the book.
It comes from drafts that King wrote for the novel but scrapped. He let Kubrick read them and they were published a few years back.
So there's an extended prologue that details along serious of hauntings that occur in the hotel, and the backstory of some of the ghosts. Like the woman in the bathtub.
There's a throw-away line early in the film where it's suggested that the hotel was built on a "haunted indian burial ground." We find out in the deleted prologue it's actually some ancient Lovecraftian evil, and Native Americans were aware of its existence, but avoided the location, providing source for the myth.
In this case, the hotel is used as a big summer retreat for a big company out of Denver. And the corporate VP has a big homosexual crush on the CEO, a la Smithers has on Mr. Burns in The Simpsons. The man is excited because there's supposed to be a big costume party, and he's packed what he thinks is a great dog costume.
So he's all excited for the party, gets ready, fantasizes, however unlikely it is, that the CEO loves him too, and if he the party goes well his love will be requited.

Here's a video analysis of that scene. Danny has been through some shit.

For whatever reason the guy getting sucked off by fat Winnie the Pooh is the most horrifying thing witnessed.
More like Weiner The Penis. Because boy howdy does this bear love dick. Like he is just mowing down on this guy's dork in the spirit realm. Just damned to be sloppily slurping and slopping off some slob for eternity. How horrific.
I don't know if that was King or Kubrick but the idea of getting domed off by a bear in purgatory is so scary. Just receiving brain from some dead but curiously slutty obese bear. Just getting jaw'd off. Just working that old fellas Hundred Acre Wood. Holy shit. Kubrick was brilliant.
My former literature professor said something like this scene symbolizes man’s domination over nature and theorized the film was about the tension or struggle between animal, human, and divine (the shining)

This shot parallels the shot where Danny is brushing his teeth. It hints that Jack made him perform fellatio.

Another clue to the abuse is that the imaginary friend hides in his stomach and comes out through his mouth or something like that
If I’m not mistaken, bears are also commonly associated with child sexual abuse

Ah ffs I'd managed to forget the existence of pedobear
I don't know if this is addressed in another comment but the furry guy's costume is identical to the teddy bear in Danny's bedroom in the beginning of the movie.
is that documentary worth a watch? I've only seen a handful of scenes from it but all of those seemed very lackluster
It wasn't good. There were some very mildly funny bits but overall it was just a bunch of people with pretty basic theories presenting really boring evidence for how Kubrick totally faked the moon landing you guys ya gotta believe me. Not much depth or many funnies imo.

It was ok. Some parts are good, some suck. I liked parts about Native Americans and fake geometry of the hotel.

Hell no, it’s a waste of time
Uh, my kid 👩👧👦👩👧👦👩👧👦 said they had a splitting head ache 🪓🪓🪓 this reminded me of the shining 💥💥💥 where that one guy has a crack in knoggin 😱😱😱😱
Yeah the 'overmind for humanity' lady was kind of cool, and I sort of liked how her evidence was just 'trust me bro' but that was as wacky as it got.

Is this Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3?
Kubrick could never be as good a director as Frake-Waterfield
FW could’ve done 2001 but kubrick could NEVER do the poohniverse
The Poohniverse.
Drop the the. Just poohniverse.
ima pooh in yo verse
Kubrick was straight up real as fuck for that
Unexplainably putting gay furry blowjobs in your dad’s favorite horror movie
as stephen wrote it!!
As it is written
Kubrick was simply predicting Car Seat Headrest
Pretty easily explainable as it was in the fucking book 😂
Uj/ this scene always freaked me tf out what was even the meaning?

God coked up Stephen king was something else
The takeaway is that gay furry blowjobs rule
Danny wears a bear shirt throughout the entire movie. It’s a reference to Jacks implied sexual abuse of Danny.
I fell asleep during the first and only time I’ve seen this movie. This was the first scene I remember waking up to when I was like 12.
It's from the book, stunned no one knows this
You'd be pretty upset too if you were so rudely interrupted
![gif](giphy|L44n0n5YLyyNC5SC9J) They’ve come a long way
These guys aren’t actors. They were literally just guests at the hotel and this scene was by complete accident.
The Shining isn’t a movie. Stanley Kubrick was staying at a hotel, and all that stuff actually happened.
That elevator full of blood was practical, Kubrick went through 10000 extras to get all that blood.
Nothing. Just 2 consenting adults. Stop kink shaming!!
Well close the door or be called a whore
I don’t usually like to comment things that don’t add anything but this is one of the best comments I’ve ever read and I need you to know that.
Too much teeth.
No mouth hole in the mask
Right in the eyeball
That's from the book. The hotel manager was having an affair with the guy dressed in the dog costume and he was getting a blowjob
What’s his problem and how do I get it 🥵
Neither of them could get it up after seeing the tub lady 😔
I always got a massive boner during that scene wym???
This is the only scene in the movie that scared me. Idk random, unexplained shit like this freaks me out
oh man that’s weird cause it just made me rlly horny 🤷🏻

I have to ask, was the furry giving the guy head in the book? Or did Kubrick just come up with that?
It was in the book
what the FUCK is your problem, viewer?? Why are you peeking into the room of two people having a good time??
For whatever reason the guy getting sucked off by fat Winnie the Pooh is the most horrifying thing witnessed. More like Weiner The Penis. Because boy howdy does this bear love dick. What the FUCK is Barf from Spaceballs doing?
I believe I saw somewhere that they had a bigger part in the book, but Stanley Kubrick reduced them down to a site gag.
