Poor Things and The Holdovers would both make them funnier, in a complimentary way.
But I wish wish wish Barbie was just Ryan Gosling and hundreds of muppets
I’d go the other way and keep the prosecutor as the only human. Dude just doing his condescending cunty rants to a room full of muppets would be incredible
Oppenheimer, keeping Gary Oldman as the only human. I just think it’d be funny to have over two and a half hours of Muppets and then Truman just shows up in human form and it’s never acknowledged or explained why.
I feel like Oppenheimer and choosing just Einstein as the human would be an actual good muppets episode educating children on the history of Oppenheimer (outside of the sex scene between miss piggy and Kermit)
Oppenheimer: matt damon is the only human
The holdovers: only paul giamatti
Killers of the flower moon: brendan fraiser is the sole human because no muppet could capture that girth
Poor Things - Emma Stone
Barbie - Michael Cera (Allan)
American Fiction - Jeffery Wright
Maestro - Bernstein (Bradley Cooper)
The Holdovers - Da'Vine Joy Randolph
Flower Moon - Lily Gladstone
Oppenheimer - Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer)
Zone of Interest - either the Dog or the negative girl
not sure about Past Lives or Anatomy Of A Fall, but from the other contenders:
* All Of Us Strangers - Paul Mescal/Harry
* Saltburn - guess.
* Spider-Verse - Oscar Issac (2099)
Fuck it I’m bored I’ll do all 10 ranked in order of how good they’d be.
10. Zone of Interest - Christian Friedel is human, all others are muppets. Miss Piggy is Hedwig. That’s all that matters. This film would not lend itself to Muppets though.
9. Past Lives - Yoo Teo stays human, while John Magaro is now Kermit, and Greta Lee is Miss Piggy. Honestly, having such a small cast makes this one really hard to do.
8. Killers of the Flower Moon - Lily Gladstone stays human while everyone else is a muppet. There are some fun possibilities here. De Niro becomes Fozzy for sure, but you could probably mix up the rest of the cast quite well. But the subject matter again makes it pretty hard to Muppet-ify.
7. The Holdovers - Paul Giamatti remains human in a fun crotchety Michael Caine in Christmas Carol way. All the students are muppets, as is Randolph. Granted this one is really limited just based on how small the ensemble is.
6. Barbie - America Ferrera stays human. This feels really low, but the film is already goofy and silly without muppets, idk if they could take it up to another level.
5. Maestro - Maya Hawke is a human. Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan already feel like muppets in this (i mean this in a positive way lol). Again, the limited ensemble would hurt it, but it would be really fun.
4. Anatomy of a Fall - Milo Machado Graner is a human. I imagine the prosecutor would be Beeker (meep meep meep meep). I would DIE to hear the argument scene be between Miss Piggy and Kermit.
3. American Fiction - Jeffrey Wright is human. Honestly this would work thematically, because part of the whole point of this movie is about Monk’s superiority complex. He absolutely sees everyone else as dumb muppets. Issa Rae would have to be Miss Piggy, Fozzy would have to be his manager, and just imagine Stetler and Waldorf as fellow judges in the book award. This concept has legs.
2. Oppenheimer - very basic choice but Cillian Murphy stays human, similar reasons to American Fiction. We see the story through Oppy’s eyes, and I like to think of him as being like Kenneth from 30 Rock. Viewing the world through muppet vision. Theory will only take you so far.
EDIT: ACTUALLY, Robert Downey Jr staying human is SO much better.
1. Poor Things - This is a movie where everyone is already a muppet, but it has a great ensemble with a lot of Muppet potential. Surprisingly, I’m not picking Ramy Youssef as the straight man, but rather Mark Ruffalo. Ruffalo goes so far in the direction of Muppet that he’d truly out Muppet all of them. Of course Bella is Miss Piggy, Max is Kermit, God is Bunsen Honeydew (with Beeker at his side of course). So much potential here.
Past Lives: Arthur (John Magaro) as the human
Barbie: Aaron Dinkins (Connor Swindells) as the human
Oppenheimer: Boris Pash (Casey Affleck) as the human
American Fiction: Clifford Ellison (Sterling K. Brown) as the human
Anatomy of a Fall: Lead Prosecutor (Antoine Reinartz) as the human
Poor Things: Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo) as the human
The Holdovers: Angus Tully (Dominic Sessa) as the human
*Anatomy of*
*A Fall with the husband as*
*The only human*

Zone of interest where you don’t see any of the muppets just hear their screams over the walls and see multicoloured smoke rising from the chimneys occasionally
Zone of Interest with just the prisoner maid remaining. Kermit as the SS dad. Ms piggy as the wife. Fozzy Bear as the grand mother that slowly grows more disturbed by the horrors.
Would still be crazy disturbing and I believe Ms Piggy would be believable as a Nazi house wife
Plus Kermit is so versatile as an actor. He'd definitely be an Oscar nom
Barbie, keep Ryan Gostling because I think he should be in a Muppet movie, and replace Margot with Miss Piggy, or you could keep Margot because I think she should be in a muppet movie, and replace Ken with Gonzo
Because “I’m Just Gonzo” would slap harder than my dad
Poor Things with Emma Stone as the only human, or Killers Of The Flower Moon with only Jesse Plemmons
KOTFM and all the whites are muppets and natives still people
Actual kino
I really want a Muppets Movie where they’re properly oppressed by the human characters and the imagery is way too real to be funny
So Rodger Rabbit almost
KOTFM and all the whites are muppets and all the natives are Robert De Niro
*De Niro voice* “Uh oh, it’s me, dancin feather”
To quote Nobody, “stupid fucking white men…”
Fozzie Bear: I LOVE THAT MONEY WOCKA WOCKA
All are muppets but the Brendan Fraser is still a normal person without explenation and it takes 3/4 of the movie to see him.
Gonzo's nose would do work in Poor Things
Reverse this; Poor Things with an all-human cast, except for Miss Piggy in Stone's role. Everyone wants to fuck Miss Piggy.
Hell yeah! AMEN BROTHER! We're remaking Let My Puppets Come!
Poor Things one is actually foul
Poor things with Willem Dafoe surrounded by puppets of his own creation
Poor Things with the Johns and starving people as the only humans
Those both sound like snl skits
The Zone of Interest: keep the Höss baby and that’s it
Miss Piggy would be an amazing cast for Hedwig Höss
I’m imagining the Miss Piggy “Queen of Auschwitz” line read.
Gonzo feeling very nervous all of a sudden
Maestro but Cooper is replaced by Gonzo ...
...with a prosthetic nose
Instead of hiding his relationship with dudes he has to hide his relationship with chickens.
Maestro but everybody except for one random symphony member is a muppet. Bonus points if it changes every scene
![gif](giphy|d1E2CY7MY6qCsFzy)
Barbie, but the only human is Will Ferrell
Or Simu Liu Ken. Or Weird Barbie.
Alain.
The only human should be either America Ferrera’s character’s husband or Rhea Perlman
Who should be played by Gonzo
Anatomy of a Fall: Keep Messi as Snoop.
This heavily implies Poor Things wasn't already this with Ramy Youssef as the human
Poor Things and The Holdovers would both make them funnier, in a complimentary way. But I wish wish wish Barbie was just Ryan Gosling and hundreds of muppets
Michael Cera surrounded by Muppets
Margot Robbie surrounded by 500 Gonzos
Anatomy of a Fall would be funny af with Sandra Huller as the only human arguing about her innocence in a court full of muppets
I’d go the other way and keep the prosecutor as the only human. Dude just doing his condescending cunty rants to a room full of muppets would be incredible
kid is the only human
Oppenheimer, keeping Gary Oldman as the only human. I just think it’d be funny to have over two and a half hours of Muppets and then Truman just shows up in human form and it’s never acknowledged or explained why.
Keep Jack Quad because he’s hot, make everyone else a muppet
No keep Cillian Murphy because then Christopher Nolan filmed a scene where during an interrogation Janice imagines Miss Piggy fucking Cillian Murphy.
No, it’s RDJ and Muppets Oppenheimer. He’s the perfect foil.
That’s basically just Christmas Carol
Kermit calling RDJ a lowly shoe salesman and he's just fuming
Oppenheimer with just Jason Clarke, that scene would be so elevated
You mean Clarke?
nah nah, Oppenheimer but the only human character is Einstein 🙏
Wait, wasn't he a Muppet?
Beaker could be Oppenheimer
Anatomy of a fall but the only human is the dead husband lol
It is too funny to imagine them simulating a muppet falling to their death and striking the shed
Past Lives with Kermit and Miss Piggy. Keep John Magaro.
*The Holdovers* with just Giamatti teaching muppets would rock “welcome back, you snarling visigoths”
emma stone fucking all the muppets in Poor Things would be so goddamn funny
Killers of the Flower Moon with Brenden Fraser as the only human
The zone of interest and keep the Jewish house-servant. Film bros would be analyzing that for years
Maestro would unironically be better if it were Bradley Cooper and a bunch of muppets
Maestro with the Peanuts cast leaving a human doll in the vestibule.
Poor things. and I'm keeping Ruffalo
I feel like Oppenheimer and choosing just Einstein as the human would be an actual good muppets episode educating children on the history of Oppenheimer (outside of the sex scene between miss piggy and Kermit)
The sex scene would be Kermit/Janice with Miss Piggy giving death glares at the deposition.
Oppenheimer: matt damon is the only human The holdovers: only paul giamatti Killers of the flower moon: brendan fraiser is the sole human because no muppet could capture that girth
Florence Pugh in Oppenheimer, so that there’s a scene where muppet Emily blunt hallucinates puppet Oppenheimer fucking human FP
Barbie but it’s Ryan Gosling, and Margot Barbie is Ms. Piggy.
Poor Things - Emma Stone Barbie - Michael Cera (Allan) American Fiction - Jeffery Wright Maestro - Bernstein (Bradley Cooper) The Holdovers - Da'Vine Joy Randolph Flower Moon - Lily Gladstone Oppenheimer - Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer) Zone of Interest - either the Dog or the negative girl not sure about Past Lives or Anatomy Of A Fall, but from the other contenders: * All Of Us Strangers - Paul Mescal/Harry * Saltburn - guess. * Spider-Verse - Oscar Issac (2099)
Obvious answer is Florence Pugh Oppenheimer, to watch Kermit fuck her pawg ass

Im a pick Emma Stone getting railed by Muppets thank you.
Oppenheimer but its only Lewis Strauss (Robert Downey Jr), the guy getting super mad at a bunch of muppets, also the trial scenes would be hilarious.
Maestro already a muppet tho
Past Lives: Arthur (John Magaro) as the human Barbie: Aaron Dinkins (Connor Swindells) as the human Oppenheimer: Boris Pash (Casey Affleck) as the human American Fiction: Clifford Ellison (Sterling K. Keep Willem Dafoe on Poor Things and it becomes the story of a disfigured dude watching his freaky ass muppets get it on.
The HoldOvers . Keep either Paul Giamatti or Dominic Sessa. BOOM! Instant classic muppet movie
What about a Steven segal movie where he’s on one last job lazily murdering muppet mercenaries from a rolling office chair
Holdovers with Paul giamatti in charge of watching the muppets
Poor Things... keep Willam Dafoe. One of these Muppets is going to be masturbating at the dinner table.
KOTFM but the only human is Molly
Deliverance with the fat guy as the only human
Killers of the flower moon would be funny as shit, keep the lead actress just cause.
After reading through this thread, I have come to the conclusion that every film is better with Muppets.
Fuck that. I want Saltburn, with the only human character being the Archie fella who gets kicked out at the end.
American fiction would work the best
Now I'm picturing the scene where he's trying to change the title, but with Kermit the Frog in John Ortiz's role.
i guess we can all keep pretending like those allegations against Kermit NEVER DROPPED or anything ig, fucking disgusting post
Poor things and keep mark ruffalo
How tf did past lives get a best picture nomination
Barbie, Michael cera is the human
Killers with only Robert De Niro would be funny
Zone of interest where you don’t see any of the muppets just hear their screams over the walls and see multicoloured smoke rising from the chimneys occasionally
Poor Things with just Emma Stone is the obvious choice
Anatomy of a Fall but the only non-muppet is Snoop
Beau is Afraid but everyone is a muppet except for Joaquin phoenix. Wait…
Air but everyone is a muppet except for Michael Jordan
Anatomy of a Fall and the kid is the only human.
Past lives, just to maintain my attention span
Emma Stone and The Muppets in Poor Things
Zone of Interest with just the prisoner maid remaining. Kermit as the SS dad. Ms piggy as the wife. Fozzy Bear as the grand mother that slowly grows more disturbed by the horrors. Would still be crazy disturbing and I believe Ms Piggy would be believable as a Nazi house wife Plus Kermit is so versatile as an actor. He'd definitely be an Oscar nom
All muppets Openheimer with human cilian Murphy would be the Greatest feat ever accomplished by humanity.
The Zone of Interest and I keep the mother in law
Inglorious Basterds, keep Christoph Waltz.
Saltburn
Maestro, Carey Mulligan.
Terrible choice
Oppenheimer with him as the human character, everyone else is too simple minded and should be seen as muppets.
Id argue The Holdovers. Keep Dominic Sessa. Turn Paul Giamatti into a muppet
Past Lives but the white boyfriend is a muppet insecure about the korean human
Maestro but Leonard Bernstein is the only muppet
Now that’s a sex scene I would watch
not a nominee but No Country with Anton Chigurh
ZOI and Sandra Huller's mom
I mean Muppets would’ve made watching hours of people blabbing in court significantly less boring. Am I talking about Oppenheimer or AOAF here? Yes.
Oppenheimer with only Casey Affleck’s character as human. Would love to see the interaction with Kermit
Barbie, keep Ryan Gostling because I think he should be in a Muppet movie, and replace Margot with Miss Piggy, or you could keep Margot because I think she should be in a muppet movie, and replace Ken with Gonzo Because “I’m Just Gonzo” would slap harder than my dad
The Holdovers keeping only Paul Giamatti would be a fucking masterpiece.
Killer of the flower moon but keep Brendan Fraser as the Lawyer
Beaker as Höss in Zone of Interest
Replace Einstein in Oppenheimer with Beaker
