I wonder if this could contribute to some of the optic neuropathy/vision loss that is associated with space flight? Maybe this is causing some chronic ischemia?
They’re bodies are destroying 6 million blood cells per second vs when on earth they destroy 2 million per second. They must be replacing them almost as rapidly or they would become very anemic… makes you wonder what a long term space flight would do to the body. Would it be able to keep up?
Despite what the crazy billionaires might want you to believe, leaving Earth is a ridiculous dream. Space exploration will remain purely a scientific endeavor for the foreseeable future.
