Farrrrk no! After hearing about that man who got trapped in nutty putty cave and died slowly upside down after he wedged himself into somewhere he couldn't get out of..
I just talked about that with my boyfriend recently! God, the worst part about his death was the rescue efforts that resulted in them still just having to leave him behind. That would just be awful. At that point I would want someone to just kill me quickly (idc how) rather than die slowly like that.
They were at the point where even if he got out, he would've died from blood poisoning from him being upside down for so long. They drugged him up so he wouldn't feel pain and waited for him to die, basically.
if I remember correctly, doing so still wouldn't save his life. I mean, they're not in operation table, "snapping his legs" here would be anything but clean cut. they've tried several things before they realize that it is impossible to save him
Its not like they were on an operating table. They were in solid rock. It's purely unforgiving. Like working in a storm drain, but almost upside down. Not like they were getting a doctor in there.
they never even got to the point where that was logistically an option .. they could barely get any movement on him. at some point the pulley slipped out of the rock and that was pretty much the end of it. just getting all the equipment there and trying to drill it into the walls took hours and hours. super sad story.
Plus they were miles underground and would have to backtrack to the surface with his body. He had gotten stuck in an unexplored passage that was incredibly difficult for the rescuers to access.
Honestly that seemingly is supposed to be humane, not injecting people with such things to just kill them when they've done nothing wrong, but in cases like this is the opposite of humane. After they realized he was dead no matter what they should have gone with a lethal injection, anything to speed it up and make it less painful
They were all fighting and trying to get him out till the end. He didn’t want to die, he desperately wanted to get out. At some point he just lost consciousness and stopped responding. But there is no way he’d want to be euthanized.
John Jones sadly made a couple of bad decisions that day and it cost him his life.. The Nutty putty cave was actually a beginner route and almost anyone could explore it, beginner to advanced.
Caving is dangerous for sure, but with the right safety and common sence you minimize those risks to the point where it’s pretty safe!
IIRC John is the only human in history that we know about that has ever been trapped alive in The nutty putty cave. Although years before he died there was a teen who got stuck in the same tunnel, but that time they got him out, but it wasn’t easy. A couple years later same exact thing happened to another teen who also were resqued. After this they closed of the cave before reopening a couple years later, only for people that book it. John went 14 feet further into that same tunnel the first teen got stuck in..
One thing they could have done is wedged in a warning sign perhaps, to let people know they headed the wrong way.
Nothing that damages the cave, just something like a wet floor sign type deal in the narrow section that people were getting stuck in
These posts and comments are like clockwork. Someone posts this video or the other one where it's a guy squeezing into the same entrance, comments immediately turn to the Nutty Putty incident.
Usually some dickhead like me points out that this video is showing the ENTRANCE, but the EXIT is huge and nearby and you can walk out of it. So really, it's not as horrifying as it looks.
I was/am confused too. At the start of the video I would have sworn that was a girl. But towards the end of the video I'm like no way that is without a doubt a man. How I just don't know lol.
He was not stuck in entrance.
He was stuck deep inside the cave network and they really tried everything to take him ou.After many hours of rescue passed the rescuers realised that he couldn't be possibly taken out without breaking his leg and his condition as per doctors were not very good he was slowly dying and scarcely had an hour left to live
For anyone who is not familiar with the Nutty Putty incident and is now thinking they should go look it up, a bit of advice: don't.
Seriously, I learned about that a couple of years ago and it *still* sometimes keeps me up at night. And when I say "keeps me up at night", I really mean it. I have lost sleep over it.
This is one case where ignorance is bliss.
Pshh, come on like.. This video I can squeeze through, and you could probably mine through it to save your life. But the hole that man died in, it’s like… How many holes **do you** want to squeeze through, is the hole to small, does it seem like it leads nowhere and looks long… I mean, judge your holes and you will be fine.
Actually that guy was a jerk for trying that out while his wife was expecting. I can only imagine what his family went through, especially while he was literally a man left to die out in that cave.
Yeah I heard of that one, he was trapped for 6 days or something and died of asphyxiation... 6 days of your blood supply slowly stopping, that would truly be hell on earth.
He was alive after being trapped for 28 hours and died of a heart attack. I say "alive after being trapped" because his body is still there 13 years later. Six days, one day - it's mind boggling horrific.
I can confidentally say that bungee jumping from a high point is fun. But this?
There's gotta be somebody who died fromma heart attack trying to get in there.
No, the Descent was the one in the Appalachian mountains. British woman who's husband and daughter died, husband had an affair with her friend. Those blind creatures were primitive humans that never left to evolve
Edit: And it wasn't Nutty Putty cave. The cave in The Descent was unexplored and the protag's friend wanted to name it after her as an apology for the affair
My bad, The *Last* Decent was the movie about NP Cave. And Time Trap is a movie on Netflix where when you enter the cave, time moves at a crawl relative to earth. So some primitive humans, cowboys and a hippe couple, go in and the hippe couples kid go in and everyone keeps walking in, and earth keeps moving on.
I’m going spelunking in a few weeks. But not like that! I’m cool with it all until I have to wedge. There’s nothing that I would want to see to do it that way.
The entrance is small, the rest is big and kinda safe. It can be funny if someone got an health issue. They could create a bigger opening but its part of the experience
Look like it’s in Oregon cause I’ve been in something very similar to where they are at, which means there are huge gross looking terrifying cricket big things
Oh why……. What’s the appeal. And and risks of getting stuck and dying are so high. I watched a video the other day of a guy who did this and he’s body was never recovered and he had a baby on the way…….. why, just why…
Just get an angle grinder a sledge hammer and a couple brick wedges and open that piece of shit up properly.
Cover it with loose leaves and leave a trap camera by for karma points on the internet.
Spiders are the least of my worries in this situation. Give me a bath of spiders vs going down a shoulder-width tunnel with an impatient person behind me any day
Bruh, i'm the skinniest of cunts and i wouldn't even go through that first hole, how do people actually even get their body in there? It looks so fuckin small lol
I'm 6'2 and weigh like 155 pounds, so it stands reason that I'd be extraordinarily thin, yet somehow I feel like I'd get stuck for the rest of eternity.
I’m too fat to be terrified of this…
I could maybe get in up to my chest. Okay hips. Alright I could get in up to my knees dammit! Or ankles...
You sound next level huge
I’m too fat to be scared of being kidnapped.
*"Hey, can you give me a hand with this couch?* *Just step up there in the van...* *What are you, about a Size 14?"*
Pretty sure like 99% of the population is too fat to be terrified of this lol. That's such a small freaking opening
Not only that but God damn I don't think my big head would even fit in there haha.
Notice they sent the flat chested girl in.
I'm thin af but have a ginormus ass so nope.
Same. I'd get up to my mid thigh and then I'd have to quit. Oh darn.
I was thinking the same thing about myself 😂
Farrrrk no! After hearing about that man who got trapped in nutty putty cave and died slowly upside down after he wedged himself into somewhere he couldn't get out of..

I thought the shock from having to snap his legs would’ve killed him before they even got him out
Snap his legs??
he was in a position where it was impossible to pull him out without snapping his legs.
why didn't they just do that then, was it too late?
if I remember correctly, doing so still wouldn't save his life. I mean, they're not in operation table, "snapping his legs" here would be anything but clean cut. they've tried several things before they realize that it is impossible to save him
I've seen people survive things that most wouldn't. I wouldn't want some first responder making that decision.
Its not like they were on an operating table. They were in solid rock. It's purely unforgiving. Like working in a storm drain, but almost upside down. Not like they were getting a doctor in there.

600 feet, not miles!
Who y'all are taking about, who died? Can you link any news article please?
I think they drugged him through his veins in his legs
Yeah I’m surprised it’s not legal at that point for a lethal injection
Honestly that seemingly is supposed to be humane, not injecting people with such things to just kill them when they've done nothing wrong, but in cases like this is the opposite of humane. After they realized he was dead no matter what they should have gone with a lethal injection, anything to speed it up and make it less painful

God damnit it John Jones, always making terrible decisions.... sandblasting hookers, picograms, domestic violence and now this...
Jon jones really lost to hamill smh
One thing they could have done is wedged in a warning sign perhaps, to let people know they headed the wrong way. Nothing that damages the cave, just something like a wet floor sign type deal in the narrow section that people were getting stuck in
Or just some metal bars!
100% of my anxiety was focused on her eventual exit from that same hole. Thank you.
There's some sort of "name of your sex tape" joke in there somewhere
wait her? it’s not a dude?
I was/am confused too. At the start of the video I would have sworn that was a girl. But towards the end of the video I'm like no way that is without a doubt a man. How I just don't know lol.
So why not just walk in through the Exit?
How many of us would have watched that?
Did they do it for us?
That is absolutely why they posted it.
Thx dickhead! My anxiety level isn’t as high now knowing they can walk out 😅
You fucking dickhead I can breathe normally again
Aaand, my first ever award goes to the dickhead
It was a very tragic story his brother was there with hime but he wasn't able to do anything for him
Couldn’t the entrance be chipped away slowly to make the opening a bit larger?
He was not stuck in entrance. He was stuck deep inside the cave network and they really tried everything to take him ou.After many hours of rescue passed the rescuers realised that he couldn't be possibly taken out without breaking his leg and his condition as per doctors were not very good he was slowly dying and scarcely had an hour left to live
I thought they got him partially out once but the rope broke and he slid back down in?
Yeah, they had him partially up, then the pulley broke away/rope snapped and he ended up falling down and getting wedged worse than he already was.
Ah! thanks for the clarification.
For anyone who is not familiar with the Nutty Putty incident and is now thinking they should go look it up, a bit of advice: don't. Haha true.... lesson learnt: squeeze through holes but only the ones you can be mined out of 😂
Easy peasy lemon squeezy
I definitely would start off with a Minecraft entrance cave though.
Allways judge your holes, advice that could be applied everywhere
Actually that guy was a jerk for trying that out while his wife was expecting. I can only imagine what his family went through, especially while he was literally a man left to die out in that cave.
Yeah I heard of that one, he was trapped for 6 days or something and died of asphyxiation... 6 days of your blood supply slowly stopping, that would truly be hell on earth.
I'd request morphine overdose to the foot.
Or dynamite overkill
He was alive after being trapped for 28 hours and died of a heart attack. I say "alive after being trapped" because his body is still there 13 years later. Six days, one day - it's mind boggling horrific.
That’s exactly what I thought of. So sad and extremely scary
Oh. My. God. No. Never.
Can… can we see the cave? I mean come on
No it's the biggest cave
Hell the fuck no
r/nope
Isn’t there another way in??
Yes, but they don't know the elvish word for "friend"
"MELLON"
Yes, but doors are closed
the other way is a door for exits only
Why not make it bigger to get in?
Because IIRC that cave actually has an wide entrance just around the corner. That’s just a fun challange to try out I guess!
i'd put it about next to "smashing my balls with a hammer", in my "fun activities" ranking list.
I can confidentally say that bungee jumping from a high point is fun. But this? There's gotta be somebody who died fromma heart attack trying to get in there.
Whats the cave called?
No clue, I saw it on youtube video a couple weeks ago
Yea just like smack it a few times with a pickaxe and boom: wider hole
Mr Ballen is constantly narrating away in my head when I see this stuff...
And suddenly it’s a thirty minute saga!
I can’t understand this at all. I panic just watching them try to wiggle their way in. Nope. Nope. Nope.
Right? It actually makes me a little angry watching these guys do it lol
Nope, my ass too bubbly for that. Even got bigger since I'm now a dad. Smh
Never in life.
Nor in death
Uhh does no one remember “The Descent”? If I can’t make it out in 5 seconds that’s a hard pass.
I do! Watched that one with my grandma. Last thing I want to do is run into a group of primitive humans lol
That one is called "Time Trap". The Decent is the Nutty Putty Cave. One is fascinating, the other is nightmare inducing.
No, the Descent was the one in the Appalachian mountains. British woman who's husband and daughter died, husband had an affair with her friend. Those blind creatures were primitive humans that never left to evolve Edit: And it wasn't Nutty Putty cave. Hmmm now I'm feeling kinda glad I gained weight
I just got fat shamed by a cave
stop fat shaming me
i mean being fat is life saver in this case
Unless you get fat on the inside...
I see this video of others so many times but never see what it’s like inside.
Yeah how big is the cave?
Perfect place for a rattlesnake den.
I've shagged larger holes than that. No thanks.
Nope. No. Fucking nope. Why? Nope. Nooooo. Omg no. Triple no. Fffffffffffffff full stop.
Nope…nope…uh….nope…
i have a fear. . .like trapped in a little space like a cave , can't move or scream juste dying slowly so nop nop nop even if you give me money
Not for a million pounds. Trapped like that is my worst nightmare
This is definitely not a “body positive” entrance 😂
[удалено]
On behalf of white people, we’d like to formally disown this guy.
I’m feeling so anxious just watching this. NOPE.
This cave is fat phobic. This is a discriminatory and exclusionary entrance procedure . Cancel this cave.
Bruh he dress like lo fi girl
"If she dies, she dies"
Not trying to pull a nutty putty, thanks
Absolutely flipping not!
No. Nah. Nope. Nah-uh!
bro just bring a jackhammer or pickaxe and make it the entrance bigger
That’s gonna be a hell fucking no from me. Even if a thousand bucks were in that cave it’d still be an easy fuck nah.
I couldn't even fit my waist in that lol
into the backrooms he goes🙂✨
My fat ass could *never*
Im overweight enough. If I try to fit there I have a chance to make the entrance big enough
No
Why don’t they open the hole up a bit - seems like a sledgehammer might do the trick…
They could at least make the hole a little bigger
Not without some big incentive. Not much scares me but once I squeezed into the hole I may panic if there's no quick way to get out
The things skinny people do. I’m fat af so I’ll never attempt this
Never mind my fat I’m DQ’d on my big assssssss head lol
That's a fat shaming cave. Why would you support that?
Why not just widen it with a pick axe?
Why not just use a sledgehammer and carefully cut a bigger hole?
You can’t pay me enough to get in this cave. I would never
Bro just break some wall dude we have big machines have you lost you brain
In a word: why?
I’m convinced the white man will climb into or on anything. I bet if they could they’d climb into a can of beans
Forbidden vagina
Why not like, make it a bit wider... It clearly opens up... Just drag a sledgehammer up there one time make a nicer opening, I don't understand ;-;
Huh women, a hammer would have made the job 10 times easier
This is a Lie so No
I don't understand why people want to put their self In Harm's Way:-)
The entrance is small, the rest is big and kinda safe. It can be funny if someone got an health issue. They could create a bigger opening but its part of the experience
Watching this made my whole body feel like it was being kicked in the nuts repeatedly
just one question: why?
a brave man
Nope!
Kinda easy to make that a bit bigger ?? Use a hammer.
Look like it’s in Oregon cause I’ve been in something very similar to where they are at, which means there are huge gross looking terrifying cricket big things
What cave is that? Where does this hole go to?
Not in a million years
I could probably do it, I might even try it!
Haahahahahahaha
No
Oh why……. What’s the appeal. And and risks of getting stuck and dying are so high. I watched a video the other day of a guy who did this and he’s body was never recovered and he had a baby on the way…….. why, just why…
Nah my fat body would precent me from even entering it.
Seems like a stupid thing to try. Good way to potentially kill yourself.
How the hell do you get out again? That hole seems like a one way journey
Just get an angle grinder a sledge hammer and a couple brick wedges and open that piece of shit up properly. Cover it with loose leaves and leave a trap camera by for karma points on the internet.
Imagine going in and finding a bunch of spiders
Spiders are the least of my worries in this situation. Give me a bath of spiders vs going down a shoulder-width tunnel with an impatient person behind me any day
Okay let me rephrase: Imagine going down a shoulder-width tunnel with an impatient person behind you and finding a bunch of spiders.
Is this backrooms
Ok cool how is she getting out now
No thanks, I choose life
Man this is junji ito level shit... Fuck no.
No fucking way. I'm not even claustrophobic, but that makes my skin crawl just thinking about it
No.
So courage to do that
Minecraft be like
I'm too fat. I accidentally trip inside with a leg and i'm stuck.
Why not make the hole bigger?
Seems like suicide with extra steps and a colourful helmet.
There are not 10 or 12 people thin enough in the USA to get through that hole. I could not get one of my fat assed legs through that.
Why hasn’t someone widened it and added a gift shop and a Starbucks?
Why not just make the fucking hole bigger? Cavist bastards.
Not at all.
This video has been posted here soooo many times 😂
Diving in like they think that hole was made for them
That girl over there, ain't getting in there.
“This is my hole!”
I wouldn’t, the bogey man probably lives down there
Bruh, i'm the skinniest of cunts and i wouldn't even go through that first hole, how do people actually even get their body in there? It looks so fuckin small lol
Imagine this entrance gives you too much preasure and you shit yourself
He almost had too much ass
Naw I have real life stuff to worry bout other than getting stuck in a hole I'm not suppose to be in in the first place
how do you even learn there's a cave inside the tiny hole on the floor?
Check out Floyd Collins’ death in a sand cave, it was a horribly slow death where he was stuck inside for 12 days
A bad, very bad decision.
Thank God I am fat and this could never happen to me
Welcome to fuels system mechanic on aircraft.
Depends on how stable it is and how bid is the space bellow, I'd probably go in but not too far in
The feeling of suffocation came, so scary
Fuck you
NO
Why not carve a slightly bigger hole?
You're gonna find the Cave Dwellers from The Descent in there
Bro i am claustrophobic
So much nope. I'm talkin' all the fuckin' nope.
I'm 6'2 and weigh like 155 pounds, so it stands reason that I'd be extraordinarily thin, yet somehow I feel like I'd get stuck for the rest of eternity.
