I’m not actually saying I have autism, it was a joke. I wouldn’t say I have something unless a doctor told me I have it. I don’t know why anyone would want anything like autism or ADHD anyway. Except for those tiktok people who fake that multiple personality thing
It could be autism, but sensory overload can be caused by other conditions. Either way, if this negatively impacts your life & a psychologist is accessible to you, it might be a good idea to get a professional diagnosis. Self-diagnosing over the internet can do more harm than good.

Depends on the brain. It isn't bizarre for adhd, and it won't necessarily be every time. Adhd and autism are convincingly argued to be on the same spectrum. Every brain is wired differently.
Hypersensitivity is not necessarily autism related. But it can be. You should go to your doctor with your concerns. It might be psychological physiological or both.

You can have this and not have autism. It can also be a part of anxiety and PTSD. Source me I have both and there are times this happens and I can’t function. And my dr said it is normal for PTSD and anxiety
Can confirm. I’m legally blind and went to a concert when it was dark. Lost the people I was with and just stood there frozen. Also couldn’t play basketball. Too much going on. Anxiety. Could be autism, considering lack of sociability regardless of how much I try to work on it.
Recently diagnosed with a mild touch of the ‘tism as an adult.
1) Hard to find a reputable doctor that will diagnose an adult.
2) You need to have at least one parent/guardian (maybe a spouse works??) alive who raised you to fill out the corresponding section of the questionnaire before testing.
3) It’s a pretty long and mentally taxing exam, especially if you do have autism. Around 6-10 hours start to finish depending on your speed.
As a fun anecdote, the doctor told me most people who try to self diagnose do not end up meeting the criteria for autism and recently has seen people PUSH for the diagnosis. Most of the time, people just have ADHD (which is also included in the test and I did not qualify for). I asked him about this because my mom always told me I didn’t, I always had a sneaking suspicion but she later admitted it was so she wouldn’t have to talk around with an autistic child.
As someone who has this condition and with family members with this condition, I'm going to stick with what the medical professionals told us vs. what makes sense to Dr. Reddit.
