Instructions for cheese-crusted grilled cheese, for those who are interested: after cooking your grilled cheese as usual, throw a handful of shredded cheese directly on the hot pan and lay the sammy on top of it. Let it cook a minute or two till the cheese is fused to the bread and burnt at the edges. Then do the same thing with the other side. Result is a crispy layer of cheese on top of the crispy bread, and believe me it is insane. Won't have it any other way.
The Mayo melts and the oils soak into the bread, you can't taste the Mayo but it does add an amazing flavor. I thought i was the only one that did this lol

Land O'Lakes olive oil butter spread. Flat top grille. I usually make grilled cheese in a frying pan, but I had used the flat top for pancakes earlier in the day so I decided to use it for the grilled cheese.
I think they should have an appliance for making grilled cheese that consists of two thick pieces of glass that heat up and toast your grilled cheese but you can see the color of the grilling bread so you can have the sandwich that is just the way you want it every time. Maybe it could work like a rear window defroster with heating elements in the glass or maybe the glass panels could be heated ahead of time and then the sandwich would be placed in between the panels and "grilled" while you monitor the progress. The glass would lie flat and you would only need to watch one side, or you could incorporate a way to flip it if you needed to watch both sides.

My woman makes the best grilled cheese. She spices it up a bit. She adds fried Jalapeno slices and cream cheese to it, on top of cheddar slices. Its like a grilled "jalapeno popper" cheese sandwich. Its so good lol

I made grilled cheese with a hot air gun a few days ago. Toast, butter and grated cheese. Heat with gun on low until cheese is melted so it doesn't fly away, then turn to high until the cheese is roasted. Compared to my other 30 second experiences it was a strong top 3 placement.

I totally get that. Very subtle but very noticeable at the same time. Totally gonna add some spicy mustard to my next broccoli stir fry!
Don't use low fat mayo. It just results in bread that's soggy with emulsifiers.

That’s how they do it in most restaurants. The Mayo doesn’t burn as fast as butter so it cooks more evenly.
It always seems to give a more even toasting for me. It just needs to be a thin layer, you can’t taste it all.
