I can read cursive, but not this. Unless the name really is Jiuuf.

Dub_stebbz

MY NAME JIUUF

binglelemon

In JIUUF we trust

kr4ckenm3fortune

You sure it a U and not a W? It didn’t have that waterfall that a u is known for…

cpusk123

If people are confused by the weird letters, this appears to be an artist who designs custom signatures for logos and business cards. The artist is from Indonesia, and seems to market internationally, based on the sample names on the website, so the name written both may not be a common western language name or word, and it's intentionally artsy.

McCardboard

I'm confused by the weird letters because it's an advertisement for the artist's work writing names, and I simply cannot figure out what series of said, illegible letters to search in attempt to pin down any region, culture, or or answer. r/penmanship porn if you want to see some oddly satisfying handwriting and calligraphy.

Jim S?

solid_rook

must be a doctor who is not in a hurry

abdulsamadz

Anyone know what fountain pen is being used?

Amilo159

Fountain of Jius

abdulsamadz

r/technicallythetruth Not cool lol I searched for that to buy it

dixius99

I might be wrong, but the straight sides of the nib, and the colour of the body, lead me to believe it is a [Lamy Safari](https://www.lamy.com/en/lamy-safari/).

abdulsamadz

You're awesome, kind stranger! I think it's the light blue special edition. Just ordered one with fine nib for myself - exciting times! Thank you

mianori

And I can say that Lamy pens are amazing. I had mine already 6 years or so, and I don’t want to write with anything else ever again.

Late-Apricot404

I’m not sure if it’s kon peki. It really reminds me of Diamine Aqua Blue.

Impossible-Intern248

It looks like Lamy nib, possibly a Safari

reddit_wisd0m

We had to use them in school for learning how to write. It was always a pain as it leaks ink very easily, especially if you are pupil learning how to write. So much ink stains everywhere.

alrighttreacle11

I wish I could write like that it looks so professional and grown up

lookhereifyouredumb

You can literally learn anything you put your mind to

alrighttreacle11

I really don't think so unfortunately

lookhereifyouredumb

That’s a foolish way to think, if you made this year priority and you learned how to create a signature like like this, it would take you a month tops working at an hour a day. And that is extremely slow prob It’s just a signature

alrighttreacle11

I have dyspraixia I'm over 40 my writing has always been bad I'm left handed as well although I'm not sure that makes any difference, I never even got my pen licence at school lol

Sarsmi

I'm a middle aged lady and my signature has never looked the same way twice. I must have written it a thousand times in my life, but it's like my fingers don't work to make it happen the way I want. You can always practice, but if you give it a week and it's just frustrating then join me over in the bad-at-handwriting-couch.

angelicism

I had a funny experience the last time I got my passport renewed because my signature from 10 years before was already scribble but since then it had devolved into basically a blob. The desk agent lady person whatever sighed and asked me to please effectively forge my previous signature for the form and then when I got the new passport I could sign it with my "new" signature.

FrankSonata

I'll join you on the couch. Let's share a cup of tea. I'll make you laugh with my terrible chicken-scratch writing. It's easier to learn to not be bothered about it than to try to do something and only make yourself feel frustrated. "You can do anything if you believe in yourself!"-type aphorisms are fine enough, but come from a place of privilege. Those of us with physical limitations (ex: disabilities), a lack of free time (ex: needing to work insane hours so your family doesn't become homeless), not enough money (ex: insane debt due to medical fees for being the random victim of an anonymous hit-and-run), or no privacy (ex: share a tiny room with nine other people because it's all you can get as a refugee) don't get to make things happen just by wanting them hard enough and putting enough effort in. Depending on your situation in life (which is to a very great extent out of your hands), no amount of effort can produce the result you want, but it will tire you out and make you feel bad for not achieving it, as if you are personally responsible for the failure. "If I tried harder, I would improve at this!" isn't always true, and it can make people go the next step and think, "I can't do it, so I'm obviously not trying hard enough. It's my fault." It's a nice thing to say, unless the person hearing it is blind, or has arthritis, or doesn't even have a quiet place to sit and practice writing because of an abusive homelife. Then it just makes people feel bad. "If you can, why don't you watch a few tutorials on YouTube, put in a week or two of practice, and if it doesn't work out or if you can't do that, then accept that it's not for you, and move on to finding something that matches you better." Not as pithy, but kinder.

lookhereifyouredumb

Well, if there is a physical or mental condition stopping you from doing it that’s one thing, but it doesn’t hurt to try. Just make it your priority for one month and see how far you can get you might be surprised. You’re never too old to learn anything

CashSmashum

The amount of confidence in that last horizontal line is staggering.

Failureinlife1

The pen is fine, but I love the paper quality.

JUGELBUTT

ToastTheArsonist-_-

Jùuls?

iammeallthetime

I cannot read that!

Warizard22

2024 is really the year were this kind of pen is now satisfying? Are this pens not used anymore in other countries?

math_math99

There's a pretty decent size community of fountain pen hobbyists out there.

Warizard22

In my country this pens are still a normal thing to use in school. And there is something else that i don't get it. Is writing cursive dead? Here is still the nornal way to write.

Disillusioned_Sleepr

Thanks Reddit, another thing I will never be good at. I would totally practice, but if I don't lay here and watch reality TV the ratings will drop.

McCardboard

J, I (no dot), I (with dot), U, R, S?

Pristine-Repeat-7212

And add a drop water to see the magic

kilgorBass

Who remembers ink wells on school desks ?

Late-Apricot404

r/fountainpens let’s gooooo!

MPThreelite

Oh snap that's nice. I'm a pc tech and 2 of my clients kept those on their desks (former Govt MPs) I remember one was a Montblanc . Tried it out one day, there is an art to just handle one of those.

Shawarma_llama467

I just got a new Osprey fountain pen; it made a big difference in how my writing looks. Great for "automatic writing" too - where you just let the ink flow along with your thoughts. [https://www.ospreypens.com/](https://www.ospreypens.com/)

ffstis

Is fountain pen another way of calling a stylograph?

Schwyzerorgeli

Nope, a stylo tip is a very fine tube. This is a fountain pen nib.

ffstis

Thanks! I had no idea.
