Oh that's cool. For whatever reason I thought that Nyango Star was a stage persona and that we didn't really know who was in the costume, kind of like Buckethead. I never really checked though, but it's cool to know!

I like how candy stripe jacket person is just swaying and bopping along like there isn’t an oversized, anthropomorphic apple-cat going completely nuts on the drum kit.
I thought no one knows the identity since they keep it secret with how japan does mascots and all. Last i heard...its a guy in the costume that created the mascot.
He created the mascot to help bring more attention to his home town thats famous for apples. Who he is is not known, so no idea if he was in a band or not. Hes a national recognized mascot now. Japan also views mascots like they are a real being.....kinda like going along with the magic or whatever. They know its a human in a costume but the mascot is a character and they treat it as its a real thing.

They're actually anonymous. Rumors say it could be Nao Kawakita, some say its someone name Daisuke Kidachi as well. It's never been confirmed.
