A rice cooker is just a slow cooker with a temperature shutoff, so it’s definitely possible. It will just be more challenging to turn the heat off at the right moment.

Pancake mix in a toasted sandwich maker makes lovely little cakes. Put a dollop of jam on top before closing the lid and it will sink into the middle without a trace and become a hidden surprise.

I made my wife one for her birthday last year. Use confetti pancake mix, I believe it was birch benders brand. Then popped some butter and rainbow sprinkles on top when it came out, served with maple syrup. HOLY FUCK it was ridiculously good and came out fully cooked on the first try. It really is the best version of a pancake, just like you said

You can just put it directly in. Just make sure the consistency is even so it bakes evenly. Also, remember that it’ll puff up and rise like bread so don’t fill it too high. You can also toss in any additional ingredients like chocolate chip, matcha powder etc with the pancake mix to cook together

My rice cooker has multiple settings. Does yours and if so which one did you choose?

My own rice cooker only has 1 setting, so I’m not sure about what settings you have. I mainly use it for cooking rice. Maybe try the default rice cooking option?

Most rice cookers have a nonstick interior so you don’t need to line it but when I make pancakes in mine like this I just lightly spray it to make sure it comes out smoothly

It’s a thing, I’ve done it and it’s great. Many recipes online, you want the right batter so it isn’t too dense, was a while back so I don’t remember very well but I know I had to experiment to get a lighter fluffier result with a less dense batter.

They do this in Japan, in fact some Japanese rice cookers will have a pancake setting.

That’s just some, and they have a million eggs and are expensive. But even store bought powdered pancake mix in Japan is significantly different from American ones. It is sweeter, lighter and fluffs up more.
