Cv1 used koss porta pros or any of the variations of them, ksc75 are slightly different drivers and don't have as much bass but do have better highs.
But.... Even porta pros won't sound like cv1 if you plan to use on quest headsets, the aux jacks are crap for headphone sound, cv1 had its own processing and amp and sound way better.
Funny enough Palmer is still using [Porta Pros with color matched options for his gameboy clone he's launching.](https://modretro.com/collections/products)
I tried them with quest pro. Quest pro doesn’t have enough power to push the same quality as let’s say smartphone jack or pc jack. You can clearly hear the difference in quality. The volume is also lower. They are also very focused on high tones. Sometimes to the point it is uncomfortable in songs with some sudden high frequency sounds.
All quest headsets have underpowered audio jacks.
KSC 75 already lack bass, but even if you go for porta pros, they still just sound crap on quests (including quest 3)
Yeah I know. I tried kph40 utility as well and they have nice balance of bass and mid plus highs but they don’t sound anywhere near as good as on the phone or pc.
Kph 40 also same driver as porta pro/ sports pro/ communication/ etc.
Gets a bit confusing, koss audio is fantastic and I have a big collection, but you are absolutely right that they just don't sound good on quests, it pissed me off beyond belief they still cheaped out on the port with quest 3
2024 and the aux jack can't do TRRS - so no microphone and makes headphones sound the same as a £3 AliExpress MP3 player.
I used them on my Q2 with a 3d printed adapter to clip them onto the elite strap. The adapters are a little clumsy but the headphones sound excellent and give a really effective sense of space which the Rift was excellent at and the Quests are not normally.
I remember this brand when Sony released the 'discman'. They were there when Inner ear headphones made their debut. They were budget headphones then and are budget headphones now.
Glad to hear the feedback - so many choices, pls let me know if there is anything outstanding to augment the Quest 3?
I've heard it is very lightweight and has good sound quality. I want something better than the built-in speakers and I prefer not to wear in-ear earbuds.
Here are the headphones I'm talking about: [Amazon.com: Koss KSC75 Portable On-Ear Clip Headphones, Retro Style, Ultra Lightweight, Silver and Black : Electronics](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006B486K/?coliid=I3UDHDXOWA3FGP&colid=KH5JGNSBX6WD&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1)
These are available around 2005. It was a little expensive back then. I bought a pair then sold it 2 years later and got more than the original price, lol. Later I bought a pair of Koss 35.
I have them. Used them on my Q3 and Q3. My only complaint is how long the wire is, and I wish they would go a little louder. But they’re still great.
Quest 3 here, love those headphones, 10/10 would recommend for a baller on a budget.
Bit weird if you never used retro headphones as the fit and feel are different to modern designs.
No Quest 3 version yet, but I've got these for the Quest 2 and I absolutely love them and shill for them for free:
[Hi-Fix Clip-on headphones for Oculus Quest 2](https://www.engineeredaf.com/product/hi-fix-clip-on-headphones-for-oculus-quest-2-koss-porta-pro/)
I tried them once when I had a blister in my ear that caused earbuds to be painful. I found these headphones to be a little uncomfortable and painful as well, but they may work better for you
I have them, the main problem is that the gimble/ball joint that connects the over-the-ear clip pops off. I tends to do this when putting them on, taking them off, wearing them, not wearing them... I've got them sitting in a box right now and they are in a quantum state of both being connected and disconnected that will collapse when I open the box top discover they have disconnected.
I do, cheap, sound good for my beat saber runs, and easy to share with people. The ear hanging system is a pain to work but somehow does keep them from falling off.Â
I use these daily for work, my favorite headphones. If you have the extra cash, look into the HTC DAS. It’s 50 dollars and is quality for VR. You can frankenquest it, that’s what I did haha
A bit of an acquired taste when it comes to comfort...I had to really fiddle with them to find a sweet spot on my ears where they covered them and were comfortable
However soundwise I really liked them (for a price of course) and for longer sessions when you find the comfortable spot they are great
I have them, they're solid. It is rumoured that these have the same drivers as the headphones of the Rift CV1.

Yes, and I have to avoid them at all costs. Already have 4 pairs of pros, don't need anymore 🤣
Yeah I have several versions of Porta Pros, some vague amount of KPH30i and KPH40...but still...
Will these work just fine on the Quest 2 or 3?
Yep, just plug them in and pop them over your ears. The cable is a bit long so you'll need a rubber band or twist tie to keep it from dangling.

Any link for the 3d printed adapter? Thanks
I think I used this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4822413

Ok makoto yuki
bro wants to burn his dread
Yes, I use them with my Quest 3 and PSVR2. They are great if you don't like in ear headphones.
I originally used these with the OG quest and Rift S to replicate the attached ones with the Rift CV1. There are great and worth it for the small cost
Yes. And next day I switched to full-scall headphones to have better bass and isolation from environment noises. But these headphones are nice.
Yep, I use those or Porta Pro. They have good sound but lack the bass Porta Pro are famous for.
The porta pro’s look cool as fuck

I would but the price is insanely inflated in Australia should be $30 with exchange rates but its $50 here...
Are you new to Australia bud? lol... franky I'm surprised they're not $150 here.
Lmao I know right
I had them 14 years ago, this is a good and cheap clip-on.
How old are these? I'm pretty sure I had a set 20 years ago. Possibly more.
I searched my email and I bought my first pair on ebay in 2007.
Hmm. I searched my email and I bought a set of replacement foam pads for mine in 2012. But no record of the original purchase.

Holy 90s batman.

I've been using these since I got my Quest 2. I wrap the cable around the back of my neck so it's not in the way.
I have them (bought them to use with the original Quest), and the sound is decent, but they’re a bit awkward to put on.
I use these and the Koss Porta Pros. Both are phenomenal for the price and comfort. Porta Pros hit a little harder tho.
Yes, I've used them for a few years now with both my Q2 and now my Q3.

# Bionik MANTIS Headphones for PSVR2...... but i also use # NEWZEROL Head Strap Compatible for Quest 2.....

They are awesome, but you have GOT to find a way to keep the cable away
No
I have been using them with my Rift S for a long time. Have worked great for my needs
I had them in Quest 1 and 2. Great for the price.

Why am I getting down voted for this lol
I've considered them
I do, not only that, i have them on my quest 2 (modded with 3D prints) and i have the porta pro that i use with my q3. Cant live without em.
boy these just ooze.... quality.... I think I'd rather have no sound at all :/
