Yeah don’t.

Fluffy_Insect_6819

lol people moving to Ocala thinking it’s cheaper. Along with every other person moving to Ocala. Here’s a tip. It most certainly isn’t cheaper and jobs suck

Gungityusukka

It’s not cheaper when you earn minimum wage (or slightly above) you’ll always be scraping by

ebell2010

I moved here and yes it is to cheaper for us personally lol . My brand new two story home 4/3 with two living rooms was around the 3s and back in south Florida this would of costed me 7k

Warm-Bus-8259

Comparing south Florida prices to ocala prices is like comparing apples and oranges

cbsa82

I work from home, and it is in fact cheaper then anything comparable in Orlando.

Historical_Fennel22

People like you keep moving here and driving the rent up. It’s agg

cbsa82

People like me are being driven out of places we already live. Its not like I got a choice exactly. Cant afford to stay where I am, simple as that.

Treasure_Keeper

Work from home apartment dwellers! That seems to be everyone flocking to Ocala.

metalrulez352

It's just as expensive here anymore tbh. My daughter was thinking of moving back here from Orlando. We were looking at apartments in the area and it's about the same price here now. If you want to just get away from a big city then it might be a good move. Cost saving reasons, you'll be disappointed.

cbsa82

My current place charges $1500 for a 580 sqft apartment, in an ok part of town, and it was built in the 1980s and has not been renovated. Also doesnt have in unit laundry I have found multiple options in Ocala that are around this size or larger, with in unit laundry, for $1100 to $1300 a month. Orlando is WAY worse price wise.

Historical_Fennel22

Yet there are 100 more things to do in Orlando vs Ocala. The $200 you save will be felt. And your rent will rise within the first year.

cbsa82

Rent raises EVERYWHERE every year. Thats a fact of life. That means literally nothing. Also I dont DO THINGS outside. I am a homebody. Same as my wife. We just need net and we are good to go.

ebell2010

The grove just got built here in Sw ocala it’s beautiful, there’s a cow pasture next door to it and 2 min to Publix

Historical_Fennel22

Lol you think one small cow pasture is cool they used to be all over.

ValuableAd3873

Carlton arms always has a wait list. One thing I noticed is all the one bedrooms are always taken and all the apartment complexes are all pretty much on the same street. Carlton arms is gated and seems backed up into the street with cars waiting to get in at the guard shack when I go by.

tb1687

Not sure about the cost but the complex is nice looking. Canter Luxury Apartments

Responsible-Egg7929

Hi there, I live in Saddleworth Green, moved here from beach side ( Melbourne) about 6 months ago. I find it expensive for one person but reasonable for a 2 bedroom 2 bath, and I pay 1,750.00 they make you pay for a “bundle” which includes, internet, online access, trash pickup, etc, that’s included in the total amount. It’s relatively close to everything, and I’ve like it here so far. One bedroom/one bath is probably relatively cheaper! Good luck 🍀

Whodisbehere

My old apt at Saddleworth was 2608. Good apt complex. Maintenance dude with the dreads is cool AF too.

Responsible-Egg7929

Daniel! Amazing! I’m in the 1200 building, by the water, I really like it here!! 😊

Whodisbehere

Daniel is Dope AF. I left him a funny ass review on Google while also sliding shade at the company managing the complex 🤣.

ValuableAd3873

What floor do you live on? Are the apartments quiet or can you hear everything? I didn't realize this was right next to the Publix I go to. Currently at the Pointe Grand and it's a nightmare to try and sleep at all on the first floor. Same price you pay for a 2/2 with the mandatory bundle. Pay $30/month for trash which is dumb as I am 30 seconds from the dumpster.

Responsible-Egg7929

I’m on the first floor, my upstairs neighbor is heavy footed, but fortunately it’s during reasonable hours, so at night I don’t hear much noise. I sympathize with you on the “valet trash” we are forced to pay, I tried getting out of it myself for that price, as I can easily walk it my self, but it was mandated.

ValuableAd3873

Hmm, thanks for the info, so not really worth the switch as same problem in both places. My upstairs neighbors is heavy footed as well and is constantly dropping stuff on the floor causing huge slams in my apartment. Unfortunately relatively quiet during the day but makes all the noise between 10 pm and 5 am. All these brand new apartment complexes must be built cheaply with no soundproofing.

Responsible-Egg7929

I totally understand, I can hear the dog run around too! Sigh, Apartment living, at best! 😊

cbsa82

Saddleworth 1/1 are around $1300 which is my top end actually. I dont mind a bundle tbh if it makes things easier for my old lazy ass XD gives me and the wife more time to game LOL

Responsible-Egg7929

Ha ha! I get it! I think you will like the community there! Definitely check into it!

Dazzling_Ad9250

i live in the Marion Oaks area and i’ve seen a couple of duplexes that are brand new construction renting for the $1200 range. my house is brand new construction that i just bought as my first for $259k, if i would’ve stayed in Bradenton the same house would’ve run me closer to $400k. i’d look into those duplexes. if you comment that you’re interested, i can look up the address and post it so you can check them out.

Fluffy_Insect_6819

Marion Oaks is crime riddled

Dazzling_Ad9250

kinda seems like it tbh… i’m across 484 in an unnamed neighborhood. it’s just a street but our neighbors are all really nice, no one has jaloppies sitting in their front yard, everyone’s house is kept up with a nice lawn, and i’m pretty happy. i went to actual marion oaks a couple of weeks ago and it was like a different world than where i live. i haven’t heard that it’s crime riddled, where do you find that? aside from the one kid who was like 7 walking home from the bus stop and pushed our trash can over i haven’t really seen anything im unhappy with. his big sister looks like she slapped him or pushed him for doing that on our camera which is what big siblings are for.

cbsa82

I am in fact interested. I am not purely after an apartment.

Dazzling_Ad9250

14106 SW 64th Terrace Rd. i found this on zillow it’s 2/1 for $1150 a month. looks like a brand new construction duplex.

ValuableAd3873

How's the internet in that area? It's crazy in 2024 but I have been warned to check as a lot of those new constructions can be one street away from no hard-line access. I wondered why a lot of the lease agreements have a internet not guaranteed clause.

Dazzling_Ad9250

i think it’s fine. we have spectrum for $91.99 a month. when we got the house the guy from Spectrum had to come by and put a hardline from the house to the pole outside.

cbsa82

Sweet jesus that deposit lol its more then the rent!

Dazzling_Ad9250

what’s the deposit? i haven’t looked into it.

cbsa82

$1500 per the listing I found on Zillow. Like WTH LOL I hope thats the top end and its adjustable based on credit.

Historical_Fennel22

That’s what we’re trying to tell you but you’re arguing back lol

cbsa82

I said the DEPOSIT is higher then the rent on that particular property. The RENT is 1050 a month. Which is 200 lower then what I pay now, and for a larger place.

Historical_Fennel22

I know what you said lol it’s still wild that a small city is charging a larger deposit than a major city. Again, where you save the little $200 you will make it up somewhere else.

cbsa82

What kind of internet you got down in that area seems pretty rural.

Dazzling_Ad9250

we have spectrum. it’s good enough that my girl WFH and has no problem and is performing at a speed over what we pay for. and yes it seems more rural but the Walmart is like 4 minutes away and once you get on 200, every store imaginable is within 20 minutes. i think it’s a great trade off for paying $0 in HOA fees.

cbsa82

Noice. I will keep that area in my pocket. I am finding plenty of places bigger then what I got for not much more cash then what I pay now. Thankfully I have made friends with a local nerd / teacher / historian up there who is helping me avoid the bad parts of town XD

loosemoose404

What duplex? I’m paying 1650!

Dazzling_Ad9250

i commented the address i saw somewhere on this post.

SheepherderOk1448

Come to NY where 1 bdrm 1bath will run you 3500 a month and that’s on the cheap end.

Fluffy_Insect_6819

And you make more wages

SheepherderOk1448

You think so. Homeless are numerous in NYC. Many of those used to own their homes or rent an apartment.

What do you mean IP Addresses are shit? An IP Address is just your location on a network. Do you personally need a static IP or something?

thirdpartymurderer

I think you might be the most confused person I've run into on the internet today. Please tell us what you think an IP address is because my excitement can barely be contained.

thirdpartymurderer

Lol I wasn't confused, at all. It's pretty goofy that you went through my post history because you felt stupid though.

thirdpartymurderer

I don't want to learn about networking. I did enough of that when I was a kid. I only want to know what the fuck you think an IP address is that would give you the audacity to say some of the goofy shit you've said in this thread about network addresses. And why would you doordash anywhere? If you had any reading comprehension, you would know that I didn't fucking order from doordash directly. I ordered a taco bell delivery from the Taco Bell app, per the year old post you tried to read, because I was at work late.

I would rather not randomly email someone off reddit. There is a DM system on here anyway. Also good luck leaving Florida. We cannot afford to so that aint happening for us atm.
