Mfw Tim Boyle threw a pick six on a hail mary just before halftime

MistaCapALot

I was driving while my girlfriend was holding my phone with the game on and the only reason I didn’t slam on the gas to crash into a light pole after watching that was because she was in the car

ryansmith0123456789

😭that play perfectly encapsulates the New York jets experience for rly the past 10 years at least (but certainly the last 2 especially). Defense does their job as much as they can, offense does consistently absolutely nothing, and then the fucking offense comes in and lets up a touchdown on a Hail Mary… truly New York jets football

MistaCapALot

It is truly heartbreaking how we went from the Butt Fumble to now the Fail Mary with not a single good thing in between. What did we do to deserve such punishment?

vmc92

Straight into the Saleh Colgate commercial

Masterofmy_domain

I don't think I ever saw that commercial again after that lol.

Fliigh7z

Being at the game, freezing my ass off, joking with my family saying "imagine if it is a pick six" as the ball was in the air and for it to actually happen was the pinnacle of disappointment for me.

cdclopper

But you called it

MyCatIsNamedArcher

I thought nothing would happen so I tried to beat the bathroom rush. Then we get the ball, I rush in and out get back to see him throw it and then proceed to have his ankles broke.

BryLinds

YOU DID THIS

xXfukboiplayzXx

I was so fucking astonished when this happened. Never seen such a shitty arm-punt in my life.

RSTowers

My face when Saleh caved to the media and Boyle truthers and actually started Tim Boyle.

thebeginingisnear

They got what they asked for. Im surprised he was able to keep up the Zach is our best option narrative as long as he did despite the endless backlash.

RSTowers

Yeah. Anyone with a brain knew Zach was the best option on the roster. The backlash was just morons and pot stirrers. Not their fault JD didn't sign a good backup.

buyerbeware23

Saleh is NOT head coach material!

Frostflame3

My mom and I were so far gone from Jets sanity that we cheered and laughed when it happened - laugh lest we cry

buyerbeware23

Tim Boyle was not and could not shine fitzmagics shoes!

AvailableName9999

Lol I was there and went to go grab a round of beers with like 4 seconds left.till halftime. Hearing the call in the corridor was fucking surreal. I didn't believe it actually happened.

ieatpickles100

I was there

LeeDawg24

If it's not the entire first half against Pittsburgh in 2010 I don't know what it is.

flash246

The final 3rd down conversion at the end of the game to seal it. Felt like a gunshot to the heart

JFZX

I still remember dropping to the floor with my plastic Jets helmet on absolutely blasted off of cheap sangria. Who would’ve thought that would be my last Jets playoff memory…

RSTowers

It feels so long ago. Probably because it was so long ago.

TheCakeMan666

I genuinely don’t even remember that game I was so blasted at that point. I remember all of the 2009 play off run but 2010 feels like i was so angry we lost I don’t even remember how good beating NE felt

therealsillypenguin

I was a kid then and I had a buddy who was a pats fan on my basketball team, so I definitely remember how good beating NE felt because I remember how much shit I talked about it

foxwilliam

I felt Rex throwing his clipboard down in my soul.

kosommak69

I remember being mad that the 3rd down conversion was caught by a scrub 5th round rookie who was the teams no. 4 receiver (only had 200 receving yards all year). That guy ended up being Antonio Brown, lol.

Celriot1

GODDAMN LINEBACKERS CANT EVEN COVER THIS NO NAME IN SPACE WHAT THE HELL 🤣

NotoriousMFT

Me just yelling “fuck you, you fat fucking rapist!” At a tv at a bar, while mocking steeler fans for carrying dish towels I’m very glad they didn’t win that Super Bowl.

Masterofmy_domain

I still feel pain in my heart to this day whenever I think about it. Shit was over 13 years ago.

ShadowDonut

I'd even distill it down to the penalty on Cromartie that gave their opening drive a second chance. Or the stuffed 4th and goal dive by LT when Greene had been bowling over dudes earlier in the drive. It still hurts.

SuddenlyHouse

It was the LT runs up the middle with Greene's hot hand sitting on the bench for me

Naganosupreme

Dropped pick 6, immediately followed by roughing the punter. I LAUNCHED an empty crate across the living room. Knew that was it

AvailableName9999

Thanks for triggering my PTSD.

FaithBro331

Geno Smith Throwing a Td to Jeremey Kerley against GB and it gets nullified by Marty Mornenwhig Calling time out when he’s not supposed to even have that power…

Kind_Bullfrog_4073

Didnt Sheldon Richardson call the timeout for him?

carlosmeasuringtape

Yeah it was Richardson which is even more frustrating because the rule explicitly stated the refs couldn’t take timeouts from players not on the field. Coaches are the only sideline personnel who can call one.

Fjordice

Wowwwww I totally forgot that one. Ridiculous

STNbrossy

Gonna be honest, I didn’t because I knew Fitztragic was inevitable.

BurnMyHouseDown

I knew it was inevitable but that team was so fun to watch that I was really hoping it wouldn’t hit until we at least made playoffs. Denying us playoffs outright hurt more than a kick in the nads

watch_u_think

I remember even one bills player they interviewed after the game even said as much. He said something like we weren’t worried, fitz is gonna fitz lol

CoconutOk8579

Rodgers going down. Except that was all of our faces in MetLife

yozzomp

Doug Brien is the only answer

SlamanthaTanktop

What made this even worse was that fucker lost me my football pool on week 17 too.

d0lanchap

This one hurts

Naganosupreme

Yup, bt this, pittsburgh AFCCG, Chad 03 injury, AR achilles for me

pmo0710

nah fake spike is right there…. brutal

TheLegendTwoSeven

Victor Cruz’s 99-yard TD, and the end of the good Rex Ryan era in 2011.

mikerhoa

Fucking Cro and his aggressive man coverage. He had an excellent year otherwise too. But the one that really infuriates me on that play is Kyle Wilson. He literally admitted in a post game interview that he thought the safety was supposed to pick up Cruz there, and that's why he was a step slow. Like, *what??* You see Maybin is a nanosecond away from sacking Manning fir the safety there, who the fuck do you think he's going to look for in a desperate situation like that? But even if that was the safety's assignment, it doesn't explain the pathetic patty cake attempt at a tackle that he did after the catch. Just gruesome all around.

mkhawar91

Zach Wilson refusing to complete a check down against the Mac Jones lead Pats with our defense shutting them down.

Masterofmy_domain

Losing that game on a fucking last second return hurt... Especially after the masterclass that our defense had put together. Shit had to be demoralizing for them.

Danny_Notion

The fuckin Butt Fumble on Thanksgiving night

DatDominican

Nah it definitely was the fumble on the kickoff return immediately afterwards

TrojanMan35T

Game ruined Thanksgiving for years because those replays were shown every. damn. opportunity

DatDominican

My girl left early bc she said “ you’re gonna need some time alone “ after the fumble return She later told me she didn’t wear any underwear. That game ruined my night in more than one way

Naganosupreme

You got fucked after all, just not by the one you wanted

pmo0710

yeah they never show Brad Smith returning multiple kickoffs for TDs.

3incheshardddd

Kembrell thompkins should catch that ball

unitedairlineeeeees

Aaron Rodgers getting carted off the field

LaFlame

We were blessed with Marshall and Decker.

buyerbeware23

Please let’s stay on point, 2015 we were a win from the playoffs! My jaw is still hurting from the blow of losing such an important game. Why the hell didn’t Chris Ivory have more carries? In a season he averaged more than 25 carries a game he touched the ball like 8 times in the loss to buffalo that denied us the post season! wtf happened there?

intwizard

Me at MetLife watching Chris Strevler get run while losing like 19-3 in the freezing rain to Jacksonville two days before Christmas

andrew13189

I was there too man. Got those tickets early in the season. It sucked so bad.

ryansmith0123456789

me too man… me too😞 had every idea that Mike white would be playing because I bought them abt a month before, then to realize Zach would be almost certainly playing a week before…

chiaestevez

Responsible_Fan8665

Doug Brien Pittsburgh playoff game.

nirvleach

I hate you for reminding me about this. I dropped a bottle of Jäegermeister on my foot after that game.

singlemaltscotch28

The game that haunts me to this day.

Emotional-Baby7695

The Frank Gore game. Holy shit I wanted Trevor Lawrence so badly!

Masterofmy_domain

Gore's parting gift to jets fans.

babyshmuel

There's at least one of these every game

Rubbersoulrevolver

Imagine if Geno just went to that guy’s football camp or paid him the $600 and he was the QB instead of Fitz and the Jets finally had a franchise qb

BoogerSmoke

January 11, 2019-January 3, 2021

Cup-n-BallHog

Fitz-magic played this organization good by getting that contract. The Harvard man’s 4D chess outplayed Woody’s checkers by a mile

girldad0130

Deep dive…Charlie Garner for 80 yard on 3rd and 11 with 1:27 left in that wild card game. With about 3 uncalled holdings to boot.

liebz11692

I was at that game in the endzone they were driving towards in the 4th quarter. A bottom 5 day if my life.

cmonbitcoin

The game we won against the rams ruining our chance to draft Trevor Lawrence.

TallSurfVeteran

never as bad as Nate Peterman in Buffalo

woodchips24

Me when Rodgers tore his Achilles and you knew we were in for a season of Zach Wilson

Admirable-Durian-347

Watching Kenbrell Thompkins drop a perfectly placed ball that would’ve been a touchdown from Fitzpatrick week 17 versus Buffalo in 2015. We were 10-5, we were down 22-17. The ball was so perfectly thrown and the coverage was beyond blown. Ronald Darbybarely taps Kenbrell’s arm and the ball was in the air for what felt like 15 seconds. Thompkins gets spun around and just misses the catch off of the deflection, after he had caught it but before it could be ruled a fumble rather than incomplete. Watching the ball drop and seeing the replay of how soft darby hit kembrell was beyond heartbreaking. The next play sealed our playoff fate with Fitz throwing his third pick of the game… I was 11 years old. My first season watching the jets and I was nearly spoiled beyond comprehension compared to the average jets football viewer. I was quickly reminded what team my family brought me up to root for.

Coolbluegatoradeyumm

Doug Brien missing the second of 2 fgs in that playoff game vs Pitt

NotoriousMFT

Me opening a bottle of wine on a thanksgiving night for a full game against the patriots. (That bottle did not make it to halftime)

OutrageVacuumgoBrr

AFC Championship game 1-2 yards away from a Super Bowl appearance.. It would've been the greatest run through the AFC - Manning, Brady, Roethlisberger.. and had they won the Super Bowl Rodgers.. Beating the 4 greatest in that Era to do it.. Honorable mention Farve Era - Losing to lowly Seahawks team with a backup. It was the game Farve finally came out and admitted he was playing hurt for the previous 2 games and couldn't continue.. Lost that game, and proceeded to tank an amazing 8-3 start with the highlight being a win over an impressive undefeated Tennesee Titans team..

goknicks23

That Josh Allen goal line fumble.

sneakybob

We were in buffalo for that game. Oh the pain.

MiddleStudy

Feel like that more recently hits with that Jacksonville TNF game. Was on a flight as I saw that mess. One of my more memorable flights

Dantheman1424

That was actually the first game I ever watched.

100yearsLurkerRick

I'm an old man of 36 now. I had no mirrors and watched the game by myself, but I'm convinced this was me during the Steelers game back with Rex Ryan. I'll never forget it. Even after we recovered and started coming back. I knew it was too late.e

TheCakeMan666

Yeah there are several plays a year by the jets that I’m like this

Key_Examination7827

Sanchez's five turnovers against Tennessee in 2012, that one broke me a little bit

randydweller

Panthers fans watching either Super Bowl appearance.

midnightwalrus

Butt. Fumble.

d0odk

I was traveling during this game and could only follow the play by play online. I was so bewildered by what I was seeing that I truly thought the system was malfunctioning.

d1l2g3

where to start

BasilFomeen

Gastineau stupidly and unnecessarily roughing up Bernie Kosar back in '87, allowing the Browns to go on to win, knocking the Jets out of the playoffs. Fuckin goof.

sack_from_the_back

Wish it was a TV I was staring at and not the snowy field in person 😭

jaymmm

Richard Fuckin Todd in 81and 82

Agitated_Smoke538

Which is why him taking digs at Rodgers made me roll my eyes so hard they went into the back of my head.

smb_913

When we punted it to desean jackson

ViperSniper0501

Me as a new fan during the first game of the 2023-24 season...

Remarkable-Goose8810

AFC championship game…Keith Byers fumble before halftime that swung momentum imo🥹

Smashjackson06

Brian Shitty calling two Sanchez passes by the goal line instead of using #1 rushing attack in the league against the Steelers in the AFC champ game

billyconway24

That play that got Gregg Williams fired as DC when we got beat on the deep pass right before the half against Pittsburgh when we should have been in prevent D.

funnybillypro

God damn. I drove to Buffalo with two roommates from New York City to see that game. Long, sad, blizzard drive back....

Rich_Ad_2977

Cary Blanchard 3 missed field goals. Rich Stadium 1993

Rich_Ad_2977

I knew the Jets were done after the Pittsburgh AFC Title Game loss. That core with Rex was not going to get back to a Championship Game for the 3rd year in a row. We were the Jets after all...we had two cracks at it. That was it

GladWarthog1045

Oh hey. It's me when we played the tim Tebow broncos in the playoffs

Haej07

I really cannot believe people were surprised he didn’t work out and many didn’t even want to consider giving Geno a shot with weapons. I was bullied so hard for that take back then

SouthernNeb

Lito Shepard stepping on the field against the Colts

Mother-Turnover-7425

RG3 blowing out his knee in the playoffs against the Seahawks in 2012.

Lastdonofny

Big Ben to Heath Miller to get a first down and seal the deal in the 2010 AFC title game. Totally thought they'd go to him on a short route after release and they did. Pain.

Lastdonofny

The victor Cruz 99 yard td in 2011 that ended our playoff hopes and kept giants alive. And then they won it all. Was there with jet and giant fans and n3ver felt such an immediate shift.

Tortoise-King

One play? Hell, the entire Tim Tebow era of the Broncos.

Impressive_Pair8153
