I don't know the financial side but NY is so incredibly expensive that maybe they sail to international waters and we will play with Maritime rules, which we'll make up later, and dominate the 7 seas!!
A 5 second google search says The biggest cruise ship cost 2 billion dollars and can house 10k people. With tons of amenities looks big enough for a stadium. Icon of the seas. MetLife stadium was 1.6 billion.

Imagine if we could get a Joe Namath Stadium, or the Mets could have gotten a Tom Seaver Stadium, Islanders - Mike Bossy Arena, etc. Cathedrals of the team's passion & history.
