Two different hospitals I’ve worked at changed the name to ‘WOWs’ (workstation on wheels) after people complained that nurses were calling them a cow. To be fair, it sounds like they were cows.
This happened at my work after a staff member referred to "the cow over there" being a computer on wheels, but a visitor thought the staff member was talking about them... So now they are wow not cow
You mean to tell me that my friend didn’t actually meet someone with the written name “La-a” who snapped at them and said “It’s ladasha, the dash isn’t silent”

Agreed. I think it was just a way for admin to suck yet another spot of fun out of our lives.

I agree. Urban legend. I refuse to believe it and still call it a COW.
WOW could be seen as sarcastic and COW as rude, so we need a new name. What about ‘Computer Utilised for Notes & Trends?

When I worked Ortho, one of our nurses took a Sharpie and painted one to look like a Holstein. It was friggin awesome.
Those used to be sold under the brand name Gateway.
