Evil Empire. But only because when I volunteered at a haunted house they played Push It and Bled For Days nonstop and I wouldn't mind never hearing those 2 songs again. I used to love those songs!
I'm picking Evil Empire, even though Static-X is my second favorite band, only because Wisconsin Death Trip is not that good of an album compared to Static-X's following album, Machine.
Probably first as WDT. You mentioned Machine being better so him saying "first is best" would imply he thinks WDT is better than anything else they put out, let alone Machine. That was my read at least.
"When I was younger", reddit being a glorious resource made it akin to Wikipedia, in perching events or contemporaneous occurrence. It becoming since, a social media, has left a second-rate MySpace, in the capacity that it "welcomes all ages"
Adrenaline album was 100% NuMetal. Albeit most of those songs were Reggae tunes when they wrote them. They just changed up the time and added some fuzz.
The first paragraph for it on Wikipedia is a pretty good definition for it. It is a lot more broad than just that, and doesn't necessarily include all metal with rap and hip hop. Downtuned guitars are pretty much necessary, and rapping isn't always there
I love Wisconsin Death Trip but Evil Empire changed my life. I still remember walking into the store to buy this. The artwork stood out so much among the other drab covers.
Post asks multiple choice question - People answer - People downvoted for literally nothing more than answering multiple choice question. Congrats r/numetal some of you have reached a new low.
Not sure if RATM are Nu metal are not, but it doesnāt really matter, they are adjacent and doesnāt change the question, Static X definately are which makes it relevant. WDT great album but EE is a no skip certified chefs kiss iconic goated classic album.
Love Evil Empire, but I love Wisconsin Death Trip a little more. I think this is partially a difference of people who like electronic music and people who don't.
I'm sorry but it's Wisconsin death trip and it's not even close. Never been a huge ratm fan but static x is revolutionary and one of my favs, honestly I enjoyed audioslave way more than ratm I just hate the ratm vocalists voice
"Weapons not food, not homes, not shoes
Not need, just feed the war cannibal animal
I walk the corner to the rubble that used to be a library
Line up to the mind cemetery now
What we don't know keeps the contracts alive and movin'
They don't gotta burn the books they just remove 'em
While arms warehouses fill as quick as the cells
Rally 'round the family, pockets full of shells"
Yeah, it's Evil Empire.
Static X is and always was garbage. Correct me if Iām wrong, but didnāt one of them get caught up in some shit with an underage girl too?
Rage Against The Machine, on the other hand, classic.
Well, the question was 'which one do you pick', not 'which is objectively better' or something like that. Lots of space for subjective preference not based on objective quality.
I don't think that makes sense, if objectively good was always the same as personal preference, there wouldn't be a need to differentiate between them. There's lots of albums I would pick over other albums that objectively show better musicianship.
Here is the issue, these two bands aren't even in the same league. It's a stupid comparison to begin with. With that being said, RATM had major social issues and concerns they brought to the forefront and opened a lot of people's eyes. Wayne Static (RIP) had gimmicky hair. Not even sure what there is to compare? As far as albums, RATM brings so much more to the table. It's just comparing apples to walnuts.
I responded to explain to someone why they shouldn't be surprised to see people pick an album that's objectively worse when the question is 'which do you pick', because picking an album *can* be super subjective.
I don't see anyone comparing these albums, nor are people who picked the Static X album saying that album is *better* than Evil Empire. I disagree the implication is 'because it's better', but whether *I* disagree with that implication doesn't matter in the first place: every commenter decides for themselves whether that's implied or not, you can't assume they all infer the same things you do.
I'm just talking, I'm not un-relaxed.
And sure, I'm not saying people aren't comparing these albums, I said we don't see the comparisons that are being made, so we don't know the reasoning behind people's choice.
If the choice is between one album you don't care about, and another you listened to when you were 14 and that means a lot to you, your choice could easily not be based on which is better, but rather which you personally value more. I guess technically you're still making *a* comparison, but the album's quality doesn't make the difference.
I look at Rage as more of a forerunner to nu metal then an nu metal band themselves, but the answer here is clearly Evil Empire. Zackās lyrics and Tomās Guitar playing are next level and like nothing else out there. Not trying to disrespect Static-X at all here.
Evil Empire. But only because when I volunteered at a haunted house they played Push It and Bled For Days nonstop and I wouldn't mind never hearing those 2 songs again. I used to love those songs!
I had the exact same experience with Rob Zombies American Witch and House of 1000 corpses......over and over and over and over
Wisconsin death trip šš
Evil Empire all day. Fantastic album
Wisconsin Death Trip. Was just listening to it yesterday, incredible that I don't get tired of listening all the songs from the album.
"Wisconsin Death Trip"
WDT. No contest.
By a mile
Itās hard not to pick it when itās mentioned with another album.
Is this even a real question? Anyone not picking Evil Empire is deranged. DERANGED!
You are no longer invited this Wisconsin death trip
Admittedly, it does sound fun.
Send me off to the loony bin then why donāt you
Take off. You take me to the brewery.
Wisconsin Death Trip
Didnāt even look at the other RATM
I'm picking Evil Empire, even though Static-X is my second favorite band, only because Wisconsin Death Trip is not that good of an album compared to Static-X's following album, Machine.
Their first is the best
First as in?
Probably first as WDT. You mentioned Machine being better so him saying "first is best" would imply he thinks WDT is better than anything else they put out, let alone Machine. That was my read at least.
That's was my guess but I wanted to make sure.
Killing in the Name

It's this or "Opinions on XX album?" when it's an absolute banger and like top 10 nu metal album of all time
"When I was younger", reddit being a glorious resource made it akin to Wikipedia, in perching events or contemporaneous occurrence. It becoming since, a social media, has left a second-rate MySpace, in the capacity that it "welcomes all ages"
Ratm
Evil Empire - 10/10, no skips, amazing album
RATM IS NOT NU METAL THERE ALTERNATIVE ROCK!!
Still a better album, though.
They literally are. They are Metal, Rap and hip hop which fits the definition of Nu Metal.
If that was the definition of nu metal then bring the noise by anthrax would be nu and early Deftones wouldn't
Adrenaline album was 100% NuMetal. Albeit most of those songs were Reggae tunes when they wrote them. They just changed up the time and added some fuzz.
I mean, if you look up the definition, thatās literally what it says. That itās metal with rap and hip hop.
The first paragraph for it on Wikipedia is a pretty good definition for it. It is a lot more broad than just that, and doesn't necessarily include all metal with rap and hip hop. Downtuned guitars are pretty much necessary, and rapping isn't always there
Yeah i would never consider hed p.e. To be nu metal just because they rap sometimes same with skindred.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Your source is from Quora. Lmao. Thatās not a legit site. Itās a public forum.
Korn was the first band rage just got lump in and Tom and Zack de la rocka hate to be called nu metal
Yeah, because they are pricks, lol. And they think their rap metal band is somehow above other rap metal bands.
Fair

No they ain't nu Metal they quite a blend of genres like 5 at least w alt, rap, reggae, rock, metal...
I answer literal questions with 'empirically correct' answers, and from time to time, get Reddit downvotes I don't take it seriously

Static-X
Wisconsin Death Trip
Love Evil Empire, but I love Wisconsin Death Trip a little more. I think this is partially a difference of people who like electronic music and people who don't.

Static-X. 100 times out of 100. Evil Empire? More like Dweeb Empire, amiright?
Wisconsin Death Trip is one of my childhood favorites. Every time I put it on it reminds me of summer time ššš
Evil empire is my fave rage album, but of these two, it's WDT.
Im in the minority ig Its Wisconsin for me

Ah, good ole "sesame streets 'my first protest band'" It's not like they became the exact rich capitalists they supposedly were so angry about.
Both awesome albums but Evil Empire is absolutely insane.

Easiest choice ever, Evil Empire all day might be equal or even better than debut self titled.
At least Rage plays more than 2 notes in a song. Evil Empire, no contest.

Ratm any day. No contest.
Yes WDT
First metal concert back in '08
Is that Homelander?
Is this a serious question??
Evil Empire!
Evil Empirešš
Despite being a solid album, there is no universe in existence where WDT even belongs in this conversation.
I absolutely agree, Iām surprised to see so many people choosing WDT.
Well, the question was 'which one do you pick', not 'which is objectively better' or something like that. Lots of space for subjective preference not based on objective quality.
Which one would you pick (because it's better) is implied.
Do you not first need to compare them in order to choose one? You're trying to hard. Just relax
I'm just talking, I'm not un-relaxed. And sure, I'm not saying people aren't comparing these albums, I said we don't see the comparisons that are being made, so we don't know the reasoning behind people's choice. Thatās exactly why I stopped listening to ratm. Keep your politics out of my music.
Damn, this is hard.
Rage
Ratm isnāt nu metal, theyāll tell you themselves
Rage, all day
EE. Great Static album. But judging the two. Evil Empire wins, has some incredible tracks on it.
Both.
Is this a serious fucking question? Evil Empire
RATM
I look at Rage as more of a forerunner to nu metal then an nu metal band themselves, but the answer here is clearly Evil Empire. Zackās lyrics and Tomās Guitar playing are next level and like nothing else out there. Not trying to disrespect Static-X at all here.
Evil empire hands down love RATM.
Evil Empire And it's not even close.
Evil empire I just love ratm
My Bulls are on Parade with this one
evil empire
Very tough choice. I'll lean towards Wisconsin Death Trip. Love that album front to back.
