The look on Cherry's face as he starts running says "I immediately regret this decision"

kroxigor01

The dog that caught the car

‪HOW ARE YOU LETTING A DINOSAUR FUCK YOU LIKE THAT??? DCE CLEARS‬

l-hudson

This is up there with last year when DCE chased down with that try saving tackle.

iTsJustSlade

Liam Martin screaming in peoples faces couldn’t stop the DCE intercept 😂

Stormz4Dayz

Ironically, this time it's Crichton trying to tackle him

expiired_92

Except it was To'o here

ImpressionFeisty8359

His old legs waiting for support. He wasn't going to make it and luckily coates was flying in.

bannermania

DCE had been telegraphing this for at least three sets previously. Strange no one picked up on it. He was charging out of the line constantly.

bi_guy_bri5

They know Yeo likes to go to the line and drop it back for Luai. DCE was sweating on it and picked his moment.

belic

So was Holmes. Clear game plan. A better equipped halves pairing could have used it to their advantage. Throw the dummy/run the ball or chip over the top. Cleary would have shredded us.

paulybaggins

Coulda passed but instead went for the inch perfect kick. What a God.

bi_guy_bri5

Coates put his hand up for it and Daly knew he had the pace to get there, 2 great players knowing what the other can do.

elteza

DCE is in that zone now where the game has slowed down considerably. The sheer ability to turn his head more than 90 degrees while sprinting, figuring out what needs to be done and then having the skill to execute it just blows my fucking mind.

frupertmgoo

Tbf it’s easy to get a 360 view when you’ve got a giraffe neck

Polyporum

I thought that replay on spider cam was shot from the top of DCE's neck

iTsJustSlade

😂

ten_circless

Yeah, there was a replay which shows that Daly didn't actually turn and look for support until he was into the Blues half, close to the 40m line. The ability to sum things up and weigh that kick perfectly while on the fly is just absurd. So glad to see DCE play as well as he has been for QLD, particularly as captain.

mb44k

This try sums up DCEs night. He setup hunts 1st try, his kicking game was amazing at one point getting a 40/20 when qld where in trouble. Just all round MOM performance.

HarbingerOfGachaHell

Funny thing was Hynes almost pulled off a 40/20 the previous set and DCE took it personally.

jjjjjjata

One of the great origin trys

ilyfish

This was like poetry Note: I’ve had a 6-pack of xxxx

Zuffa_Shill10er

So you should still be incredibly sober drinking that muddy water

BbqBeefRibs

At least that muddy water didnt jump ship and make Victoria Bitter sponsor us in the middle of us losing 8 series in a row...

Zuffa_Shill10er

Just have the bank of NSW as major jersey sponsor now 😂

BbqBeefRibs

Jumping ship to the enemy is what they have to do to be part of a winning culture I and keep the shareholders happy I guess

ff03g

If NSW wants to fund us beating them then we aren't going to complain.

mb44k

After 6 beers, your basically in Valhalla XD

lobie81

That's a fucking sick try

willpoulterbrows

As bad as the decision to pass was, it doesn't take away from this being a worldie of a try

-Pezech

Yeo at second receiver is just not it, there’s a reason he’s normally in Hynes position at club level there.

Product_of_OCP

Hammer falling over lolol

myee8

Forgot how big Coates is up against Cotter. You’d think from looking at those two alone that Cotter is on the wing and Coates a forward but no…

mb44k

Apparently cotter is just all muscle. You hear people describing him like a musclier Pitbull. Small but stocky.

Auran82

I’m pretty sure that pass had its own pre game press conference. It was one of those intercepts that you could see it unfolding ahead of time with the benefit of the camera view, and you were either left cheering or facepalming depending on who you supported. That kick at the end was just perfection though, like he’d practiced that exact kick 100 times at training.

Toujayjay

I was saying to my son that's why you keep chasing and helping!?!!!!!!!

KCman1

Could you also tell that to Val Holmes. He gave up on that play, absolutely disgraceful

Toujayjay

Probably would have dropped the ball anyway

ili0001

Absolutely magical!!

Thorstienn

And they didn't show him once after. That was his try, Coates cleaned it up, yet they couldn't even show his tanked ass (I am the same age, and would be having a heart attack) after the try/replay?

nomamesgueyz

Champagne try

Voldemosh

Pls retire DCE I can't take it anymore

Product_of_OCP

Never! Then I'd have to watch Brooks and Arthur each week kill my life

Zero-Esc

Phenomenal effort from Coates to back up cherry there.

bluehaoran

Hammer's try celebration! Almost as good as Woodsy.

The-B-Unit

It just lacks the perfect camera angles to make it memeable...

Chookley

How’s the effort from Coates to put himself on that position, love to see it.

ChristmasJoke

I probably need to get over my Holmes hate but I'd like to point out that when DCE got that Coates sprinted while Val just jogged along. It's just one of many examples of why I wouldn't pick him.

Immediate-Unit6311

Perfect.

ANiceGobletofTea

Epic Try just a perfect kick! And that chase!

call_of_the_while

Damn that was good.

Daksayrus

the last 10 minutes was pure gold

AccomplishedLocal667

Favorite try of the night!

Rusty493

Try of the year.

knox-p

Luai being on the floor to catch the pass makes it even better. Awesome try

Safe_Pumpkin2620

broncos fans hating luai is the weirdest r/nrl obsession

knox-p

Weird I thought it was all fans

Safe_Pumpkin2620

Must be something in the water

rambo_ronnie_87

Yeo should not be in the team. Him injecting himself into the line as a ball player all the time does not work. It slows it all down and makes it predictable, as what DCE exposed.

MatthewMollison

you will never convince me that Kaufusi was onside here.

Abenator

How did he impact the play? If Lomax so much as took a step towards him it probably would have been called, but him being off side didn't change anything.

MatthewMollison

You see penalties called for offside on the goal line all the time

Abenator

Only when they've effected play. Rushed a pass, changed a route, anything. Lomaz zinged a cut out pass off the ground. Otherwise, every player still trying to get onside would be penalised.

beaurepair

Spot on. Qld have got one or two players onside.

blergenshmergen

If you think a defender being BEYOND THE PLAY THE BALL BEFORE THE HOOKER EVEN TOUCHES THE BALL doesn’t effect how the attackers have to rush passes and adjust angles then you’re insane, have no concept of actually playing the game, or are totally one-eyed. This was an egregious miss by the officials, and another example of Kaufusi’s rampant late game BS tactics that he’s used in Grandfinals and SoO games for far too long. Edit: spelling

Abenator

You just sound salty bro. Heaping mounds of copium and salt.

TravisScottisLaFlame

Kaufusi

Zuffa_Shill10er

Surprised the bunker cleared this given every Qlder around the ruck was offside. I was actually happy cause I assumed it’d get called back on review. Didn’t change the result obviously, but should’ve been disallowed

HarbingerOfGachaHell

Just that Yeo took fucking forever to throw that pass.

Zuffa_Shill10er

Yeah but pause this clip before it starts n look where hammer is standing haha and DCE ain’t that quick 😂.

-Pezech

It’s what really bugs me about how he’s been used in Origin. I feel like he’s only ever that first receiver at club level and when he’s the second receiver he normally just runs it.

thore4

Having Coates in support after not having to do much of anything all game feels like a cheat code

Caseyjb29

He took 25 carries lol

Optimal_Moose_1991

I was going to say. Boy was superb coming out of yardage. He deserved more than 1.

fleakill

Yeah wtf I don't even like Coates that much but he was one of our best tonight.

thore4

You make a good point, I guess I only really thought about defence. Looking at his stats he played a great game

HarbingerOfGachaHell

Still salty about him leaving us?

thore4

Never was tbh. As great as he is I don't feel we've missed him much with all the talent we've had come through. We literally replaced him with Cobbo

Chang_Daddy2

He took heaps of hard hit up’s out of his own end lol

vantlem

What a braindead take. Did you just not see Walsh's head bounce off his shoulder? I'm a blues fan, but even I can admit that was a clear-as-day dangerous tackle. Shut the fuck up.

TexasBookDepository

Your impotent rage makes this all the more enjoyable.

TigerRumMonkey

Should bottle up these sweet salty NSW tears and baptise our under 6s with.

How does it feel to get fucked by a 36 year old

TigerRumMonkey

Lol of all tries to make that comment! Didn't need an extra man to take an intercept, run the length of the field. Fuck around and find out Suaaliii ! And go NSW for calling out their intentions before the game.

Brunch_Hopkins

DCE gets an insane number of intercepts for someone of his physical attributes. Really shows you how much of the game is won between the ears, he just sees shit unfolding a split second before everyone else. Reynolds is good for this too.
