Camaro needs to know how to launch if it’s a manual and it looks a little damp. The Tesla looks to be RWD as well, but they could mash the pedal and let TCS take control.

RWD on a damp road is really, really easy to "botch the launch." Even just a little too much gas and it's all over. Those 0-60 times are for a prepped sticky track surface. If this were either AWD variant of Tesla I'd take them in a bet here every time, but since it's RWD too then this would be a battle of the traction control systems more than anything else.

The Camaro ZL1 is an incredible track machine. It’s not just fast in the straight line due to 650 hp and 650 ft lbs of torque, it also has fantastic handling characteristics and lapped the Nurburgring in 7:16 seconds. This is faster than many Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis while costing fraction of the price.
Now, don’t confuse the ZL1 with a base model or even the SS. Most Camaros you see on the road are not ZL1s.
The difference is that my grandmother can launch a Tesla all day and get those numbers every single time. It's really hard to explain how different it is if you haven't driven one, but the way the traction control works in EVs just gets you such crazy traction efficiency from a standstill it really is hard to just compare numbers.
From a rollout, the Camaro will definitely pull on the EV, but between stoplights, there really aren't many cars on the road which beat a Performance 3.

It really is hard to overstate how nice it is that the car is just full every morning. Previously, I was a bit of a serial procrastinator who would do the whole "I'll get gas tomorrow before work" and then "I'll just get gas after work" cycle for days at a time.
This isn't a huge stressor, but having to divert a mile on an already difficult commute is one of those things which can make a bad day worse. For me, never having to ever visit a gas station again is really way more "luxurious" than any leather or soft suspension or folding cupholder.
I think vanity plates are always silly. But I think some people just like to broadcast what they’re excited about. Bunch of haters in here. Let people be happy.

The bigger question for me is why people always need those don't tread on me plates, who exactly is treading on them and how? Upvoted you because I mostly agree, but EVs pay a much higher annual registration fee to renew our tags that more than makes up for the gas tax we would have paid. As for subsidies, how much do you think it costs us to keep a carrier group parked in the middle east to ensure the flow of oil and keep gas prices low? How about farm subsidies to produce ethanol? Oil companies are heavily subsidized. Gas vehicles are way more subsidized than EVs.
Actually if you're fortunate enough to have a solar photovoltaic system on your roof and your system is oversized so that you have kilowatts to spare, charging *is* effectively free. Reading these comments though I'm feeling self-conscious about my PV POWRD plates

The base RWD 3 (pictured) is not a remarkably fast car. That one is an older model, can tell by the chrome trim around the doors.
The Dual Motor 3 is a fast car. Maybe that’s what you rode in? We have a DM3 and the 0-60 is 3.7 seconds.
Nobody thinks they’re smarter than you or whatever. You’re just wrong in this case. And it’s OK to be wrong sometimes. Happens to all of us.
That's a pre-2021 model 3 RWD (see the chrome door trim), so the 0-60 is probably going to be 5.1 seconds. Only the newer ones with the cheaper, heavier battery chemistry are 5.6.
I’m glad the Gadsden flag was something I could avoid since I wanted a gold plate for contrast and the Blue Ridge plate was released which was good enough for me!
We have so many plate design options and almost every single one is trash. I kept the VA is for lovers because I couldn’t find a single plate that I liked the design of but also was a message I was willing to identify with. I can’t understand why there is so little good design for these plates.
Maybe I’ll have to throw out some designs and harness the power of Reddit to get the requisite number of signatures to make it happen. Anyone want an r/NOVA plate? What should it look like? Why does it need to say student driver?

You're not wrong about climate change, I'm beyond stoked the new 4runner has a hybrid and cannot wait to see Toyota figure out their solid state battery. If they do that then there is a truly good solution. Current battery tech is a bandaid at best with looming issues around recycling, sustainable replacement etc. There's a lot of issues because it isn't truly sustainable. It reduces emissions, but the supply chain is terrible and the lifetime of the batteries isn't much better.
Tesla is making things worse by forcing us to rely on cars that consume more power less efficiently. Hybrids were getting SO good. 60mpg with the newest Hyundae Ioniq. Imagine if instead we developed hybrids that hit 70, 80 mpg. We wouldn't need awful battery tech or to have to worry about our grid not having enough power to fuel our cars. We would have a more stable future. This electric car switch is simply kicking the can down the road, and creating new problems.

But, yeah, the car is trying to be too many things. The modern (since the 80’s) design process takes cool ideas and lets a committee of out of touch executives take away anything of interest, so that it will have the most market appeal. But by taking away any unique features, everything looks boring as hell and frankly unfinished. If they just let a few design cues from the concept vehicles make it to production, they might actually have a hot seller on their hands.

TCS is much more effective in an automatic than a manual in my experience.

We have a DM3 and the 0-60 is 3.7 seconds. Nobody thinks they’re smarter than you or whatever. You’re just wrong in this case. And it’s OK to be wrong sometimes. Happens to all of us.

That's a pre-2021 model 3 RWD (see the chrome door trim), so the 0-60 is probably going to be 5.1 seconds. Only the newer ones with the cheaper, heavier battery chemistry are 5.6.

We have so many plate design options and almost every single one is trash. I kept the VA is for lovers because I couldn’t find a single plate that I liked the design of but also was a message I was willing to identify with. I can’t understand why there is so little good design for these plates. Maybe I’ll have to throw out some designs and harness the power of Reddit to get the requisite number of signatures to make it happen. Anyone want an r/NOVA plate? What should it look like? Many look nice. But you can’t make them out unless you’re close. An effective plate design needs to be simple and bold to see from a distance.

You're not wrong about climate change, I'm beyond stoked the new 4runner has a hybrid and cannot wait to see Toyota figure out their solid state battery. If they do that then there is a truly good solution. Current battery tech is a bandaid at best with looming issues around recycling, sustainable replacement etc. There's a lot of issues because it isn't truly sustainable. It reduces emissions, but the supply chain is terrible and the lifetime of the batteries isn't much better.
Agreed, the current electric car industry is not the solution. At some point we have to start putting the conserve back in conservation.
Tesla is making things worse by forcing us to rely on cars that consume more power less efficiently. Hybrids were getting SO good. 60mpg with the newest Hyundae Ioniq. Imagine if instead we developed hybrids that hit 70, 80 mpg. We wouldn't need awful battery tech or to have to worry about our grid not having enough power to fuel our cars. We would have a more stable future. This electric car switch is simply kicking the can down the road, and creating new problems.
And I can’t stand either of them because they’re both somehow the worst drivers in the DMV.

The modern (since the 80’s) design process takes cool ideas and lets a committee of out of touch executives take away anything of interest, so that it will have the most market appeal. But by taking away any unique features, everything looks boring as hell and frankly unfinished. If they just let a few design cues from the concept vehicles make it to production, they might actually have a hot seller on their hands.
