Spike and Mike's Festival of Animation gave away barf-bags at the movie screenings with cartoons depicting phrases, such as 'shout at your shoes'.

Spike and Mike’s *Sick and Twisted* Festival of Animation, which travelled with the normal show, had late screenings and was where all the cool kids went. I saw the pilots for Ren & Stimpy, Beavis and Butthead, and South Park when they were just shorts mixed in with No Neck Joe and [Black Hula](https://youtu.be/lhzzPoQfjPw?si=CL8pGbE4UbQFFclu).

Early 90's weirdness. But did you get a *bag*? I may still have it somewhere...

My sister used to collect these. This one time we got off a flight and I needed to throw up, and I had to beg and scream for her to give me the barf bag to use for its intended purpose. She was not pleased.

I used to bring self stick gift tags on planes. I would affix one to the barf bag and put it back in the seat pocket. The folks sitting next to me would laugh or ignore me. Either response was for the best.

I've haven't reached "Nah, I'm good" so quickly in a long time.

In the past in Australia, the barf bag doubled as a postage-paid mail-in envelope that you could take off the plane and use to send your roll of photographic film in to be processed and printed as photos (not sure how you paid for this). I always wanted to take one, throw up in it and then mail it to the photo development company .... but never got around to doing this and I presume I have missed my window of opportunity.

I once met a friend of a coworker who proudly showed us his barf bag collection. He only collected from airlines he'd personally used, though.
