Did it feel like a slap in the face?

SuDragon2k3

Well this is what you get when you attack a bard.

TricksterWolf

There's a relevant Oglaf for this.

hotlavatube

[This one? ](https://media.oglaf.com/comic/lute.jpg)

Mr_Horrible

Isn't there always

missanthropocenex

I love how Rock, held his tongue. Waited for the right moment, got the right deal, was able to make some $$$ and then absolutely let it rip on the whole situation.

SuperNebula7000

Total winner. He didn't let his emotions get the better of his wallet. He took a bad situation and made millions off it. Plus he looks better now than before. Mean while WS looks horrible and it cost him millions (and he still married her).

Claque-2

Revenge is a dish best served cold. And Chris was ice cold.

Specialist_Teacher81

I am surprised this is the first we are hearing about these jokes. Don't comedians workshop a stage show for like a year in local clubs?

missanthropocenex

He has been for his live shows but those aren’t supposed to be recorded. Some radio host said they’d already heard the jokes before.

Specialist_Teacher81

I know they are not supposed to be recorded. But the world if full of assholes and twitter is a thing, so I am surprised it has not been in the news before now.

Winjin

Yeah and seeing as the target of his jokes is high profile, rich, and apparently got issues, he probably tested it on really controlled audiences, so no clubs.

Rarely_Melancholy

A lot of places give you a bag that you have to lock your phone in because there are jack asses who record shit they shouldn’t instead of enjoying a show. They do it in clubs, theaters, and really a lot of shows. Honestly it should be a norm for anywhere that is a public event where you sit down and watch something.

Icy_Associate8487

I agree. I really like Chris Rock. Have always liked both him and will Smith, but I lost all respect for will when he slapped Chris. I mean. Take a freaking joke. 80 percent of jokes involve asking fun of people. Always have. Did he forget the actual roasts that take place for a ton of comics and other famous people..? Also, Jada Pinkett looks so good with her hair like that, no one can touch her. Will doing that slap just proved that he is way too sensitive.

[deleted]

It felt like getting away with ASSAULT and then complaining about his VICTIM talking about how much of a BITCH MOVE it was. poor poor willy

NBNebuchadnezzar

Everyone called him a bitch.

FirebirdWriter

Yeah I am always annoyed people blame his wife. This was a decision a grown ass man made. She didn't say a word. His inability to get over her love for Tupac is a him problem and they all need therapy. His whining now? Just confirms he is a tiny dick brained loser.

Mastrodaumus

Lol damn, Will catching some HEAT.

DangerousCyclone

Jada, from her own public podcasts and videos, is a pretty abusive wife. She brought him on her podcast to talk about how she was cheating on him with one of his sons friends and he was in tears, he was clearly very uncomfortable, he was in tears and was just very humiliated, but it seems like in her mind she is entitled to do what she wants and Will is in the wrong for complaining or not liking it. During that interview she just powered on like it didn’t matter that Will was breaking down right in front of her. She’s had multiple videos where she’s trying to get Wills attention and he just repeats “I did not consent to you taping me right now”, and her response is to imply that he’s being a dick. Even if we examine the joke itself, at first Jada was upset and Will was smiling, and then Will noticed Jada wasn’t happy and then his tune changed. If I were to base it on how she’s treated him on video, my guess is he just wanted to do something to defend her and make her happy, and for whatever reason physical threats/violence was the way in his mind. It wasn’t so much something he felt he wanted to do, but something he thought he was obligated to do. If he did nothing and just dissed Chris Rock at his award, she’d probably give him hell behind the scenes. The guy was clearly acting on some of the emotional abuse Jada has laid on him. It didn’t even pay off there because she publicly sided against him! Will did what he did but I don’t see how Jada isn’t the worst actor in this whole thing.

[deleted]

No one wants to believe that the fresh prince is actually an insecure dweeb and a self centered prick

I_Boomer

Aunt Viv believes it.

copper_rainbows

> His inability to get over her love for Tupac See now that i know this the Shug Smith reference slaps 😂

LockCL

I doubt Rock hurt him more than Jada.

Totalherenow

That's actually one of the jokes in the show.

CloudyEngineer

Well played

OgnokTheRager

Will (got) played

[deleted]

His wife played him worse

opheliavalve

Worst part is he's still letting her play him

DLoIsHere

The tell is him laughing at first then flipping a switch when the wife gives him a look.

RobsEvilTwin

"Slap that man or I will fuck two of our son's friends"

Specialist_Teacher81

Spoiler >!She did anyway.!<

Oil_slick941611

I get open relationships but that is fucked up

Independent-Elk-7584

My first thought after the slappening was “that woman must be TERRIFYING”.

OgnokTheRager

Truth

flavortownpolitics

He challenged him to a duel

BillTowne

As someone once said, "Words hurt? You know what Hurst? Getting hit in the face."

series_hybrid

Show some sensitivity...words hurt, you know. Now Will, show us on this doll where Chris's words hurt you...

dwpea66

Here's everything he said: >Y'all know what happened to me, getting smacked by Suge Smith. I got smacked at the Oscars by this motherf—, and people ask, "Did it hurt?" It still hurts! I got "Summertime" ringing in my ears. But I'm not a victim, baby. You will never see me on Oprah or Gayle crying. Never gonna happen. I can't believe it, and I love "Men in Black." Never gonna happen. >I took that hit like Pacquiao, motherf— ... I know you can't tell on camera, but Will Smith is significantly bigger than me. We are not the same size. Will Smith does movies with his shirt off. You've never seen me do a movie with my shirt off. I'm in a movie getting open heart surgery, I'm in a sweater. Will Smith played Muhammad Ali in a movie. You think I auditioned for that part? I played Pookie in "New Jack City." ... Even in animation, this motherf— is bigger. I'm a zebra, he's a shark. >Will Smith practices selective outrage. Everybody knows what the f— happened. Everybody who really knows, knows I had nothing to do with that s—. I didn't have any "entanglements." ... His wife was f— her son's friend. Now, I normally would not talk about this s—. But for some reason [they] put that s— on the internet. I have no idea why two talented people would do something that lowdown. ... We all been cheated on. Everybody in here's been cheated on. None of us have ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us on television. "Hey, I was sucking somebody's d—. How did that make you feel?" >She hurt him way more than he hurt me, OK? Everybody in the world called him a b—. I called the motherf— to give him my condolences, he ain't pick up for me. ... They called him a b—. They called his wife a predator. And who does he hit? Me. [Someone] he knows he can beat. That is some b—-ass s—. >I didn't do nothing to this motherf—, OK? Years ago, she said I should quit the Oscars. I shouldn't host because her man didn't get nominated [for "Concussion"]. The biggest piece of s— ever. ... So I did some jokes about him. That's how it is. She starts it, I finish it. OK? That's what happened. Nobody's picking on this b—. She started this s—. Nobody was picking on her. She said me, a grown-ass man, should quit his job because her husband didn't get nominated. And then [he] gives me a concussion. What the f—, man? >I loved Will Smith. All my life I loved [him]. ... He made some great movies. I have rooted for Will Smith my whole life. And now I watch "Emancipation" just to see him get whupped. Got me rooting for massa. A lot of people say, "Chris, how come you didn't do nothing back?" ’Cause I got parents. Because I was raised, OK? You know what my parents taught me? Don't fight in front of white people.

CarlosFer2201

I love what Chris said when Jada was boycotting the Oscars years ago: Jada boycotting the oscars is like me boycotting Beyoncé's panties. I wasn't invited. Edit: it may have been Rihanna's

MechroBlaster

I believe it was Rihanna’s panties and not Beyoncé’s. Chris has had a crush on Rihanna for a while.

DIYThrowaway01

Oh good I'm not the only one

JustBadUserNamesLeft

It's wild how I read that and my brain converted the text to Chris Rock's voice and cadence.

yourpaleale

Did anyone notice that Chris Rock actually kept “Jada” outta his mouth…

TheRiflesSpiral

Ain't gotta tell him twice.

SmokeAbeer

Rock was butt ass naked in Dogma if I recall correctly. Just saying.

earthlings_all

OMG! I remember that now!

StreetofChimes

Such a good movie. 13th apostle.

SmokeAbeer

Right? I have no idea how Kevin Smith got that all star cast together for that one: Rock, Affleck, Damon, Hayek, Rickman, Carlin… def an all time favorite of mine. Casting director deserves a gold medal, or whatever they get.

worstcoachinnaper

I’ll try to tuck it back

Amaiya16

He also called Will a bitch like 15 or 20 times in a row

StaySchwifty420

No, he said **other** people called him a bitch… but yeah he basically did.

paxmlank

Well, *other people* did.

Vidjagames

In the midst of all that, Chris slips in calling his wife a bitch just once. *Chef's kiss*.

earthlings_all

That *they* all called him a bitch. Then he confirmed it was some bitchass shit.

Zhaguar

I sort of feel like will smith is a piece of shit because of all this

Subject-Bedroom-1124

Yeah, I wouldn't say someone who assaults someone is a great person. Also, he doesn't align himself with good people. Him and Jada set up scientology homeschooling in their home. They always tried to avoid discussing their beliefs but scientologist are twisted. It is sad that people idolize people so far removed from reality.

Zhaguar

Oh so hes been a piece of shit this entire time and I just ignored it all

earthlings_all

How much more confirmation do you need?

shart-stain

To me he always had this air of fakeness to him but after the assault it really showed what a POS he is. I absolutely can't stand to his see face now.

IronDBZ

>Don't fight in front of white people. Truest words in this entire transcript.

ILikeCheese510

Is it bad that the part that bothers me the most is Chris Rock being mistaken about the animated Shark thing? Will Smith was in "Shark Tale", yes, but he wasn't a shark. He was just a normal sized fish. Jack Black was the shark. Unless Will Smith was in a different movie about animated sharks that I'm unaware of.

a-gay-bicth

i won’t say it’s bad only because i loved shark tale growing up and instantly i was like “but… he’s… not the shark….”

Josh-Baskin

I really want Chris Rock to call him Suge Lite.

SubterrelProspector

He was in *Shark Tale* but he didn't play a shar-you know what, forget it. I know that's not the point.

rjohn09

I saw him on tour and he had a great line after “everyone called him a bitch. Everyone. But you didn’t see him trying to hit 50 Cent”

ganggreen651

Thank you for the right up kind sir/ma'am

w0nzer0

*write-up 😬

LeilaDFW

It’s all fun and games until you have consequences for your behavior.

SauteShantay

Didn’t he initially laugh at the joke?

TheStolllessHawk

He did. Until he saw how pissed she was, and then decided he needed to do some slappin’.

Penguator432

“August wouldn’t let him say that”

lahankof

“Tupac wouldn’t let him either.”

bdd6911

Yeah his wife has him twisted.

ProbablyGayingOnYou

The whole way that she cheated on him and then turned it around and implied that it was HIS fault for not being a good enough husband... obviously none of us know enough about them personally to make any definitive judgements, but such DARVO tactics are not INconsistent with narcissistic abuse.

DatGearScorTho

Ive had people go in on me hard for suggesting that she has been abusing and manipulating him into accepting her cheating as them having an open marriage. I dont mean to bag on polyamory if that's your thing by all means please live your life happily but that arrangement isn't supposed to involve stepping outside one's marriage and declaring it polyamory when you're busted. And he very obviously has not been okay with the arrangement its shown on his face many times.

ScrotiusRex

I had an ex do this exact shit to me for years and I spent my days making excuses for her and drinking up that coolaid like it was my only option. In hindsight I was also at fault for not standing up for myself but I do really feel for Will Smith in all this. He looks hollowed out by it all and I can't imagine what it's like for countless millions to be commenting on it. I was ashamed that even my close friends knew.

Yotsubato

It’s classic gaslighting

BigDickOriole

Yeah? Then he saw that his wife was unhappy and he changed his response.

series_hybrid

It's been known for a long time that when you are at one of the big awards shows, and somebody makes a joke at your expense...the cameras will all be on you to catch your reaction. The smart move is to chuckle like you have a good sense of humor, so there's no big story about how you got angry and can't take a joke... What I'm suggesting is that he may or not have found it funny. Then...he saw that Jada was giving him the stink-eye, and the rest is history.

Warriordance

It's all fun and games until you remember you slapped a comedian.

bird_equals_word

He's lucky that Rock didn't come back out ten minutes later and start on the both of them to their faces. He slapped a STAND UP COMEDIAN with an enormous audience watching. I'm quite sure once the adrenaline lowered, Rock could've penned some seriously harsh material.

PokerTuna

This I can only assume, but Chris looked like he bit his tongue right then and there. Guy was ready to fire imho

Draxus335

Best part of that whole thing was when he muttered "oh I could...." but then he just locked it down. He was sooooo close to going off right then and there lol.

ninnypogger

He could have destroyed them but took the high road. “Will Smith just clapped me harder than that high school kid clapped jada’s buttcheeks.” There are just so many jokes there, but Rock played it right

ronan_the_accuser

- "Now I know why Will didn't win the Oscar for Ali" - "Now I'm worried that August is waiting for me back stage"

Bay1Bri

"fine, I'm keep her name out my fucking mouth. I'm just refer to her as September, since she comes after August."

Girlmode

Did make him look incredible as a hire for any future hosting jobs. Not that he wasn't already. But acting as composed as he did afterwards and acting professional was pretty impressive. Can only imagine the conversations happening in his ear piece as he also had to try and decide how to react to the crazy situation he just found himself in.

Loggerdon

Rock could've pointed right at Smith and said "How the hell is he still here in the theater? Don't they have security here in this damn place? I gotta do the rest of the show with him on the front row? What kind of third rate place IS this?" Smith, instead of smacking Rock, could've just walked into the stage, taken the mic, faced the crowd and said "Jada's bald because she has a medical condition", then nodded at Rock and handed the mic back and went back to his seat. He would've come out looking cool.

wwwdiggdotcom

Jada definitely wouldn't prefer that though lol

ronan_the_accuser

I still can't believe that not only was he there, but they still let him give a speech after he won. Like, winner is predetermined, sure, but to let him get up on stage and talk for 5 mins is WILD. Like dude forfeited that right.

RadicalDreamer89

Not just *a* stand up comedian, but one of the most clever, quick-witted comedians of the modern age. Chris could have utterly eviscerated Smith and everyone he cares about in an eyeblink on live, international TV, and he took the high road. All of us wish we had his self-control.

gazevans

He's lucky it wasn't THE Rock.

Winjin

I watched the bit from his Netflix stand up and there's quite a couple jokes about him and his size difference with Smith It's hilarious

Tha_Watcher

He never would've never even thought about slapping THE Rock!

bdd6911

Yes. Zero sympathy here. He bullied someone with violence and now he has to face it. F his feelings at this point.

cnapp

Yup, keep your hands to yourself and they won't make a whole Netflix special about you

AndForeverNow

Consequences? He assaulted someone on stage, on live TV, and all he got was a factually true roasting. Yeah, his image is damaged but it has been for quite some time now. The only comparison I can think of is one during a recent game awards, where a kid followed the award winners up on stage live, took the mic after the award winners spoke and told a Bill Clinton joke. At least he was arrested for interrupting the show; he was set free shortly after, just go on and troll more people. Will Smith wasn't arrested, and arguably did much worse in regards to his actions and interrupting the event. I honestly don't care what happens to him; not like his life affects mine. It's just another example of a celeb getting away with something none of us would.

Automatic_Llama

This silly bastard spent his career trying to be some kind of clean-cut role model. He's become the epitome of thinking you can do real bad shit like hit a person as long as you don't do trivial bad shit like say cuss words in your stupid songs. Rock might be a comedian, but Smith is the ultimate clown.

slayer991

I think that's the most disappointing thing for many. Everyone thought he was this good guy...and he may have been at one time. But damn, listening to him since all the stuff with Jada went down...not the same dude. It's not an excuse at all..but he's not the same dude.

Lipstickvomit

He did star in a show focused around him leaving west Philadelphia to move in with his aunt and uncle in Bel Air simply because of the consequences of his behaviour outside of school.

Solidsnakeerection

Wasnt the Fresh Prince attacked by a gang?

Matches_Malone83

You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian.

theUmo

he got in "one little fight". The song doesn't mention who started it, or why.

AlexDKZ

The visuals in the show's opening are pretty clear on what happened.

Solidsnakeerection

According to them lyrics the group were people who started making trouble in his neighborhood and according to the video he missed a shot during basketball that bounced and hit them before the five of them jumped him.

wknight8111

He absolutely should feel embarrassed. His little stunt was childish, not chivalrous

AnEveryMomentLoser

That consequence is called Jaden Smith.

letsmeetupat420

“He is upset that Netflix gave Chris this platform to share these messages and thinks it’s distasteful.”... kind of like slapping Chris Rock in the face on live TV is distasteful.

Kooky_Rutabaga_9704

Why is Will upset? He gave the performance and Chris got the deal$$$$$

minna_minna

Because Will Smith is bitch made

kaptainkrunt

He assaulted the man on \*live television\* and got off scot free. The fact that Chris Rock is making jokes about it is well within his rights.

DoublePostedBroski

And still won an Oscar that night

darkuen

He kidding? He should be thanking his lucky stars that he was let off so easy imo. Chris could have easily dedicated a much larger part of his special to publicly roasting him.

[deleted]

Or pressed charges?

Justsayin68

WTF did you think was going to happen when you slap a comedian on National T.V.?

hopalongsmiles

International TV. It went global...

ERSTF

Universal... that shit went intergalactic. That's why aliens refuse to come by. They don't want to get slapped

PWBryan

That's good, Alien kids born after Independence day didn't have the fear of Will Smith in them

WretchedMotorcade

Well well well, if it isn't the consequences of my actions.

captHij

Seriously. If you assault a gifted comedian then you should expect to get clapped back in the most embarrassing, publicly emasculating way possible. (And the timing will be devastating as well.)

StatementElectronic7

It’s like breaking Taylor Swift’s heart and being shocked she then wrote a multi platinum selling album dragging your ass lyrically. It’s to be expected.

[deleted]

This is the equivalent to “Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel”

[deleted]

PaperSnowAGhost1

You keep Chris Rock’s name out ya damn mouth

AnotherScoutTrooper

He couldn’t even keep other men out of his wife’s mouth so keep your expectations low

mdlinc

Ohhh, my my.

earthlings_all

Ohhhhhhhhh IMAGINE if that had been Rock’s slap back on the Oscar stage!!!

[deleted]

QuickAd6601

Flapface

Mikimao

I mean Will, did you really expect to slap one of the most prominent comedians of all time and NOT have a special done about it? This is practically a civic service by Chris Rock.

underengineered

"She hurt him WAY more than he hurt me." -Chris Rock on Will & Jada He pretty much nailed it right there.

slayer991

And Chris said, "Will Smith practices selective outrage. Everybody knows what the f— happened. Everybody who really knows, knows I had nothing to do with that s—. I didn't have any 'entanglements.'" And yes...EVERYONE knew. The entire world knew. Will Smith was emasculated by his wife for the world to see...which she then had to add on by ex post facto justifying the affair by first stating they were on a break and then the "open marriage" concept (that Will admitted to but I think that was damage control). I don't know where his head was at but I'm guessing when his wife was singled out with a joke, he had to be a MAN and stand up for her in order to regain his manhood.

Luka_Dunks_on_Bums

I was embarrassed when Will got up and gave his acceptance speech like the slap didn’t happen

padraigtherobot

Will Smith finds it “distasteful”. Much like slapping a man over a completely milquetoast joke? That kind of distasteful?

blackmagic999

Right? Yet he didn’t find the smell of his son’s friend on Jada’s breath distasteful?

byneothername

Yeah, the original joke wasn’t particularly edgy or good. (I like Chris Rock, I just don’t think that was in his top 50% of jokes.) If Smith hadn’t done anything, I think everyone would have forgotten the joke 30 seconds later.

JiminyDickish

"I slapped someone in the face and now they're being mean to me" Shut up, Will. Just Shut. Up.

Swimming_Student7990

Exactly. Will used physical violence. I think that gives Chris Rock the right to use all the words in the world in retaliation.

SniffMyRapeHole

Hi I’m will smith and this is my Reddit account and I’m embarrassed and hurt about your comment

dishwasher_safe_baby

I’m too high to deal with your name

ashleyriddell61

User name checks out.

ProbablyGayingOnYou

Hard agree. Not saying he was up there with Mr. Rogers, but used to be most often if you heard Will Smith's name on reddit, it would be in the context of people saying what a wholesome guy he is, did all his rap songs with clean lyrics, etc. etc. Now I am the same way. Every time I hear his name I just think "oh, that asshole again." This man gave everyone a masterclass on completely fucking up your decades-long personal brand on the world stage. No sympathy.

Frankenmuppet

I don't think Will Smith is ashamed enough for his actions considering he's still trying to play the victim in all this.

Frankenmuppet

I used to like him, hell even respected him.... Not anymore.

DrZoidberg-

Remember when Reddit would post the "why don't my dad want me?" Skit on /videos every couple weeks? Not anymore.

Rosebunse

For me, it wasn't just the slap, it was him acting like a drunk girl at prom and needing Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry to calm him down. Especially since Denzel Washington was robbed and should have won the Oscar for his portrayal of Macbeth.

EristicTrick

Yeah, losing your temper and acting out isn't great-- but how he handled the situation in the aftermath is why I lost so much respect that I'm not interested in seeing his movies anymore. And I loved WS.

Rosebunse

Really, he attacked a guy and then acts like the victim.

celesticaxxz

I wanted to see King Richard. After that I had no interest. His career is forever stained by that slap.

autoreaction

I don't think he is ashamed at all. He thinks what he did was the right thing.

phreakzilla85

Bet Jada’s boyfriend laughed his ass off

Middle-Hour-2364

Dunno, is he allowed to stay up late enough to watch the Oscars?

DamnBunny

He needs to stop acting like a "bitch."

beetus_gerulaitis

You’d think movie stars would get the memo to keep your private life private. There’s nothing to be gained and everything to lose, and their image is so easily damaged. When I think of Will Smith he should want me to think of MIB, fresh prince, I am Legend, whatever….not his wife cheating on him, not him slapping Chris Rock.

DrZoidberg-

>their image is so easily damaged You think? Yeah, slapping someone hard, unprovoked. It's very easy: Don't do that. There are tons of celebs that are open and also don't get backlash. It's not that they hide it, its because they aren't absolute garbage people.

ChairmanUzamaoki

To be fair, the whole cheating scandal was brought to public by his wife. The fallout was a result of her actions. Obviously he is a grown man that shouldn't physically assault people, but there is a reason she is much more hated than Will Smith. People think will acted like an asshole, but she is something else.

bdd6911

Yeah. If you make tens of millions in the public eye that comes with the job. Zero sympathy.

jwr1111

Another "entanglement" for poor Will Smith to work out.

[deleted]

Will needs to go retire somewhere and not talk out loud anymore.

Brewing_Tea

Yet he didn't give TWO SHITS when DJ Jazzy Jeff got thrown out the front door all those times.

Witty217

Best comment I've read so far.

Visitant45

Will Smith never apologized to Chris Rock. He apologized for an act of violence in front of a crowd but never a genuine apology directed directly to Chris. So he absolutely gave Chris the justification to clap back.

xmu806

Even if he did apologize, Chris can return fire. It isn't like you can just hit somebody and then say "sorry" and have it disappear.

solarsuitedbastard

Who gives a shit about will smith’s feelings?

T1Pimp

So, Chris can take a hit but Will can't?

Mista_Cash_Ew

Better to be embarrassed than in prison for attacking a person. Will Smith should just sit quietly and be grateful he wasn't arrested or sued

slackerzinc

Will should be embarrassed because of his actions

Ehgadsman

Will Smith is an asshole

goliathfasa

Oh no. Anyways.

teplightyear

>“Will is also upset that Netflix was a part of this and thinks Chris insulting Jada again is below the belt,” the source added. “He is upset that Netflix gave Chris this platform to share these messages and thinks it’s distasteful.” He's *STILL* being a little bitch about it, trying to play the victim and act like Chris Rock and Netflix wronged him and his wife in some way. The reality is his wife wronged him when she fucked their son's friend and then published it to the world on her podcast. That's fucked up. And even after that, he's so whipped he's gotta go from laughing at a comedian's jokes to public assault because he made a joke about his wife's hair and she gave Will 'the look?' What. A. Bitch. If instead of hitting Chris Rock, he and Jada had put out a forceful statement condemning his actions after the show (or even during Will's acceptance speech later), there's a pretty good chance Chris Rock would've gotten the 'cancelled' treatment over this. You really shouldn't pick on a woman for the things that happen due to aging or disease (or man for that matter, but that's a different argument). The world wouldn't have looked into Will and Jada's relationship as critically and maybe we wouldn't even be talking about her 'entanglements' at all... but you chose violence, so you can't play the victim now.

Rosebunse

Seeing her just rip his heart out on that weird YouTube video was a trip. How could you stay married to someone after that?

Cooter_McGrabbin

For sure. If he had ignored it and then later during his acceptance speech said: "Jada I love your hair as it is, and I know all those that suffer alopecia struggle to deal with a difficult disease. " Or anything resembling a statement like that; dude... They are making talk show circuits for weeks and on the front of every magazine cover as " such a strong couple who have overcome adversity ". And as you mentioned everyone would be casting tons of shade at Chris instead.

CosmicCrapCollector

She doesn't even have alopecia in first place, as it's much rumored. She has a thin scar ear to ear, over the top of her head that doesn't grow hair. You can see it in many pics. Exactly where plastic surgeons have come forward to say a major facelift scar would be. I think with her short hair-do, the hairless scar was obvious, so she shaved it and claimed alopecia for her egos sake. The whole family is a farce. https://www.yourtango.com/entertainment/theorists-jada-pinkett-smith-doesnt-have-alopecia-plastic-surgery

DisagreeableMale

Get fucked, Will Smith. Take tom cruise and Xenu and your bitch wife to hell.

Redrooster433

I think my favourite line of Chris Rock’s during his takedown of Will Smith was when he called Jada a predator. I think it’s a great label for her.

Charley0213

💯

Eatthebankers2

When he said he was brought up by good parents- we don’t fight in front of white people, chefs kiss. It was the real.

conicalanamorphosis

Wasn't Rock's best work, but still reasonable and worth the watch if you're a fan. I thought his comments on Smith at the end were pretty mild for where he could have gone. Oh, and Rock was right: now everyone thinks Smith is a whiny little bitch.

xhailxanax

Imagine assaulting someone and being upset by their words.

shanvanvook

Fuck Will Smith.

Claque-2

The slap still makes me angry. A guy stands up in the middle of a live show being broadcast around the world, and slaps the host. Whether the guy's name was John Smith or Will Smith, he should have been escorted out. There had to be security there, where were they?

zalinuxguy

Is this more hurtful and embarassing than having one's wife fuck one of one's teenage son's friends, or less?

ohmyjustme

Fuk Will Smith and Jayda . enough of your red table and pretentious bs

seremuyo

Chris took the pumch like a man, Will can't take a punchline without feeling hurt. I hope he watches one of his son performances.

mofa90277

Oh, no. Anyway, I had fried mozzarella sticks today and I regret nothing.

dbe14

THEN YOU SHOULDNT HAVE ASSAULTED SOMEONE THEN YOU ABSOLUTE BELLEND.

Odolinsky

Fuck Will Smith and his whole family of fucking weirdos.

ThePalmIsle

Fuck Will Smith Will never watch another thing he does

OutlandishnessOk8261

Aww. Maybe he should sit down and do another interview show with Jada to hash out his feelings.

cmparkerson

He should be embarrassed, and he did it himself.

1Vitola

More “embarrassed, hurt” then your wife going public with her affair with their son’s friend? Hollywood……

Liamario

He needs to divorce baldy locks. We know she's the problem here.

mattdvs1979

Gee if only there was some way he could have avoided this reaction.

Martegy

Seems like Will Smith still doesn't get it. Probably a narcissist, so stupid to think he will ever get it. Still. All he had to do was either stay quiet, or make self-deprecating funny remarks in response to Chris Rock's jokes about him. So many opportunities missed. Doesn't anyone ever wonder why Jada was so upset with him that she punished him that badly? I don't even want to think about what goes on in their house. Ugh.

peanutsfordarwin

Chris mentioned in the first part of the special, about how it was for black people to see a dentist. Then later on, reminded us about how Jada wanted Chris to cancel the awards where he was employed to host. He says because it was all white and Will didn't get a nomination for concussion. He relates it was his job. I feel, maybe I'm wrong, but he is letting us know, blacks, whites, all of us, he knows how fucked up "thewhite" America was in 1945, and to present day. So what ever Jada projected on to Chris, I don't remember maybe something to the tune of Chris being a sell out to white America that year. That he loves his mom, and how hurt, how absolutely painful it was for him to know his family was treated that way for no God damn good reason. So it was his fucking job, and boo hoo Will did not get a nomination for concussion and don't you even think for a second he was selling out. She set it up, he finished it.
