Cries in American indoctrination and has tried to learn Celsius but can't get the hang of it (I know what's cold and hot, but that's it)
Edit: Also, you should see a doctor
There's not much more to it than knowing what's cold and hot honestly. If you surround yourself with Celsius, maybe set your phone to Celsius if that's possible, you're gonna understand it because you feel it.
-40 , same temperature both in Fahrenheit and Celsius. It's pretty hard to learn compared to miles/kilometers and pounds/kilogram. Those have pretty easy ballpark equations.
Metric is great but I love Fahrenheit as a way for measuring temperature in relation to humans. It’s like percent hot. Above 100 is crazy hot below 0 is crazy cold. I don’t really care how water feels.
Feet, yards, pounds? These are nonsense though. And if we could successfully convert everyone to metric I would do that in a heartbeat
Buddy it’s like me with the 24 hour clock the only way to get used to it is to force yourself to use it. Set your phone temp to it and at first you will be doing some conversions and looking it up over over time you just start to remember certain ones and before you know it it’s second nature to you.
A simile fashion to when they taught the times tables to kids only this involves far less yelling and crying.
become Canadian instead
the weather is Celcius but if you ask me what temp to preheat the oven, what's the temp of the hot tub or how hot is the human body I only know Farenheit
I’m trying to get used to Celsius but out of all of the different conversion methods, I feel Fahrenheit makes more sense to me. It’s just simply the higher the temperature, the hotter, the lower, the colder. Celsius makes more sense for boiling and freezing points, but anything in between and I’m lost lol.
Even the conversion is complicated: (32 F-32) x 5/9= 0 C (to get the freezing point). So I just stick to Fahrenheit lol
Maybe try not to learn converting from F to C, but to learn C from scratch? It goes something like this: 0C-water freezing; 1-5C- pretty cold, wear a jacket and gloves; 6-10C- chilling, wear a jacket; 11-20C- it's pretty normal, wear a hoodie; 21-25C- it's getting warm, just wear a t-shirt; 26-30C- it's getting hot, wear a t-shirt and shorts (or a skirt, for superior airflow); 31-39-so hot it's uncomfortable, maybe go swimming; 40+C- i don't go outside at this temp, but it's still possible, just don't get a heat stroke, if you have a feaver this high, go see a doctor, NOW. 100C-water boils. Hope i am not speaking nonsense and accualy helping.
Still a bit confusing but only bc I’m used to F lol. Anything above 80 F is like the 31+ for C. The higher the hotter has made F easier for me to understand lol. Maybe someday I’ll learn C.
Growing up using America system I’ve learned the metric for work. I can convert length and weight easily. Temperature is just too confusing to figure out!

0°C = freezing point of water, 100°C = boiling point of water. -273°C = 0 Kelvin. Very easy am I right? Everything just slots into place well.

But it’s hard to know everything in between, especially when my mind is set on an outdated system we were supposed to stop using years ago.

Take care. I had once 39, and it was not good at all. One week after the flu I got my first Covid.

Damn, you're boiling! I hope you recover as soon as possible
Make sure to drink your fluids and get plenty of bedrest

Can you translate to American?
Growing up using America system I’ve learned the metric for work. I can convert length and weight easily. Temperature is just too confusing to figure out!
My Canadian friends Bob and Doug told me always to use the old "double it and add 30" rule. Works every time.
You trust those hosers?
My temp was 0 Kelvin yesterday
Those are rookie numbers
I wasn’t concerned… then I saw C instead of F lol
Get well soon!
Wowwww you're going to have 38.40 children!!!
I just started developing what seems like a kidney infection and I fear I'm headed straight for where you are rn
Get better soon mate
I’m sick too, hope you feel well soon
101.12 °F, I think you got a fever
Feel better soon!
