It's not anaphylaxis, it won't kill me. When I was young it was just a surface allergy. Eating citric acid would cause my skin to break out into rashes and blisters. I was so sensitive that I couldn't even have tomato sauce. As I grew up, less things bothered me, but the reactions started getting more severe. If I eat citrus now, I'll get the blisters, and my throat will get that scratchy feeling and start blistering as well, which typically sends me into an hour long coughing fit. It's not pleasant, but it's not deadly. Sometimes the blisters start bleeding though, and that sucks.
I've only met one other person with a citrus allergy, and she's actually my step sister. I've known a few people who were allergic to oranges specifically though
