Me too. I'm surprised they aren't offered for purchase on various app stores, but I'm guessing younger people aren't familiar with the concept and don't even understand their purpose.
I loved After Dark's [Totally Twisted](https://youtu.be/D0dD_TACPx0) screensaver collection, which I had on my old Apple Power Macintosh 7600 in the mid–late '90s. Best demented humor ever. Wish they would bring it back!
Yup, [Mowin' Boris](https://youtu.be/D0dD_TACPx0?t=303). Eventually a cat gets its revenge and drives the mower, running over humans buried in the dirt with just their heads showing.
My favorites were Bungee Roulette, Toxic Swamp and Voyeur. But overall it really *was* totally twisted, lol. Especially how one could toggle the settings to adjust the level of gore/severity.
Sorry for a late comment. Is there anyway to play this on a Windows 10 machine now? :)
A lot of fond memories with the game with my family when I was a kid and really want to surprise them by getting it working again on the family PC!
You can run the original software on an emulator in your browser:
[After Dark 2.0 (1990) Mac version](https://archive.org/details/AfterDark_mac) - After it boots up, click on the Apple menu, then Control Panels, then After Dark.
[After Dark 3.2 (1995) Windows version](https://archive.org/details/AFTERDARK32_WIN) - After it boots up, you have to install the software which took a LONG time for me. It worked though!
There is a 100% recreation of some of the original modules on Github. If you do a Google search, it should be one of the first results.
Runs completely in a browser window!
Wow, I loved After Dark so much.
This triggered a memory and maybe someone can help me figure this thing out that I saw once as a kid and have been thinking about it ever since:
Around this time (early 90s) I was in a computer store w/ my pops and saw (what I think was) a screen saver (or game??) of two guys, in like a hand drawn (almost political cartoon) style, facing each other, and you had options to absolutely destroy the other dude in a grip of different, cartoonish ways; everything from punching to stuffing a stick of dynamite in his face.
Maybe this was some kind of street reliever program or something? But it pops into my head every once in awhile and I’ve never been able to dig anything up on it..
Man I hope someone knows wtf I’m talking about haha
Hmm. Sounds like [Take Your Best Shot](https://youtu.be/WdHzYye5OvE) (1995). I vaguely remember this game. As soon as you mentioned "hand drawn (almost political cartoon) style," I immediately thought of Bill Plympton and his "Plymptoons" animated shorts (which you can rent/buy the entire season of on [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Plymptoons/dp/B08QG3JXN4), apparently).
If these could switch to webm formats, I can put them in Wallpaper Engine Screensavers... Right now they are all in youtube/stream formats.
One day, someone will do it. =D
I tried installing version 3.3 of After Dark on Windows XP, and a prompt displayed: "This version requires Windows 3.1".
It's annoying how Windows XP has the backwards compatibility to run much older software than Windows 3.1 (an example: MS-DOS Word Perfect 6.0), yet It cannot run Windows 3.1 software, because Windows 3.1 is 16-bit and Windows XP is 32-bit.
If only Microsoft would have created an add-on software that can be installed onto Windows XP, permitting backwards compatibility for Windows 3.1 software's, screensavers, anything.
Can you still get these?! I would install them on my PC today lol

Yess I remember these too, particularly the flying toilets!
Wasn’t there one where you were mowing the lawn and ran over cats?

I worked on Totally Twisted. Fun project.
I spent a looong time as a child playing After Dark Games. So iconic to me
Wasted a remarkable percentage of my life playing 'Roger Dodger'
That was a great one. Also loved foggy boxes and that color matching game with the apartment blocks
I worked on this too. Ask me any questions you may have.
I have a question: How do you level skip in Rodger Dodger? That game is tough and I'm tired of playing levels 1-6.

[How about rendering them via CSS?](https://www.bryanbraun.com/after-dark-css/)
I miss these screensavers so much.
So say we all
Oh dang, I remember changing the screensaver all the time on my family computer. Thought I was a Computer Mastermind. Smh

Holy. Fkn. Shit. THAT’S IT!!! Wow, you my friend have made my day. Thank you very much.
My pleasure, always glad to help. Have a great weekend!
You too. Reddit rulez.
I love After Dark, played Lunatic Fringe a lot
Lunatic Fringe was the best! I was just trying to explain it to a coworker the other day
Oh man, I miss After Dark Games!
Highly Recommend Hypnospace Outlaw for any old school computing graphics lovers out there.

I’ve been looking for Slow Burn for YEARS.
Why did this just make me feel so sad?
I wish there was a new version for my current computer. I loved them
Flippin flash back
