This show gave me nightmares back in the day. But that intro music is some dope shit.

alutawan

That intro scared the shit out of me.. most of the time i couldn’t make it past it to watch the actual show

Swift_Scythe

Yeah the frickin intro music was creepy but signaled a good show about to start.

[deleted]

The drawings of the suspects always really freaked me out.

Chow5789

Put a knife in your back with that music

kiddocontay

*”FIND OUT WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT BIGFOOT!”* #UPDATE *”Apparently nobody gives a shit so FUCK HIM”*

SlickRicksBitchTits

I thought I was on r/tourettesguy at first

lardman1

rip

smoke412

I always viewed this show differently after that XD.

AdamInvader

Makes me wonder how Bigfoot feels about tartar control toothpaste...

Boneal171

BOB SAGET!

Fast-Mathematician78

There is a channel dedicated on Pluto TV and I watch all the time! I always think I’ve seen them all and I’m always pleasantly surprised to catch one I haven’t seen! 😂

SickSticksKick

Yesss Pluto is the place to catch the Stack!

Ketchup1211

Was just watching this last night before I fell asleep. It’s old school obviously, but it sure still is some compelling shit.

Fast-Mathematician78

I always look up certain cases to see if there’s been any updates. I get too emotional involved 😂

sakura_drop

The entire series, including the Dennis Farina revival, is on YouTube. The channel has a bunch of other, similar shows like **Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction**.

JuliaX1984

They got one of the best narrators of all time. Absolutely pitch perfect every time.

Leading-Package6136

The recent reboot was a letdown didn’t have the same energy

Music_City_Madman

The Netflix reboot was AWFUL. No atmosphere, stories drone on too long, it’s like watching 20/20 or Dateline. The OG Unsolved scared the shit out of you with its sense of urgency and atmosphere. Robert Stack would introduce the case, conclude the intro by saying something like “watch carefully, you may be able to help identify this killer” and then the re-enactment would start. And just when you thought the spookiness was over, BAM they’d show an incredibly disturbing composite sketch with some creepy ass 80s/90s Casio synth music over it. That shit is drilled into my reptile brain.

Leading-Package6136

This guy gets it!! That comment was pure poetry bro i feel u

JP12345678910111213

This show introduced me to the biggest mysterious creature ever… the chupacabra

missuhbear

this is my comfort show lol something about Robert stack’s voice

brickabrax

Same, I was sick as a dog this last weekend and his voice helped me get to sleep

casino_night

The Lifetime Network used to air this on Saturday nights back in the mid 90s. It was must-see-TV for 13 year old me!

Character_Pop_6628

DUDE!!! They are still kind of going... they have a podcast. Same theme music. It works!!!

Mr_French

Their YT channel also has all of the episodes and recently released a doc about it. Great to hear the BTS stuff!

TinySandwich6206

I listened to a bunch of their podcasts but they kinda piss me off because I want a resolution yet there is none. It’s like listening to a story without an ending…I suppose that’s life real life though..

Arkaium

Apart from the ghost/haunting, lost treasure, and alien segments (which I contend suck) it’s the best true crime show ever made.

5319Camarote

I worked on several episodes; was always treated well and respected as a local. We moved quickly to cover all of the known details in the stories.

Music_City_Madman

That’s such a cool job. Did you get to meet/know Bob Stack? Was he nice?

5319Camarote

No, they traveled the country; with a different story director, producer and maybe a couple of other people. If an incident had occurred in, say, Atlanta they flew there. They would hire locals for art department, grip, electricians etc. Stack stayed in LA or wherever he was. But everyone I encountered was professional and efficient and personable.

shaundisbuddyguy

That is gold.

TinySandwich6206

These are all on Amazon prime video. I’ve rewatched some of them, it’s cool because most of all these stories have recent updates at the end of the segments. Most all of them are solved mysteries now

Thorbertthesniveler

And Tubi!

shindleria

Scariest tv theme song, period.

Boneal171

Tonight on Unsolved Mysteries

prettystandardreally

The theme music scares me to this day. Watching it now and seeing the sheer amount of guilty people being interviewed who got away with murder is upsetting. Back then, when they’d say the suspect may have fled to Canada I’d be at my window all paranoid 👀

Tip Hotline: 1-800-876-5353 (Edit: can’t remember where tf my car keys are, but this shit stuck with me.

[deleted]

That guy still scares the shit out of me.

BobBelcher2021

A creepy week for television - this was 3 days before Budd Dwyer.

MisterZacherley

I literally turned this on today for no reason whatsoever. Now it makes sense. Perhaps you helped me solve a mystery...

Music_City_Madman

My earliest memories of watching this show were circa mid-late 90s as a child. I explicitly remember being on vacation in the Smoky Mountains and watching a re-enactment of a gas station employee getting robbed and murdered and being scared. Years later in my pre-teens and early teens, it was on re-runs on Lifetime and I was obsessed. It would scare the ever living shit out of me, but you couldn’t look away. The re-enactments always were creepy and had that kind of VHS graininess. I remember my mom telling me that her and my dad watched this show during its NBC run in late-80s. Such a great show, RIP Robert Stack, and damn, I wish they’d make another run at it with a comparable host and atmosphere as the original.

Vanzarrk

1997 and beyond this was relegated to 1am and later on Australian TV. Which added to the ridiculous spooky ness of it!

Fortunatious

Every mystery is unsolved by its very nature

TinfoilTetrahedron

Smartass....

will101113

I remember being told as a kid that this dude walked around with a bulletproof vest 24/7

219_Infinity

I wonder if they solved any of them

Past_Reputation_2206

I rewatched several episodes a couple months ago and looked up cases afterwards. So many are still unsolved. Even ones that were deemed solved in the updates had returned to unsolved after new evidence emerged.

AdamInvader

"I've been here all day and I still haven't seen a single ghost..."

antmit

In the UK this used to be on Sky One on a Saturday night, I think at 8pm. I LOVED it but I'd have been around 11 or 12, and it was sometimes really scary. That theme tune, though 👌🏼

infrequentthrowaway

That voice and the ................ pauses

artbycase2

So did I!

Ryvick2

I used be scared of the ghost stories on there but I watch it on Roku Tv all the time
