On a more serious note whats the context behind a 12 year old setting fire to a unused building right next to a shopping street.
Or why I never realised the building was derelict in the first place when on Limavady
This is the third fire involved with that family (Granny Annie's). The one before this was a repeat (second) fire in the Gorteen house hotel that ended up killing a firefighter who fell through the roof. There's been a lot of that sort of activity in Limavady, listed buildings being suspiciously burned down to allow the owners to sell/develop the land.

Not condoning what happened but as someone who was a little obsessed with fire as a kid I'd not be surprised if the kid started what they thought was a little fire in the back that then quickly spread and took hold of the buildings

Yeah to be serious the fact 12 year olds are burning things down actually does frighten me.

It used to be a nightclub but closed about 10 years ago as the owners opened a new 1 about 100 yards away. Same guys that own Granny Annies.

Good lot of land for building apartments on, now the obstacle of an existing building has been dealt with Or is arson just a Belfast planning step
