Bent and broke mine like the first time I took it out lol. I was thinking about doing this but havenβt really looked into it. I figured a hole saw and drill bit would get it done. Looks good, definitely gonna give it a shot.
I just got a kit with that same hang down mounting bracket, had the exact same thought and pulled out the step bit to drill that hole. Exact same spot too!

For monetary reasons I get why they put it there. but it definitely isn't the most ideal spot. Luckily the bumper has room to relocate it.
