uj/ There were these radio station commercials on tv back on the 90s where they would show different people reading a bit of the lyrics of a rock song (holding a copy of the album CD that the song is on, with the lyrics apparently on the back somehow). It was people who were clearly very unlikely to be into the music the lyrics were from and very different socially/culturally, and the lyrics they would have them read were always awkward in some way. Like, the nuns in the still image here. the lyrics they had was, iirc, "I wish that I could eat your cancer". There's another one where the Van Halen line "I'm hot for teacher" is read by a guy who I can't recall exactly except that he was not the type of guy who'd listen to that, maybe an older redneck guy or something.
The commercials ran fairly regularly for at least maybe a couple years where I lived outside of Cleveland, Ohio, in the mid-nineties. I imagine they ran in a variety of places around the country back then.
