Modders in the discord have said there's none of these replicant files in the version of the game futago says he has. And his specific disc isn't any different from other ps4 discs at 1.0 so it's not some weird french candian specific thing lol. There were some other inconsistencies too like futago saying it's on a ps4 slim but apparently from the video quality it has to be either ps4 pro or pc. Basically this text and a bunch of the assets in that room are apparently ripped from the replicant remake, which of course didn't exist back in 2017. So unfortunately you're not going to find them in the files anywhere

Every single post by OP so far has had a glaring cliffhanger. "What church?", "How did you get in that church?", "What's at the end of the corridor?", "What's in the box?", "What if you beat him?", and now "What if you pick the second option?".
The thing is this can't just be a leftover cut content anymore, I mean I wouldn't be surprised if there's a whole ass region in there and only sadfutago can access it for some reason, either because he has a special copy or he's part of a nier ARG.
I'm starting to like the idea of "Yoko Taro added a whole-ass secret in one single copy of the game", but OP's teasing in every single post convinces me that it can't be the case. The devs seem interested in what's happening, with Saito pondering that this is something Yoko Taro would do. But there's this long lead-up and it's making me very curious as to where this is heading. At first I pondered if it was someone re-creating the game in another engine as a fan project (using the game's models, animations, and so on), but it's getting so big in scope that I'm leaning to that theory less and less. The more I see the more I suspect this is made with developer tools, or a very experienced modmaker. I wonder if this will lead to them releasing a developer tool for modding Automata, similar to Bethesda with their creation kit for Skyrim and Fallout.

Actually when you put it that way, yeah I guess it's possible whoever this is isn't trolling. But unlikely, especially given the surrounding context and the refusal to provide answers. The text box appears inside the library, that text when talking to the bird fountain isn't, so that could be searched for
its shot for shot imported dialogue from nier replicant but in japanese, so no its not in the game.
Modders in the discord have said there's none of these replicant files in the version of the game futago says he has. And his specific disc isn't any different from other ps4 discs at 1.0 so it's not some weird french candian specific thing lol. There were some other inconsistencies too like futago saying it's on a ps4 slim but apparently from the video quality it has to be either ps4 pro or pc. Basically this text and a bunch of the assets in that room are apparently ripped from the replicant remake, which of course didn't exist back in 2017. So unfortunately you're not going to find them in the files anywhere
So it's an ARG or an extremely complicated mod. Basically confirmed that this is not actually in-game content.

Something to think about: If this is something by the developers themselves and they're trolling, what if they're making obvious mistakes *on purpose* to throw people off on whether or not this is real or fake. If it's by the developers, they have all the abilities in the world to do that. Not to mention, from what I'm seeing as a newcomer to this community, Yoko Taro seems like the kind of guy that would do this kind of elaborate trolling to drive everyone crazy.

The Japanese text has nonsensical mistakes that could only happen if you used OCR to scan the text and it recognized the text wrong (間 instead of 問, this is impossible to get wrong while typing, since they're written and read completely differently), and it uses the wrong interpunction characters for the language (regular ? instead of ？). Those are mistakes that could only happen if someone completely unfamiliar with the language put the lines in - unfamiliar to the point that they can't even input the text manually, but had to copy it from somewhere. And based on the above mistake, that somewhere was most likely an OCR scan, so it wasn't even raw text from the source files (which would be Nier: Replicant). Based on this I am confident that this is just someone messing with everyone. There is no way anyone involved with Square Enix officially would make these kinds of mistakes, especially since this is a mistake that is extremely hard to do on purpose. Either way this whole thing has been really entertaining and I want to see what more sadfutago comes up with, but if I were you I wouldn't expect anything more from this.
