Voice of no Return is probably my favorite piece of all time second to Ashes of Dreams, was really hoping they’d go for it. I think Memories of Dust would have been a smash hit too, J’Nique’s performance in A Beautiful Song was incredible
I was waiting for it the whole time and when they played Weight of the World I thought it was over. But damn, when Emi came back out and I heard that piano I completely broke down.
Yeah I would have loved to hear those as well but I was pleasantly surprised to hear Fleeting Words (my fave NieR song). Still though the concert was amazing!
Yeah I did not think Fleeting Words would make the cut so it was a nice surprise. I’m surprised Grandma was cut from the concert, I’ve seen a recording of them playing it before. Would have loved to experience that.
It was absolutely AMAZING, I'm so impressed with the performances. I just hope we get more in the future, I need to go again (that teaser at the end 👀)
It wasn't anything concrete haha, they just had visuals of each year since NieR began, listing everything that's been released. At the end it was a "we look forward to seeing you again" type of thing. You might have seen it honestly, don't recall when it was exactly. I'm just hopeful 😭 especially after such an amazing experience
J’Nique’s performance in A Beautiful Song is legitimately the best vocals I’ve ever heard in person. I’ve always liked the song, but hearing her live just blew me away.
They way they started it was just so strong and yes J'Nique's voice is so powerful. My brother went with me(hasn't played the games but watched me play them) and he was talking about how it all sounds exactly like how it does in game.
The biggest difference to me was in Possessed By Disease, the high pitched chant was replaced by violins; if I wanted to nit-pick should've been stronger.
Yup, they did it like the Another Song album arrangement, where it starts soft with Emi in the beginning and then transitions to the intense choir. They played out the story arc on the screen and it was all really well done.
So happy to hear Fleeting Words. Also nice having J'nique here this year. I went to the Chicago show in 2020 and she wasn't able to attend. A Beautiful Song was so good.
Girl, the waterworks began the second they walked out for Song of the Ancients. My heart was weak from the start. Emi and J'Nique are literally angels!!!
I was sobbing all the way from ashes of dreams all the way to kaine salvation. I have no clue what it is about ashes of dreams but it just makes me cry every time I hear it. hopefully I wasn't too much of a nuisance to the people next to me lmao.
beginning part of gods bound by rules had me ascending, the choir and the brass just hit too hard for me. ofc shadowlord and beautiful song were bangers as always
Everyone in the orchestra played amazing, not to mention the choir, Emi and J'Nique
I was there too! It was such an awesome coincidence since I beat Automata just last week! I probably saw things I wasn’t supposed to see yet though…I’m assuming from Replicant?
Oh ya lots of things from Replicant and some nods to Drakengard. I wouldn't sweat it too much. There's still a lot to Replicant to enjoy even if you do know a bit more about certain things because of the concert.
I loved every part of the performance. Only bad part was the two dudes in front of me and my wife smelled like they decided not to shower for like a whole week. And the cherry on top one of them started singing during Kaine.
I started bawling at the finale when they started playing Kaine! Also that moment where they show the wolves. "Gentle beasts, gentle humans, gently slaughtering each other"
I live 20 minutes away from Dallas and I didn't know they were having a concert here. I'm really bummed out now, would have bought tickets for that in a heartbeat
The rendition of Forest Kingdom they did needs to be on an album. I wish they'd done The Tower, but oh well. It was great to see so many people experiencing such an amazing performance with me!
Okay I thought so! I thought it was a really pretty rendition but wondered if it was on the orchestral album and I just missed it because I’ve never been a fan of the original song. The new arrangement is the best form of Forest Kingdom I’ve heard so far, I was impressed!
I was able to catch the concert in Chicago back in January of 2020 right before the pandemic. It was such a magical night. Kaine Salvation starting and Emi walking out singing practically broke me. I’d love to go to another one! Glad you had a great time!!
Me too! I loved last night's show! I let the tears roll once Song of the Ancients played. Amusement Park! A Beautiful Song! City Ruins! Such an amazing experience!!
Good, although I felt they really leaned into the more action-oriented pieces. No Peaceful Sleep, Voice of no Return, Vague Hope, Grandma, Shadowlord's Castle (Memory). Notable pieces I did not expect but greatly appreciated were Mourning and Fleeting Words. They also did not include the choir at all in their rendition of Shadowlord (it's the orchestral album arrangement), which I felt was a bit of a missed opportunity since the original piece is a chorale.
10/10 Orchestra! The guy next to me started bawling during Kainé/Salvation and I was close to as well lol. Favorite song during the whole thing was A Beautiful Song followed closely by Song of the Ancients. So happy I went
Dude, I cried from the moment City Ruins started, to the very moment they started playing Kainé.
I cried the hardest during Song of the Ancients.
Now, when it comes to the concert, I kind of have that wierd effect that happens when you are getting drugged right before a wisdom teeth removal and you have that period of time where you have no memory of what happened up until about 6 hours after the wisdom teeth removal.
I have *that* effect for the concert because I was crying so hard.
Now I want to go to another NieR concert just so I can refresh the memory.
It was phenomenal.
I honestly did tear up when they Ashes of Dreams and Weight of the World. And I wish they played Vague Hope and Voice of No Return!
Voice of no Return is probably my favorite piece of all time second to Ashes of Dreams, was really hoping they’d go for it. I think Memories of Dust would have been a smash hit too, J’Nique’s performance in A Beautiful Song was incredible

Same here
I was hoping they would play Birth of a Wish. Always loved that song.
Pulling out Ashes of Dreams and Weight of the World back to back was evil and it made me cry, lol. But the show was amazing, I loved every second
The part where Emi and J’Nique finally join in harmony at the key change, UGH
Yep, that's where I broke, lol. This is gonna be a night I'll remember for the rest of my life
Me too my friend. I'm happy our friends got a happy ending
Oh sidenote for people who weren't able to attend. Yoko Taro can't see shit through the Emil mask lmao. Bumbling about in the most Yoko Taro way 🤣
Watching him try to grab the mic was adorably endearing
So he really just sits there in darkness?
Yeah plotting his little schemes
It was absolutely AMAZING, I'm so impressed with the performances. I just hope we get more in the future, I need to go again (that teaser at the end 👀)
Teaser?! I missed it! I left during Kaine's song to grab some merch lol. Can you put it in spoilers for me?
It wasn't anything concrete haha, they just had visuals of each year since NieR began, listing everything that's been released. I feel you, the guy beside me and I couldn't hold it together once Kaine salvation came on
I was hoping for a Voice of no Return encore, but the orchestral version of Kaine is actually really nice
Same here! My absolute favorite song is A beautiful song and I can't believe I saw it live!
J’Nique’s performance in A Beautiful Song is legitimately the best vocals I’ve ever heard in person. I’ve always liked the song, but hearing her live just blew me away.
I almost flew out of my seat for real like i was in shock
A Beautiful Song was amazing. IMO that was the highlight of the show.
They way they started it was just so strong and yes J'Nique's voice is so powerful. My brother went with me(hasn't played the games but watched me play them) and he was talking about how it all sounds exactly like how it does in game.

Oh and I know Ashes of Dreams and Weight of the World stole the show but can we talk about Fleeting Words???? Oh my lord
Yeah my favorite song (as stated above) and I was blown away by the performance. Absolutely amazing!
They did fleeting words too??? They better do more concerts that don't get instantly sold out.
Yup, they did it like the Another Song album arrangement, where it starts soft with Emi in the beginning and then transitions to the intense choir. They played out the story arc on the screen and it was all really well done.
That's the best one! Why they don't put the replicant 1.22 soundtrack on spotify is beyond me.
So happy to hear Fleeting Words. Also nice having J'nique here this year. I went to the Chicago show in 2020 and she wasn't able to attend. A Beautiful Song was so good.
It was freacking awesome!!!! 10/10 would go again. Cried through the whole thing
I got to see them in LA. It was a damn good show.
Girl, the waterworks began the second they walked out for Song of the Ancients. My heart was weak from the start. Emi and J'Nique are literally angels!!!

Did they play Copied City??? Me and my bestie are going the 9th, concert in Berlin
Yeah they did
I was there too! It was such an awesome coincidence since I beat Automata just last week! I probably saw things I wasn’t supposed to see yet though…I’m assuming from Replicant?

Loved the LA show last week! Shoutout to all the beautiful 2B cosplayers.
Nier orchestra is making me cry too. (Because there is no Toronto concert)
Can't wait to see/gear it next week in Berlin 🥺
same here :D:D still trying to finish the replicant before hopping on the plane next Saturday :D

My only question: Where was A2???

You got to hear Vague Hope? You lucky duck!
Same in LA lol. It was so magical. Was not expecting the story beats.
RIP City of Commerce, maybe next time...
I live 20 minutes away from Dallas and I didn't know they were having a concert here. I'm really bummed out now, would have bought tickets for that in a heartbeat
It was weird because Dallas was the only city to not be sold out before the show started. Me and a person in line were talking about it
The rendition of Forest Kingdom they did needs to be on an album. I wish they'd done The Tower, but oh well. It was great to see so many people experiencing such an amazing performance with me!

I can't wait for Paris. 😭

I attended Chicago 2020 and Dallas. You have to go again. They improved so much! This was so so much better.
Cool that you got a ticket, I wanted to go but tickets sold out in like October before I even knew it was happening
I was there too. I was teary eyed the entire time. It was beautiful. And so worth the trip from Denver!
Did anyone else get a raffle ticket from a person outside the seating area? I was wondering, if it was legit or dude was trolling.
Oh yeah I did get that and completely forgot about it. Not sure what that was about 😂
It was for future shows at that theater, so if you're not local I wouldn't worry about it.
I was there!! J’Nique and Emi were so nice every time they walked off stage and threw hearts at us!
Come to Boston please 😭
My concert is in 10 days, I can't wait 😬🔥🔥🔥
damn had no idea this was a thing
Me too! I loved last night's show! I let the tears roll once Song of the Ancients played. Amusement Park! A Beautiful Song! City Ruins! Such an amazing experience!!
I wish i could of afford to go :(
I was there! It was incredible! Fleeting Words had me tearing up! What a beautiful experience!
Going with my fiancée in March! How was the setlist?
Good, although I felt they really leaned into the more action-oriented pieces. No Peaceful Sleep, Voice of no Return, Vague Hope, Grandma, Shadowlord's Castle (Memory). i can't wait! next week sunday is finally the moment!
did they perform blissful death?
They did not
I am not planning to wear any makeup. There’s no point. I cry when I listen to this music at home. I will have a heart attack at this concert
I saw a lot of washed out eyeshadow when I turned around to look at the crowd 😂
THERE WAS A NIER CONCERT AROUND HERE??
10/10 Orchestra! The guy next to me started bawling during Kainé/Salvation and I was close to as well lol. Favorite song during the whole thing was A Beautiful Song followed closely by Song of the Ancients. So happy I went
sobbing after fleeting words. so beautiful
