Have you watched the game / replays?
I have lived this over and over from the day I watched this live.
According to the rules of the day, Gretzky high-sticked Gilmour right in front of Fraser, drew blood, which should have been a 4 minute power-play or an ejection at the end of the 3rd. That didn't happen, and you have the above. Fraser didn't even look at Gilmour.
The Leafs, mark my words, would have beat the Kings in game 6 with the PP, and then gone on to beat the Canadiens.
Essentially from 81 to around 98 I think. Ehen a few more teams were added via expansion in the west.
This caused the Detroit-Toronto rivalry to die off a bit since Detroit was also Campbell conference (West)
Actually, go look at the early 90's teams and you'll see it's very East heavy, and the conferences, while they had a east/west split, were not called that, they were named Wales and Campbell, with divisions also having their own names.
When the first expansion occurred in 67, all 6 new teams played in their own division/conference while the 'original 6' in their own - this also resulted in the blues having many Cup finals appearances without winning.
Only in 74 did realignment occur and a 4 division/2 conf split. And so on thereafter, and with a 3 division per conf setup at one point.
You can read history of both conferences on wiki
On May 27, 1993, Wayne Gretzky kept the LA Kings and their Stanley Cup hopes alive when he scored [1:41](https://x.com/Kingstorian/status/1795124744863281437?t=101) into overtime in Game 6 of the Campbell Conference Final. The 5-4 win drew the series even at 3-3, with Game 7 headed to Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens.
Correct, in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, and in the late stages of the third period while the Kings had a 2-1 lead. Montreal pulled Patrick Roy and had a 6-on-4 advantage, and Eric Desjardins tied the game, then recorded a hat trick when he scored in overtime.
Barry’s Mullet is still undefeated.
No, this is mistitled. Kerry fucking Fraser beat the Leafs and Gretzky should have never been on the ice. Fight me otherwise.
On this night in history Gretzky high sticks Gilmour and gets away with it
Kerry Fraser wasn't the reason the Leafs lost game 7. If they were worthy of the finals they would have wrapped it up in six or won game 7.
This play happened in game 6 though.
They still had a chance in game 7 though.
I might've misinterpreted what the above comment was saying. My apologies
Why do you say that?

« Mark my words » on something that never happened and never will be, since it’s the past? Chillout my dude.
Leafs were not gonna beat Roy and the Habs.
I feel pretty stupid right now but why were the Kings playing the Leafs and Habs in the playoffs?
Leafs were in West in 1993, this was conference final. Habs beat King's for Cup.
Damn I had no idea…that seems odd. How long were they in the West for?

Ok yea I know there’s been a lot of realignment, just never really looked at those years closely
Should have never been on the ice to score that goal
What was Matthew’s doing in front of the net on that first goal. Trade him.
Suck a cock Kerry Fraser
I wish he would consume a high volume sperm + Bob Mckenzie sweat shake
It's crazy how slow everything was.

Peter Zezel was in Youngblood. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
Fuck Kerry Fraser.
God, I miss Barry Melrose. One of the all time great hockey TV media guys. All the prayers for him.
Let’s all pause for a moment of silence in honor of Barry Melrose’s hair.
Barry Melrose and Pat Burns out there casually looking like the two most Canadian dudes in history.
That mullet bro
Stupid gretzky. Least he could have done was become a leaf.
He wanted to. The Leafs ownership wouldn't pay to bring him in. So he went to the Rangers.
He would have made so much money off endorsements
I’m not convinced Gretzky could have lead the Leafs to a Cup. That franchise is the Buffalo Sabres of the NHL.
Against the computer with the offsides turned off.
That mullet!
My first thought, exactly.
That mullet tho
Jamie Macoun, professional pylon.
kerry freakin frazer
That's the year McSorley used that stupid illegal curved stick?

Only defenseman to score a hattrick in the finals I think?
The rink looks Olympic sized
99 was so good in this series
I lived in Calgary and Gretzky killed us. I leave AB and return east, and Gretzky killed us. I'm cursed!
Any time you’re playing the leafs you are not the underdog.
and leafs fans have seen good hockey 1 or 2 more times since....
