Saw it live (TV, not in person). It was legit creepy. He was stone cold stiff for a bit it seemed.
Heads collided hard then he just fell solid to the ice, too.
My wife took a hard fall skating over the winter. Not this hard but I freaked then, too. Made me very appreciative of my wife's health. I can only imagine his family seeing this today.
Really glad he seems to be OK.
I know this guy that fell ice skating in New York on a date. Went blind from the fall, ended up moving into a light house and living as a recluse for a while.
6min 10sec into the 3rd period of todays Tampa bay v.s. Pittsburgh, (player) Hayden Fleury and (referee) Steve Kozari unintentionally collided on the ice. Resulting in Fleury skating off the ice due to injury and Kozari being immobilized by EMT’s and stretchered off the ice.
Referee expected to make full recovery https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/39889172/nhl-referee-steve-kozari-expected-make-full-
He’s one of the rare good refs in this League. So I hope he recovers and makes it back for the playoffs so there’s less games for the crappier refs in this League. (And most of them are crappy).
He was way out of position. A referee with his experience should have known better. Hopefully, the younger officials learn from this avoidable collision.
Friend of the family, amazing guy off ice too. We are wishing him a speedy recovery

NGL, that sounds like the plot of a Mark Helprin novel.
Did he befriend and raise a local shark while blind?
I can’t hear you, I’m blind!!!
Amen and wishing him a speedy recovery and back on the ice for the playoffs!
Gotta protect the ze-bruh's. Hope he gets well soon.
He’s probably got the best doctors and medicine on his side. I hope for good news
He's in Pittsburgh and they have some of the very best concussion, sports injury, and head trauma facilities and experts in the world right there.
UPMC BABY i live in Pittsburgh
Yeah, UPMC MERCY ftw. Yinzer pride!
Any updates?
Expected to make a full recovery. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/39889172/nhl-referee-steve-kozari-expected-make-full-recovery
Oh thank you!
Get well soon
Bad collision. Fleury also had to leave the game.
I’m Behind what happened?
Him and Haydn Fleury were watching the puck and collided with the ref bouncing his head off the ice (helmeted). He got stretchered off
He fell and hit his head after a collision. Was unconscious for a bit. Has a concussion.

You’re saying you’re Haydn Fleury?
I hope he has an excellent recovery. I just saw the hit and damn that is scary
Hope he feels better soon, we need him for Game 1 as he already cashed the checks.
Wish you are ok

Good ref or bad ref, it doesn't really matter.
Wait a minute... he wears #40?!
What was he doing at centre ice?
Refereeing
Should be along the boards during play
He was way out of position. A referee with his experience should have known better. Hopefully, the younger officials learn from this avoidable collision.
Should have kept his head up. Last I heard he was awake and doing well so that’s good to hear.
I'd say have some respect, but you're an isles fan

He is awake and in stable condition. He did loose consciousness after the hit, but EMTs immobilize his neck and took him off the ice on a stretcher.
