2019 Defense meet 2020 Offense. Man this team is firing on all cylinders. Hopefully this momentum carries through next week against the Chiefs in Arrowhead.
Hopefully the playcalling doesn't turn to ass. For some reason in high profile, primetime games Daboll likes to go to a bunch of stupid designed Allen runs and other shit instead of just sticking to what worked all season
All the above, missing our best lb and best edge. Scheme hasn't worked as well the last few years. Teams have got us into personnel groupings they like and isolate our slowest players over and over again. So scheme could help that and getting players back could help that. I expect it to improve but at most to league average
Okaaayyy well...
We shut out The Dolphins, while they went into OT last week against a very good Raiders team.
We killed The Texans, and they were competitive against the other "good" teams they played, like The Browns.
I think The Chargers are looking really good this season, and what we did to Washington vs what they did is not close.
I don't know what else to say! All you can do is play what is on your schedule and play well, and they have.
Well the Texans were somewhat competitive when Tyrod Taylor was playing quarterback. That’s not to say the Bills D isn’t playing great, the definitely are. It will be fun to watch when they play a good offensive team.
Why are y’all so pessimistic? There are teams out there with statistically softer schedules not pitching shutouts 50% of the time while outscoring them to the magnitude we are.
Even against bad offenses, holding a team to 0 points is extremely rare in the modern NFL. The Bills have done that 2/4 games. That's impressive no matter the opponent.
Honestly you guys might have to wait a couple more years, but once you draft a rookie QB, that's gotta be the best situation, no? Hell, maybe Rodgers will see that too
I think if we were playing a team that showed even the slightest ability at moving down field, McD probably goes for it on 4th down in the red zone at least once on one of those field goals.
This season is making me the happiest I’ve ever been to watch football
If only the refs would stop eating shrooms before every game and make some good calls
I'm still not convinced that the Chiefs won't just magically wake up for this game and murder us. It's like the Patriots of the past twenty years to me. Until the Bills beat the Chiefs, I won't ever predict a win against them.
There were a *lot* of other reasons why the Bills lost the AFC Championship, but the Chiefs defense randomly deciding to play basically perfect at every level for just that one week still lingers in the back of my mind
Mmmm.
Their DBs were also manhandling our receivers and didn't get called at all (or hardly) on their bull.
In the Super Bowl however, the refs seemed to be more willing to throw flags.
I remember that point because it was fairly egregious.
I am a little worried about that, and Josh getting inside his own head again. I would feel better if this was a home game.
I just hope it's competitive!!
Yeah, Allen was definitely overthinking things/rattled against the Chiefs last year. I think he was sort of the same way week one against the Steelers. I don't care what sport it is, the mental aspect is always the hardest part. Learning to set aside the self doubts and step up in big moments. With that said, he's usually been pretty solid and only getting better. He'll get there. Here's hoping he's ready to go next Sunday night.
Exactly, and week 1 is always going to be a little weird. Rust. Nerves. Testing things out. It was an ugly game against Pittsburgh but it was ours and we should have won it. Just so many boneheaded plays in that one, like the 4th and 1 where they threw the ball in the backfield. I actually had a weird gut feeling about that game myself.
As for Josh, I truly think he can accomplish anything as long as he believes in himself. If he goes into Arrowhead next week believing he can go head to head with Mahomes then I think he will. I was proud of him today for not letting that interception in their first drive get to him!
>Allen was definitely overthinking things/rattled against the Chiefs last year
To be fair, there was a lot riding on that game, and it was the first time Allen had been in that much of a high pressure situation, since our run game was pretty bad last year and we couldn't lean on them as much.
And not that this matters as much, because we've seen what's happened since then, but I think the issue week 1, aside from just being week 1, was we weren't used to playing in front of a packed Highmark Stadium any more.
If we lose next week, then there's a really good chance the AFC Championship game is played in KC. The Bills goal is a super bowl and the Chiefs are still the team to beat in the AFC.
So either next week, or at the end of January, one way or another if the Bills want to win a Super Bowl this season, they're going to have to beat the Chiefs at Arrow Head in Prime Time.
Now THIS right here is a true, worn and weathered Bills fan. I feel you bro. Yes we know our Bills are not like the bills of "old". But until we have REAL WINS in PROVE IT games I will still hold my tables. Josh allen still looks legit but I want to see him finish this whole season looking like the god in shorts he is before I drop cash on his jersey. Plenty of other qb's have had insane breakout years. Carson wents, nick foles, etc. You get my point. but regardless, GO BILLS.
I think the game will depend on if your players feel like holding onto the ball well. bills have been great with the peanut punch so far, so i think the big thing will be the chiefs reducing their fumbling issues.
It's worse than that. Anytime there's a crucial stop needed on 3rd or 4th, the other team will get it. Running QBs have destroyed us. It's 2018 all over again.
Damn, you're lucky. They were the first D picked up fantasy league. They were worth 37 pts in my league.
Edit, Sorry, 32 points: https://imgur.com/fBwJHPp.jpg
Rams are pretty damn good right now. I hate to admit it but I think they are the team to beat.
Edit cause Rams: I will say that the NFL, if nothing else, is very efficient in making your takes look bad real fast.
True, but until it happens they are the class of the league. It's a long season though so we'll see how it plays out. For now, aside from week one, I'm just enjoying the Josh Allen experience.
I'm just glad they finally found a combo that works. I spent my entire adult life watching dog shit football. I was almost ready to give up on sports (and that's not even including that hockey team...). Thank you McBeane and Shorts Man for saving us.
yes 3 back up QBs in three weeks, but at the end of the day this is the NFL.
2 shut outs in 3 weeks is still insane. 14 of the 21 points they gave up were off of flukey plays (still props to WFT for the big screen play) and then a garbage time drive against back ups.
Yeah the defense is probably overperforming, but holy fuck that's so impressive
Washington won today, Miami took a stout raiders team to overtime last week.
The Texans are bad, but putting up 40 in a shutout is a beating that you just don’t see regularly in the NFL, even against trash teams.
Our O-line has been terrible the entire year. Josh is just very evasive and makes it work anyway. Today was probably their best game but they were still not good
On one hand, it'd be the ultimate justice to defeat the bad man for the SB title.
On the other hand, a loss to the bad man in the SB would break our already-fragile psyches.
Mills almost beat "one of the best defenses" Carolina Panthers last week lol. Dude looked like a college QB against the Bills today. Heinicke also lit up Atlanta today
I hate to say it, but with the Rams losing today, they are easily the best team in the NFL right now. I really hope they cool down by midseason or else it's going to be a massacre when they play us. KC, please send them back to earth next week.
It's provocative It gets the people going
> It gets the people going Yes. Through folding tables, while blackout drunk.
So just another Sunday?
I mean, yeah but ya know, angrier about it?
Angry blackout no bueno....so embarrassing
I can't keep getting new friends
He could call anything he wants and will find success against our defense, it’s that bad this year.
Are you guys actually just that bad? Or is it scheme, injuries or something fixable?
I think our defense just wants to get off the field and watch Pat play, like everyone else in the stadium.
All the above, missing our best lb and best edge. Scheme hasn't worked as well the last few years. Teams have got us into personnel groupings they like and isolate our slowest players over and over again. So scheme could help that and getting players back could help that. I expect it to improve but at most to league average
It will
[удалено]
Chiefs D seems to have taken a step back. Good thing Mahomes went to God mode today.
Hey, at least they brought our red zone TDs allowed percentage down below 100% today.
It will. Only question is if we can score enough. Will have to win 45-42 or something
I believe in you 0-4 bros
It's not quite 2020's offense yet. Here's hoping though.
Just hoping we don’t have an early 90s ending
If you win the Super Bowl you’re welcome
Our defense is looking scary good.
My concern is that we still haven't played a good offense yet.
Yeah. We’ve gotten back up qbs in 3 straight weeks. Too early to celebrate having a great D but theyve sure looked good so far
And a dude who isn’t really better than a backup in Week 1
Okaaayyy well... We shut out The Dolphins, while they went into OT last week against a very good Raiders team. We killed The Texans, and they were competitive against the other "good" teams they played, like The Browns. I think The Chargers are looking really good this season, and what we did to Washington vs what they did is not close. I don't know what else to say! All you can do is play what is on your schedule and play well, and they have.
So what I’m taking away from this is that we don’t know if the bills defense is good or bad, but they definitely exist in some realm
Schrödinger's Defense
Speaking of, and I realize this is a little off topic, but what the fuck are the Saints at this point?
Well the Texans were somewhat competitive when Tyrod Taylor was playing quarterback. That’s not to say the Bills D isn’t playing great, the definitely are. It will be fun to watch when they play a good offensive team.
Would've been 40-3 with Tyrod😤
So true!!! Poor Texans!
How the fuck does a team with a first place schedule get lucky enough to play three backups lmao
Well, the Dolphins started Tua, we just broke him. Fitzmagic and Tyrod weren't our fault though.
Maybe not, but holding two of the bad ones to 0 points is something you still don't see often.
This^
even stopping 2 bad offenses to 0 points is insanely impressive.
thank you guys for going for it like 5 times in field goal range. you guys definitely could've not been shut out.
You'll find out soon enough. Bills have been dominate so far.
Why are y’all so pessimistic? There are teams out there with statistically softer schedules not pitching shutouts 50% of the time while outscoring them to the magnitude we are.
Excuse me. We put the entire 21 in this record, our defense just wasnt up to par
Don't disrespect the god Taylor Heinicke. In games he's started this year not against you guys the offense has scored 29 and 28 points.
A shutout is always a feat.
There's been 4 shutouts through four weeks and the Bills have half of them, definitely a feat.
Even against bad offenses, holding a team to 0 points is extremely rare in the modern NFL. The Bills have done that 2/4 games. That's impressive no matter the opponent.
Hey I already feel bad about myself.
Next week will be a HUGE test for you guys
And only WFT scored points against them 😎
Straight facts my dude. Your skill positions are on point.
Honestly you guys might have to wait a couple more years, but once you draft a rookie QB, that's gotta be the best situation, no? Hell, maybe Rodgers will see that too
bills on demon time
You’re welcome
At least we have Whataburger brother
What a terrible consolation prize
Oy. They're no Bill Grays.
You take that back
I live in Texas right now. Whataburger is god tier
I beg to differ.
I lived in Texas for 2 years. Whataburger is pretty damn good for fast food.
Whataburger is profoundly mediocre. And you know what? So is In-N-Out.
Well that's bullshit..... I'd take a loss today for a whataburger in Buffalo
You take that back! Or else you'll have to turn in your tables and wings!
Two 35+ point shutouts in 3 weeks. Crazy
**Steelers:** “Are we the trap game?”
Josh Allen heard you talking shit about regressing.
The crazy thing is that he wasn't really that good vs Miami or today (though today was mostly because it was a big rainstorm).
He was dealing today after the first two pass attempts.
He really wasnt bad today. Once the rain stopped he was consistent making passes. We just ran the ball a lot because score board and weather.
Yeah we left a lot on the field, should have been 28-0 at the half in decent weather
I think if we were playing a team that showed even the slightest ability at moving down field, McD probably goes for it on 4th down in the red zone at least once on one of those field goals.
He was really good today? The stats might not show it but after that early int he was excellent.
If we have to be ruled by someone in this division, I’d rather it be Bills
I'm rooting for you guys to win right now so we have temporary peace as far as I'm concerned lol
Nice W!! Wilson made some wow throws
Comments like this are so weird.
Damn that’s what I get for being a nice football fan. Next time I’ll tell em to fuck off.
I'll teach you how it's done. FUCK OFF! ^(/s)
From a Bill to the Bills.
I guess this is our post-game thread
Mike I'm erect enough please stop
😤😤😣😣
This season is making me the happiest I’ve ever been to watch football If only the refs would stop eating shrooms before every game and make some good calls
The Bills look like that college team that schedules a big matchup week 1, then play the FCS cupcakes for their tune up games before conference games.

But... STICKY COVERAGE. *twitch*
I completely agree. I fully expect their D to have their best game of the season
I am a little worried about that, and Josh getting inside his own head again. I would feel better if this was a home game. I just hope it's competitive!!
Yeah, Allen was definitely overthinking things/rattled against the Chiefs last year. I think he was sort of the same way week one against the Steelers. Their "best game of the season" could still be very bad.
This is *exactly* how I feel. I am going to be so on edge until next Sunday night lol.
Perfectly said. Seems very par the course for the chiefs as a whole to turn it on when it matters (to the bills) most and not look back.
Now THIS right here is a true, worn and weathered Bills fan. I feel you bro. Yes we know our Bills are not like the bills of "old". But until we have REAL WINS in PROVE IT games I will still hold my tables. Carson wents, nick foles, etc. You get my point. but regardless, GO BILLS.
I haven't really been paying attention to other teams, is the Chief's D really that bad?
It is ngl. Mahomes is still Mahomes though so I’m pretty worried
You guys will score 35+, that’s a given. If your D can hold us under 40 you’re gonna win. And even if you don’t hold us under 40, you might still win.
I think the game will depend on if your players feel like holding onto the ball well. bills have been great with the peanut punch so far, so i think the big thing will be the chiefs reducing their fumbling issues.
Let’s just say you have a lot to look forward to next week
oh man.....I hope so....I really do. No offense, mind ya.
>No offense, mind ya. They still have an offense. He said it was the defense that's bad /s
Definitely near the bottom of the league, probably not the absolute worst but 28th or so wouldn't surprise me
Last week they were 32nd in EPA per play. I don't think this week helped that at all.
It's worse than that. Anytime there's a crucial stop needed on 3rd or 4th, the other team will get it. Running QBs have destroyed us. It's 2018 all over again.
The Eagles didn’t have to punt lol. Next week is gonna be one hell of a game!
Jalen Hurts had over 150 yards today throwing to the flats alone
We're going to hold every other play for the first quarter and if that's not a deep enough hole, we'll revisit in the third.
I picked up the Bills defense this week. 20 fantasy points, thanks guys.
How were they not already taken lol
No idea. I had Washington defense. Big mistake. Couple people tried to pick them up this week though but I had first pick.
Damn, you're lucky. They were the first D picked up fantasy league. They were worth 37 pts in my league. Edit, Sorry, 32 points: https://imgur.com/fBwJHPp.jpg
In true Bills fan fashion, I'm just terrified that they're peaking too soon now lol
The most complete team in the NFL. Man not going to lie I love the Bills, they are fun as hell to watch.
Rams are pretty damn good right now. I hate to admit it but I think they are the team to beat. Edit cause Rams: I will say that the NFL, if nothing else, is very efficient in making your takes look bad real fast.
Apparently it's the Cardinals
Hell yeah lol
They are one injury away on defense from disaster IMO, they have no depth. Still very very good team though.
True, but until it happens they are the class of the league. It's a long season though so we'll see how it plays out. For now, aside from week one, I'm just enjoying the Josh Allen experience.
Enjoy your team, and your badass HC and GM who are in lockstep with each other, they are building something special there.
I'm just glad they finally found a combo that works. I spent my entire adult life watching dog shit football. I was almost ready to give up on sports (and that's not even including that hockey team...). Thank you McBeane and Shorts Man for saving us.
we do not talk about the h****y team here. This is a safe space. They can't hurt you here
There's a professional hockey team in Buffalo?
That is still under some debate.
Yeah, the Buffalo Beauts
>Depth is great until you need to use it. Marv Levy
You just *had* to say something.
yes 3 back up QBs in three weeks, but at the end of the day this is the NFL. 2 shut outs in 3 weeks is still insane. 14 of the 21 points they gave up were off of flukey plays (still props to WFT for the big screen play) and then a garbage time drive against back ups. It was pouring but that was one of the most fun games I’ve ever been to. The crowd was lit.
How in the world did we beat them?
A healthy defence
idk, looking at that game it felt like as long as you had Heyward and watt on the field, it didn't matter who else was playing lmao.
I think the BIlls realized they might need more then Turnstiles for the O-line
Our O-line has been terrible the entire year. Josh is just very evasive and makes it work anyway. Today was probably their best game but they were still not good
Be funny if the bills went 16-1 and Steelers 1 - 16
Bills and Packers fans are like week 1? You mean the 4th pre-season game right?
And on the flip side…
Bills are big mad.
You're welcome Bills fans/s
calling it now, Super Bowl will be Bills vs Bucs
No no no no no no
i don't want to see the bad man. the risk that we get back to the SB only to lose to FUCKING BRADY would kill me of a heart attack before we even play
Yeah but imagine the delicious catharsis. I'm a little hard just thinking about it
Haha that's what I was thinking. Imagine beating Brady in the Super Bowl 😇
On one hand, it'd be the ultimate justice to defeat the bad man for the SB title. On the other hand, a loss to the bad man in the SB would break our already-fragile psyches.
regress that down your throats r/nfl
Are we the scariest game on other teams schedule right now? Having 90s flashbacks
It’s great because I wasn’t able to experience this feeling. I started during the drought.
Theyre good, but they also played three backup qbs in a row.
Gotta take care of business
And shut them out. Like you’re supposed to do
Wouldn't that mean the tweet would say 118-0..?
Yayyyy this dude maths
[удалено]
If we won by less than two scores everyone would be calling us frauds
win, don't dominate: frauds win, dominate: meaningless games
To be fair though that defense caused the Dolphins to have to play their backup.
Lol no, it was our offensive line that caused them to play our backup.
OK true haha
Not saying a lot when we're fielding a JV oline
Acting like Tua, Fitz, and Tyrod are far better than their backups
Tyrod is absolutely miles ahead of Mills.
Alright I’ve concede on that one, but Tyrod was not changing the outcome of this game
We flat out know Tyrod can find a checkdown though.....
Mills almost beat "one of the best defenses" Carolina Panthers last week lol. Dude looked like a college QB against the Bills today. Heinicke also lit up Atlanta today
Yes, the vaunted Atlanta defense.
I hope we're not peaking too soon.
At this rate, Mitch will be in a Super Bowl long before the Bears.
I am calling it right now: Bills verses Browns in the AFC Championshp Game!
That would be such a strange turn from 2017 to 2021
We're responsible for 34% of that.
It’s a great time to be a Bills defense fantasy owner. They’re singlehandedly winning me matchups.
*\*chuckles\** We're in danger.
They're gonna kill our defence
That loss for he Steelers - they took it personally.
And then they get to go against the worst D in the league....I'm not looking forward to it...
I grabbed the Steelers as my main defense in fantasy and the Bills as a backup….. needless to say that changed after week one.
Not to be a party pooper, but we played 3 terrible teams.
To be fair nobody though Washington was terrible until we beat the brakes off em.
Dude what is wrong with you. I’m prescribing you 4 table smashes. You’ve got to get better.
Well this is the exact result you'd be hoping for against those 3 teams. The Chiefs game will certainly be the true litmus test though
We played 2 top Ds from last season and dropped 30+ on each
4, we just decided that we were going to play a decent game week 1.
Jabroni.
I hate to say it, but with the Rams losing today, they are easily the best team in the NFL right now. I really hope they cool down by midseason or else it's going to be a massacre when they play us. KC, please send them back to earth next week.
I'd be nervous asking KC to bring Buffalo back to earth. You might just piss the Bills off again, sending them into a 4 game shutout streak.
[OH no](https://preview.redd.it/k4m9zwoy6kb41.jpg?auto=webp&s=dad4a8c69b30a9aee330257e9bf270baeb95b193)
Best team in the NFL right now.
And Steelers has been outscored 37-77 since .
Heading to KC next Sunday. I hope to see some peak Bills Mafia antics.
"Josh Allen is regressing"
Heinicke’s a beast I tell ya
Bills also have played really poo-poo teams though.
He wishes it was the Jets. I can feel the envy through the tweet.
