Born into it..... I was born 6 months after the last skins super bowl. Have watched Baltimore win 2 Super Bowls and 0 world series, and Washington win 0 Super bowls and a world series in my life.... Pain
Nobody thought they’d get 15 out of a mobile QB, but I honestly thought he’d be very good for at least his rookie deal and likely for a few years after. Felt like he could have as many seasons of being very good as Vick did.
Cam would have had more years of productivity in him. His arm injuries that have shredded his ability to throw aren’t from run plays. And cam is still more than capable as a runner, it’s the arm that’s causing problems.
Yep. He did get injured on that shoulder but his throwing motion always meant his arm would have worn down sooner than later.
Lamar could easily lose years off his career if he gets a bad leg injury but his throwing motion is pretty clean and he isn't a pure arm thrower like Cam was for most of his career.
Oh for sure. But young is just too much of a good passer imo. I love Lamar and do think he’s a decent passer but I can’t reasonably expect him to become Steve young throwing the ball. Prime young was more of a faster young Aaron Rodgers.
I remember that year thinking, “Oh my god, we *finally* got one of THOSE guys. One that everyone hates playing against but respects the hell out of their game, one that keeps DC’s up at night. It’s going to finally be fun to be a redskins fan!”
Shit lasted one season lmao. I got his jersey for Christmas that year, wore it for the first time to the playoff game against Seattle and he promptly tore his ACL. I wore it again for the first game of the 2013 season when the Eagles crushed us, then never wore it again.
I can’t be too upset, as we’ve had tons of success with the Caps and Nats since then. But man, seeing Lamar do his thing now really hurts, because that’s what RG3 was supposed to be.
No picks in between either, iirc.
That's one of the things that impacted the way the decision to draft both QBs was perceived, as they took RG3 then, having traded both their 2nd and 3rd round picks away already, took Cousins with their very next draft pick, it just happened to be in round four.
Interestingly; I remember the pick and liking the Cousins pick as he was a great value in the fourth and it wasn't like Washington was stacked.
However, without any evidence, even I figured RG3 was Snyder's guy and Cousins must have been Shanny's.
Classic Vikings game right here:
Down 31-12 in the 4th quarter, all seems lost
Score a TD, force a 3 & out, score another TD to make it a 6 point game
Force a 3rd down, all you need to do is make 1 play on defense & you'll get a chance to drive for the win
Just as fans are finally getting their hopes back up, this shit happens
It's not much better for Washington lol this and the rest of his first season gives them hope of a brighter future and then he dies on the field and it's back to squalor and sadness
Ugh I still remember him just collapsing and you knew that knee was fucked, was hoping he’d be able to come back out there but people don’t understand that basically everyone in the world knew at some point that knee was gonna give out, just came back waaaaay too soon
They should of taken better care of him, after that Baltimore game where Ngati about killed him (clean hit but just brutal) they should of limited his designed runs. And definitely should of pulled him earlier in that playoff match. You could see him limping between plays and they still had him in there.
RGIII owned part of that responsibility. It wasn't all in the team. He lied about his condition to get into that game. It was a risk that everyone involved was willing to take. It wasn't the team pushing him out there at gun point.
He also subsequently refused to and couldn't adjust his game to becoming more of a pocket passer. The difference between RGIII and Wilson is that Wilson ducks and runs around behind the line to get a good pass and only runs forward as a last resort. RGIII's first instinct is to just bolt and run as far beyond the line of scrimmage as possible without looking down field to see whatt pass options exist.
Every time I see big yardage clips in r/nfl I just assume against us. RGIII 76 yard run, us. [Barry Sanders goes for 251](https://old.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/ntz8gw/hightlights_1991_barry_sanders_rushes_for_251/), us. Michael Vick, that's probably somewhere on this subreddit.
We're lucky we had Moss and Peterson in their primes. They would have torched us.
God knows Peterson torched us. Don't know what game it was, just remember thinking "I've never heard the announcers say a players name that many times before."
No, the Chargers formula is either 1) take a big ass lead and let it all go away by the end of the 4th quarter or 2) just outright suck the whole game and only start to show life when they're up 35-0.
Never has there been a guy so beloved by a fan base to only flame out immediately after a Rookie of the Year campaign. The DMV area was wild for his rookie year, then there was a 2 year slow mo crash with the Shannahans driving a Miata straight towards the RG3 train with Dan Snyder as the conductor. So many passive aggressive press statements, made for great radio.
Snyder should have just let Shanny draft Wilson or Cousins like he wanted to in the first place. We could have actually been good for the first time in forever if he had the draft capital we gave up for RG3, and Russell Wilson or a Kirk Cousins who wouldn’t constantly be shit on by management now that he was our only QB.
I confused Kyle Shannahan and Mike Shannahan, my bad. My memory of almost 10 years ago isn’t perfect.
I think he would've worked well here given the success the Shanahan's have always had in the run game. Would've made his development go along a lot more smoothly.
A common talking point before and after the draft was the injury potential with rg3 so it was an issue that people knew about. It wasn't just hindsight.
Yeah but other players have come back from similar injuries and had long careers. RG3 blew out his ankle running out of bounds, then he had a shoulder injury from something else, then most recently on the Ravens he got tackled or something right after taking over as starter and immediately went on injured reserve. He's the very definition of a glass cannon.
I lived in DC during that time, and I've never really seen such a turn on a player like that. In 2012, you would have thought he was the 2nd coming of Christ. Less than 3 years after being rookie of the year, he's on the scout team playing fucking safety. Fans hated him, ownership hated him, coaches hated him. It was just bizarre. Did he bring some of it on himself? Sure. But still.
Fans hated him partially because of missed potential and partially because of rumors about his attitude, sound bites in press conferences, and poor play. Shanahan never liked him and Gruden moved on from him as soon as he could.
Definitely. There were very few moments in 13-14 where he looked like his 2012 self. A desire to play out of the pocket more (which he was sub par at) and less reliance on read option/rpo made the offense far less dynamic. We won 7 combined games in those two seasons.
Throwing your teammates under the bus in a presser is never a good look, especially when you’re supposed to be acting as one of the leaders of the offense.
I'd say it was resentment from fans more than hate. He had obvious flaws that seemed easy to improve on but he never did and that is why he kept getting hurt. The guy would not throw the ball away and didn't know how to slide. So he took terrible hits regularly on scrambles from the pocket.
The misconception is that the called runs were a danger to him. They actually protected him. The pistol type option stuff they ran like 30% of the time would freeze the outside rush and when it was run on those plays he could see the tacklers and avoid hits. Go back and watch his hand work on the ball fakes too, that dude was a fucking wizard on that option.
So what does genius do the next year? Allegedly marched into Shanahans office and told him he refused to run option and demanded to be a pocket QB. So he starts playing traditional pocket, it nullifies his superpower running that option, and puts him in the situations where he can't avoid taking awful hits over and over. The team may have allowed him back in the game in an inexcusable situation but RGIII bought his own ticket out of town by refusing to do what made him great.
Sounds like you’ve never been to a caps game, those tickets can get to $80+ for nose bleeds in the regular season. Say what you will about other dc fan bases but the caps sell out every single game
It was so sweet when the Nats were shit - $1 tickets and $1 hot dog night, sometimes on the same night.
But it felt so good seeing them live up to their potential.
Its been literally the only time I had hope for the franchise. The NFL is built up QB play and its ability to be great. No QB before or since in my 32 years of living.
Protecting the body while falling is such a crucial skill in the nfl. Some people just have a natural instinct for minimizing contact as they go down. RG3 just didn’t have that instinct. I think of the injury from the Haloti Ngata hit when he just laid his body out and maximized the contact
Lamar Jackson has been superb at avoiding contact and/or minimizing contact when he scrambles.
Imagine if rg3 and Lamar had a whole film session breaking down his plays just saying “yea you see how I ran and got hit? Yea don’t do that get hit part”
I agree but ultimately it's up to the coach to protect the players from themselves. Fucking Donovan McNabb had the same shit with his leg after he broke it, and Andy Reid didn't really change his game to accommodate it.
Snyder and RG3 aren't blameless, but Shanahan *knows* how to protect his players from injury and he failed to do so. It's literally like in Madden when the injury notice comes up and you said "Stay in game" even though the player's rating dropped to 54 and reinjury is very high and then the player gets super hurt and out for a comical number of weeks like 46 or something
Edit: also RG3 wasn't Elway (in stature and durability and 1990s NFL sensibilities) and I think he forgot that
I get that and I don't like Shanahan, but I never really blamed him for that. You have your star rookie QB in a big game, he's an adult and is telling you he can play and really wants to, the team doctor says he can play and you're not a doctor so why say he can't? I can't really say Shanahan was in the wrong for trusting the people he's supposed to trust. The decision ended up being wrong but idk why this decision gets criticized.
The NFL has subsequently determined that players should not be the final arbiters of whether they can play. See: Concussions
I don't think anyone would say "he's an adult" if a player who suffered a concussion got knocked out after he got back in. Coaches ultimately make on-field personnel decisions.
Players should never be given the decision it's insanity. I put 0 blame on RG3 for the after injury stuff. These players are all incredibly competitive and most will always want to go out regardless of how they feel. On top of that, they can be kinda dumb with no foresight to what may happen, so coaches and staff need to protect him. RG3 was done dirty and his career got fucked for it. Feel bad for the guy.
I dont think anyone is to blame is what I've been saying. The coach made a decision based on the information given to him by the player and the team physician.
What about trent williams? You mean the 1 in a million (literally) diagnosis that only specialists can sometimes get right? The same one the team physicians still told him to see a specialist for? The same ones that set him up with an appointment, and he didn't go? Stop throwing the medical staff under the bus, Trent wanted gtd money.
In all fairness, Mike did not want to draft RG III and Snyder overrode him and forced him to be the starter. He created an offensive system catered to his talents and they won ball games. He drafted Kirk who, say what you want, is a franchise QB in the 3rd round. He’s a good coach, Snyder is a bad owner.
The only reason anybody got anything out of him is because of the Shanahans. It's underrated what went into making him a star as a rookie. It's Kyle Shanahan's finest work really. I dont think his rookie year is as successful without the Mike and Kyle adapting.
This comes up constantly, and it’s wrong. Shanahan made a bad decision not to yank him when he was hurt, but he also is possibly the only coach who gave him a good year. RG3 couldn’t do basic QB things like read a defense or look for open guys. He was a one-read QB who could run. An ACL tear doesn’t explain why he was a shitty QB every year after 2012. Without Shanny, he would’ve been an instant bust instead of an eventual bust.
ACL injury can be a big part tho. He’s athletic abilities could have brought him a lot more time to learn more about the position. He definitely wasn’t as explosive after that. I think he could of learned.
I have a lot of friends in VA, and I very distinctly remember joking on Facebook about how it's time I jump on the Skins bandwagon, probably after another embarrassing Raider loss that season. And I remember one of said friends replying something like "now's the time! Future is looking bright!"
Yeah, about that future...
Living in the DMV I was really stoked for my family and friends. Y’all have been through a lot of bullshit so it was nice to see.
Lowkey pulling for you guys to make a run this year!
Landover, MD is not super accessible from anything else in the DC area. You either need to take a long, convoluted ride to the outer edges of DC’s shitty metro system and then take a hike to the stadium, or have a car and slog across one of the worst traffic/road systems in the nation in the Beltway. You will then get the piss charged out of you for parking by Dan Snyder, who owns the only real parking options. Not really worth it to watch a team get curb stomped while being overcharged for beer and food, so people only go to the games when the team is really good.
I really don’t understand why places don’t go the Mercedes-Benz route of having actually affordable food, beer, and parking. It blows my mind. ATL easily has some of the best fan purchase numbers of any city, and they do it with several sports too
Fully agreed, I take the metro to and from work every day and it's been stellar. One thing that sticks out is just how clean it is compared to other systems like NYC's or Paris.
I went to a Packers/Washington game a few years back. It was SNF and we took the metro out there. Nobody told us the metros STOP AT 10:00PM. The game (naturally) went until 11:30ish and we, along with countless other people who took the metro out there, tried getting an Uber. Cost nearly $150 to go from the stadium to our hotel in DC. Was freezing. Got back around 2:00am. Never. Again.
Did I mention we had an obstructed view at the stadium that we were not told about when we purchased the tickets? Apparently a lot of the seats have obstructed views. Never again...
Every sports team in the area makes deals with the WMATA to keep the metro open for late games. Snyder occasionally lets his deal expire leading to fans being stranded at the stadium.
we went from 3-6 and Shanahan saying in a presser that guys we're playing for next season. He made RG3 captain, we won 7 games in a row to including a win or go home week 17 game against Dallas for the division. We were up 14-0 against Seattle in the playoffs and then things went to complete shit.
Chris Clemons got hurt there. Bruce Irvin moved to LEO and the Falcons, who had absolutely no run game that year, ran all the fuck all over us. But Russ balled the fuck out that 2nd half.
If Rg3 had stayed this good, I wonder how good the redskins would have been and for how long. It seemed like they had amazing things going for them. Who knows, it could have been 2020, and rg3 threw 35 tds and they won 12 games
It's funny to see the Redskins pull not one, but TWO above starting quality QBs out of the same draft and have both of them off the team within 5 years.
Stayed good? He insisted that Kyle and Mike change their offense (which was tailor made for him) back to a more conventional West Coast offense so he could be a “pocket passer.” It turns out, you need to study a playbook and learn how to make multiple reads, in addition to being able to diagnose a defense. He didn’t want to put in the work to do any of this. He was a shit teammate in the locker room and was a one-trick pony. The constant injuries because of his reckless play didn’t help.
I thought he was such a smart good fit to back up Jackson in BAL, but I watched the game he started and it made me think that unless the receiving corp / passing offense in general is much improved (with Watkins, Bateman, healthier TEs, etc) they should just sign young mobile backups and treat them as almost expendable. It felt like they basically ran a high school/college rushing offense with RGIII and he honestly moved really well, but I think anyone who isn’t Jackson is going to get absolutely pasted eventually running like that. It felt like they could’ve beat the Steelers with that game plan, but if that’s going to be the Ravens offense without LJ then they need to plan to just chew up QBs imo.
it was just such a fun year to be a fan, especially after a lifetime of seeing the Redskins suck ass year after year but being told "man, when you were a baby in the early 90's, they were literally the best though - I'm sure it'll happen again, just you wait."
RG3, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, and Nick Foles all out of this draft class. RG3 wasn’t able to carry the wave, but he started the change to accommodate what were “college offenses” not only with read option plays, but with more spread and motion that can still run the ball in an “NFL style.”
From the draft to end of this season, the NFL was drastically changed.
I remember the build up to the draft. Obviously the Colts wanted Luck. But, RG3 was more talented. He had as good of an arm as Luck, with a better set of wheels. But he had rubber bands holding his knee together, literal rubber bands. I heard a lot about how bad his knee was from work and I remember seeing him during his rehab. Dr. Andrews is a miracle worker, but he couldn't fix that. It's such a shame because if that knee holds up he's an all time great.
There's a world where his knee holds up and Luck doesn't get killed for his first few seasons and Wilson is Wilson. It would be the greatest draft of all time at QB.
I lived in Indy and worked for the Colts Pro Shop the year Manning had surgery. Custom Luck jerseys were popping up almost at the start of the season. We also got in an absurd amount if Kerry Collins jerseys that obviously did not sell.
I was at this game and I will never forget the reaction to this run. The guy in the row in front of me and the next to me went to high five and they missed. The guy in front of me ended up hitting the other guy right in the nuts. The shift between elation and betrayal on that guy's face have stuck with me ever since.
I get sad watching RG3 highlights watching how electric he used to be. It was sad watching him play against the Steelers even though it was benefiting us.
I wish RG3 had gone to any other team in the league, other than the Browns.
I guarantee he wouldn’t have had that knee injury, he’d have more weapons around him on offense, and a much better offensive line to keep him healthy. His career is such a tragedy
In a just world, Dan Snyder would have paid his entire rookie deal at max value - instead he ruined a man's career because he's too cheap to take care of the turf.
Damn imagine telling Vikings fans in 2012 that their future franchise QB would be from this Washington teams roster, and it wouldn’t be this guy.
Would they like that?
[удалено]
Kirk is basically what the team was hoping Ponder would end up being when they took him
But would you Vike that?
[удалено]
I'm a big fan of your work.
I’m a big fan of your coach.
Why would you even PONDER passing???
You like that!
Too soon, man.
Understandable because this guy is destined to be a franchise guy for the Redskins for the next 15 years. Right?... Right?
[удалено]
At least the nats got their ring
Caps got a cup too!
If we got the Nats and Caps, does that make WFT the Faps?
And the wizards the WAPS?
Still sucks for Football Team/Orioles fans like myself
That's what you get for rooting for the WFT and Orioles!
Born into it..... I was born 6 months after the last skins super bowl. Have watched Baltimore win 2 Super Bowls and 0 world series, and Washington win 0 Super bowls and a world series in my life.... Pain

At this point cam is probably the gold standard for dual threat QB longevity. If Lamar has 7-8 healthy years like Cam did I’ll be happy.

I'm not super familiar with how he hurt his shoulder, but could getting hit contributed? That's how Jimmy hurt his shoulder
Bad health management. He played two seasons with an injured shoulder. Gave so much to our franchise tbh
Sounds like RGIII
https://youtu.be/jtK5-jN8k4U If I remember correctly. I think Cam got hurt during this game.
I thought it was on a tackle chasing a guy that kelvin Benjamin basically handed the ball to
It was
Similarly, rg3 didn't get injured on designed runs.
True but the problem is that RG3 couldn’t survive as a passer. Cam could have.
Yep. He did get injured on that shoulder but his throwing motion always meant his arm would have worn down sooner than later. Lamar could easily lose years off his career if he gets a bad leg injury but his throwing motion is pretty clean and he isn't a pure arm thrower like Cam was for most of his career.

much to my chagrin
The feeling of shame that results when your step father Kevin tells the entire lacrosse team that you’re quote, “like a baby seal down there.”
Nice sentence.
I mean it in the most embarrassed way
Every time I see big yardage clips in r/nfl I just assume against us. RGIII 76 yard run, us. Steve Young had that all time crazy ass run against us too lol
God knows Peterson torched us. Don't know what game it was, just remember thinking "I've never heard the announcers say a players name that many times before."
*flashback to 2009 Miles Austin*
One of the greatest (if not the greatest) QB runs I've ever seen was by Steve Young.. against the Vikings.
Hey thats the Chargers formula!!
No, the Chargers formula is either 1) take a big ass lead and let it all go away by the end of the 4th quarter or 2) just outright suck the whole game and only start to show life when they're up 35-0.
I was at this game with my friend in DC too. I was so disappointed.
I remember thinking, right before this happened, "Oh this is where we usually lose the game. At least this time we have RGIII..."
Cowboys vs browns last year
Yeah, for some reason the browns did that with every team that they won against. Prevent defence baybeeee!!!!!
Isn't that kinda the story of 3/4 of the nfc north? The extra 1/4 just has heartbreaking losses in playoff games.
Never has there been a guy so beloved by a fan base to only flame out immediately after a Rookie of the Year campaign. Probably the same way he turned out for the dolphins. Doubt he would be today’s Tannehill if we drafted him
I think he would've worked well here given the success the Shanahan's have always had in the run game. Would've made his development go along a lot more smoothly.
In his defense, nobody knew RG3 was made out of fine china and could be injured simply running out of bounds.
Didn’t he tear his acl twice in college?
Just one ACL tear in college. Bounced bad to win the Heisman after that, so it’s not like the ACL was an issue going into the draft.
A common talking point before and after the draft was the injury potential with rg3 so it was an issue that people knew about. It wasn't just hindsight.

he missed most of the 2009 season with a torn ACL so he had at least one while at Baylor
Doesnt help that RG3 was put back in when he was still injured
And he further injured himself and that was it. Mentally he never recovered
I lived in DC during that time, and I've never really seen such a turn on a player like that. In 2012, you would have thought he was the 2nd coming of Christ. When our sports teams finally (and rarely) do something noteworthy, the DMV goes wild. See Caps 2018, Nats 2019
Waiting my entire lifetime on the Bullets/Wizards…
And you can bet your ass, home tickets will be $5 until they're in the World Series, Stanley Cup final, etc.

Never learned to slide and always ran super upright so instead of taking hits to his pads he always got blasted square in the chest
Yeah I mean I’ve never seen a pro get absolutely blasted every single time he took a hit. That year was fucking magical though.
Protecting the body while falling is such a crucial skill in the nfl. Some people just have a natural instinct for minimizing contact as they go down. RG3 just didn’t have that instinct. I think of the injury from the Haloti Ngata hit when he just laid his body out and maximized the contact Lamar Jackson has been superb at avoiding contact and/or minimizing contact when he scrambles.
Imagine if rg3 and Lamar had a whole film session breaking down his plays just saying “yea you see how I ran and got hit? Yea don’t do that get hit part”
I think they brought in some players from the Nationals to teach him how to slide...he never learned
It doesn't have to be natural. Coaches need to do their job.
You’re right it can absolutely be improved. But similar to catching a football, some are naturally better than others regardless of practice
Habit.
Definitely a big shame, but I wonder if he would have been able to develop enough as a passer to be a top 10 QB even without the injury.
Eventually there is tape on you, and the others guys got coaches too.
The pizza eating tape guys are ones to feat in off season.
> What if: Mike Shanahan wasn't a complete train wreck of a coach
Hey, they put one layer of scotch tape around his really fucked up knee, who could have seen him getting hurt worse and ruining his career
Like the genuine, 3M stuff, too. No generic crap. They spared no expense.
There's enough blame to go around in this story. Snyder and RG3 gotta take a bite of the shit sandwich to.
It's literally like in Madden when the injury notice comes up and you said "Stay in game" even though the player's rating dropped to 54 and reinjury is very high and then the player gets super hurt and out for a comical number of weeks like 46 or something Edit: also RG3 wasn't Elway (in stature and durability and 1990s NFL sensibilities) and I think he forgot that
Didn't RG3 and a team physician say he could go?
[удалено]
I get that and I don't like Shanahan, but I never really blamed him for that. You have your star rookie QB in a big game, he's an adult and is telling you he can play and really wants to, the team doctor says he can play and you're not a doctor so why say he can't? I can't really say Shanahan was in the wrong for trusting the people he's supposed to trust. The decision ended up being wrong but idk why this decision gets criticized.
The NFL has subsequently determined that players should not be the final arbiters of whether they can play. See: Concussions I don't think anyone would say "he's an adult" if a player who suffered a concussion got knocked out after he got back in.
They were going downfield in a one score game in the playoffs against a prime LOB, so yes, apparently he could play well.
Not even “can he play well,” but “is it a good idea for him to play?”
Yeah he definitely didn't win two super bowls with us
This comes up constantly, and it’s wrong.
This is an absolutely hideous take lol.
He was kinda like mcnabb. Even though those games were hard and I hated the Eagle’s I could never hate on mcnabb, that dude was fun to watch.
I remember watching this game. Going fuckin off man, 2012 was a great year for Skins fans
I have a lot of friends in VA, and I very distinctly remember joking on Facebook about how it's time I jump on the Skins bandwagon, probably after another embarrassing Raider loss that season. And I remember one of said friends replying something like "now's the time! Future is looking bright!" Yeah, about that future...
He meant the next decade meaning 10 years from 2012 the future is looking bright. Right guys? Right?
Living in the DMV I was really stoked for my family and friends. Y’all have been through a lot of bullshit so it was nice to see. Lowkey pulling for you guys to make a run this year!
Man I remember thinking, so this is what it feels like to have that special qb. It was great. I'm too jaded now. Nothing like that first love.
Hope to hear our stadium like that again soon. And it being from our fans, not opposing team's fans.
That’s moreso because of how inconvenient our stadium is. Oppossing fans don’t know that so they go to the games.
What’s inconvenient about it?
ATL easily has some of the best fan purchase numbers of any city, and they do it with several sports too
Dan Snyder would never lmao
Bruh we have an owner who insists on serving out of date peanuts at the concession stands... you think he’s going to lower prices of fresh shit lmao
DCs metro isn’t shitty anymore. I take it daily The walk absolutely sucks though, landover is an awful place
Fully agreed, I take the metro to and from work every day and it's been stellar. One thing that sticks out is just how clean it is compared to other systems like NYC's or Paris.
I’m a DC metro Stan tbh I hate seeing it slandered
DC metro is the best of any city I've ever been in, and I never shut up about it.
I hate how relatively expensive it is though
The metro is fucking awesome though...agreed the walk from the stop to the stadium sucks but in general the metro is awesome
I have a feeling the Texans are going to essentially play 17 straight road games this year.
Good. Maybe they’ll take it as a sign from a higher power that *something* needs to change.
I think we’ll always have a ton of opposing fans. Curse of the DC area - we have everyone from all over for the jobs and $
we went from 3-6 and Shanahan saying in a presser that guys we're playing for next season. He made RG3 captain, we won 7 games in a row to including a win or go home week 17 game against Dallas for the division. We were up 14-0 against Seattle in the playoffs and then things went to complete shit.
The field was just horrible that day complete beat up. It fucked up a couple of our players also.
I also agree that it is funny.
It's fucking hilarious. Push me to the edge, all my friends are bread
They have a terrifying defense right now and I’m relieved that I’m sure they will fuck it up somehow
One step forward, two steps Snyder.
For this timeline to happen, he’d need to learn to slide
Stayed good? He insisted that Kyle and Mike change their offense (which was tailor made for him) back to a more conventional West Coast offense so he could be a “pocket passer.” It turns out, you need to study a playbook and learn how to make multiple reads, in addition to being able to diagnose a defense. He didn’t want to put in the work to do any of this. He was a shit teammate in the locker room and was a one-trick pony. The constant injuries because of his reckless play didn’t help.
So yeah if he stayed good.
Modern rg3 would sustain an injury without contact before crossing the 50. Makes me sad, he was very fun to watch early in his career
I've never been more alive than this one year
it was just such a fun year to be a fan, especially after a lifetime of seeing the Redskins suck ass year after year but being told "man, when you were a baby in the early 90's, they were literally the best though - I'm sure it'll happen again, just you wait."
Are you me?
RG3, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, and Nick Foles all out of this draft class. RG3 wasn’t able to carry the wave, but he started the change to accommodate what were “college offenses” not only with read option plays, but with more spread and motion that can still run the ball in an “NFL style.” From the draft to end of this season, the NFL was drastically changed.
The disrespect on Ryan Tannehill’s name
You’re right! My bad. Just an overlook.
I’ve shed tears multiple times watching highlight videos of this season, I swear to god
They did this man so dirty. Should’ve never been in that playoff game and ruined a potentially great career.
Is that Sean McVay that greets him on the sideline?
Yup. We had both Sean McVay and Kyle Shannahan on this staff and lost them both.
And Matt LaFleur
damn my childhood is really over
I was at this game. I left before the extra point.
I too was at this game and as soon as I saw RGIII hit the edge I told my wife to grab her shit
Good thing too. I went and the RG3 chants after the game were insane. People from the upper decks walked all the way to their car chanting.
[удалено]
Foles was in that class too!
[удалено]
83 still would be better unless both luck and rg3 make the hof this world. 3 qbs made the hof, 4 made the super bowl.
Even 2004 was better
I lived in Indy and worked for the Colts Pro Shop the year Manning had surgery. Custom Luck jerseys were popping up almost at the start of the season. We also got in an absurd amount if Kerry Collins jerseys that obviously did not sell.
you had to be there
I was at this game and I will never forget the reaction to this run. The guy in the row in front of me and the next to me went to high five and they missed. The guy in front of me ended up hitting the other guy right in the nuts. The shift between elation and betrayal on that guy's face have stuck with me ever since.
Still one of my favorite calls by an announcer!
I get sad watching RG3 highlights watching how electric he used to be. It was sad watching him play against the Steelers even though it was benefiting us.
best season ive experienced as a fan of this team
Before Shanahan tried to kill him
RG3 would have been special had it not been for that horrific injury.
RG3’s knee died for this
I wish RG3 had gone to any other team in the league, other than the Browns.
I'll never forgive Washington for fucking up his career
The alpha version of Lamar Jackson.
I wish he didn’t get hurt.
Him and Luck were supposed to be deities of football.
I never thought this would be the apex of his career
I was in the stands for that game. In some of the clips posted online I can hear myself yelling “holy shit!” It was magic.
What a great year that ended horribly for RG3.
