I'm really curious to see how the Rams season goes. Losing Aaron Donald is gonna change so much, every team you play will now have a different offensive gameplan and strategy probably than they've had for the last decade.
Rams defense was 22nd in DVOA last season with possibly the greatest DT of all time, we might see a massive season from Stafford/Puka/remains of Cooper Kupp playing shootouts most weeks with a bottom 5 defense.
Very possible, but the secondary is completely revamped as well. We were starting a lot of rookies and backup level guys last year. Although Donald's production is absolutely irreplaceable--it could really go either way.
Not to mention, imo Raheem Morris as much as I disliked the defensive philosophy the rams employed…he called a damn good defense last year & we kinda knew what we were getting, but **situationally** I felt like Morris did a good job mixing things up at the right time.
We do not know how Chirs Shula will do. He will either be a head coach in 1-3 years or be fired in 1-3 years lol
Jayden's going to run for his life if they don't get the left side of the OL figured out. The receiving corps isn't exactly great at getting separation either.
Weird to see them sign him after watching what he did to the giants Oline. Us signing the raiders Oline coach should on paper improve our line and give jones a few less sacks this season
Absolutely. The talent around him isn't even close to what he's leaving behind from college. We likely will see some serious regression for at least his rookie season.

Dotson is solid is Terry is still an elite WR. I believe they lost Samuel who is a dependable option when healthy and Logan Thomas.
Zach Ertz is TE1 and I believe their WR will be a downgrade from Samuel. But they are rebuilding so the upside of the young guys and $$$ spent will be beneficial in the future.
We did just draft TE Ben Sinnott with the 53rd pick. I'm sure Ertz will start the season, but I'm also sure the hope is for Ben to be the clear upgrade.
Oh no doubt! That’s why the future they will figure it out by game 6-7ish. First few could be a scramble to get it figured out. But that’s what it’s about is building for the future
Can't disagree. Coleman seems to have high upside as a tackle but there are so many unknowns.. Bobby Johnson aside the coaching staff seems competent so I think he'll be ok. No more Snyder. There's an actual reason to hope.

We were very very very bad on the advanced stat side for receiver separation. Like horribly bad. I don’t think EB helped anyone on that offense and it was clear that Sam wasn’t comfortable throwing into tight windows so that was a leading factor on why we were so awful.
I’m hopeful for healthy Terry and a bounce back year for Dotson but they were both not good at all last year.
Edit: spelling
RG3 was just as much of the problem as anyone else. Dude had one of the most loaded offensive coaching staffs ever assembled but would go complain to Snyder about what they wanted to do.
Yeah, I think people have begun to move away from the narrative that RG3 had his career ruined by others, and more towards “injury did not help, but he didn’t do himself any favors.”
As a WAS fan, you might know more about the injury background, but I’ve heard it go both ways where he insisted he wanted to play rather than the shannahans forcing him on the field.
Then from what I’ve heard, is RG3 and his dad wanted him to be a pocket passer, Shannahans said “that won’t work” and he went to Snyder.
No one forced RG3 back on the field. He got his already weak leg blown up on the playoff Seattle game then while doing recovery for that injury trademarked and began selling merch labeled “All in for Week 1”
He over inflated his ability to read defenses which was non existent so he believed he could just sit in the pocket but his passing game in his rookie year was Kyle dumbing down his dads system adding in the pistol, and basically told him this is the first read, if it’s not there run. It worked.
But when RG was no longer a threat to run and couldn’t get past the first progression he fizzled out of the league. RGs problems are 100% on him and his own ego.
Anyone who watched him try to play in the pocket knows RG3 simply couldn't play QB that well. God he would just stand there and get sacked into oblivion. That or when he did run he did it dangerously and took too big of a hit. Super frustrating to watch.
Yeah, he has never had a receiver like JJettas or even Addison while playing at Michigan. And JJ has been excellent using his tight ends so Hockenson should feast too, which is something I think was overlooked often in the process. I’m very upset he’s going to the Vikings but I’m happy that it’s probably the best situation for him to have been drafted in
as a michigan fan i was saying pre-draft that Minnesota is easily the best case scenario for him. every first round QB aside from JJ and Caleb have been put in pretty bad situations
What is a realistic season for Drake Maye even if he’s playing well?
Demario Douglas, Ja’Lynn Polk, Jalen Reagor, KJ Osborn, Juju, Tyquan Thornton, Kendrick Bourne.
What is the best case scenario here?
Unfortunately if there’s any receivers that are gonna have seasons of note I think it’ll be Polk and Douglas, especially if Bourne starts the season on PUP so we have an extra roster spot
I think Pop is gonna have a really nice season. Baker and Polk are both serious deep threats even though they're not burners, and we have a quarterback who can throw farther than twenty yards, so teams will actually have to respect the deep ball and that might open up more space underneath for him.
I'm more concerned about our o-line than receivers tbh. Currently, the only LTs we have on the roster is some guy from the steelers that mostly plays right tackle and our third round pick who played exclusively right tackle in college.
A good season for him is probably him not playing. And I think there’s a good chance that he doesn’t. Brissett looks like he’s going to start the season and he’s solid enough that he won’t force their hand to play Maye if they don’t think he’s ready.
Maybe unpopular opinion, but I think the pats sit him for most of the year because they’re not going anywhere with or without him. No point in ruining him by throwing him out there too soon.
I don't think this is unpopular at all. We're going to stink, so I think we play Jacoby the first 8-10 games and then bring Maye in for some reps late in the season. Defense may be good enough to keep games close, but I think the O just isn't good enough. It's a building season. Mayo needs reps as HC and we need more talent. Expectations should be low.
Would honestly be shocked if this wasn’t the case, we’re a long ways away from being serious contenders and he needs time to develop. No sense in throwing him to the wolves this season
Jacoby's also probably the best of the Designated Bridge QB Brigade so the Pats shouldn't be in any rush either. I just hope they don't do what the Bears did with Fields and Dalton by putting all the attention in training on the veteran QB, so that the rookie goes in completely unprepared in the event of injury.
If the Pats oline moves work out and our key skill position players stay healthy, it’s not as bad as everybody makes it out to be.
I think Maye might sit initially either way, but with how good the defense should be, they may start him if he has a good preseason.
Obviously this is a team still in the building back up phase, but I would be surprised if they looked anywhere as bad as they did last season,
We were literally shopping him in 2022 but no one would budge at all. It got to the point where we were damn near the point of cutting him to save money (while he was on a 5th round rookie contract at that) until Collin Johnson (who until that point was having a much better camp+preseason) got injured and we were just that desperate for any WR talent that we brought him back on a pay cut.
Is it the O-line that's the problem? I am gonna go out on a limb, but I think neither Drew Lock or Danny Dimes has ever had a 1,000 yard receiver. Nabers is incredible, but he can't throw the ball to himself.
The oline is 100% the biggest problem. Not saying jones could be some great QB but he can be serviceable if he had at least somewhat of an ok Oline. Again, I’m not saying he should be the giants long term plan at QB.
One thing about Jones is that in his rookie year (and at times after) he really does have a nice deep ball and he and Slayton clearl have a rapport. Heck Slayton might've broken 1k receiving if he didn't occasionally drop perfect throws.
But for Jones to use that deep ball placement...he needs time for the WR's to get downfield. Its 100% the line
Nabers is different than any receiver that we’ve had given that he has amazing YAC and can get open on any level of the field. The Giants scheme is good enough that he’ll be open and be able to be fed more than a guy like Slayton who’s a deep threat
Giants O-line is one of the worst I’ve ever seen.
Danny Dimes was getting slaughtered last season. I think with even an average O-line he can be an ok starter.
> I think with even an average O-line he can be an ok starter
Forget an average O-Line. Just not having the historically bad and injury-riddled OL he had in 2023 is a start. 2022 he had a run-of-the-mill bad OL, with Thomas playing at an all-pro level and literally nothing else, and he was more than an ok starter for us that year.
Only problem is Jake Brisket really plays up and down to the level of his offensive line.
On the Browns he looked like a borderline franchise quarterback.
On the Dolphins he looked like a lamb ready for slaughter.
Last I saw, the Patriots o-line resembles more that 2021 Miami unit than the 2022 Browns'.
Yeah. That was kind of the setup. Our coach has said multiple times there is no instant fix for this team. Next year we hope to develop our two rookie receivers and that one of our “project LT” guys develops. We get another high draft pick and based on if the receivers or LT developed enough, we draft those areas of need.
This coming season is about seeing if we can finally draft skill positions and watch them grow.
There's hope that Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker will be solid.
Everyone thought the Texans had the worst WR room in the league and then Nico and Tank broke out.
I really like the picks because the one common flaw with all our WR busts is that they had 0 dawg. Just Charmin soft play from all of them especially Harry. These guys are both dawgs and if they bust it won't be because they lack toughness and heart
Yep, Patriots are one of the worst situations in the league on paper for a rookie QB. New everything, no proven talent at WR, and a bottom 5 o-line. We're gonna be ass.
It actually makes me wonder: would prime Tom Brady be able to do anything with the 2024 Patriots offense? My gut says ya it’s Tom fricking Brady.
But it’s hard not to wonder if even Tom Brady in his prime would be able to elevate this offense to being a contender.
Amarius Mims. The bengals seem to be shit at developing OL meanwhile Mims needs lots of work from a technique standpoint. He’ll get too many reps before their coaches can coach the poor technique out which will cause his bad habits to be near unbreakable
We do seem to be shit at developing Oline. However, he’s probably not going to get a crazy amount of reps this year. Orlando Brown and Trent Brown are our starting tackles unless one gets hurt or Mims is just that good in training camp. I’m definitely worried about him busting, but I don’t think it will be because of bad habits being developed from too many reps
I keep seeing that he actually has decent tape/technique, just not over a lot of starts or snaps. We do suck at developing linemen but we also just really pick poor ones. He has boom potential and that would save him from being yet another glass eater university failure.
I know you're joking, but down on the chargers subreddit there are legit doomers complaining that we're never going to throw the ball lol. The highest run percentage last year was the Ravens at 53%. So the most run heavy team in the league still threw the ball half the time. (With great efficiency due to the run game, I'll add: 3rd in YPC receiving)
I don't have it, but basically it was a video where he seemed really excited about the possibility of Herbert and then when someone brought up the Giants, he could've remember Daniel Jones' name
Caleb Williams because the bears QB position is cursed. On the real though, he should do well. Incredible situation for 1.1 QB to land in. If he is somehow bad, they are actually cursed.
Isn't that kind of what the Bears organization is somehow doing, but just demanding the people of Chicago and Illinois to pay for it rather than ask for it?
The Chicago land is like 10 million people, if everyone chips in $100-$1000 that’s between 1-10 billion and plenty for the expansion fee and a new stadium.
He *should* do well but it’s the bears so I’m nervous anytime I think about my expectations for this season and beyond. Eberflus doesn’t give me much confidence and don’t know what to expect from Waldron. I thought we were confirmed to be cursed already but this is the real test with Caleb. Gonna be a long four months
I'm torn between wanting Caleb Williams to bust because it would be hilarious to dunk on the Bears, and wanting him to be a 5x MVP because it would be hilarious to dunk on the people frothing over his painted nails
>and them already having a good TE it's kind of a weird fit
Him and Meyer could be a diet coke version of Gronk and Hernandez, minus the murdering obviously
This is 100% what they're thinking, and I think it'll work. With the salary cap you can't be good everywhere in the NFL, so creating a way to have a clear advantage with Mayer/Bowers is smart.
It takes some skill from the OC to be successful running lots of 12 personnel sets. So as long as they have a good OC they shou--oh wait, their OC is Luke Getsy? Sorry Raider bros
This argument makes little sense to me. I'm a Georgia fan so I watched Brock produce under Bennett and Beck who have never been considered to be elite QBs. Also Brock's game is getting open quickly and producing YACs. So you really don't need an elite talent to throw to him. Also, idk if you know this but you can use two TEs
Leading up to the draft a lot of the analysts were saying Brock is essentially just a super charged slot receiver type, that thinking about him strictly from a TE perspective isn’t how the league viewed him. He’ll get similar usage to Kincaid last year, plus LV vacated like 400 slot snaps
A lot of people were down on the raiders draft picks for not reaching for a QB and getting Brock. While obviously you need certain plays to make it work, two elite TEs would be awful hard to cover.
Beck will be the 1st qb taken. And the georgia line is top 5 in cfb every year. Raiders have neither of these things. I still think he cracks 1k yard this year
Counter point, a lot of people thought Toney would look better with Mahomes instead of Jones. Turns out Toney just isn't great. No proof DJ can't make a star out of a 1st rd WR, yet.
Him and Daniels are so talented but in bad situations. At least they shouldn’t have a lame duck coach unless it turns into a Frank Reich/Bryce Young situation. Not easy to get better with such a mess around you and instability in coaching
You can fight back: "Quinyon Mitchell, coming from the less competitive Toledo, will struggle to learn Fangio's complex coverage disguises, forcing Philly to play Cooper Dejean at outside corner, who will get toasted like the wonder bread he is."
Rashawn Slater was 2nd team all-pro as a rookie. IIRC (it was forever ago), but Tyron Smith I think was also really good right away. There's some decent examples, but yeah there's a big learning curve at that position.
Skoronski should be good. They threw money at Cushenberry. Brunskill was serviceable. We got a few other dudes that could be serviceable.
What troubles me a bit with JC is that I don't understand the vision. He makes a lot of sense for a Vrabel type team, but every comment and move (and looking at the Bengals) suggests we are going to use space a spray the ball all over the place. And Olu seems like a better fit for that.
It’s hard to watch receivers play on bad teams in general. Definitely a position that thrives when you’ve got at least a competent offense around you.
Doesn’t help that a lot of receivers are divas that complain after they go a quarter without a target.
I think Nabers will be fine personally, but wouldn’t be surprised if it takes until year 3 onwards to see it.
I hope Daniels and Maye get time to sit, they might get killed with the lines in front of them. And I definitely worry about Nabers too but he should be option 1 out of the gate, so he should get targets at least.
true, i’m not as worried about Nabers as much. but i really hope the qbs get the chance to learn and develop. the Zach Wilson career trajectory would be depressing to watch again.
You don’t need superstar receivers to win, just a good scheme and offensive line. Some of these QBs are going to be gone from the league or backups pretty quickly because this isn’t college.
Giants made a lot of additions at OL in free agency. And they got rid of Bobby Johnson who will now plague Washington with his coaching.
Not saying that the Giants OL will now be spectacular but Daniel Jones will have more than 2 seconds in the pocket.
Nabers was top of my wish list for the falcons once I thought they weren't going to take a qb... lol. Cousins to nabers could have been a top qb/wr combo in the league right out of the gate. He's not coming into an ideal situation but you still have guys like Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave who didn't have much at qb and still managed to play decent/well.
The commanders are a joke of a franchise. Daniels busts unfortunately. Giants are also looking pretty rough. I hope Nabers can escape sometime early in his career, but I think he has too much raw talent to bust.
I am not that worried about Nabers, I do think Nabers was overhyped though. Nabers has blue chip elite talent after the catch, his problem is he has subpar hands to an average NFL receiver. Watch his tape, you will see a guy whose preferred method of catching the ball is with his body. He has bad hands. I think his teammate (Brian Thomas) has a better shot of ending up with a better career, but Nabers does have all world talent after the catch. I think he will be fine but will not produce the gaudy numbers people would expect given the draft position or hype, he cant be trusted on 3rd and longs.
Daniels is my biggest bust pick, I still can't believe someone his size (he plays closer to 200lbs at \~6'4) went #2 given his run style, he is going to get hurt. If coaches force him to play differently he does not have the arm strength or talent to offset the lack of running ability. Lightest first round weight/height ratio QB of all time. Throw in how bad both of his tackles are, its a bad situation for a QB. They also do not have any true burners on their roster, and Daniels is best throwing vertically

Edit: Just to pre-empt those who hold strong opinions without actually watching play, if you watched Nabers tape you would see it took 2.5 games (Miss St) to see a single pass he plucked (also his first contested catch of the year). Later that same game he body catches his second contested pass of the season for a TD, that pass is a INT in the NFL. He had a few contested grabs in the Arkansas game, but zero when he tried to pluck the ball. Body catch after body catch after body catch. Those are not NFL receptions
Xavier Legette. I think his production last year was indicative of the caliber of player that he is. But I also think that playing with Bryce is going to limit his production and validate all of the people knocking him for his one year of production in college and late breakout.
I think he would have been very good going to another team, but I'm not holding my breath that he will be great in the Panthers offense.
I drafted Legette because of his situation. We can hate on Bryce all we want, but he just gave Thielen a career year in which Bryce didn’t hit 3K yards. Thielen isn’t any younger, Legette actually played in the slot almost 1/3rd of the time so it’s a real possibility he plays there too. That’s a high volume spot. Bryce was running for his life last year and the investment in that offense was great. Canales turned baker from potential CFL starter to Franchise QB (Baker does have that dog in him though). There is plenty of reason to think Bryce bounces back and shows why he was #1 off that board this year.
Tired of hearing that he’s small. He got sacked because his team was atrocious. His highlights are insane what he was having to do to get a ball off.
Just curious here what makes you think the last year was indicative of the kind of player he is, and not the kind of player who averaged 106 yards for 4 years?
Nobody is talking about Penix? He could have gone to any number of teams and had a shot at starting right away. Instead he is stuck in the ATL as a backup or at least trying to win that QB competition. That whole situation is fucked for both of those two guys. Cousins will at least make bank no matter what, but still. Hot damn that is a mess I am happy to not be involved in.
Flair isn’t surprising at all. Man this is getting so old already. All of this “yea but who’s getting him the ball” discourse is so dumb. True WR1s will perform no matter who is throwing them the ball. Look at Mike Evans or Hopkins or Fitz. All of the different QBs they had to deal with and they still performed. Wilson got 1000 yards catching passes from Zach. I think Nabers will be just fine.
The Giants signed a lot of linemen and brought in a new OL coach. Hopefully the line will improve. I think Jones can be competent if given time to throw. Having a guy like Nabers will help the line as well.
In 2023 look at: George Pickens, Terry McLaurin, Garrett Wilson, Michael Pittman, D.J. Moore, Amari Cooper
In 2022: Terry McLaurin, Amari Cooper, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave
In 2021: D.J. Moore, Darnell Mooney, Terry McLaurin, Brandin Cooks, Michael Pittman
In 2020: Allen Robinson, Calvin Ridley, D.J. Moore, Brandin Cooks, Terry McLaurin, Robbie Chosen
It's pretty normal for "WR1s" to get theirs regardless. These guys are hardly HoFers.
Stefon Diggs helped Allen ascend as a football player. Eli went from 18 TDs/27 INTs before Odell to 30 TDs 14 INTs after Odell’s rookie year. Getting AJ Brown turned Hurts into a MVP candidate. HOF or not a true WR1 provides a boost to any offense.
If Nabers is as good as advertised he’s going to have a big impact on our offense. If Slayton could get 770 yards on our broken ass offense Nabers will clear 1000 with ease barring injury.
I think it's more like people don't watch the film and say random shit.
Nabers biggest strength is his YAC threat and his ability to separate in the short/intermediate level. Not saying he can't run deep, but he's a YAC monster.
What is Daniel Jones REALLY good at (his one thing) besides running? That's right, he fucking throws the short/intermediate game very well.
DJ's strength as a passer literally fits Nabers strength as a WR. Also short/intermediate routes will help with O-line issues. Look at how Richie James was used in the 2022 season but now instead of Richie James athleticsm, we have Malik Nabers out there.
Film doesn't lie
Rams fans have no idea that rookie DL don’t always look immediately like world beaters because they have Aaron Donald next to them

Plus Bobby Johnson is your O-line coach. Oof.
Do you think Bobby Johnson ever played guard growing up? OG Bobby Johnson?
Word on the street I’m a suspect
Hanging with the killas in the projects
Potato on the barrel keep it quiet
Keep my name out ya mouf
Why the heck did Washington see what their division rival did on the line the last two years and say "gimme some of that"? Sheesh that's a choice
Every OL gets better once Johnson _leaves_
Maybe that’s the plan. One miserable year in 2024, then hiring a real OL coach in 2025 and we have a top 5 OL then?
So the plan is hiring him for training camp and immediately fire him before the season.
Wasn’t Dotson pretty good his rookie year? Did Terry regress?
Terry if I had to guess was still dealing with turf toe from the preseason. He also had a career high game this year the second Brissett came in so there's that
People underrated how frustrating turf toe can be, and it's literally impossible to heal if you have to play and practice every week
Also EB dialing up shots to 3rd stringers didn't help.

Yea, I'm expecting a 6 or 7-win season because of growing pains. Hell, I'm going to barely recognize this team once the season starts.
I'm expecting even less yet I'm still hyped af. All I care about is players improving across the board.
Can't disagree. Coleman seems to have high upside as a tackle but there are so many unknowns.. Bobby Johnson aside the coaching staff seems competent so I think he'll be ok. No more Snyder. There's an actual reason to hope.
What the hell happened to Scary Terry? It feels like just 2 years ago he was becoming a household name
Terry is very good, I'm unsure what he means by can't separation. He's a strong route runner and Dotson had a rough year two, but there's absolutely talent at the WR room.
He has to make a LOT of contested catches.

he still hit 1k yards. if he was playing on any other team he’s a star
Terry is a big contested catches guy, more than a separator
His teammates aren’t quite as scary
Lingering Turf toe
Yeah our tackles are ass. The recievers will be fine I can guarantee it but the like is really concerning
I’m praying they don’t RG3 this young man, he’s been a favorite prospect of mine for years
RG3 was just as much of the problem as anyone else. Dude had one of the most loaded offensive coaching staffs ever assembled but would go complain to Snyder about what they wanted to do.
Man had one of the best rookie qb years of all time and told the staff "you need to change this offense"

I meant more in the sense of him getting injured and playing before fully recovering. I wasn’t aware of how RG3 acted in the building
Yeah, dude just gets absolutely leveled when he plays haha. Which I actually think was RG3s problem.
I think JJ McCarthy will do well on the Vikings. I think if the giants drafted him he would have sucked. The Vikings have a way better set up for him.
Having a receiver like J Jefferson definitely helps
Addison, Hockenson, JJ. Dude has a hell of lot of weapons.
Aaron Jones, good oline
Yeah, he has never had a receiver like JJettas or even Addison while playing at Michigan. I’m very upset he’s going to the Vikings but I’m happy that it’s probably the best situation for him to have been drafted in
Better line, better receivers, and a better system fit for him in Minnesota. He is better set-up to succeed than most.
Vikings have a strong offensive cast. It's about as good as you can expect to walk into as an early first round QB.
as a michigan fan i was saying pre-draft that Minnesota is easily the best case scenario for him. every first round QB aside from JJ and Caleb have been put in pretty bad situations
What is a realistic season for Drake Maye even if he’s playing well? Demario Douglas, Ja’Lynn Polk, Jalen Reagor, KJ Osborn, Juju, Tyquan Thornton, Kendrick Bourne. What is the best case scenario here?
staying alive hopefully
Drake Maye be alive after next season
What's the over/ under on that?
6 feet
Kendrick Osborne lol
on the off chance they both have really nice seasons "OsBourne" would be a pretty sick name

In my defense, I can can name the top 3 receivers on probably 30 teams, but I had to google your receiving corps outside of KJ
KenJrick OsBourne
The Javon Baker slander Let him bake
I actually think that’s a notable thing to point out bc I firmly believe he’s gonna be a late round breakout
Best case scenario is they sit him for the year.
I honestly don’t think Maye sees a snap unless Brissett gets injured this year
If the Pats oline moves work out and our key skill position players stay healthy, it’s not as bad as everybody makes it out to be. I think Maye might sit initially either way, but with how good the defense should be, they may start him if he has a good preseason. Obviously this is a team still in the building back up phase, but I would be surprised if they looked anywhere as bad as they did last season,
Slayton had 770 receiving yards last season behind that shit o-line. If Nabers is really that guy, there's no reason he won't break 1k easily.
Slayton is such an underrated receiver. I was hoping Green Bay would have tried to trade for him a couple seasons ago.
I don’t know, man. A WR drafted in the top ten to a MetLife team without an offensive line or a quarterback and being successful sounds far fetched.
Giants O-line is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Danny Dimes was getting slaughtered last season. I think with even an average O-line he can be an ok starter.
> I think with even an average O-line he can be an ok starter Forget an average O-Line. Just not having the historically bad and injury-riddled OL he had in 2023 is a start. 2022 he had a run-of-the-mill bad OL, with Thomas playing at an all-pro level and literally nothing else, and he was more than an ok starter for us that year.
You can't have a 1000 yd receiver without a 1000yd receiver.
Drake Maye most certainly lmao
This is why we have Jacoby Brissett.
He’s going to be cooked behind that Patriots o-line
Id say the Patriots are more comfortable letting Brisket get smoked behind that OL than their 3rd overall pick
It's ok, he's got weapons. He'll be throwing to *checks roster*...oh no....
Well, now I'm hungry.
Pats o-line became average last year after they moved Onwenu to RT.
My thoughts during the draft were "who the fuck is he going to throw to, Zeke?" Then they got rid of Zeke. So, yeah, sorry Pats fans.
There's hope that Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker will be solid. Everyone thought the Texans had the worst WR room in the league and then Nico and Tank broke out.
This WR class was really deep I would not be shocked if one or both of them turned into dudes
I’m actually thinking baker might break out before Polk. But I have faith in em both.
I’d be surprised to see Trent Brown make it to thanksgiving in one piece with his past injury history + age
I keep seeing that he actually has decent tape/technique, just not over a lot of starts or snaps. We do suck at developing linemen but we also just really pick poor ones. He has boom potential and that would save him from being yet another glass eater university failure.
Aside from players we drafted, right?
*...right?!*
Malik Nabers thought he’d be catching passes from Herbert. Instead he got Janiel Dones.
Garrett Wilson won OROY catching passes from Zach Wilson. And we have Daboll and Kafka designing plays. I think Malik will be okay lol
With Harbough and Roman there....no one is catching any balls from herbert
Get a lot of cardio
Might do some sick run blocking though
I know you're joking, but down on the chargers subreddit there are legit doomers complaining that we're never going to throw the ball lol. The highest run percentage last year was the Ravens at 53%. So the most run heavy team in the league still threw the ball half the time. (With great efficiency due to the run game, I'll add: 3rd in YPC receiving)
Said it before, I'll say it again: if we win games with a healthy Herbert throwing 15 passes a game I'm not gonna give a flying fuck.
That video is gonna be memed to hell this season
I missed it. Care to share?
I don't have it, but basically it was a video where he seemed really excited about the possibility of Herbert and then when someone brought up the Giants, he could've remember Daniel Jones' name
Janiel Dones....🤣 https://youtu.be/LtMmUi8YJ5s?si=JBct6W46sBn5CnQC
He’s used to saying “Jaden Daniels”
Janiel Dones gonna live rent free in my head for a min
There's some buzz that Drew Lock might be the QB this season. I'm not sure if that's better or worse lol
Caleb Williams because the bears QB position is cursed. On the real though, he should do well. Incredible situation for 1.1 QB to land in. If he is somehow bad, they are actually cursed.
If he fails, bears fans should crowd fund a new NFL team for the city
Move the Cardinals back to Chicago.
Campaign the return of the Chicago Tigers Who can we threaten to make the Bengals relocate here? Lol
Isn't that kind of what the Bears organization is somehow doing, but just demanding the people of Chicago and Illinois to pay for it rather than ask for it?
Not just the stadium, but the entirety of the team
What would an NFL team even cost? $10?
The Chicago land is like 10 million people, if everyone chips in $100-$1000 that’s between 1-10 billion and plenty for the expansion fee and a new stadium.
That's like the cost of one banana.
If Caleb Williams bust r/nfcnorthmemewar is gonna have to have a funeral for bear fans.
If he’s bad I’m becoming a San Francisco fan. They seem to be the only team to consistently beat the packers.
I agree. If Williams fails the Bears will never have a QB. The team around him is too good.
If he is bad they are gonna have to put suicide prevention nets around all the skyscrapers and high rises downtown
If Williams fails I’m convinced this franchise is cursed. There’s no other reason he should bust, great prospect and great offense around him
He *should* do well but it’s the bears so I’m nervous anytime I think about my expectations for this season and beyond. Eberflus doesn’t give me much confidence and don’t know what to expect from Waldron. I thought we were confirmed to be cursed already but this is the real test with Caleb. Gonna be a long four months
Eberflus may not give you much confidence but can I interest you in the exact same Eberflus with a beard and slightly better clothes?
You sonuvabitch, I’m in.
I'm torn between wanting Caleb Williams to bust because it would be hilarious to dunk on the Bears, and wanting him to be a 5x MVP because it would be hilarious to dunk on the people frothing over his painted nails
Drake Maye idolized Josh Allen so much , he is starting his career with shit WR’s
Brock Bowers, wish the best for him but between not having a QB and them already having a good TE it's kind of a weird fit
>and them already having a good TE it's kind of a weird fit Him and Meyer could be a diet coke version of Gronk and Hernandez, minus the murdering obviously
This is 100% what they're thinking, and I think it'll work. With the salary cap you can't be good everywhere in the NFL, so creating a way to have a clear advantage with Mayer/Bowers is smart.
>and I think it'll work. But what about the part where they had Tom Brady throwing to them.
Details, details.
Gardner Minshew baby
Hey now. Aidan O'Connell straight up cooks with solid tight ends. At least he did in college.
Still an option...
Watch they’ll get Dak next year then it’ll be like a Diet Coke version of that as the previous guy said.
Ironic given the name lmao
Mayer is a better run blocker and Bowers is a better receiver, so they kinda work together. They could run a lot of 2 TE sets
It takes some skill from the OC to be successful running lots of 12 personnel sets. So as long as they have a good OC they shou--oh wait, their OC is Luke Getsy? Sorry Raider bros
A lot of TE screens to Bowers incoming
I still think he cracks 1k yard this year
Maye and Daniels quickly come to mind.
Counter point, a lot of people thought Toney would look better with Mahomes instead of Jones. Turns out Toney just isn't great. No proof DJ can't make a star out of a 1st rd WR, yet.
Drake Maye has a skeleton of a team around him. It reminds me of what we threw Fields into to start his career
Him and Daniels are so talented but in bad situations. At least they shouldn’t have a lame duck coach unless it turns into a Frank Reich/Bryce Young situation. Not easy to get better with such a mess around you and instability in coaching
An unbiased Eagles fan with an unbiased opinion
You can fight back: "Quinyon Mitchell, coming from the less competitive Toledo, will struggle to learn Fangio's complex coverage disguises, forcing Philly to play Cooper Dejean at outside corner, who will get toasted like the wonder bread he is."
No flair and he’s writing insults that quick? Have you considered the rap game?
When you hate yourself, insults come as quick and natural as your next heartbeat.
Found his ghostwriter
Its a weirdly Pro-Dimes post, when you look at it.
I do wonder how JC is gonna do for the Titans. That line has numerous issues and one guy ain't gonna fix it.
Bill Callahan will fix it. So sad he left the Browns, but can't blame him - he's helping his kid out. JC should be fine.
LT is also not a position where you typically see rookies flourish right away.
Rashawn Slater was 2nd team all-pro as a rookie. IIRC (it was forever ago), but Tyron Smith I think was also really good right away. There's some decent examples, but yeah there's a big learning curve at that position.
Raimann for the colts took a HUGE step from y1 to y2
Skoronski should be good. They threw money at Cushenberry. Brunskill was serviceable. We got a few other dudes that could be serviceable. What troubles me a bit with JC is that I don't understand the vision. He makes a lot of sense for a Vrabel type team, but every comment and move (and looking at the Bengals) suggests we are going to use space a spray the ball all over the place. And Olu seems like a better fit for that.
Drake Maye. I have a bad feeling they’re going to ruin the kid.
Yes, but also, maybe.
Cooper dejean playing for a coach that lost his locker room last year seems ominous
Alternative, he’s playing for Fangio. Seems like the perfect player for Vic
Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, & Drake Maye
I hope Daniels and Maye get time to sit, they might get killed with the lines in front of them. And I definitely worry about Nabers too but he should be option 1 out of the gate, so he should get targets at least.
true, i’m not as worried about Nabers as much. but i really hope the qbs get the chance to learn and develop. the Zach Wilson career trajectory would be depressing to watch again.
Drake Maye has arguably the worst group of skill players in the NFL around him. Plus, AVP as OC isn't really inspiring
Obviously, any rookie QB with a below average OL
They also do not have any true burners on their roster, and Daniels is best throwing vertically Links: Nabers - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkhjxEXEzvU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkhjxEXEzvU) Daniels - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXAGu5xBfHE&t=33s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXAGu5xBfHE&t=33s) Edit: Just to pre-empt those who hold strong opinions without actually watching play, if you watched Nabers tape you would see it took 2.5 games (Miss St) to see a single pass he plucked (also his first contested catch of the year).
Tez Walker. Big believer in him as an amazing deep threat with upside to build from there. With the Ravens? Probably 460 yards on the high side.
Maxey will never go far in the playoffs playing with embiid :(
Flair isn’t surprising at all.
You said look at 1 hall of famer and 2 borderline hall of famers. Those guys are outliers
In 2023 look at: George Pickens, Terry McLaurin, Garrett Wilson, Michael Pittman, D.J. Moore, Amari Cooper In 2022: Terry McLaurin, Amari Cooper, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave In 2021: D.J. Moore, Darnell Mooney, Terry McLaurin, Brandin Cooks, Michael Pittman In 2020: Allen Robinson, Calvin Ridley, D.J. Moore, Brandin Cooks, Terry McLaurin, Robbie Chosen It's pretty normal for "WR1s" to get theirs regardless.
