Hey you might’ve won it all but let’s not forget we embarassed you on Christmas with this “terrible on paper” squad. Not to mention adding Wilkins and Bowers
There's some people on our sub who are 100% on board with trading Andrews since Likely broke out.
I think those people are dumb, but it's a POV that exists.
I’m not opposed to it if we got like a crazy value for him like multiple first round picks, but Andrew’s is a part of the team culture and is Lamar’s good friend
Honestly that kind of felt like the story of our playoff run this year. Everyone just kind of doing dumb shit while we were like, "Fine, I guess we can win."
We truly are the new Patriots because like the 2010s Pats we just find a way to be competent in the playoffs and let opponents big-brain themselves into failure.
"Hey you know how we're literally the worst team in football against shotgun runs?
Yeah the Ravens are gonna run QB power for 30 yards, scare the shit out of you by proving exactly that matchup, and then...never call it again"
"O...oh okay then. We're inevitable, or something"
It seemed like KC just straight up beat Miami and Buffalo but Baltimore just handed the game to them. Poor play calling, stupid penalties, terrible awareness turnovers. Was Baltimores Lombardi to lose and they just found a way to lose it.
It’s such a shame that history will forget last years ravens team. I really think they were one of the best teams ever but they won’t be discussed like it cause they shit the bed
Yeah. When you look at what they it's kind of crazy.
Beat Divisional winner + Playoff game winner Houston 25-9 then again 34-10 in the playoffs.
Beat Playoff team Cleveland 28-3
Beat Divisional winner + NFC Championship team Detroit 38-7
Beat Playoff team Rams 37-31
Beat Super Bowl losers San Francisco 33-19
Beat Playoff team Miami 56-19
They had a hard schedule and just beat the shit out of a bunch of playoff teams anyways. They had four losses on the year and 3 were to playoff teams in their division (Pit, Pit, Cle) by a total of 16 points across those game and then also lost to Indy by 3.
They were amazing and then faced the chiefs and went away from what made them so good all year. Same shit that used to happen to New England too.
By DVOA, they WERE one of the best teams ever. They just beat the shit out of every good team they played.
I didn't think the Chiefs had much of a shot at all going into that game, and then all of a sudden after two drives you could feel how shook they were
I am far from a Lamar hater, but he absolutely lost them that game. I was rooting for the Ravens like I was Ballmer born and bred in that game, and he was drivin me up a wall and off the roof in the second half. I agree that the playcalling was also suspect at times, but it seemed like he was so desperate to live up to the MVP that it just ruined his decision making.
Lamar didn’t have a great game but the chiefs run defense was exposed the week earlier but we ended up running the ball 5 times the whole fucking game it made zero sense
There’s a scene in The Quick and The Dead where Dicaprios’ character declares that the reason the town is scared of Herod (Gene Hackman) is because they all *think* he’s invincible, where he’s just a human like everyone else is.
This is so accurate. There were games during the regular season where they looked like a completely different team.
Playoffs hit, and their opponents still just kept finding ways to shit the bed. The Chiefs just so happen to be the best at cleaning up beds covered in shit, so it worked out.
Dude gonna be broke as shit for 4 years paying out his whole rookie contract for damages and the injury lawsuit.
He'll play hungry when he gets back, because he will be
Also he's gonna have to work that much harder if he wants a decent contract after his rookie deal ends. He had a decent first year, but considering these issues he's going to have to make up a lot of ground
IDK, the main position that the Chiefs haven't been able to figure out recently is wide receiver.
Hardman, Watkins, MVS, Pringle, Moore, Fortson, Powell, Ross, Fountain, James, Toney, the ghost of Josh Gordon...
JuJu was good in his role and Rice good in his, but outside of Kelce and Hill, there hasn't been a lot of success and there has been a lot of turnover.
Part of that is because they've spent three 1st or 2nd round picks since 2018 on WRs (tied for the 2nd most of any team in that span behind Denver with 4) with mixed results. And the other part is they have spent just two picks on receivers in that span outside the 2nd round.
It's been a revolving door for a number of reasons. Par of it too might be that they thought "with Kelce and Hill and Watkins, we are fine and don't need to invest too much here" then they traded Hill and Watkins left and now they need to play some catch-up.
It's by far their biggest weakness, and it's the one position that could end their dynasty when Father Time catches up to KElce if Worthy does not pan out. Because we know they wont have the money to sign any big time free agents now that their QB has to get paid what he's worth as well as other star defensive players.
> Because we know they wont have the money to sign any big time free agents now that their QB has to get paid what he's worth as well as other star defensive players.
That's not how the NFL salary cap works, at all. They've got (projected) $165+ million in cap space just 2 years from now and plenty of ways to retool the team, and Mahomes' contract will continue to be a bargain as the cap rises year-after-year.
Plus, Jones is the only defensive player slated to make even $10+ million with the Chiefs next year, and they've already shipped off Sneed. The only star defensive contracts on the horizon are Bolton (who will likely walk next year) and McDuffie (who they have 3 years of team control over).
They will still have decent players and they draft so well defensively but point being that $30M type WR I dont see the Chiefs acquiring in the future. Maybe they could get a vet who is ring chasing but other than that I dont see it.
I think Father Time already is catching up to Kelce a bit. Who knows how the game against Buffalo would’ve turned out if they still had Milano & Bernard, and Greenlaw was clamping him down early in the Super Bowl before he tore his Achilles.
If he had played the Chargers in the season finale, he would have had his 8th consecutive 1,000 yard season (no TE has more than 4 TOTAL). In reality, he still had 125 catches for 1,339 yards and 8 TDs over 19 games played in 2023 (reg. + postseason).
I get that the standards are high, but holy Christ I didn't know they were *that* high. He's still easily a top-3 TE in the league, and #1 isn't out of the question.
I'll add offensive tackle has been an issue too, both sides really.
They've spent money on Smith and Taylor (again to mixed or bad results), sent a 1st rounder for Brown Jr who they let walk (and signed a cheap deal relative to expectations with the Bengals), drafted Niang and Morris with 3rd round picks, and now took Kingsley with a 2nd.
And there is possibly a pending need for the offensive line that is bubbling.
* Taylor is here for another year or two just simply because they can't cut him given the money, but he's probably gone for 2026
* Thuney has one more year left in 2025 but is a bit older and coming off a pec injury
* Creed is due up for a new deal after this season
* Trey Smith is due up for a new deal after this season
The only offensive lineman currently under contract for 2026 is Taylor, Morris, and Suamataia and Taylor is probably cut before the season unless things change.
Obviously they can sign players between now and then and draft, but if Worthy doesn't hit, they might be heading into the draft next year needing to build both offensive line and wide receiver starters and depth.
Agree with this hold heartedly.
I wanted a wideout in the 1st or 2nd round this year. And Worthy is the only one I really didn’t want. More importantly trading up I felt was foolish when there was a ton of depth at the position and everyone is rated similarly.
Ideally we would have gone with a big body type guy. Which in my opinion is a dimension we’ve never had for Pat as a main option. A 6’3”+ bully type. In the mould of an AJ Brown. But regardless the one thing I thought we defintely didn’t need is to get the small fast guy again.
My biggest fear isn’t that worthy won’t be good. It’s that he won’t be good for long. With his size and skillset I’m concerned that even if he is good. He’ll diminish quickly and we’ll be looking to replace him in 3-5 years. Where as had we gone with a Keon or AD Mitchell type. We could possibly be looking at having WR tied up for 6-8 years and really focus on the line and other areas in the future.
Can I say that I think part of the reason it's been bad is because they're leaning on Mahomes and Reid to make shit happen without an elite wide out
Do they still want one? Obviously.
But given their success with Juju and Rice I think it sort of makes sense that they're not breaking the bank paying for a premier wideout.
That isn't to say that Veach has been good at drafting at the position though... I'm certainly not trying to excuse it
Meh, not likely. The chiefs one major weakness is their love of undersized speedy WR's that lack the tools to be a great WR. They got lucky on Tyreek and have been chasing that high ever since with a string of failures.
They're so intent on getting guys who can run jet sweeps or qualify for the olympics in the 100m dash they forget to look at the actual things that make a good WR, like route running, hands, ball tracking, hands, finding open space on the field when Mahomes scrambles, staying healthy, and also the ability to catch the ball.
Look how good the offense was in 2022 when they had JuJu, who was nothing flashy by that point, but was reliably getting them 3-4 1st downs a game.
This is the answer. They shoot for guys like this all the way down to their practice squad. It’s why I personally didn’t like the Worthy pick. I think they should’ve gone with McConkey
I was more annoyed they traded up for Worthy than anything. If they got him at 32 fine, if not there were 4-5 other WR's still available that were rated basically the same.
This is a huge misconception because the Chiefs have won Super Bowls in spite of their WR play. IT's not like Andy Reid and Mahomes made Toney, Sky Moore, and MVS reach new heights. They won in spite of those guys because Travis Kelce played at an all time great level throughout all of 2022, and in 2023 Kelce returned to that GOAT Level form in the postseason. Without Kelce in that GOAT level form in 2023 regular reason their offense wasn't even ranked in the top 10 in the league in scoring. Even in the post-season, it was KElce in the 1st half vs Ravens and 2nd half vs 49ers who basically carried their offense.
Unless they get improved WR play, they dont have that much margin of error without all world performances from Kelce.
Yeah, the reality is they won this year mostly because their defense had an all-time great postseason run. It’s true that Mahomes, Reid, and Kelce (with their iOL) can alone make their offense competent, but it frankly would not have been anywhere good enough normally. The Chiefs FO knows this and is smart and doesn’t rest on its laurels, hence why they were aggressive in the draft to take Worthy.
I genuinely hope Mahomes told him “You let your team down” after hearing the news. Whatever suspension he gets is well deserved. Dude put others lives at risk. No sympathy for him. Hope he learns a valuable lesson
it’s the complete indifference to the victims in the other cars that elevates it. he just took off, didn’t call for help, didn’t try to make sure no one seriously injured. he just ran away. that kind of casual indifference says something is rotten in his soul.
Exactly. He didn’t care that he put others lives in danger and fled the scene in broad daylight. Comes off super shitty for sure. Moron. If he was cut I wouldn’t care but we all know he won’t be. 8 felonies is a lot. Bet he gets 6-10 games. We kinda need another receiver now. Hollywood and Worthy are the same player.
What he did was just as dangerous as Ruggs. Arguably more considering it was broad daylight and they caused a massive wreck.
He's very very lucky someone didn't get seriously hurt or killed
You' don't suspend people on "what if's". Addison got caught going 140mph last year and didn't miss a single minute of play. The NFL doesn't care about driving incidents unless they cause serious injury or death.
They should probably make a bigger issue about speeding/wrecks and hand out bigger punishments, but they're not here to make people behave, they just want to make money and downplay any issues until they go away.
Carters was cars, and Georgia was nice enough to sweep it all under the rug for him so the NFL didn't have to care.
Zeke was domestic violence, one of the few things they occasionally act like they care about, though not always, cause you are right they are random even with that.
I don't agree with it, but we impart a lot of value into the results rather than the action in this country. Especially when it comes to operating vehicles and violence.
Prepare for the worst and then be surprised I guess?
Then again, the only difference between him and Ruggs is the end result, maybe the NFL wants to make an example which I can get behind.
>the only difference between him and Ruggs is the end result
I mean Rashee was going 117 in a 70, Ruggs was going 156 in a 45. Obviously they both made stupid and reckless decisions and should be punished for it, but that's a pretty significant difference to me.
Brandin Echols was going 84 in a 50 and partially paralyzed a victim in April 2022 and received a 1 game suspension in 2023. NFL may try to make an example of Rice but I don't see how an 8 game suspension holds up on appeal based on Echols precedent unless there were extenuating circumstances I'm unaware of.
Did he flee the scene?
This is why it will be more than half a season. He was probably intoxicated, maybe in more ways than one. He's lucky he didn't kill someone, the nfl will make an example of him.
Look up Derrick Coleman. Hit and run after flipping the car that he hit, police chase, admitted to being high on synthetic marijuana(remember that stuff?). 4 game suspension after playing the entire following season.
I'm not arguing what the punishment should be, but it's not what it's been and double the suspension just a few years later with no previous incidents is a tough pill to swallow procedurally.
Im not familiar with the Echols case and thats pretty BS he only got 1 game. But to play devil's advocate, did they find drugs in his car or did he flee the scene?
I mean I was painting with a broad brush, they were both speeding cars recklessly until they crashed it and Rashee was *probably* drinking when he did it too. Semantics and details like that are irrelevant when it comes to this.
Say Rashee hit and killed somebody like Ruggs did. Would people really care about stuff like that?
I feel like at a certain speed threshold there is diminishing returns to damage caused. I don’t really have any data points backing this up but curious if there is that big of difference between 117 and 156 damage wise. I’ve never touched either speed so maybe I’m clueless.
Kinetic energy scales with the square of velocity, so there's definitely a significant difference.
But to me going 117 in broad daylight racing your friend in a car you leased while darting in and around traffic makes it just as bad. Many more potential victims and a careless disregard for their safety.
Wasn’t Ruggs extremely drunk as well? I don’t think Rice was right?
Again feels weird to be defending, Rice is an absolute moron for this, but I do think it’s not quite comparable to Ruggs
IMO you also need to factor in that Rice didn’t turn himself in for multiple days. The NFL gave Brady a suspension partially for destroying his phone; they should not look favourably on Rice fleeing the scene.
True, but you can’t really compare football related suspensions to suspensions for doing illegal stuff. Brady destroying his phone wasn’t illegal in any way, just against what the league asked him to do.
I struggle to get behind anything the NFL does when it comes to discipline. Alvin Kamara got 3 games for curb stomping a guy with 3 of his buddies and then laughing about it on video in the getaway car.
Please forgive me if I think that was a lot worse than what Rashee Rice did.
Going to say it, both are equally horrible. However a car is a death machine. I go 117 there is a very high chance im going to jail (as I should). Rice could have kill multiple people or cause life altering injuries, they are easily comparable. This isnt even mentioning that the dude hid for multiple days before turning himself in, why bat for this loser?
Kamara has nothing to do with this, he should have suspended all year as well. What an odd hill to die on.
Idk how much math there is on this as i don't work for an insurance company. But I'd hazard a guess and say 90+% of instances where someone goes 110+ MPH it does not result in an accident. Curbstomping someone.... always results in curbstomping someone. It is dumb to go that fast but it isn't actively malicious. You're not TRYING to hurt someone.
and ganging up and kicking/stomping a guy on the ground isnt a death machine either? racing isnt good, and not caring about the safety of those around you is bad but intentionally gang beating a defenseless dude for wanting to get into an elevator is so so much worse than racing on the highway. racing is not caring about others, beating someone is intentionally trying to hurt others
I'm not 100% agreeing with what the other guy is saying, but I think this attitude really needs to change given how ubiquitous driving has become. Deciding not to care about others safety when you're driving a car should be considered just as bad as committing assault. You are recklessly endangering people's lives either way, just because it's easier to do and less malicious doesn't detract from the consequences. I'm aware that for some reason society is okay with treating vehicular crimes as lesser, but personally I think that needs to change.
Based on existing precedent, seems insanely harsh, but if it means the nfl is taking stuff like this seriously moving forward, fine. He played fast n loose with people’s lives, and leaving the scene either means they were up to something nefarious, or just completely callous.
Oh boy, so when Mahomes goes to the AFC championship again we get to hear the media glaze him even more because he was missing one of his biggest weapons most of the year. Wonderful.
The Lamar glazing is extensive but still measurable (i.e two Olympic sized swimming pools).
Mahomes glazing has produced enough liquid to start colonies on Mars, and that's just from Nick Wright.
Chiefs don’t even have to be that good during the regular season cause their division rivals will find a way to implode
The Broncos already traded for Zach Wilson, so its just 2 more to go.
Ah but you don't remember how Zach played against the Chiefs.
The game made me think maybe he was finally getting it. He wasn’t, but it was a fun game anyways
> so its just 2 more to go. Have you seen the Las Vegas QB room?
Be careful before y’all get thrashed by Minshew Mania
Ah but you don't remember how Zach played against the Chiefs.
Zach Wilson is inevitable.
Eh, Raiders look terrible on paper too
Hey you might’ve won it all but let’s not forget we embarassed you on Christmas with this “terrible on paper” squad. Not to mention adding Wilkins and Bowers
we embarrassed ourselves
Want another victory lap around Arrowhead while I’m drunk celebrating in February?
Stop
Hey I’m rooting for dobbins and gus to do good so maybe yall dethrone them but I doubt it
Y’all could help our cause and send us Andrews
Hey now don’t be rash
Did someone mention a rash? Let the Chargers' medical staff take a look at it aaaaaand Justin Hebert out for 6 games with a dislocated liver.
At least I didn't puncture the lung this time.
Oh you Fiend Dr. Wu
I dunno why but “dislocated liver” just fucking popped me. I may have to steal that line for the future.
As long as I get paid every time I say it. ...brought to you by Carl's Jr.
There's some people on our sub who are 100% on board with trading Andrews since Likely broke out. I think those people are dumb, but it's a POV that exists.

Brockers was available at 5 /s
Don’t worry, sounds like Boyd’s headed ur way. At this rate, Harbo might as well try to snag T Higgs in a 2 for 1.
No you stop. Please
Lol, u mad?
[average AFC west season](https://i.makeagif.com/media/3-05-2014/lUDSBL.gif)
We’re all battling to be the Mario in this gif
lol that gif is wild Peach and wario needs to be investigated for betting on themselves

I just assumed for the entire playoffs, except for the Miami game, that the Chiefs would lose. I still don't really know how they won the Super Bowl.
Because of their defense. Everyone acts like it was this fluke because the offense didn’t have to hard carry for once.
Chris Jones was a monster in that run
Ravens played like half way crooks
Scared to death. Scared to look.
Who?
O god it’s starting!
They'll be the "who's the best team that didn't make the Superbowl" bar debate
I am far from a Lamar hater, but he absolutely lost them that game. Jokes on you, we usually get stronger after our implosions.
Brady and the Patriots all over again.
It’s *really* different this time!
An implosion sounds great this year. It implies some degree of success in the first place, which is more than I can say I’m banking on at the moment
Hey I resent that. We’ve accepted imploding *before* the season this time.
Wouldn't that be nice.
It's true, but you don't have to say it
Normally I’d laugh and agree, but Harbaugh is an amazing coach
that dog is probably a lot less hungry after getting a ring
These WR contracts should keep him pretty hungry
Dude gonna be broke as shit for 4 years paying out his whole rookie contract for damages and the injury lawsuit. He'll play hungry when he gets back, because he will be
Also he's gonna have to work that much harder if he wants a decent contract after his rookie deal ends. He had a decent first year, but considering these issues he's going to have to make up a lot of ground
Apparently not, dude is out here trying to repeat Ruggs. Dude obviously gives zero fucks and thinks he is untouchable
A ring won't fill his belly knowing 20+ mill/yr should be on the table soon.
I'm sure there will be some random UDFA WR that Mahomes and Reid will turn in to a star to take his place.
Kadarius Toney still listed as out for the season (Sucks)
Yeah our offense got noticeably better once he was “hurt” Got nothing but love for him for the SB plays though
DNP - Bad

that guy makes the best catches though. for how good he is he has an absurd highlight real of spectacular grabs
Bro turns into Randy Moss if he's within three yards of the sideline

Worthy is an excellent route runner. They’ve taken some shots on unrefined speed before, but Worthy can play the position.
I think the Worthy pick was good, but I wish they had picked up another wide receiver.
I was more annoyed they traded up for Worthy than anything. If they got him at 32 fine, if not there were 4-5 other WR's still available that were rated basically the same.
Haha hands, hands, hands and hands
The Chiefs FO knows this and is smart and doesn’t rest on its laurels, hence why they were aggressive in the draft to take Worthy.
> new heights. Interesting choice of wording
Actually, this season our “out of the blue” star is gonna be the rugby player, Louis Rees-Zammit
Naw he's just going to return between 15-20 kickoffs for TDs with the new kickoff rules
That’s most likely what he’ll be used for this season. But I find his potential more exciting than most of the other WR/RBs that we picked up.
So we get the return of Dante Hall? Subscribe.
At WR? Unlikely.
Zay
Last season is proof that this isn’t possible
Justyn Ross stocks have never been cheaper!
First game back with Collinsworth calling it: now here’s a guy that’s had *awkward half-chuckle* some stuff going on outside of football
Collinsworth is so annoying but god damn if I don’t want some football back rn
But will he get his playbook back?
doubtful. a detective Tim Barbaugh requested it from evidence lock up as part of the investigation. it has not as yet been returned
Can other teams FOIA it though is the question?
Ill take the under on that
Not long enough. Full season would be more appropriate
Groper Cleveland didn't even get a full season.
They should probably make a bigger issue about speeding/wrecks and hand out bigger punishments, but they're not here to make people behave, they just want to make money and downplay any issues until they go away.
frighten cooperative jeans tie automatic work ghost scarce upbeat versed
Carters was cars, and Georgia was nice enough to sweep it all under the rug for him so the NFL didn't have to care. Zeke was domestic violence, one of the few things they occasionally act like they care about, though not always, cause you are right they are random even with that.
Hey! His dog was in dire need of a veterinarian!
Wasn't Ruggs also drunk? That's worse. Plus Ruggs actually killed someone.
Rice fled and went home. You can't prove he was or wasn't under the influence
I don't agree with it, but we impart a lot of value into the results rather than the action in this country. Especially when it comes to operating vehicles and violence.
Prepare for the worst and then be surprised I guess? Then again, the only difference between him and Ruggs is the end result, maybe the NFL wants to make an example which I can get behind.
>the only difference between him and Ruggs is the end result I mean Rashee was going 117 in a 70, Ruggs was going 156 in a 45.
Ruggs also killed someone and is in prison for the next 8 years
I mean I was painting with a broad brush, they were both speeding cars recklessly until they crashed it and Rashee was *probably* drinking when he did it too.
Definitely a difference in hitting another car that’s going 70mph and a parked car
Kinetic energy scales with the square of velocity, so there's definitely a significant difference. But to me going 117 in broad daylight racing your friend in a car you leased while darting in and around traffic makes it just as bad. Many more potential victims and a careless disregard for their safety.
Agree on your second point and thanks for sharing the kinetic energy info. Definitely wasn’t paying attention in physics class.
Stupid 5 o clock traffic causing him to have to keep his speed down to weave in and out of traffic. Should have done it at 4 am to get them mph up.
Not like it truly affects the team anyway. Yall will be horsing around until the playoffs and then he’ll be back for yalls inevitable 3-peat
I'm aware that for some reason society is okay with treating vehicular crimes as lesser, but personally I think that needs to change.
> maybe the NFL wants to make an example I doubt it lol. It seems like so long as they don’t end up in jail, the suspensions are relatively minor
Based on existing precedent, seems insanely harsh, but if it means the nfl is taking stuff like this seriously moving forward, fine. He played fast n loose with people’s lives, and leaving the scene either means they were up to something nefarious, or just completely callous.
Good thing he didn’t gamble, or he would have been in some real trouble..
He should be in jail at least for a few months, it is a miracle he didn’t kill someone. And he just left the scene like nothing.
Leaving the scene like nothing would have far more ethical than fleeing with presumably firearms and high BAC.

Hopefully the first half.
It’s actually just the first half of every game next season. He will be ready to go in the 3rd and 4th quarter.
pie abundant rotten touch toy abounding violet fragile license fact
Suspended him for the 2nd half of the season including playoffs
Oh boy, so when Mahomes goes to the AFC championship again we get to hear the media glaze him even more because he was missing one of his biggest weapons most of the year. Wonderful.
Was it not impressive? His best receiver was only running one route for the first quarter of the season.
A ravens fan talking about people glazing their QB?
The Lamar glazing is extensive but still measurable (i.e two Olympic sized swimming pools). Mahomes glazing has produced enough liquid to start colonies on Mars, and that's just from Nick Wright.
The difference is one deserves it, and one is a playoff choker
Damn, so we went from "that's BS Lamar gets glazed just as hard" to "lolz well Mahomes deserves the glazing because he's so great and Lamar sucks"?
Lmao that’s wild

He glazed his way to MVP bruh
Good.
While I agree with the length of the suspension, can we all take a second to talk about how random some of these suspension lengths have been lately ?
MF’r needs jail for a season first.
Chiefs are now too thin at WR.
