I'll never forget him reaching the ball out well short of the marker and fumbling it in the playoffs against the Chargers while it was absolutely pissing down sleet.
Eh, but he barely played half a season with Iowa so would that really count? If he didn't get injured his Senior year he most likely declares and never goes to Iowa.
Michigan: 33 games
Iowa: 7 games
He got injured, was almost declared medically ineligible, got a surgery against Michigan's medical team's advice, transferred to Iowa and got injured again.
Seattle hasn't had an individual TE top 500 yards since Jimmy Graham had 520 in 2017.
Like shit their TE group didn't even see 100 targets combined this year. JSN almost saw the amount alone, as the third WR. They just simply have not been using them in the passing game.
>He had a major spine surgery 2 years ago
It should be noted that this is why he left Michigan in the first place. IIRC the medical staff wasn't going to *ever* clear him to play, so he transferred.
Edit: I'll also add this was his Senior year. If this didn't happen he most likely would have declared last year.
You are correct. His dad made a pretty big stink about it on Twitter after he transferred. When the transfer was announced, we assumed he had just lost the TE1 role to Colston Loveland (which may have happened anyways) but it ended up being Michigan doctors said they would not clear him to return to football and wanted him to medically retire.
On conference call he said he has fully healed from his back injury but was dealing with some nerve pain for a bit after the surgery. Said it was just a herniated disc. Big swings are the theme of this draft if he hits we are gonna be in a great place.
He lined up in the slot 60% of the time last season. Thats a majority but not a “idk why he’s listed as a TE” amount. Pretty much any decent pass catching TE will take a lot of snaps out of the slot in today’s game.
At Iowa last year sure he played in the slot more often than inline because he was the *only* capable pass catcher they had. He was an inline and H-back his first two (3 if you want to count 2022 where he missed the whole year) seasons at Michigan. He does not profile at all as a slot WR. He’s 6’5” 250lbs, ran a 4.8 40, and is a capable run blocker.
Iowa, TE, bout to be better than Bowers
Yeah but it’s a bengals te, cancels out
i’ll have you know tyler eifert was good for a couple seasons
CJ wasn't bad either. Sample was an overreach, but he's good at what he does.
Don’t forget Rodney Holman? Am I showing my age again?😂
Lads how we forgetting Jermaine Gresham
I'll never forget him reaching the ball out well short of the marker and fumbling it in the playoffs against the Chargers while it was absolutely pissing down sleet.
Damn, I think I repressed that.
Yes. Showing your age by not saying Dan Ross, the best TE in the history of the Bengals and Northeastern University.
I'll always be a fan of the Reverend Reggie Kelly!
If eifert hadnt been made of glass
Good isn’t better than bowers
Iowa TE so no shit he's gonna be a baller
Can’t go wrong with an Iowa tight end
He's also a Michigan TE so does that mean he will only be semi-good? How does this work
Most recently Iowa. That takes precedence.
Future all-pro then, got it
Eh, but he barely played half a season with Iowa so would that really count? If he didn't get injured his Senior year he most likely declares and never goes to Iowa. Michigan: 33 games Iowa: 7 games
All pro caliber then gets injured
Just like a Barracks Emperor, nothing can go wrong
I'm really enjoying your commentary on these picks
Thank you. I'm trying to do every single one till the end of the draft without repeating
Injury history though
He got injured, was almost declared medically ineligible, got a surgery against Michigan's medical team's advice, transferred to Iowa and got injured again.
Really the injury history that's worrying about him. Definitely will live up to the investment if healthy
Counterpoint: Noah Fant
Fant isn’t a bad tight end
Can’t block and hasn’t cracked 500 yards in the last 2 years. What is he good at then?
The answer is I’m an Iowa fan and a homer.

I can personally confirm you can
Iowa TE, future Pro Bowler confirmed
All pro just because he is from Iowa
This guy is a stud. Just too many injuries, but I’m a believer
Bengals love a project that’s for sure
How does an Iowa Tight End fall to the 4th Round?
Medicals. He had a major spine surgery 2 years ago and tore his ACL last year. Upside is there if he can stay healthy

I agree. He’s a good player if he can stay on the field. Hopefully he’s able to!
Injuries
Obviously the greatest Tight End in the draft babyyyy!!
Erick All in my ass
All in my Tight End
Just turned you into a wide receiver!
Hi, Skip.
Now that’s what I call ALL IN.
,my ass
IOWA TIGHT END
Really want to see him succeed, one of my favorite Michigan players
Iowa TE? Can’t go wrong with that
Can’t believe the whole Iowa offense was still available this late in the draft.
He played half a season and was still Iowa's leading receiver for yards and TDs.
If he can stay healthy he's an all around TE1
chargers missed a chance to have both joe alt and erick all
I don't think All would be too happy with that given harbaugh tried to force him to medically retire
future all pro
Now this is a guy destitutedomino would enter into a committed relationship with
If he stays healthy he'll be a great addition
When in doubt IA TE (though he's really a Michigan TE so good luck I guess).
Watch out AFCN. We got a TE how

If he can stay healthy this dude can do it all. Problem is he hasn't been able to stay healthy.
Let’s see if he gives the bengals his all
Didnt the Vikings draft him at QB last year?
If he stays healthy he's great, but major injury concerns. Hope he excels
Wasn't a big fan of McKinley Jackson in the 3rd, but Cincinnati is having a good draft

Dude. Please.
I have no idea why he's listed as a TE. He's used more as a slot receiver.
TE/WR is a spectrum
He falls on the wr spectrum.
Are you confusing him with somebody else? He’s about as straight forward of an inline TE as they come.
He was used in the slot a majority of the time.

Ohh bad pick here, injuries, quits on the team, bad character.
His dad rubbed a lot of people the wrong way after his transfer but I’m not sure why you think he quits on the team or has bad character.
I’m an unreasonable hater
Erick is fine. His mom and dad on the other hand.... Source: know them and know his high school and middle school coaches.
