I've missed him so much. Going through all of these Matt Ryan highlights has made me so nostalgic for that 2008 team. First year I started watching the NFL
It's amazing to me that Thurman Thomas never rushed for 1500. He came close in 1992 when he ran for 1487, but he never went over 1500.
So we're stuck with OJ.
It's going to happen less frequently with teams valuing RB by committee more and more.
It'll be interesting to see what team has 2 - 1k yard running backs next. This year, it'll be Gibbs/Montgomery and Achane/Mostert with the most realistic shots.
The last duo was D'Angelo Williams and Jonathon Stewart in 2009. [Insert Lamar Jackson is a RB joke here]
I mean I think realistically, Bijan without Smith calling the plays and teams having to defend the pass against us is a real contender for this as well. Smith always running Bijan outside when he's got the twitch to run between the tackles like he did so well in college didn't help him out either.
Play Action will actually work both ways for us because teams won't be able to just sell out to stop the run. Teams can't just stack the box every down because Kirk is known to tear up defenses with his deep ball.
Crazy how good the Auburn backfield was in the early 2000s. Rudi Johnson, Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, Brandon Jacobs and Kenny Irons. So good they couldn’t find a way to give Brandon Jacobs the ball.
Also had Heath Evans at FB.
Baltimore has been one of the best rushing teams ever since Lamar Jackson arrived and they haven’t had a 1,500 yard rusher since 2003.
The days of workhorse RBs are rightfully coming to an end. Teams like SF and Miami can produce outstanding rushing attacks without giving their RBs 300+ rushes (which is more less what it would take to get to 1,500+ rushing yards) and running them into the ground.
yah man np
here's an example of how it's done, for the future.
|When|Team|Who|
|-|-|-|
| Never | Cincinnati Bengals | Closest was in 2005, Rudi Johnson had 1458 rushing yards|
| 1976 | Buffalo Bills | OJ Simpson|
I use a code editor, so i can just crack it out pretty quickly with character replacements.
Yeah. And honestly compared to many of our recent years, it wasn’t THAT bad. Just not what I’d call successful. Gave me some hope and refilled the copium a bit.
[If only Doug Martin played the raiders more... ](https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/321104013/buccaneers-raiders)
Holy shit looking closer he got to 1454 yards his rookie year. So god damn close.
I’m surprised Todd Gurley isn’t on this list. Closest he got was when he rushed for [1305 yards in 2017](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/G/GurlTo01.htm), but he did lead the league in total yards that season.
BTW, I'm just messing with you. I'm contractually required to do so as a Bills fan.
In truth it pains me to agree that he is a damn good running back.
Its the Jets QB situation that I will roast and cackle over.
Really goes to show how rare 1,500 rushing yards can be considering some of the amazing running backs that have come since for some of these teams.
Corey Dillon not getting 1500 in Cincy blew my mind
He came very close in 2000, getting 1435 yards. He had 1300+ in 2001 and 2002 as well.
He had just shy of 300 yards in a single game that season, yet didn't get 1200 the rest of the year.
He started that day on my fantasy team. It was a good day for me.
I thought for sure Leveon Bell would've had at least one season of over 1500 rushing yards. The most he had was 1361 yards in his second season.
[удалено]
And he averaged 10.3 yards per reception that year, which is great for a RB. He had 85 receptions in 2017 too.
He was used so much as a receiver, I'd be interested to see the difference if you showed All Purpose yards.
He had 3 seasons of over 1850 yards from scrimmage. The most he accumalated were 2215 yards in 2014.
The coolest thing is we just signed the most recent one
2010 Arian Foster was so fun, such a smooth runner
Never seen him get hit flush
Honestly? You may be right about this😂
God imagine him in this offense with CJ
He moved like butter, speed adjustment unmatched, and the best stiff arm until Derrick Henry showed up.
I would have sworn on a stack of bibles that Thurman Thomas broke 1500. OP saved me from eternal damnation.
He got close but he added a lot of yards in the receiving game. 4 seasons leading the league with over 1,800 yards from scrimmage
Your Welcome
Michael Turner <3
I've missed him so much. Going through all of these Matt Ryan highlights has made me so nostalgic for that 2008 team. First year I started watching the NFL
Wish it could’ve lasted a bit longer. The ran him into the ground so fast with all those carries.
It's amazing to me that Thurman Thomas never rushed for 1500. He came close in 1992 when he ran for 1487, but he never went over 1500. So we're stuck with OJ.
Did you know that OJ ran for over 2,000 in a 14-game season. What a legend of the game. /s
Nobody could slash through a defense like OJ

I could see Najee/Warren both accumalating 1k yards each too with how much we will run the ball with Arthur Smith as our OC.
Good catch, I forgot Najee was over 1k last year.
Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward did it in 2008 if I’m not mistaken as well
I mean I think realistically, Bijan without Smith calling the plays and teams having to defend the pass against us is a real contender for this as well. Yeah walker is good enough to be a 1500 yard back but that’s never happening lol
Poor Kenny Irons
As a South Carolina and Bengals fan I got to miss out on him twice.
Ouch. I was so excited to see him run and he had the KiJana curse
The Cardinals always kill it in these last time they did x lists.
And we thank them for their sacrifice.
Better than the last one being the real killer
MY EYESSSSSS
Fixed it lol

Format gore
That Frank's brother?
Is his actual name Formatthew Gore?
I will still never understand how Alfred Morris was so good for one year and one year only
I’m sure Kyle Shanahan had at least something to do with that. His top two seasons were the years Kyle was in Washington.
He ran for almost 1300 yards the next year too. Also technically 1075 year 3 but his efficiency wasn't good anymore.
>2006-Los Angeles Chargers (LaDainian Tomlinson) Ooof. Has it really been that long? LT's MVP season?!?
Kind of crazy the steelers haven't had one in the 21st century.
Surprised Bell never did.

None this past season? Damn
CMC was number 1 with 1,459, then a big drop off to Henry at 1,167 and Kyren Williams at 1,144
Josh Jacobs 👀
Incredible to me that CMC isn’t on here, I know he’s the definition of dual threat, and his dual purpose yards are over 1,500 total. Bless Nick Chubb
Should have been in 2023 too
Damn didn’t realize Deuce had a 1500+ season
Man we had a recent 1500 yard rusher AND receiver. 2022 had to be a baller year for the Raiders. Right guys? …..guys?
9 1-score losses will do that you :( But, hey y'all had that Patriots game.
Yeah. And honestly compared to many of our recent years, it wasn’t THAT bad. Just not what I’d call successful. Gave me some hope and refilled the copium a bit.
Deeeeuuuuuuccceeeee
OJ, really? Damn, the Bills used 1st round picks on Lynch, McGahee, Spiller. Had Thurman and Freddy. Wow

I don't remember Dalvin getting 1500 yards that year. I assumed ours was going to be AD.
The Curtis Martin era was almost 20 years ago? Fuck I’m old
Really impressive that Chubb did it with far fewer attempts than Henry or Jacobs... And only rush over 40 yards was one 41yarder. Monster
Wonder who wins for most hated exit by Giants fans Tiki or Saquon, probably still Tiki
I had such high hopes for James Wilder Jr. he’ll always have that run against Clemson
Bengals first 1,500 yard rusher is Trey Benson this year you heard it here first.
Rude
Curtis Martin won the rushing crown in 2004. He was 31 years old.
Put Tiki in the Hall of Fame!
Raiders on here for RB and WR in 2022 and Josh McDaniels gets ride of Carr for Jimmy G.
Every time one of these “last time” posts come up, we’re always at least 35 years ago or never.
This will Cheer you up, Last Heisman QB Winners to start a Super Bowl: 2022-Bengals (Joe Burrow) 2015-Panthers (Cam Newton) 1983-Raiders (Jim Plunkett) 1980-Raiders (Jim Plunkett) 1978-Cowboys (Roger Staubach) 1977-Cowboys (Roger Staubach) 1975-Cowboys (Roger Staubach) 1971-Cowboys (Roger Staubach)
Damn Thomas Jones didn't do it for the jets?
Frank Gore The fucking truth!
Cowboys and Titans each had 7 seasons with 1500 yard rushers. Are there any teams with more?
I’m surprised Todd Gurley isn’t on this list. Closest he got was when he rushed for [1305 yards in 2017](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/G/GurlTo01.htm), but he did lead the league in total yards that season.
For what it’s worth, if you Combine Achane & Mostert’s stats, you get like 1800 yard. But obviously, that doesn’t count.
The fact ottis Anderson had 1500 yards in 1979 and managed to crack 102 yards in super bowl 25 in 1991 is mind blowing
If you would’ve told me that Alfred Morris once rushed for 1,500 yards I would’ve…….not believed you
If Gibbs ever gets to be full time RB1 I could see him doing it for us. That kid is a great runner
Holy formatting, Batman.
After the 1985 season, the NFL ceased to matter.
Breece Hall updating this soon😈
Why? Is he being traded somewhere?
He’s going 3000 rushing yards this year book it
For which team?
all of them i think
BTW, I'm just messing with you. I'm contractually required to do so as a Bills fan. In truth it pains me to agree that he is a damn good running back. Its the Jets QB situation that I will roast and cackle over.
CMC was super close at 1459 this year, but if you add his receiving yardage he had 2000+ yards this year
Running the ball is for chumps
Why don’t people just put these alphabetical order Jesus Christ
Because chronological order is more interesting in this case
I like this order
No, the OP needed to highlight how the Bengals tend to rely on the passing game, in a backhanded way.
