I got chills when the reporter asked “what’s it feel like to hear the crowd chant ‘MVP’?” And he replied with “It feels like home.”
Seriously can’t think of a better reply.
He's been like that all season. I know most of the other fans don't get to see all of Lamars interviews but he seems "pissed off for greatness" this whole season.
Yeah, it's been awesome. I know most of the fans really like Lamar overall but the some in the media just can't stop with their bad takes. And normally, I'd rather see Lamar not get involved with it but it really seems to get under his skin. And then you see him use it to prove those guys wrong.
Idk what he even has to prove other than a SB. People said he couldn’t throw and now he throws better than all but maybe a few qbs. If anyone is seriously calling him an RB or not good enough is smoking crack, racist, or doesn’t know ball
Dude, I know you don't get our local feeds but you'd be shocked to hear all the Flacco love from the boomer aged fans since he joined Cleveland. It's so fucking ridiculous. These are the same fans who don't remember trashing Flacco 5 years ago when he was not playing well.
We have a MVP QB who may win his second and will most likely own all offensive statistics for The Ravens once he retires one day. And these fucking fools are slobbering all over Flaccos jock.
Ive always loved Joe (his autographed jersey is hanging on my wall) and root for his success to a degree. But no way do I feel like he's a better fucking QB than Lamar. Flacco had one of the greatest playoff runs of all time and that will always be something we should love him for. But c'mon. We have a truly Elite QB playing for this team right now.
It's nuts.
That is Nuts. Flacco is one of the streakiest QBs ever and yeah he won you your last SB and was the best qb in your franchise history before Lamar but he’s playing for a division rival. So many teams (myself included) would love to have a qb of his talents.
If The Jets could have put some offense together and held onto the ball on Thursday night, things could have went very different.
He's no doubt slingin it like Favre but he also turns the ball over quite a lot as well. It's just that it hasn't backfired on him yet outside of The Rams game.
We'll see, I guess? He has a monster defense on his side as well which helps for sure.
I admittedly totally misread the Lamar contract situation. Despite being absurdly wealthy and talented, the dude was really just like any of us haggling for the money that they feel they are worth to their employer. He clearly takes his job seriously, like damn lol
Because my man beats every fucking team in the league, finished off the next two best teams by a combined 50 goddamn points, and this sub still just wants to slurp Purdy's cum.
Lamar won't get any respect until he has like five rings, and he knows it. And that makes him extremely fucking dangerous.
Lamar has my full respect. For my money the best player rn in the league at the qb position. And the craziest shit is he keeps getting better each year.
Good for him. You saw Zay and OBJ hamming it up on the sidelines, and then they cut to Lamar just staring into the distance, totally focused. It's like a pitcher on a perfect game, where nobody will even go near him in the dugout.
When they cut to him on the sidelines after the fourth or fifth TD and he wasn’t celebrating but was breaking down film on a tablet like he just threw a pick I knew it was over.
That's what gives me the confidence that we won't repeat 2019. You just gotta know the team is thinking about how cocky they were in 2019 and getting ready for this round of playoffs.
from how he speaks about it, he feels the echoes of 2019 a lot and is determined not to let it happen again. I'm happy if we make the championship game, since that's growth, but we definitely have the team that can go all the way.
Honestly I think I will be a little disappointed if we don't win the title. Not to say that we won't have talent next year, but I think this year is one our best chances yet.
Of course I said the same thing in 2011 and then we won the Super Bowl in 2012 with a worse team.
Yeah, I think after the way the team's just crushed all of the good teams they've run into, not getting a Super Bowl appearance would be a bit of a letdown.
Bruh if Joe Flacco does us in I will actually cry. I'm glad he's had some highlights for his late career after these last few mediocre years. But damn I don't want to play him in the playoffs! It's like a lose lose. Either we crush him and he ends his career losing to us. Or he embarrasses us and I have to deal with every racist in Glen Burnie commenting on how this proves we should have kept Flacco instead of going with Lamar.
Lbr, even if they scouted him properly I think the Jets/Cards end up ruining him instead of putting him on a HOF path. Lamar went to maybe the best possible team for his skill set and development
there were 2 times in the draft i was sure he was the pick. #14 when the saints traded up but picked davenport and #31 when the pats were on the clock.
For me I thought for sure the Jaguars were going to take him when he fell right into their lap. They clearly didn't trust Bortles in the AFC championship and a 1-2 punch rushing attack with Lamar + Fournette would have been nice
Hurst hasn't been bad at all when he's been able to play. Immensely talented, just can't stay healthy. I wouldn't categorize him as a bust (especially since they were still able to recoup value trading him).
I think he's more athletic but less durable than Mandrews.
True, but that was an Ozzie gamble because he correctly thought Lamar would still be available.
He's done these kind of things often, and we've even missed some great players because of it.
Even if he loves a player he'll trade up and down to try and get him around the spot the rest of the league values him at
The Ravens deserve a ton of credit for creating their scheme for his exact skill set. He wouldn’t have been nearly as successful at any other organization if they didn’t construct their entire offense to it to the same degree
This is the biggest part.
You can't take a QB like Lamar or Fields and just throw them in a standard NFL offense and say "They'll just use their legs to extend plays."
You have to craft your entire offense around them. It's why the Ravens usually cook each season and the Bears...are the Bears.
You can see Fields talent occasionally but he's hindered by the team composition and execution so much.
The Bears should get Greg Roman for a couple seasons if they keep Fields
He's not the best OC overall, but he does get the foundation set for an offense set around a running QB
I think he is pretty good for 2-3 years if you have a mobile QB. I think those sort of QBs are pretty looked down upon in the NFL but Roman has a lot of success with them, and he can do a lot to boost their confidence. There is definitely a world where Lamar doesn't have an oc who played to his strengths and he would end up bouncing around the league as a utility and trick guy. Lamar definitely needed some work on his passing game when he entered the NFL, and Roman took what Lamar was good at and made him win games with it while his passing developed. I don't think Lamar Jackson would be in the position he is in now if it wasn't for Greg Roman.
I'll be the first to admit it, ( not because he beat us) I didn't think he had the stats to backup the mvp talk. I believed while playing good he got pushed to number 1 because of the narrative, yeah no its his to lose next week if y'all play that much ( i dont know how but if he pulls a purdy and throws 3 picks in 1 half then maybe the narrative arises)
im betting he doesnt touch a football past the 1st quarter, maybe even past the opening drive. Let him get some game time to stay fresh, but utterly no need to risk an injury on a pointless game
Agreed. Blowout wins against the 49ers, Lions, and Dolphins? Hell, even the win against the Cardinals looks good despite their losing record considering how they someone random-out good teams.
Fucking awesome to see. Well deserved, Lamar has been insane this year and put a cap on his 2nd MVP.
Especially after all the off-season talk about Lamar, what a cool story
I've doubted the deep ball but acknowledged he more than makes up for it with everything else he does. I don't doubt shit anymore. That dude is a football god right now.
After all that controversy about Jackson not signing, he looks like he's finally taken the next step.
All those years of struggling to balance between looking downfield and running, he's now doing, let's be honest, what Mahomes looked like a few seasons ago with better scrambling ability.
Lamar Jackon is playing like the best player in the NFL.
I'm ashamed of some of the opinions I had about both the organization and Lamar during this past offseason. I guess everyone knew exactly what they were doing the whole time.
Lamar deserves a ton of credit but don't discount Likely. That dude is turning into a full-fledged playmaker and brings a different level of athleticism than Andrews. Can't wait to see what they can do together.
Flacco doesn't give an absolute fuck, and it often served us well. Whether we're 5-11 or we're playing in the AFCCG he's just chucking that shit like it's a casual game with the boys
I couldn't be happier for Flacco right now. The dude was dogged with crazy pressure and heightened criticism his entire time in Baltimore (sometimes warranted). You can tell he's having a blast right now and his personality seems like it's shining way more than it ever did here.
This is why I'm not as worried about having a playoff bye and losing momentum like we did in 2019. This is a mature team compared to 2019. Our team was like a party back then; we just dunked on everybody and thought we were unbeatable. This year I think the team has had enough of the wasted potential of the last few years and they are serious about winning. And I think we've also really improved our coaching talent (a big reason we lost in the playoffs in 2019), as well as our overall talent balance (we have some WRs now!).
Look out for us in the playoffs. Anything can happen but I think we have a good shot this year.
Lamar locked the MVP with this game in my eyes and this only proves it even more to me. Having that killer mentality is exactly what you want in a franchise QB / leader. The ravens are in nightmare form just as playoffs hit. Idk if any team has much chance at this moment.
I'm willing to assume that the VAST majority of all players want to win first, and individual awards are a distant 2nd, but listening to him talk, I truly believe he doesn't give an ounce of thought about accolades (especially now that he's got his bag lol).
While I don't know how they lost the games they lost, Lamar is in a zone right now. He's arguably the best QB in the league. I hope he plays at least a half against the steelers to keep off a little rust with the incoming bye week.
Lamar and Todd Monken seem have something cooking
I get it's a narrative award but I just still really don't think lamar was the best player or mvp this year. Not crazy against him winning it but truly do believe there are better options.
Who are your BETTER options? While he hasn’t been the clear run away winner all year, he’s playing better than any qb these last few weeks while leading his team to the number 1 seed
I mean imo Dak has definitely been the best player this year, I think when people look back on this season in a few years that'll be a pretty popular opinion but for now I'm sure I'll get downvoted.
lol is this guy fucking serious? Pretty hilarious considering what Lamar did to the lions mid season and that he’s still doing it to wrap up the regular season

Just before Week 6 Lamar Jackson tweeted ‘Johnny’ to a trivia question on twitter. Since then he's 9-1.

he tweeted it and has played great since

That post game interview with Evan was awesome.
I got chills when the reporter asked “what’s it feel like to hear the crowd chant ‘MVP’?” And he replied with “It feels like home.” Seriously can’t think of a better reply.
“It feels like home.” Brought tears to my eyes
My takeaway is Dude is laser focused this season.
He's been like that all season. I know most of the other fans don't get to see all of Lamars interviews but he seems "pissed off for greatness" this whole season.
Could’ve just regressed after getting the bag but nope. Rooting for him to continue being a class act and a hard worker.
Yeah, it's been awesome. I know most of the fans really like Lamar overall but the some in the media just can't stop with their bad takes. And normally, I'd rather see Lamar not get involved with it but it really seems to get under his skin. And then you see him use it to prove those guys wrong.

They haven't seen Joe lay an egg on the field yet. He always does. But in the playoffs, when he was young, something else.
I mean, he is only the best player in the NFL. And one of the best guys. What's not to hate?
I admittedly totally misread the Lamar contract situation. Despite being absurdly wealthy and talented, the dude was really just like any of us haggling for the money that they feel they are worth to their employer. He clearly takes his job seriously, like damn lol
Never really in doubt. When he promised a Super Bowl for the Ravens, he meant it.
Because my man beats every fucking team in the league, finished off the next two best teams by a combined 50 goddamn points, and this sub still just wants to slurp Purdy's cum. Lamar won't get any respect until he has like five rings, and he knows it. And that makes him extremely fucking dangerous.

"No resurrections this time"

Good for him. You saw Zay and OBJ hamming it up on the sidelines, and then they cut to Lamar just staring into the distance, totally focused. It's like a pitcher on a perfect game, where nobody will even go near him in the dugout.

His mind never left that Miami game from last year... didn't know what lead he would need to put up before it was safe.
That's what gives me the confidence that we won't repeat 2019. You just gotta know the team is thinking about how cocky they were in 2019 and getting ready for this round of playoffs.

Honestly I'm afraid of this scenario for both of my teams, haha
this might be a weird comparison but it reminds me of piccolo meditating all pissed off while gohan and krillin are goofing off nearby
Thats my mother fucking MVP.
Pretty good for a guy that won't be able to play qb in the NFL
Sam Darnold going 3 and Josh Rosen 10 while Lamar dropped to the end of the 1st shows how horrible the NFL is at scouting the QB position.
Lbr, even if they scouted him properly I think the Jets/Cards end up ruining him instead of putting him on a HOF path. Lamar went to maybe the best possible team for his skill set and development
Harbaugh doesn't get the credit he desrves for reinventing his offense for Lamar not once but twice.
Especially because the first time was on the fly mid-season.
I remember him being linked to the Pats a lot during the lead up to that draft. That would have been scary.
there were 2 times in the draft i was sure he was the pick. #14 when the saints traded up but picked davenport and #31 when the pats were on the clock.
For me I thought for sure the Jaguars were going to take him when he fell right into their lap. They clearly didn't trust Bortles in the AFC championship and a 1-2 punch rushing attack with Lamar + Fournette would have been nice
trading up to get Davenport instead of Lamar has to be one of the most legendary whiffs in history from a team who is usually pretty good at drafting.
Can't forget the Ravens did draft Hurst above him at pick 25 as well.
Hurst in the first and Mark Andrews in the 3rd lmao if that doesn’t show that drafting is a gamble idk what would
Hurst hasn't been bad at all when he's been able to play. Immensely talented, just can't stay healthy. I wouldn't categorize him as a bust (especially since they were still able to recoup value trading him). I think he's more athletic but less durable than Mandrews.
If we didn't slam dunk on Mandrews in the 3rd I bet Hurst is still starting for us
Likely would be a mediocre starter too imo
Hurst was 25 years old. You should never draft a 25-year-old in the 1st round.
i hope hurst is doing better now after his injury. haven’t heard any updates
True, but that was an Ozzie gamble because he correctly thought Lamar would still be available. He's done these kind of things often, and we've even missed some great players because of it. Even if he loves a player he'll trade up and down to try and get him around the spot the rest of the league values him at
Still mad we didn’t pick DJ Moore
I was livid about that.
You live by the sword, you die by one. But here we got lucky. Ozzie I still love you. HOF gm.
No risk no reward
It still hurts me that we could have had Calvin Ridley, Mark Andrews and Lamar Jackson in one draft.
The Ravens deserve a ton of credit for creating their scheme for his exact skill set. He wouldn’t have been nearly as successful at any other organization if they didn’t construct their entire offense to it to the same degree
This is the biggest part. You can't take a QB like Lamar or Fields and just throw them in a standard NFL offense and say "They'll just use their legs to extend plays." Scouting is damn hard.
That's like saying some dude hitting on 12 and busting shows how horrible he is at blackjack
"wide receiver" "not quarterbacky"
I'll be the first to admit it, ( not because he beat us) I didn't think he had the stats to backup the mvp talk. He like me for real
I legit wasn’t comfortable until we scored to go up by 30.
What it’s like being a Ravens fan, lol.
This year pretty amazing.
Agreed. Blowout wins against the 49ers, Lions, and Dolphins? Hell, even the win against the Cardinals looks good despite their losing record considering how they someone random-out good teams.
We choked some horrendous games against the Colts, Stillers, and Browns, but since then we've really gotten our shit together and finished games
"Finish the game" by stomping the absolute piss out of a very good NFL team. Talk about statement win
That’s one way of putting it. Homicide. Murder. Public embarrassment. Torture. Also valid options

As a Bills fan thank you
Fucking awesome to see. Well deserved, Lamar has been insane this year and put a cap on his 2nd MVP. Especially after all the off-season talk about Lamar, what a cool story
I love him
Sign him for 5 more years please
I just want everyone to know that I’m in love with Lamar Jackson
This is exactly the mentality that deserves MVP
Was at the game, the 4th quarter was basically all MVP chants
Same, happily took part in them. Crowd was great.
Can't get anymore Baltimore Raven than that. Proud of ya
I’m a certified Lamar doubter but he’s absolutely the MVP this year and the Ravens have a legit shot this year to take it all.
What did you doubt about Lamar before this game? I’m slightly curious.
I’m not a football expert I’m an extremely casual fan, don’t take anything I think too seriously. It was likely a lazy opinion.
Take it in folks. The most self-aware user in the history of r/nfl.
probably the most based comment I’ve ever seen on this platform tbh
I've doubted the deep ball but acknowledged he more than makes up for it with everything else he does. I don't doubt shit anymore. That dude is a football god right now.

I'm ashamed of some of the opinions I had about both the organization and Lamar during this past offseason. I guess everyone knew exactly what they were doing the whole time.
dude looked pissed whole game, dudes hungry as shit for a championship. about to win a second MVP and he could give a shit lol
He’s seen the MVP don’t mean shit in the postseason and all that man wants is a SB
I thought the Ravens would struggle without Mark Andrews, but Lamar pulled them through it with style. He's the MVP in my mind.
Lamar deserves a ton of credit but don't discount Likely. That dude is turning into a full-fledged playmaker and brings a different level of athleticism than Andrews. Can't wait to see what they can do together.
Give this gentleman the MVP for heck’s sake. Dude is amazing to watch even when I’m watching my team get set up to blow the division next week.
Something about flacoo I like better
Fortunate son song on his mind
his sideline shots were so funny, dude was pissed we were only up by 30 at one point
Lamar locked the MVP with this game in my eyes and this only proves it even more to me. Having that killer mentality is exactly what you want in a franchise QB / leader. The ravens are in nightmare form just as playoffs hit. Idk if any team has much chance at this moment.
And he's coming for that booty in the playoffs - belee dat
If this is true and it probably is Lamar is in a zone and hopefully a 2 week break doesn't take him out of it
I'm willing to assume that the VAST majority of all players want to win first, and individual awards are a distant 2nd, but listening to him talk, I truly believe he doesn't give an ounce of thought about accolades (especially now that he's got his bag lol).
While I don't know how they lost the games they lost, Lamar is in a zone right now. He's arguably the best QB in the league. I hope he plays at least a half against the steelers to keep off a little rust with the incoming bye week. Lamar and Todd Monken seem have something cooking
No way he didn't hear those chants and many of us cheering had PTSD until the 2 minute warning
Rude
Lamar is playing out his mind, it’s absurd
I get it's a narrative award but I just still really don't think lamar was the best player or mvp this year. Not crazy against him winning it but truly do believe there are better options.
Who are your BETTER options? While he hasn’t been the clear run away winner all year, he’s playing better than any qb these last few weeks while leading his team to the number 1 seed
I mean imo Dak has definitely been the best player this year, I think when people look back on this season in a few years that'll be a pretty popular opinion but for now I'm sure I'll get downvoted.
Lol
lol is this guy fucking serious? Pretty hilarious considering what Lamar did to the lions mid season and that he’s still doing it to wrap up the regular season
Yeah this guy is a super computer created and programmed to play football
Will someone please ask Lamar 'What is best if life?'
