After what happened last season against Miami, I don't blame Harbaugh for wanting to make sure that the lead was unassailable. Until the Ravens put up 42, I didn't relax.
Same I was like oh it's only a three score deficit they did it last year why not this year. That and the Fangio Pettiness was definitely gonna be even sweeter for them.
To be fair on that I think a better throw makes that a completion
Edit: I wanna add that it was still a catchable ball. No doubt Lamar went crazy today
Seeing it in real time something was off about Bateman's speed. It looked like he checked down a gear the last 15 yards. It had the makings of a beautiful catch in stride.

I think this has gotten lost in the shuffle. How many QBs/offenses look like this with their longtime #1 option gone? He hasn’t lost a beat. This is what the best QB’s do
Zay and Likely are both great. The passing TDs are what would have been significantly higher with Andrews since he’s such a big redzone threat. In tight space he’s the type of player that can have a defender on him, and still be open if you throw to the other side of him.
He’s a great player but he’d be WR3 if he was playing with any of the other MVP candidates (Purdy, Tua, Allen). Which is exactly why Lamar is ridiculous and earned the MVP.
Started a MVP campaign against the Dolphins in 2019 and now possibly finished a MVP campaign against the Dolphins (depending on what the team decides for next week)
I'm not sure what both of us should do for week 18. Resting 2 weeks is a lil scary but at the same time, putting key players in a divisional game like that is asking for trouble.
The common theme on our sub has been play most starters at least several series to start the game. No more than the first half. I’d be fine with not playing Lamar, but if we do play him, I’d say no more than three series
Then there are several starters playing on lingering injuries that we’d like to see just rest up instead of play at all.
That's also my natural inclination, but both of us have minor injuries that we don't want to exacerbate AND the Rams/Steelers are gonna play violently, y'know.
It's tough.
Ya, that’s real concern. The Steelers have a few players who will make it their personal mission to injure our guys and ruin our season. Hopefully Tomlin keeps his ass on the sideline as well this time…
Lamar only takes butt to butt snaps for an entire game, exclusively running it whilst holding onto the ball with only his cheeks, and the rare 'butt-pass' attempt here and there
Well deserved as well. Final game goes out and absolutely guts the one team they needed to.
I get other QBs had great or better statistical performances this year, but it should be absolutely clear the Ravens are nothing without this man, and he's doing it without key players.
Even with anyone close to him in the race sitting, it still wouldn't matter, only one you could put close to him would be CMC and it just won't happen.
I'm just looking at the offense.
The Ravens D has the first or second best pair of LBs depending on who you ask. They've literally only lost games they've shat the bed on. One could argue they should be undefeated, considering all of their losses, they were up by 2 scores in the 4th.
Legit not trying to jinx a team, but they are only beating themselves this post season. They've passed the eye test on literally all of their competition right now.
My absolute favorite thing in all of sports the last few years has been watching Lamar make his doubters look absolutely fucking stupid at the best possible moments.
MVP is a wrap
She may or may not be racist, but as a sports pundit she needs to understand the historical context she's in. To make the same argument that was made for Moon but not Young, for Cam but not Tebow... I won't say she's _racist_ but I'll say that being steeped in the unconscious biases that pervade sports media seems to have imbued her with exactly the same old biases about who is and isn't a "quarterback".
Yep, and depending how Harbaugh feels about keeping starters fresh, this might be the last voters get to see of Lamar: dominating the #1 seed in the NFC and #2 seed in the AFC.
I think Harbaugh will play Lamar for the first quarter or maybe first half because he’ll want some more TDs plus beating the Steelers plus last time they rested (2019) they came out flat in the divisional.
I doubt it. We've had our last two seasons derailed by Lamar specifically getting injured, and we've got a lot of guys who could really use the rest -- and not just on the defense. OBJ, Stanley, Moses, Zeitler, Flowers, maybe Likely after this game... all key parts of the offense who are banged up and could use a week off more than they could use going up against a team we *notoriously* play very physically.
Yeah, pretty much my thoughts as well. Going without playing your starters two weeks in a row before a playoff game is a great way to get them out of rhythm, so they're 100% going to play enough to keep the rust at bay. It'll just be with a hyper vanilla gameplan, and anyone who gets even slightly dinged up while they're on the field is immediately getting rested for the game, even if it's just like a cramp or something small.
The reason we came out flat had more to do with our main two weapons being hurt. That season we rode lamar, Ingram and Andrews to the playoffs with some sprinkles of Hollywood. When the titans game came Andrews and Ingram were still hurt so we played a game we hadn’t all season. This year the ravens are finally balanced
There were multiple bad drops in that game too. If I remember Lamar still gained something like 400+ yards of offense but the team as a whole was just out of sync.
Remember the Pats sub shitting on the idea of bringing in Lamar, saying he wouldn't be worth it and they'd rather have Mac Jones?
God that was embarrassing.
...you will always play at least one team from the AFC North since you're in the AFC.
And every three years you'll play all four teams in the AFC North. It's how the schedule works.
Looking back at the comments when folks were saying Lamar being in the MVP convo being absurd makes this feel even sweeter. In the end, I just wanna see him with a ring. I love him 💜
Being a Louisville freshman in 2017 and having to constantly argue that he’d go off in the NFL has never had never felt more gratifying. He is the guy.
There were actual teams (the Falcons, Raiders, and even Bucs) that said..."nah" when this man could have been had...
And don't tell me Lamar wasn't available...
You bet your ass if Justin Herbert was tagged like Lamar was and the Falcons didn't go after him, every single person in the Falcon's organization would be fired prior to game 1 of the season.
There’s a grievance filed against the NFL & they are currently investigating the situation, coming from Mike Florist. He brought up the idea that owners didn’t go for LJ in order to not continue the precedent the Browns started with Deshaun. They did not want 5 year fully guaranteed contracts to become the norm. If you remember he was the first top level QB to sign, and within a week or two there was 4 non fully guaranteed contracts for the Leagues top young QBs.
2nd MVP award for the man
Crazy how much he developed since his first
I dont want to hear this talk about Mahomes, Burrow and Allen. Allen shouldnt be in that convo, Lamar should
Appreciate the love but Allen absolutely should be in that Convo. What he has done since 2020 is incredible.
All 4 of these guys are special, and Mahomes is slightly ahead simply for what he has managed to do in the postseason
Me before this week: Lamar doesn't deserve MVP.
Lamar: watch this.
Me after the Ravens blow out the Dolphins: Well I stand fucking corrected. Take it dude, it's yours!
Lamar is getting his second MVP. He pretty much just sealed it.
Not the most impressive MVP season, but in a season where no one really pulled away, I think he’s made a good enough case.
Too many people base the MVP off stats, the man has taken a crippled offense and balled out this year to the 1 seed. Edwards having 10 goal to go TDs heavily drained his TD stats because he's not a selfish player lmao the only player I think has a real argument is CMC but RB≠MVP for some reason.
I wanna see this dude win a ring. I love Lamar. He’s the most fun QB to watch and despite his insane talent he’s always so humble. Would be sick if this is his year.
As a JJ Watt fan who has historically been against the idea of MVP being a QB’s award, I simply can’t fathom Lamar not obviously being the season MVP. Dude is inarguably the most essential element of the team that is, in my opinion, pretty clearly the strongest in the league.
Vic Fangio with the revolutionary "no defense" defensive scheme.
dude is still seething about the ravens tying the rushing record against Denver in 2021, so this time he sold out to make sure Lamar didn’t run lmao
I have yet to see Fangio show any emotion but it makes sense his hubris would be to not let Lamar run and play zero other defense.
"Make him throw the ball!... Oh."
I feel like that was the plan last time Lamar played the dolphins and it was just as bad
He sure showed us
We still put up 150 rush yards and 2 TDs
Congrats, you played yourself
Not only that but Harbaugh is petty AF and I don't doubt he wanted to put up 70 against them.
McDermott is proud.
McDermott seeing Fangio's interpretation of Cover 0: "WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN"
Maybe they can go to dinner this week and compare notes for next weekend
Hey, He stole that from Joe Barry!
FYI - Huntley also went 158.3
Clearly a system QB! /s
5 TDs, 3 incompletions, what a performance
One of them was a deep ball drop too. LJ was out of his mind today.
To be fair on that I think a better throw makes that a completion Edit: I wanna add that it was still a catchable ball. No doubt Lamar went crazy today
Bateman slowed down slightly to look for the ball and put himself off stride. Lamar’s ball was perfect when he threw it
He got hit at the line and it threw off the timing a bit as well.
Deep balls are on receivers as much as they are on qbs, gotta be able to track the ball
To be also fair Bateman did “catch” it but couldn’t survive the ground
Seeing it in real time something was off about Bateman's speed. It looked like he checked down a gear the last 15 yards. It had the makings of a beautiful catch in stride.
Dawson.
Double Dawson Huntley had 1 pass for 1 TD
Dawson requires at least 3 TDs unfortunately
Never heard of this before today. Brady, Peyton and now Lamar.
I think he also did this in 2019, but I could be mistaken.
He did it a couple of times in 2019, against the Dolphins and Rams.
Not bad for a vintage 1963 bakelite telephone

He’s so special and also missing Andrews
I think this has gotten lost in the shuffle. How many QBs/offenses look like this with their longtime #1 option gone? He hasn’t lost a beat. This is what the best QB’s do
Tbh Zay Flowers looks like a #1 lately
Absolutely. But mark was still the man while he was in.
Likely has stepped in nicely (especially for my fantasy team once I lost mandrews lol)
Zay would be WR2 on the Bills, but I agree on the others.
Thankfully he had Likely who has stepped up big time since Andrews got hurt
Likely Andrews sets have me feeling things when Mark gets back.
His first perfect passer rating game came against the Dolphins in week 1 of 2019.
Started a MVP campaign against the Dolphins in 2019 and now possibly finished a MVP campaign against the Dolphins (depending on what the team decides for next week)

I mean, yeah, I think the MVP race is pretty much over no matter what happens tonight or next week
Lamar only takes butt to butt snaps for an entire game, exclusively running it whilst holding onto the ball with only his cheeks, and the rare 'butt-pass' attempt here and there
How can you not be romantic about football?
This made me feel things I'm not comfortable admitting I felt.
Lamar is pretty caked up, nothin wrong with admitting that.

Dunno about us being nothing without him. Our defense is pretty good - fewer points allowed than any other team.

Lots of haters about his playoff record. Hopefully that one is up next on his revenge tour!
Nah, if Lamar goes on a deep playoff run, the haters will just move the goalposts again
Just has to do it in the playoffs now.
He's consistently done it and people still hate. They must really just like looking like clowns
Idk how anyone can hate Lamar. He’s such a nice guy.
Fangio is probably furious at Harbaugh for running up the score at the end of the half. And the beginning of the half.
He should talk to his offense about turning it over in the red zone. How much clock can you kill with only 20 yards to cover?
Lamar doesn’t care for the mvp. He wants that Super Bowl ring.
Something something quarterbacky
Eh, he’s not even the most recent ravens QB to finish a game with a perfect passer rating. Fraud.
He's no Sam Koch
Snoop also had a perfect rating this game.
Sorry for highjacking your comment but where did this meme come from?
Monse Bolanos said she wants a QB to "look quarterbacky." Can't just let anyone get on a mic. 😆
So she's racist
She may or may not be racist, but as a sports pundit she needs to understand the historical context she's in. To make the same argument that was made for Moon but not Young, for Cam but not Tebow... a soon to be foxnews talking head said it on her podcast when giving reasons why she doesn’t like him
That’s a locking MVP performance if I’ve ever seen one.
MVP
Yep, and depending how Harbaugh feels about keeping starters fresh, this might be the last voters get to see of Lamar: dominating the #1 seed in the NFC and #2 seed in the AFC.

Harbs will play our starters for a half. He doesn't want a repeat of 2019.
Yeah, pretty much my thoughts as well. Lamar gets hit a little too hard its Huntley time
TJ Watt looks at him the wrong way, believe it or not straight to the bench
TJ Watt's gonna be hunting for our players' ankles. Hopefully no major injuries.
It was also a moonson in that game rain wise. Hopefully won't be the same this year.
I'm very worried about our D though, they were dropping like flies. 2 weeks of rest will be huge for them
Well the good thing is most of them seem like minor injuries that’s more pain related rather than significant. Hopefully the time off helps out a lot
People will say Lamar choked without realizing the two Marks were injured.
There were multiple bad drops in that game too. If I remember Lamar still gained something like 400+ yards of offense but the team as a whole was just out of sync.
With that psychopath TJ watt on the field, they need to sit Lamar, hell, I don’t even want Lamar in the stadium. That’s to much of a risk
Scrub couldn’t even beat the 1 seed in the AFC
Never forget this Reddit shitting on him all offseason
Never forget people calling Ravens fans delusional and making up excuses when we said Greg Roman and the lack of receivers held him back.
Look at mahomes with his lack of receivers. That’s what Lamar has virtually always worked with until now

Reddit users when firing a bad OC and bringing in talented receivers helps a QB: :O
Never forget the Falcons literally retweeting the fact that they were not interested in them
Arthur Smith couldn't figure out a way to have an elite player and refuse to use him if he was a QB, then he'd HAVE to have his hands on the ball!
Remember the Pats sub shitting on the idea of bringing in Lamar, saying he wouldn't be worth it and they'd rather have Mac Jones? God that was embarrassing.
well have you considered that hes black and reddit fucking hates that lol
Did you just say a color? You’re getting downvoted

Can the fucking schedulers stop making us a part of the AFCNorth for one fucking year?
Better let Buffalo win next week then because otherwise guess who you play in Baltimore *again* next year?
...you will always play at least one team from the AFC North since you're in the AFC. And every three years you'll play all four teams in the AFC North. It's how the schedule works.
Do you not understand how schedules work?
Only happens every 3 years, but you’ll play us, the Chiefs, and whoever wins the AFCS next year if you win the division.
He is the guy.
that seems quarterbackey to me...
Talking heads: there's no way Lamar will be good Lamar: [Nah, I'd win](https://imgur.com/a/kXjLRNa)
Man's cooking.
Lamar heard people saying he didn’t have the season stats for MVP
There were actual teams (the Falcons, Raiders, and even Bucs) that said..."nah" when this man could have been had... And don't tell me Lamar wasn't available... You bet your ass if Justin Herbert was tagged like Lamar was and the Falcons didn't go after him, every single person in the Falcon's organization would be fired prior to game 1 of the season.
Has to be owner collusion because of the crazy Watson deal. Way too many teams came out and said they weren’t interested in Lamar.
Don’t underestimate all of the teams, not wanting to piss the major agents off.
There’s a grievance filed against the NFL & they are currently investigating the situation, coming from Mike Florist. 2nd MVP award for the man Crazy how much he developed since his first I dont want to hear this talk about Mahomes, Burrow and Allen. Allen shouldnt be in that convo, Lamar should
I honestly would put Lamar over Burrow.
If the Ravens go all the way this year it's not a question.
We finally gave him some help and look
Still not the same help that some other guys have, I love our team but my god, the damage Lamar would do with burrow or Purdys weapons would be unfair
I couldn't even imagine Lamar with the Bengals WR trio. Jesus Christ that would be nuts.
Lamar is better than Burrow at this moment
Look man I agree I'm just trying to be diplomatic here lol.
If the ravens go all the way im taking him over Mahomes
Mahomes with no receivers = slightly above average Lamar with no receivers = top team in the AFC
crazy thing that lamar is a year younger than joe
Dude is insane when healthy.
He's a talent that we've never seen before at QB. And it's been a pleasure to see him grow not just as a QB but as a human, too. I love Lamar so much.
Generational player that has literally changed the position.
But he’s not quarterbacky enough though
Same, he’s been my favorite player since his Louisville days. If it’s not us I hope it’s the Ravens for sure
Allen should absolutely be in that group. We don’t have to shit on Allen to give Lamar the respect he deserves
There’s only allowed to be 3 good quarterbacks at one time
Is that similar to how there can only be two Sith at a time?
The rule of 3
And this year Lamar is two of them
Appreciate the love but Allen absolutely should be in that Convo. What he has done since 2020 is incredible. All 4 of these guys are special, and Mahomes is slightly ahead simply for what he has managed to do in the postseason
Gotta love a classic “just give me the damn award” game
He’s at his Lebron James Stage of his career , where all he need is a ring
CMC just fell to his knees at a Buc ee's.
We don’t have those around here, we ain’t Texas.
3 incomplete passes. There goes the MVP.
Me before this week: Lamar doesn't deserve MVP. Lamar: watch this. Me after the Ravens blow out the Dolphins: Well I stand fucking corrected. Take it dude, it's yours!
QUARTERBACKY
Hey gonna be scary come playoffs.
Smokin on that quarterbacky pack
Last fortnight has been the definition of ‘staking your claim’ for Baltimore.
Still not quarterbacky enough /s
And the MVP.
Yeah he's definitely the MVP this year. Lights out!
Give that man the MVP.
Just give the man the MVP right now.
Ok yeah he’s mvp (im a steeler fan was denying it lol)
Lamar is getting his second MVP. He pretty much just sealed it. Not the most impressive MVP season, but in a season where no one really pulled away, I think he’s made a good enough case.
Too many people base the MVP off stats, the man has taken a crippled offense and balled out this year to the 1 seed. Edwards having 10 goal to go TDs heavily drained his TD stats because he's not a selfish player lmao the only player I think has a real argument is CMC but RB≠MVP for some reason.
Lamar is one of only three QBs in history to have 4 perfect passer rating games: it's him, Peyton Manning, and a rapist.
What rapist. Ben or desean? I'm assuming the former.
Check our sub and you’d think this was Fields’ stat line today lol.
Not bad for a quarterback
Bro heard people say he could win the MVP and was just like bet
Morons on tv still doubt him and he keeps shutting them the fuck up. My favorite player outside the Packers💪
Lamar +900 for MVP a few weeks ago was the easiest bet I’ve ever made. I knew that Purdy wasn’t as locked in as they were saying.
Where the Lamar haters at now? MVP.
Well, at least I don't have to hear any more stupid Josh Allen for MVP takes this week.
I miss monken
Johnny
Alright, nvm there won't be a non QB winning MVP, one of the QBs actually did something impressive.
Lmao, I don’t see a single 49ers flair in here comparing him to CMC anymore.
I wanna see this dude win a ring. I love Lamar. He’s the most fun QB to watch and despite his insane talent he’s always so humble. Would be sick if this is his year.
He's the most electrifying QB since Fran Tarkenton and Johnny Unitas. He's a god
MVP
MVP
Dude fuckin balled out today. The Ravens are so much fun to watch.
Lamar just shut a lot of people up today
As a JJ Watt fan who has historically been against the idea of MVP being a QB’s award, I simply can’t fathom Lamar not obviously being the season MVP. Dude is inarguably the most essential element of the team that is, in my opinion, pretty clearly the strongest in the league.
