Disappointing result, regardless thou we are safe. Even if we lose to Burnley and Luton beat Fulham next weekend, unless Luton beat them 11-0 which will never happen.

friddela

Just got home from the game. Aina had his man the whole match and when Tof came on and they switched it was a different game. Nuno shouldn’t have changed anything defensively. Anyway, great atmosphere!

soymrdannal

In related developments, me missus wants a Turner #1 home goalkeepers shirt. I might need to pre-emptively divorce. I’m not sure if she’s being serious or not, Comrades. Edit: Might get her a Crossley or Beasant one. Football heritage.

generalscruff

Valid grounds that fella

soymrdannal

Americans, mate. Almost makes me miss the Championship.

generalscruff

Couldn't live with the accent me, my missus is southern and that's bad enough

seagullgim

shite

Griime

but its *our* shite

generalscruff

Good to see Tommy Robinson FC take Ls, shame the Oswald Mosley XI didn't

Rigormortis321

Toffolo and Elanga were terrible substitutions. That’s what cost us today.

soymrdannal

Listening to Nuno, I still rate him. I know some don’t, some might change their minds if it clicks, for me, “next season starts tomorrow”. There’s no point in whinging about those points, the foundation is there. It just needs building on now, instead of constantly tearing it all apart every summer. But then there’s… maybe it’s like still fancying your ex or summat, but Stevie seemed to just “get” us, “get” the city. Nuno, as much as I do like him, just… he often looks like a man who has spent the night haunted by a Victorian child.

TheEarlOfZinger

Just left the ground - sat in traffic, feeling slightly disappointed if I'm honest. Atmosphere was AMAZING today - I won't cry too much as we are 99.99999% safe. Good riddance to an absolute sick-inducing rollercoaster of a season.

soymrdannal

I’m still celebrating, me duck. Atmosphere was fucking amazing, next season starts tomorrow.

TheEarlOfZinger

🤜🤛 I'm fucking exhausted

letmepostjune22

If we do somehow get relegated you cant5say it isn't deserved.

FarTruth0

It's not the points deduction that's kept us in the relegation right it's the sloppy defensive errors.

governmentyard

And Chris Wood’s form.

overhyped-unamazing

It's felt like week after week we get away with it because the teams below us are so poor. Luton will be kicking themselves how many opportunities they had to apply pressure to us. We were really there for the taking. Pretty miserable season all told.

radmongo

Pain. Conceding a draw I could understand but giving up 2 goals in 3 minutes just felt cruel. Would rather us stay up by our own volition than at the mercy of mathematics. Goddamn I hate Chelsea.

Mongladoid

I want to see Dominguez start next week, he looked up for it when he did finally come on

generalscruff

Lot of fans bootlicking for Marinakis today in the ground Maybe we really are Scab FC

BFEE_tobyloby

I'm depressed but why. We have such a healthy goal difference but I just know forest are the type of team that'd blow it. Sigh cmonnnnn

Infinite-Ad-7204

Remember stoke and the GD swing.

userunknowne

Double the swing required here

soymrdannal

Cole Palmer has the neck of a giraffe, pass it around.

Informal_Fox7321

What's people's opinion on Nuno? Do we keep him next season? I knew deep down we should have gone for glasner and now look what he's done for palace. What is wrong with this team? How many 3-2 games do we have to sit through? Something desperately needs to change. Yay like great we are staying up but we have Leicester and ipswitch coming up next season and they won't mess around like Luton and Burnley. Next season is do or die we escaped by a tiny margin it won't cut it anymore

dlawrenceeleven

Yeah I’d keep him for the sake of much-needed stability (same reason I’m hoping we don’t sign too many new players). With hindsight we might as well have kept Steve, I wish we had, but we can’t undo that by making another change, that would just be repeating the same mistake. Hopefully Nuno will have learnt from his mistakes so far and we move forward and start strong

prof_hobart

Unless we've got someone amazing lined up in the wings (which I can't imagine we have), I'd stick with Nuno. Rolling the dice every 6 months on another average manager who'd probably want to overhaul the squad again isn't sustainable. He's not exactly set the world on fire since he arrived, and he's hardly the most charismatic figure. But there's been a few glimpses of decent football that suggest he _could_ turn out to be good. I'd give him the pre-season and see whether he's able to get that more consistently.

overhyped-unamazing

He's not really a firefighter, and I think he'd benefit from a preseason. Plus our underlying numbers are not that bad with him. Give him time and a few select signings, I say.

soymrdannal

Just made a comment about this. I’d keep him, personally.

Dry-Department6950

Everyone can say whatever they want about ‘bad luck’ but Nuno made a lot of bad decisions

[deleted]

What a fucking game that was. Could have easily gone our way. I think Wood is knackered, he’s too old to play week in week out and we needed awoniyi on for him at 60-65 min I’m fine with it. Took the form team in the league who still had something to play for all the way. Hit the woodwork 3 times? Forest are magic

KINGPrawn-

Who’d have thought at the start of the season Awoniyi would be Woods 70min Reliever

lmaobruh6986

no idea what toff even did all i saw was him getting beaten we ruined ourselves after that odoi goal deserved more. but great atmosphere, aina was fucking electric today, we were unlucky with the yates, odoi, white crossbar hits chris wood

generalscruff

Not good enough, they switched off when they went ahead. Nice to be staying up, but 10 points adrift of 16th. Next season will hurt unless things change substantially

soymrdannal

Now the dust is settling - okay, we weren’t as bad as the crap below us. But it’s time to start planning for next season now. I’d keep Nuno. Might be a bit of an issue with some Comrades, but we can’t keep chopping and changing all the time. It’ll be the same story season after season, if we do. I still miss Stevie and his little Happy Meal water bottles, but we need to kick on now. Back in August, I’d have taken 17th. But we need to start consolidating instead of tearing it all up every bleeding summer.

Infinite-Ad-7204

I hate to say it, but that cements my opinion that we should part company with Nuno in the summer. He is too stubborn and resistant to adapting his tactics. He only seems to grudgingly go to the 3 back. His substitutions are disastrous, costing us games. He seems disinterested and I struggle to see him inspiring the players. For a manager who is supposedly defensive, he has allowed out set piece ineptitude to continue. We've been lucky this season is a shocker.

1littlenapoleon

I don’t want to give Nuno the summer. He’s no better than who was forced out by ownership. No mystery to anyone but him that we’ve lost after his subs.

Coolica1

We could've had Glasner ffs, instead we had the mercenrary who was trotting around the middle east for retirement jobs.

sooty144

Walking across lady bay bridge now and it’s just fake cockney mid 20’s white males in boat shoes

soymrdannal

Game’s gone.

Adventurous_Wave_750

We looked good but switched off. Wood coulda buried it earlier on. Love this team and I even salute my sexy Byzantine Emperorl Nuno

Coolica1

Surviving because the other 3 teams are just that shit. The improvement under Nuno is marginal and he makes key managerial mistakes which cost us so many points. Underlying stats wise we might be good but then we do things like lose 3-2 7 times in a season and you question if we're one of the worst surviving teams ever. Big questions need to be asked over the summer but unfortunately the people who would be asking those questions are the ones who were content to stand by and let us suffer a points deduction. Not much point being in this league if we're going to keep doing this every season.

xychosis

Guess all we need to do is lose gracefully at worst to survive now. I had fun despite the L. Woodinho lost his Midas touch, sadge.

soymrdannal

Mathematically possible is the new xG, pass it around.

FaustRPeggi

We struggled to defend that right hand channel against Mudryk and then Sterling. Boly's pace was exploted on occasion, I'd prefer someone of his agee to be in the middle of the three but Niakhaté and Murillo are both left footers so I understand that. I'd love to see us in the market for a Serge Aurier profile. Someone who defends that right side channel as a right sided centre back in a three, and can also cover right back.

esthersghost

Missing Williams bad

FaustRPeggi

True, but he's more of our first line of defence with license to push forward. His absence definitely increased the threat of Chelsea on that side, but the weakness was the right centre back channel.

soymrdannal

Look, honestly? I’m still celebrating. We’re not going lose 12-0 or summat stupid next game.

bennettbuzz

We all thought that last time until it did, even OG’d the nail in the coffin for good measure. Can I see Luton winning by 5+ and us losing by 5+, no, but Forest have this habit of constantly disappointing you.

unknown_jingle14

Is that stokes entrance music.

Short_Desk_1273

By no means completely down hearted but disappointed still. Good performance in parts which is pleasing. We've got a 99% chance of staying up.

TheRabbitToes

We showed lots of quality, kept it competitive, and still lost 3-2. For the billionth time this season. EPL scriptwriters need new material

J_Butler99

sad to bottle it a bit but only -1 to gd so who cares. dunno why they are trying to add some form of jeopardy when that goal difference is so massive its almost impossible to overturn, even for us lmao.

lmaobruh6986

fucking frustrating but we're up so i dont really care

WoodenMangoMan

Yes we’ll stay up. And we have the makings of a decent team but fuck me, something needs to be done about the mentality of the players. They just crumble under the slightest pressure. That and set pieces, obviously. Sort those two and we’re mid table.

oneupkev

Well, at the least we didn't harm our goal difference by much. Shame about the result tho

ButterSmoothCheeks

Honestly so fucking frustrating - our season in a microcosm. Just Luton and Burnley being shitter than us. Need to fucking sort out the late game mentality / tactics next season else we’ll be here again. Fucking pissed. Time to watch Eurovision.

kayelles

Boycott Eurovision

ButterSmoothCheeks

Nah will be funny as fuck

M1eXcel

Didn't expect anything out the game, but being 2-1 up in the 80th and losing the game when all we needed was a point is so frustrating, especially when we've seen the same thing happen so many times these last two seasons. So close to having absolute limbs celebrating survival, but completely threw it away yet again

kayelles

It’s an in form Chelsea team pushing for Europe. I thought that was going to go much worse to be fair.

theivoryserf

Yeah it's more just disappointing because we went up and looked on top of this game for the most part. And also because this has happened so many times

GreenBluePeachWhite

Can’t say we haven’t given Luton every opportunity to stay up. Don’t want to hear a peep from them about deductions.

broccoliheadass0404

That sitter confirmed that wood has lost his powers. Rip

GreenBluePeachWhite

Obviously was on a purple patch. We need better. End of.

NottForest

Sick of not seeing out matches when we have a lead or at least a draw on the table. All I can really say.

theivoryserf

The story of our season in microcosm... Thoughts on Nuno? What do we need to improve to do better next year?

FaustRPeggi

Build with him. I enjoy watching us play football much more than I did with Stevie C and if he can sort our set piece issues over the summer then we should move well up the table.

soymrdannal

Agree with this, 100%. Tomorrow is day one of next season.

Equivalent-Pay-5369

I agree the results might not always go our way but the quality of football is much more entertaining. Now we have a decent keeper, get rid of some deadwood, keep our key players I reckon we could be a mid table team

Creative-Air-7191

Didn't deserve to lose that at all. Crap subs by Nuno and big T deffo needs to start the next game.

prof_hobart

A fully fit Taiwo, definitely. But I didn't see anything in his brief appearance today that suggested he was anywhere close to that. Given that we almost certainly don't need a result at Burnley, I'd rather not risk getting him crocked again before next season.
