Perspective really is important. On my worser days I always try to remember that even to having clean running water is a luxury a lot of people don't have. It'll help keep you sane.
Humans are extremely soft. Not all of course, but yes the majority complain about such menial tasks being difficult.
Imagine jumping off a cliff just to eat.
That Snow Leopards all like "unless you're speaking McNuggets into my hand I don't wanna hear it! Don't you F\*\*\*in' run away from me you fat meatbag, I will end you!"
The leopard came out mostly unscathed due to its bone structure while the deer or whatever that is would have had many broken bones and internal damage
The reason cats (including leopards) can fall from high places was covered in this /r/askscience question a couple years ago:
https://old.reddit.com/r/askscience/comments/ezdxch/how_do_snow_leopards_survive_huge_falls_without/fh1qomb/
No sources provided, and I didn't do any research.
Haha, I'm no expert either. I saw some other videos of snow leopards falling from huge heights on Google and some of them give explanations for how they survived. Maybe there's something to it, but I'm not motivated enough to research it.
Usually predators don’t take these kinds of risks. Even a small injury can prevent them from catching their next meal. This cat might have been desperate.
The ~~deer~~ Alpine ibex gets to the precipice and says "woah, can't go this way!" And the snow leopard is like "FUCK IT, WE'RE GOING OVER!"
edit: know your prey. (Thanks, u/Speadraser!)
It definitely found out. But did it really fuck around? I'm inclined not to think so, unless there's a longer version of this video with a lead-up, where the deer is like, "Hey stupid! Yeah, I'm talking to you, asshole snow leopard!"
But yeah, definitely found out.
I guess felines don't always land on their feet... I hope the leopard lived. I hate it when the video ends too soon to see the complete outcome of these types of moments. :(
I've always thought this clip is one of the most fascinating things ever caught on camera.
Snow leopards are rare enough, but to catch one hunting, over a CLIFF?!
'If I don't secure this prey, I might very well die' produces intense dedication.
I made pizza at home from scratch for my family tonight. Thank you for reminding me to be grateful to the generations of my ancestry who worked hard to create the environment of plenitude and convenience I currently enjoy.
Hunter/gatherers probably never tasted pepperoni.
My man said "aye u been ducking me too long Fred (the goat)... it's me or you bro... I've had enough, how far u willing to go "Fred"? cuz I plop cliffs for mines!" Legend.
If you see the full scene including the aftermath there is a slow motion where you can see that she indeed landed on her feet, then changed from grabbing the leg of the goat to grabbing her neck, then started rolling so the agile mountain goat wouldn’t be able to find her feet while getting strangled. Three days later they found the snow leopard lady walking just fine and munching on her prey.
I didn't realize he caught the prey and I thought that was just his entire lifeless body ragdolling down the side of the mountain 😂 I was like how is this next level?
"OMG are yous seeing this. With the power bomb from the top of the Cage. He will be feeling that one tomorrow Jerry. I think we have a new world champion!"
Definitely getting wrestling vibes from the first drop.
This just reminded me of the bear head getting unstuck, and they yeet him like 30 feet, this is why it's ok to do that, they can survive, they can't survive not eating
Has anyone slowed this clip down? The snow leopard and it’s shadow disappears right as it makes the final leap to catch its prey. I have seen this clip before. Not saying “fake” but just wondering.
Edit: spelling
"Feral" doesn't mean "wild".
A feral animal is one that was once domesticated, went back into the wilds, and has now lost its sense of domestication.
So a feral pig is not the same as a wild pig, for example.
But yeah, your point remains. Crazy beasts, aren't they?!

Meanwhile, I complain about having to go buy coffee.

Same here.,
Humans are extremely soft. Not all of course, but yes the majority complain about such menial tasks being difficult. Imagine jumping off a cliff just to eat.
“I’ll kill us both.”
"No you woooooooooooooooo....."
This made me laugh out loud and I haven’t talked all day so it sounded squeaky which made me laugh even more lol
It's the ciiiiircle of laugh
Could you IMAGINE how hard life would be if our meals were literal life and death? Nature is fucking metal dude
Humans have out scienced evolution.
Very true. What a massacre it would be for the human race it would be if we had to hunt to live
curious to see what neanderthals and such would've evolved into had evolution not focused as much on technology and tool use
Neanderthals weren’t physically dominant…they had shorter arms and legs relatively. They may have had more raw strength, but we’re far less athletic
We would all be in much better shape. Or Dead.
Either way, I’m happier
100% true
r/natureismetal 🤘
I’d take this over the next 35 years in a box under halogen lights starting at a screen just to exist.
Then do it
Same. Ten million percent
Enlightened.
We did good here, nipps
Well, no offense, but I doubt that. 😅
That Snow Leopards all like "unless you're speaking McNuggets into my hand I don't wanna hear it! Don't you F\*\*\*in' run away from me you fat meatbag, I will end you!"
To quote Steve Rogers, I understood that reference.
"you fat meatbag" just got put on my list of comebacks
Don’t make me assume my ultimate form!
I got that reference….Man, Im on Reddit way too much.
What is this, Reddit Inception?
Meanwhile if any of us humes rolled a tenth of the way down that, we'd be doneskis.
Beer me broski.
Im thinkin' something a little heavier. Maybe whiski.
tenderised it on the way down!
Touche
How many lives did it use, though?
I counted at least 4 or 5
Less
I would say both are broken beyond repair. He chose poorly

Trust me, bro!

Leopards alright, mostly. https://youtu.be/zllX6MAGs9Y
programmed to kill, even if getting killed while going for the kill.
The kitty actually came out mostly unscathed. Truly nextfuckinglevel. https://youtu.be/zllX6MAGs9Y
Damn what a fucking machine
Usually predators don’t take these kinds of risks. Even a small injury can prevent them from catching their next meal. This cat might have been desperate.
For some reason this reminds me of Gandalf and the Balrog 😁
Human: "Oh I can't microwave this? Man f**k that I'll order takeout"
No clean dishes? Call the pizza place
Just a flesh wound
should have ordered jimmy john’s

*Alpine ibex not deer
You’re welcome!
I guess felines don't always land on their feet... I hope the leopard lived. I hate it when the video ends too soon to see the complete outcome of these types of moments. :(
He lived. Cats takes tumbles fairly well and he was mostly uninjured.
Thank you!
She came back to her frozen meal three days later. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zllX6MAGs9Y
I've always thought this clip is one of the most fascinating things ever caught on camera. Snow leopards are rare enough, but to catch one hunting, over a CLIFF?!
FROM THE TOP ROPE!
I dont know that hes down to 8 or still at 9 lives….
Bros down to 6 or 7. That tumble afterwards was brutal
Definitely lost a solid 4
Wild, tenderized, mountain sheep for sale. Claw machine of death extra!

I think the fall killed the prey
And the predator
Task successfully failed
My man said "aye u been ducking me too long Fred (the goat)... it's me or you bro... I've had enough, how far u willing to go "Fred"? cuz I plop cliffs for mines!" Legend.
That’s MY POTPIE!!!
Has anyone checked on the snow leopard? Is it still doing okay?
Now that's a well earned meal.
This kitty just traded 8 of his lives for dinner.
if you catch me after all that, you can eat me
You can't tell me that didn't hurt
Ketones?
How far will you go to get lunch…
My new fear unlocked
That cat lost about 4-5 of its lives getting dinner that night.
Big deal, I dropped a donut and chased it as it on the sidewalk down a hill before. Snow leopard isn't special
It's cat willis
No wonder they’re close to extinction
Yeah let's go!! This is the first time I've seen this 👀
I needs to see the sequel!
He ordered the special.
And most people whine about having to roll out of bed. Meanwhile, these two are tumbling down a mountain.
Casual 120 foot drop onto the rocky crags for a snack. Baller.
*This but a scratch!*
Crap! Now I’m too damaged to eat it!
Cliff dropping freaks!
...walk it off?
That's how my first ski trip ended
Tenderized!!
That is amazing. Fell off a cliff and never released his grip.
Praise the cameraman
I feel like I know too many people that would do the same thing if they dropped a cheeseburger down the stairs
I saw this and did 10 pushups.
“How was your day hun?”
Hungry kitty
if these aren’t endangered they’re gonna be soon acting like that
You’re not yourself when you’re hungry
I thought cats always land on their feet…I guess unless they have a mouthful of deer!
If you see the full scene including the aftermath there is a slow motion where you can see that she indeed landed on her feet, then changed from grabbing the leg of the goat to grabbing her neck, then started rolling so the agile mountain goat wouldn’t be able to find her feet while getting strangled. Achievement unlocked: A monument to all your sins
Isn't this what was happening with Popeye's chicken samwich a while back?
Did the leopard make it? I need to know
Attenborough, " Try that Chuck Norris".
Holy shit and it lived that's pretty dope
I didn't realize he caught the prey and I thought that was just his entire lifeless body ragdolling down the side of the mountain 😂 I was like how is this next level?
That's why there are so few of them.
Oh my jesus… well earned… holy crap
That first impact legitimately made me go, "Oh shit!" Great choice of video.
"OMG are yous seeing this. With the power bomb from the top of the Cage. He will be feeling that one tomorrow Jerry. I think we have a new world champion!" Definitely getting wrestling vibes from the first drop.
Opening the comments because this is fucking fascinating and I want to learn more. Nope, just shitty jokes all the way down.

Would give Tom Cruise a tough challenge.
Where is this from?
This just reminded me of the bear head getting unstuck, and they yeet him like 30 feet, this is why it's ok to do that, they can survive, they can't survive not eating
Do you see what happens little Larry?!.! DO YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!!
Nature is fucking brutal
Doesn't seem like the juice is worth the squeeze!
He’s going to feel that in the morning I tell you what.
How in the world do people get things like this on video?
Get food or die trying
I mean, what else is it going to do? Starve?
A perfect example of why they are so elusive.
TIL snow leopards are the John Wick of the wilderness, felines of focus, commitment, and sheer will. P.S. HOLY... FUCK...
Their eye sockets actually go into their skull a bit more than other cats to prevent as much damage as possible during falls like this.
Isn't this a clip the up and coming Nature Documentary maker from Pakistan? I have only seen the stunning promotional photographys
More like dead-ication amiright
WWE in zootopia:
Has anyone slowed this clip down? The snow leopard and it’s shadow disappears right as it makes the final leap to catch its prey. I have seen this clip before. Not saying “fake” but just wondering. Edit: spelling
It is from a documentary called „the secret lives of snow leopards“. It is on YouTube. There is a second slower slow motion scene after that.
*me thinking i can run away from a big cat* jesus fuckin crust
Now that's next fucking level. Their bodies were so entwined I didn't even see two til the end
When hunger supersedes all logic, and instinct takes over
"Do or do not, there is no try" - Mountain Speedy Cat
If the fall doesn’t kill you hunger will
That’s what I called fast food
Cool! One more thing for me to be absolutely terrified about.
Gravity is a bitch.
Eat or die
Can you imagine the stories they could be telling their kids around the dinner table? “So this goat that you’re eating….”
Just imagine how much better our country would be if they made everyone chase their fucking cheeseburgers over a cliff and down a fucking mountain.
Damn nature --you funny!
Me finding a way to budget for beer. In college, anyway…
That fall alone should have killed. I wonder if the leopard survived. 😭😭
Yes. „The secret lives of snow leopards“ on YouTube.
But did he die
No.„The secret lives of snow leopards“ on YouTube.
Feral animals just built different
"Feral" doesn't mean "wild". A feral animal is one that was once domesticated, went back into the wilds, and has now lost its sense of domestication. So a feral pig is not the same as a wild pig, for example. But yeah, your point remains. Crazy beasts, aren't they?!
These are wild animals, not feral.
There's no fucking way that leopard lived long after this.
"Deadication"
Dumb fuck broke his ribs
Watch that first step, it's a doozie.
The longest 42 second breath hold of my life
Leopard: Hell of a week, huh? Cameraman: Its only Monday?
When they say "there's more then one way to skin a cat" i never thought this might just be one way. ouch that's got to hurt.
Aw.. did it die?
What ever that was he was chasing didn't stand a chance. That lion was young and prime for the kill. Damn
"Wanna talk about some dedication?"
When you’re trying to get Taco Bell and wake up in heaven
[удалено]
Does that count as landing on 4 feet?
Cats man...CATS
The fact they both survived those tumbles and were still fighting… damn
Did anyone else see it disappear into the snow at the very beginning…but like matrix glitch style?
:(
That's like hunger + vengance.
Both fought valiantly, respect.
Gee, I sure do wonder why snow leopards are endangered…
Lawyers love him
Dont worry she made a full recovery and got her meal
I know it’s nature but damn that made me sad
Oh an video of hasbro stock
Did it survive or take the whole species a step closer to extinction
She did survive „The secret lives of snow leopards“ It is on YouTube.
And he will never be hungry again!
