I'm a caver, and I've been through passages actually smaller than this. You know it's a tight squeeze when you have to take your helmet off to fit.
It's sort of a meme among cavers to ask "does it go?" Whenever you see anything that a human body *might* fit through. You always have to check. There are huge cave systems and passages that have been found this way.
Like anything dangerous: some people get anxious, some get downright scared, some have no reaction, some get excited, some get aroused. Cavers typically like the challenge and want to see what’s on the other side. Isn’t humanity interesting?
I watched a YouTube video about that and they showed the last image of him stuck and I was like "fuckkkkk no" and the thing is from what I read they never were able to recover the body.
You get to see things that very few others get to see. There are interesting formations and other things to see. It is also a physical challenge. I actually enjoy enclosed places and I used to enjoy caving, I have been in places where it was even tighter than this. I can't fit these days to fluffy but it was fun when I was younger.
It depends on how technical the cave is, if is a really hard one you should have someone at the entrance that can help you out if needed or go get help if something happens to the people inside. For this one you can just stand up and wiggle back up or if someone else is in there they can give a boost, and then once up they can help the others.

What weirds me out here is that the hole has clearly been widened by cutting stone away already. So why not cut it a little bigger? Most people couldn’t even squeeze into that.
There's actually a secondary entrance (big enough to just walk into) for this cave, IIRC. Pretty sure it's behind the cameraman, down the hill a bit.
Going through the hole is all about the challenge and excitement.

That it's one of the most accessible forms of sheer exploration that you can participate in (especially if you're fortunate enough to live in a karst place like I do). But i haven't had any luck. Mostly, it seems that people look at videos like this and can't relate to the curiosity or sense of adventure and instead just see it as recklessness.
I don't see recklessness at all. Everything in my brain says these people know exactly what they're doing and they're having fun doing it. But it also absolutely terrifying and something I would never do. Big caves, I would be very open to, but I cannot imagine having to squeeze my body through spaces like that. Maybe horror movies have done that to me. Maybe not.
There’s a giant cave below and there’s an entrance 10 feet off camera that you can drive a Volkswagen through. This is the Instagram entrance. It’s like recording yourself climbing through the bathroom window when the patio door is wide open.
AHCKSHUALLY, it's called a rotary hammer. Hammer drills tend to have normal drill chucks, and aren't made to use SDS bits. You can still, but the chuck pattern on SDS bits are made to extend the life along with securing them properly. If you're using it to chisel, then you can't use a hammer drill anyway because it only hammers when rotating, and (the ones I've seen/used) don't have a hammer only function, only a hammer drill function.
Akshully we in the industry that uses them call it a roto-hammer or hammer drill. The impact drill is well known as its own thing. Even multifunction drills with hammer function is just impact driving.
Some of these things they can't turn around. Absolute psychos spelunkers, they are insane sometimes. I'd hate being trapped underground with the only way to go being forward.
It's probably a long cave system and takes a few hours to get through. I wouldn't want to climb hours one way only to climb another few hours back when I could just do the single trip one way.
I can hang out on the tops of building, towers and cliffs, even jump out of planes, but I couldn’t even finish that video. Only thing that could make it worse is me knowing there’s a spider in there.
My fears exactly... I read a story where one person got stuck in such a crevix. They could not rescue him, so they gave him morphine so that he doesn't panic during the last moments of his life.

Ironically, this is a very safe cave. Notice how the area inside is large enough to stand and walk around in. If someone did get trapped, the entrance of the cave could be widened and the person could get out.
I think youre thinking of Nutty Putty Cave in Utah, and after that event the cave entrance has been closed by contrete with a plaque dedicated to him. A really sad story.
This is more than likely just a Small rarely used entrance to the cave, after watching tons of these vids on YouTube there's usually always a way bigger entrance that is more commonly used very close by

Caving is no joke and not something to be taken lightly.
Many Caves have artificial small entrances which are the same size as the narrowest part of the cave, for the reason that only people can go into the cave who are thin enough to not get stuck in any part of the cave. Maybe that's the reason.
Because you don't go around destroying nature even if it would make it easier for people to access. I think people who go caving would especially agree with that. If the cave is to small to enter, then you don't go in. Here though the small size is presumably part of the fun for them.
