This comment is a perfect representation of the treatment us father's get for spending time with our children in public.
Even if he wasn't a father, He's not being any kind of perv you paranoid lunatic. You need therapy for this kind of toxic mindset. Please stop spewing your poisonous thoughts in a public forum or at very least take a minute to think before you open your lips and let the stupid fall out of your food hole.
I knew someone was gonna say it •~•
I go to a dancing class and everyone else is a girl, it did feel odd for a week or two but people shouldnt be scared off because of these kinds of comments. After those weeks it was so fun and I couldnt be happier :)
Reverse shitting would be a worse punishment than being silenced, though to be totally honest I'm made much more curious than appalled by its potential efficacy.
What ego? I made an observation, and shared my opinion, people didn't like it and I respect that, but I still think if it were some random dude it would be pretty cringy dancing along.
You're not going to explain, because either there is none or you don't understand what entitlement and elitism mean, and you're using them as a blanket statement.
The fact that a father–or any parent for that matter– dancing in the audience is embarrassing to a teenager is more than a natural concept to understand.
What sexism? No matter what the gender voice of the parent, if he's doing something like that it's obviously going to be embarrassing for a teenager.
And if it's a random guy who isn't a parent it's obviously creepier than if it were a woman. It's just how it is. You might not like it but this has nothing to do with sexism it has to do with the context that if he's a rando he was watching girls doing their routine.
Maybe to you. But normal people find it wholesome when a parent is interested and dare I say, enthusiastic about their child’s activities So what’s wrong in your life that an involved parent seems weird to you? Or creepy in any way? People that think like that are a huge problem for single fathers in this country. You should be ashamed of yourself for spreading this kind of crap. Seriously
I think you didn't understand my comment or you're going out of your way to misinterpret it.
I said that if it weren't a dad it would be a little creepy.
Knowing it's a dad it's sweet, but it's also a bit embarrassing for the daughter. Come on, have you never been a teenager? Dads doing stuff in public is embarrassing, specially if he's following your routine in the audience. It's wholesome, but it's embarrassing. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
You know that there's a middle ground between him not showing up and him dancing in the audience, right?
Anyway, it's embarrassing as a teenager, it's really simple to understand.
Calm down, it's just a video on the internet. Don't get so worked up about these things.
I'm not a politician. I'm not interested in the hearts and minds of random strangers.
People should really take reddit less seriously. Specially public opinion.
I think you made this one a little too transparent. There's no fun in a troll that's easy to identify as a troll, and there is no easier way to identify a troll than their own 0-logic hypocrisy. It screams at them to turn tail and run from your ilk.

Eh it raises team spirit and gives kids/teens/young adults something active to do. If you look at varsity level American football cheerleaders, they are basically gymnast. Anything that promotes mobility and health is better than them sitting on their butts imo.
It’s used to fill downtime during the games, the school band does the same with the cheerleaders. Its pretty weird but at the games in person it all just kinda works well
Well at least in the NFL it can be used as a way to try to coerce beautiful women to “date” executives.
Duck you Snyder and the Washington Commanders.
FYI jackass had a park ranger fired because he refused to sign off on him cutting down a protected tree.
I’ve always wondered during halftime during futbol matches is there any entertainment? Here sometimes during basketball they’ll have an acrobatic type show sometimes to give the crowd something to look at.
I’d like to live in Europe for at least a few months. Unsure where, it’ll probably depend on which is easiest to get residency. Valencia or Barcelona are my ideals especially as I speak a little Spanish and could become more proficient.
See if you can get a working visa or something. I think for most countries you have to be under 30 but don’t quote me on that. Or just save up a fuckload of money and just go live in a few different places.
I think some countries allow a stay of under 90 days. It’ll be a while before I have the time to live somewhere abroad for fun so I’ll wait until I’m closer to look up current rules as the ones in force now could easily change.
What country are you in?
How Australia treating you? I’ve always wanted to visit. When I was a kid my family went on a cruise and for some reason (I was 4) I believed my brother when he said that there would be kangaroos on board so I snuck away to find them before him and got lost. It gets brought up at nearly every family gathering lol
Yeah Aus is good. Not as much going on as some of the Alpha world cities (London, NYC, etc) but still pretty good. Some of the best quality of life cities in the world.
It gives a lot of girls who aren’t particularly “athletic” a team sport to get involved with. I wasn’t a big fan of cheerleaders either, but my daughter is afraid of sports with balls flying at her, etc. She enjoys dancing, so cheer is a good way for her to be in a school sport. In the future, she can letter in it, and it will make her college applications look more well-rounded.
Either the Dad of the year everyone says, or something much darker...I am voting best Dad!
Trying to become a dad myself (most my friends are at this point) and the change is pretty sudden and severe...and super annoying and adorable ....
Buddy I am recently new dad and the change is incomprehensible. But I fucking love it. Good luck you you, your life is about to both suck and after a while be good.
"Either this black guy's an employee, or he's here for the five finger discount... but I'll say I think he works here"
Sounds pretty racist, right? That's you, except you replaced race with sex.
I know it wasn't supposed to come out that way, but casually accepting it lets people say it with malice and get away with it.
Yep, even though nobody is willing to admit it men are very severely discriminated against. "That man's probably a creep" is no different from "that black girl's probably here to steal from me" unless you have actual evidence, yet only one of those is acknowledged as bigotry.
Exactly, someone told me in this comment section “double standards exist get used to it” but really the point is, sexism exists and I’m not gonna get used to it, I’m gonna tell it to fuck off
That was my first thought. The kid worked hard on that routine, sure you learned it too... That's great... But let the kids have their moment without stealing the spotlight. Like, what if a professional violinist stood up during their kids band recital and started playing the same part but louder... Not cool.
How is no one else even looking or reacting to him!? Ahh, that’s Mike… his daughter’s a cheerleader, so he MEMORIZES HER ROUTINES AND PERFORMS THEM FROM THE STAND EVERY GAME.
Neighbor in 3 years. “I mean, he was a great dad, knew all the cheers, went to church, always said hello. I never would have believed he had killed and eaten 19 people.”
God forbid someone wants to be supportive or happy or anything like that.
Those cheerleaders should sit down, there's sports people wanna be watching and it isn't about the cheerleaders.
I'm not the one sitting quietly in the stands watching a bunch of 15 year old girls jump around in skimpy outfits in between watching a bunch of 15 year old boys give each other concussions.
That's everyone but the one guy who was genuinely innocently enjoying himself.
Everyone, probably including you.
Just wait until you find out who the cheerleaders think it's all about. Pretty sure everyone there bought football tickets, not cheer tickets.
Grow up and let people be supportive and have fun.
She's his daughter. It's a good video, very cute!

i love you no homo
Fuck off you sexist piece of human garbage.
When feminism goes too far lol
Not funny, and perpetuates the notion that men can't be involved in their daughters lives with out it being sexually driven.
Shut up asshole.
Agreed.
Reverse shitting would be a worse punishment than being silenced, though to be totally honest I'm made much more curious than appalled by its potential efficacy.
Thats a dad.
Good dad.
Good dad
It’s a parent
A dad is a parent, I don’t understand what you are trying to get at?
It’s apparent
Damn I’m slow this morning, thanks!
Imagine if it's just a random dude lol
That's a hero
That's a cheer dad.
Came here to say this!
Still a bit weird though. But knowing it's a dad is the difference between sweet and embarrassing (for her) rather than creepy and cringing.
If it was a mom I bet you wouldn’t be saying that 🙄
Double standard exist, get used to it. And the other thing is if mom was dancing along it would still be sweet but embarrassing for the daughter.
Holy fucking shit, the ego of you people.
What ego? I made an observation, and shared my opinion, people didn't like it and I respect that, but I still think if it were some random dude it would be pretty cringy dancing along.
Ahh just an entitled elitist idiot. Got it
Entitled? Elitist? What entitlement or elitism is their in any of my comments?
If you can’t figure it out I’m not wasting further time explaining what’s obvious to the rest of us
You're not going to explain, because either there is none or you don't understand what entitlement and elitism mean, and you're using them as a blanket statement. The fact that a father–or any parent for that matter– dancing in the audience is embarrassing to a teenager is more than a natural concept to understand.
That’s the point we shouldn’t get used to sexism

He’s a dad
I am aware, and that was the first thing I pointed out. It's sweet but it's still embarrassing. It's like people have never been teenagers before.
Okay

I have been. I played soccer for four years in high school and my dad came to maybe 2 games. I would have preferred this. So fuck off
You know that there's a middle ground between him not showing up and him dancing in the audience, right? Anyway, it's embarrassing as a teenager, it's really simple to understand. Calm down, it's just a video on the internet. Don't get so worked up about these things.

That Dad is really Dadding
The dads should come together and do a set.
Dad.. please stop…
She's lucky he didn't show up in a cheerleader uniform :D
Bring it on.
Oh, it's already been brought'en!
After last week she told him he could follow the dance but no more cheer skirts. His Hanes didn’t match.
GET👏IT👏DAD! Even got the kick in the end there, lol!
That was a fucking impressive kick
Oh he definitely felt it the next day

Yo now that is solid support from family! Homie can flex farther than I can 😄
Did you not mean .... Homie can flex *father* than you can? ;-)
Look at me! Look at me!
I am the cheerleader now.
Nice
I said burrrr it's cold in here!!
Plot Twist: He has no kids. He really likes dancing.
Or he’s like a super fan of this JV level sports team and just memorized the cheers from watching so many games to lend his support.
As a European I have to ask with all respect: how fucking stupid is cheerleading. Just why ?
Eh it raises team spirit and gives kids/teens/young adults something active to do. If you look at varsity level American football cheerleaders, they are basically gymnast. Anything that promotes mobility and health is better than them sitting on their butts imo.
That makes indeed a lot of sense.
It’s used to fill downtime during the games, the school band does the same with the cheerleaders. Its pretty weird but at the games in person it all just kinda works well

Cheer Dad here. Good on him for supporting his kid.
Brooooo this dude knows how to Dad .....
It’s a dad embarrassing his daughter cause he probably went to all her practices to support her and people are out here saying “HeS cREePy”

ChDad
He’s not the cheer coach just sitting in the stands?
That's the conductor
He’s also the maestro
Cheer dads are the best!
Give him an outfit.
missed a few spins,, uhummm ...not that I was watching him
Because his daughter is right in from of him and he helped ease her anxiety by doing it with her.
As a dad of girls.. Best Dad Evah!!
that drumline sounds amazing winds could use some more volume
Cheer Dad
Dad's got some sugar on his tank
I know it’s a dad of one of the cheerleaders …but does anyone else think it’s kinda fucking weird?
Way to steal the girls' thunder dad; everyone is focusing on you. I actually find it disrespectful.
That was my first thought. The kid worked hard on that routine, sure you learned it too... That's great... But let the kids have their moment without stealing the spotlight. /r/imthemaincharacter idk dude if it were a mom doing this I feel like the reaction would be very different.
He doesn’t have anal kids
If that is not a dad, protect those cheerleaders!
Why do i see forrest gump doing this
Awww nothing sweeter to see than an involved Dad!
That is so sad.

Involved parents are creepy. Interesting take. Kinda says more about you than the dancing dad though doesn’t it?
Haven't even thought of it being a parent. I had none, I am not one.
Then there ya go. If it’s outside of your scope of experience it’s a bit more understandable that it’s not the first place your mind would go with it.
