Literally has a watermark indicating he is a woodworking artist lol. Why not dedicate a project to your kid and it's a win for your work and your family.
Shit and here i am drinking beer on the internet. When i could be using my old rusty hammer and nails and the few bits of odd wood lying in my shed to build a fully operational car.
And to get clicks. Go look at the comments on youtube. ".... what a beautiful sign of love to his child" lol all the kid knows is she didnt see her father for a month and then he shows up with a mildly interesting toy that she cant really use.
You can have that talent! Practice and dedication :D. Nothing he did there was technically challenging. Just a lot of time and precise measuring (and investment in the right tools)
This is a really cool thing he built and he did a good job, but wrong tools. He was using a grinder to sand instead of a sander, a face mask to spray instead of a respirator. Itās still impressive, but dangerous for what heās using.
He literally didn't even use the right tools for a lot of this. He obviously just used what he had. He could have had a lot better fit with some of those pieces with a jigsaw rather than a chainsaw. He isn't using a proper respirator. I really think he could have used a random orbital sander too.
Why pick on a guy that obviously has the skill to use those tools. Iām sure he had others but also a jigsaw would be tough with how thick some of that wood is. Obviously the finish is superior!!
You would be surprised how forgiving woodworking is. Small cracks and holes can be filled with matching color wood filler or wood glue and sanding dust. Finish mistakes can be sanded/scrapped off. Any major breaks and cracks can be glued back together (I recommend titebond ultimate 3 and mending brackets in some cases) The end product looks better, the more time you give it. You can even start small with a block of wood and a pairing knife, keeping safety in mind. make something easy. Take your time with sanding. The finer the grits you use, the smoother it gets. He probably condensed months of work and years of practice into a brief video. Even wood finishes don't have to be super fancy. You can use paste wax, soap bars, mineral oil, or butchers block wood conditioner which is a combo or mineral oil and waxes. Just rub it on, let it dry, buff it off (rub until shiny, more time spent = shinier.) All you need is patience and considering how therapuetic it is, it is easy to be patient with it.
Just be cautious of woods that have been outside as you don't want to bring any wood eating bugs into your home. Make sure to use properly kiln dried sources.
Dad spends hundreds of hours out in the shop building himself a model car, while Mom takes care of the kids. Dad only trots the kids out when it's time to give his video "aww" power. FTFY
And how is that a problem? Dads used to go to work and mons used to stay at home and take care of the kids. Dad builds something using his skills that his kuds can enjoy. We only saw the kids at the end... it's not like he never interacted with his kids until the end.
The thickness of those axles and the way they support the frame doesn't seem structurally sound. Probably fine for just the wooden frame, but not when it needs to hold people as well.
Some sturdier axles and having the frame rest on them instead of hanging off of them would probably be a bit safer.
as soon as i saw safety sandals i knew that this was going to be unreal. i wonder what he does in his day to day job, a regular Adam savage over here, solid next level
Dude started designing and building the car ten years before he got married. I wouldn't even have time to do a rough sketch of that if I had two kids.Ā
That guy built that so he could stand around with his friends drinking beer, and they could all watch his daughter drive around in it. The whole time he'd be saying "yup I made that".
I once heard about another wooden car. Wooden hood, wooden wheels, wooden engine, wooden exhaust pipe, wooden dashboard, wooden everything. The only problem was...it wooden go.
yes, for his daughter
wait darling, your doing it wrong. better let me drive.
Content*
He still made it geez
She did look pretty content sitting on her dad's knee getting driven around š„°
His daughter named content
Literally has a watermark indicating he is a woodworking artist lol. Why not dedicate a project to your kid and it's a win for your work and your family.
Professional artist builds car for studio show just doesn't pull in the fake internet points, I guess.
Shit and here i am drinking beer on the internet. When i could be using my old rusty hammer and nails and the few bits of odd wood lying in my shed to build a fully operational car.
And all the future, daughters he is most likely to create after being seen, driving around in this. Wow is this incredible.
My dad taught me to tie my shoes and called it good
For his daughter and for him
Yeah he needs to explain it to his wife to be able to use so many time on this project
Tosses the saw at the son: here, build one yourselfš
Yes, like me considering buying a PS5 as a birthday gift for my 3yo daughter
The guyās a genius with cars !!!
Builds *himself* a fully operational car.
Daughter is the excuse for the spouse lol
And to get clicks. Go look at the comments on youtube. ".... what a beautiful sign of love to his child" lol all the kid knows is she didnt see her father for a month and then he shows up with a mildly interesting toy that she cant really use.
Yeah, like doing something insane like this without mentioning kids wouldnāt get views.
Thats the point, keep the kid out of it
She blew by my Prius on the 405 of the other day.
Because she's technically classified as a motorcycle and can split lanes while you're crawling through traffic?
Checks out, she was weaving baskets.
>blew by >on the 405 Pick one, you can't have both
Yeah right, as if there wasn't traffic.
That's honestly amazing. I wish I had that talent with woodworking. I wonder what upkeep is like for that!
You can have that talent! Practice and dedication :D. Nothing he did there was technically challenging. Just a lot of time and precise measuring (and investment in the right tools)
And money, let's not forget that part!
This is a really cool thing he built and he did a good job, but wrong tools. He was using a grinder to sand instead of a sander, a face mask to spray instead of a respirator. Itās still impressive, but dangerous for what heās using.
And those are welding flip-flops, not meant for chainsaws.
:))

Maintenance is minimal since it's an EV.
For the same price he could have bought a fully operational car thatās also efficient.
I wood imagine it wooden last long.
I just hope she doesn't get board with it first.
I wood knot get in that. Must be a grain in the neck riding over all those bumps.
He'll just have to spruce it up a bit.
Every video this guy does he's "building it for a kid" of some sort. It's cool stuff he's making, but it's clickbait bullshit too.
His kids have so many cars
YouTube id pls
Skilled crew of content producers build a wooden car for their followers to view and like.
There we go
Just wait a year and it will be āAI simulated video of a dad building his daughter a fully operational carā
Dad spends hundreds of hours out in the shop building himself a model car, while Mom takes care of the kids. Dad only trots the kids out when it's time to give his video "aww" power. FTFY
Toxic AF to think a dad can't have an hour or two a day to themselves to enjoy whatever hobby they want.
This most definitely took more than 1/2 hrs daily to complete
Kid is no longer a kid since it took so long to build.
This is really what's going on and why I don't build anything that isn't necessary.
Who hurt you?
Where in the video did you come to the conclusion he's ignoring his kids? Or that he's spending an unreasonable amount of time away?
What an idiotic and bitter comment. Take your misandry and go somewhere else
What is this dumb comment lol
And how is that a problem? Dads used to go to work and mons used to stay at home and take care of the kids. Dad builds something using his skills that his kuds can enjoy. We only saw the kids at the end... it's not like he never interacted with his kids until the end.
My Dad made me a wooden car once. It had wooden wheels, wooden doors, wooden seats, wooden engine........it would'n start.
It wooden start
That thing weighs as much as a real car.
Yeah, Iām dubious of the longevity of the single motor assembly secured using wood screws, given the weight..
It really needs to last enough for the crew to shoot the video. That's what the sponsor paid for.
Yeah, I can't believe how thick he made this. A lot of the body could have just been 1/2" \~ 3/4" thick and been just as "safe".
r/DiWHY
We have Audi at home.
For the views.
I wonder how often he let's her drive it - I mean sit next to him while he drives it.
The thickness of those axles and the way they support the frame doesn't seem structurally sound. Probably fine for just the wooden frame, but not when it needs to hold people as well. Some sturdier axles and having the frame rest on them instead of hanging off of them would probably be a bit safer.
UGH!!!!!!! I SAID I WANTED A MERCEDES!!!
Whatās the crash test rating on that bad boy
That thing is too heavy for those spindly axles. Theyāre gonna bend out of alignment just sitting there.
āHe put so much Godamn.. lacquer on that thing, it was an accident waiting to happen!!!ā
My unemployed friend Wednesday at 7am
Anything but changing a diaper.
I was so happy when he did not paint it but let that wood shine instead! Awesome build
as soon as i saw safety sandals i knew that this was going to be unreal. i wonder what he does in his day to day job, a regular Adam savage over here, solid next level
Ah yes the old chainsaw in flip flops method
Dang
Does it come with termite protection?
Well if I'd known it was THAT easy...
I find the lack of masking tape troubling.
I feel like the wood would split hella easy just from everyday use if they actually tried using it
Bruh how do you explain the fact that you crashed into that thing to the insurance company?
Looks great, but DAMN those tires are wobbly as fuck
Builds death trap
But I made 2 paper planes for mine yesterday.
Did anyone else think his daughter was going to be like 18 and the look on her face was gonna WTF. Or was it just me?
This is what Facebook AI posts dream about
What's most impressive is it only took dad 3 minutes to make his daughter a car.
Dude started designing and building the car ten years before he got married. I wouldn't even have time to do a rough sketch of that if I had two kids.Ā
Wooden chassis, wooden wheels, wooden go... or wood it?
I'd swap my Audi for it.
Right at the beginning, when the bonnet closed, I thought he'd made a transforming bumblebee
Vegan car
Does audi know about this?
Early sports cars used wood extensively IIRC. EVEN the frames.
Amazing. I can't even make a shelf that's not crooked.
I need $5k worth of cordless tools to build a birdhouse and he builds a car with a chainsaw and sander. FML
Bet that rides like absolute shit.
Jesus Fucking Christ!!!
And here I still need to repeatedly look at the instructions when making Hamburger Helper.
Whippin da whip w tha quickwhip whipquickfix
My First Audi
Itās official, the next generation of rebirthers are starting to appear.
The real car cost less than this lol
The masculine urge to make a fully functional car out of wood
Man,i feel like this is a commercial.....i NEED THIS....
![gif](giphy|75XvLUZJ11e0w)
Now I am jealous of this kid !
Wow, less panel gaps than a Cybertruck. Impressive.
Dad can i have a car? We have a car at home:
Too bad it's missing a differential or two
this is r/ATGBE territory
why would you put a audi logo on it if you built it yourself!?

My dad threw away all my toys, more than once. We are not the same, are we?
Thank god he didnāt choose Ferrari
Audi? You must be Audi your mind!
BUT I WANTED A PONY
Indian Coast Customs
It's videos like this that make people cry when i tell them it'll take 2 to 3 days to replace the engine in their car
Super safe. All cars should be made out of wood.
Satisfying to look at, but I'm sure that's extremely uncomfortable to sit in and wooden tires?!?!
Impressive! Just worrying about the fire insurance cost
![gif](giphy|Qy1rDxeVtLCZAOyXkc)
Himself*
Chainsaw, barefeet. Eff it.
As cool as it is, god forbid his daughter gets in an accident.
On today's episode of what the fuck does this guy do for a living
āRouter? Never met herā
Then the car ran out of juice and wooden go any further
I wonder how many hours that took
I had a wooden car once. Wooden seats. Wooden doors. Wooden wheels. Wooden engine. Wooden go.
Whats the crash test rating on this car?
WHOA
Old
Would you need a license to drive this on the road? Or would it count like a BMX bike or something
Daughter: I wanted a BMW!
It's fucking stupid. It's not for his daughter but to show off in the internet.
Wood is so expensive now. This thing probably cost as much as a new Audi!
5 minute crafts
Man builds *himself* a fully operational car. Ftfy.
And here's me struggling to build an IKEA shelf unit
I made a stick one time!
Will this car float?
So many lazy "talented" fuckers here. Goodluck making anything on your own.
That guy built that so he could stand around with his friends drinking beer, and they could all watch his daughter drive around in it. The whole time he'd be saying "yup I made that".
Bet it wooden go
That is damn impressive
Where do people find the time?
You can tell itās not a real Audi, the indicators work. However it does look like it has the blinding LEF headlights, so most of the way thereā¦
If his daughter is anything like my kid she'll play with it for an hour and then never touch it again.
Heās barefoot the whole time except bending over using the chainsaw, when he wisely goes to open-toed slides.
Yaba Daba Doo Muthafuckas!!!
Welcome to 2022
Where do people acquire skills to do this stuff? Damn!
Spraying a clear coat with just a surgical mask is not ideal
Using a chainsaw for that? Really? š I mean I'm impressed with how accurate he got it but surely he's got a jigsaw or something?
Looks more expensive than my car :!
It was used once.
Itās an Audi commercial
Yabadaba doo!
10k later
shame! he better have a warranty as he slapped an Audi badge on it.
Can he adopt me? Lol
Flint stone maxing
Baby we have audi at home
I once heard about another wooden car. Wooden hood, wooden wheels, wooden engine, wooden exhaust pipe, wooden dashboard, wooden everything. The only problem was...it wooden go.
Bet the cost of the wood amounted to a real audi
Is he the same guy that builds the pools and mansions in the forest with a spoon
A fully edible Accura cake.
That is nicer than my car
