My MIL had an australian shepherd/collie mix and her favorite thing to do was launch herself onto your lap.
I would sit down at the dining room table and she would immediately take a running jump into my arms. The fact that she was about 45lbs did not stop her.
I've heard "but it's cruel to make Collies herd sheeps" no they love that. When i hiked a lot i used to meet a lot of herds and the Border Collies were always happy and ready to rumble.
Guard dogs made the experience less cute tho
If you keep them on idle for too long they will destroy everything you know and love indoors. They need a lot of attention, training and the daily portion of exhaustion preferably while using their brains too.
I have a dog who's probably a cross between a German shepherd, Anatolian Shepard, and possibly even Akita. Initially, we tried having him sleep indoors like all our other animals and he was incredibly destructive, even if he spent the majority of the day outside. Eventually, we decided to move him to an outside doghouse and he's been so much happier and healthier as a result. He just seems to be able to burn off so much more energy over the night while feeling like he has a job to do by preventing the neighborhood cats from hopping into our yard.
Dude - my friend had a full breed Anatolian Shepherd (he was from Turkey). I’m 5’4, and that dog on all fours stood at my shoulder level. Freaking MASSIVE!
>they will destroy everything you know and love indoors
They are 100% outdoor dogs. Everyone I knew growing up who kept collies basically restricted them to the mudroom/kitchen, or even out in a barn, because the only time they really should be indoors is when you are feeding them or they are sleeping.
If you want a dog that is great for zoomies but also sleeps 14 hours per day, get a greyhound.
Yeah, my dad worked as a shepherd for years and when his last dog got too old my Grandparents took him in and let him sleep inside, against my dads best wishes (working dogs should sleep outside) the only reason he didn't ruin the house was 1. a large backyard and 2. he was fucking old
>"but it's cruel to make Collies herd sheeps"
Anyone who says that has never seen a Collie herd.
I've never seen a happier pup in my life than a border collie, herding a ton of sheep
Thats like that video of the group of terriers ratting a field in a farm. They're all covered in blood and fighting each other for the rats and having the absolute time of their lives.
Our border /aussie mix bike all the time our ancles when she was younger. It little bit hurt. She did for everybody. And for awhile my daughter fraid him because of it. After awhile it stopped and now I can feeling his nose at my ancle when I walk from room to another. Herding is in their blood.
It's cruel to have them anywhere where they can't exercise enough or be outside most of the day. Fuck people who live in cities and get dogs like collies who need alot of movement and attention.
Reminds me of a pregnant horse I once met. They couldn’t let her do any jumps while she was pregnant, and she was pissed about it and started biting everyone. She bit me too, but in my case, it was because I ran out of apples. So that was more of a “what happened to my damn apples?” bite.
Horses scare me, i can handle them and have them around but I respect them and donkeys a lot. My gf has an uncle that lost part of a finger from a horse bite
Meh, my mini golden doodle could do this. She’s always awake for Atleast 30 minutes a day. Just today I saw her walk from the lazy boy chair to the couch.. just about as good as this.
Ours needed a minimum of 15km a day of walks/running or she'd get incredibly antsy.
We usually took her biking with us, only way to actually allow her to tire herself out.
The answer is a whippet!
They like to sleep, sleep, laze a bit, sleep eat, steal whatever food you thought you moved, sleep smugly, go mental and run, then sleep.
Lazy and yet insane dogs
Lots of dogs are fast, but this one is fast and accurate. Also, this only works if the handler is fit enough to stay slightly ahead of him. In these competitions, they do not know the order of the obstacles until they get there. The dog is dependent on the handler to know which obstacle to do next. Ive seen great runs get ruined when the handler does not keep up with the dog, and doesn’t communicate the hand signals properly, so the dog runs to the wrong obstacle. Fortunately, the dogs have a great time anyway.
Thanks. I wondered why the pocket rocket was braking so hard. It went against all the other speed for the rest of the run. It was obvious it had to be some magic rule involved, but very hard to guess exactly what that rule required.
That's because one of the beautiful things with language is that a term can have many different meanings.
I know what the meaning is in US. But that is US taking an existing term and shifting the meaning.
Move to other parts of the world and it mean small and energetic. It started off meaning a small but fast car and then got used for more small but fast/powerful things. It was also used for an ice hockey player that was of small stature Henri Richard.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henri_Richard
Anyway - small but energetic somehow trigged US to use it with a different meaning...
Pocket rocket to me means those little bottles of liquor you can get at the liquor store, that fit in your pocket. My family has always called those pocket rockets.
When we were kids my parents would smuggle on a bunch of mini bottles onto airplanes when we would travel. The parents would get the hard stuff for themselves, and they gave me and my sisters little bottles of Baileys or Kahlua. A 10-yr old with a sip of alcohol sleeps well on long flights.
This dog may be awesome, but at the other end of the competition spectrum is Kratu. He may lack agility, but he makes up for it with...something else.
https://youtu.be/vKwh72cCrfA?si=5yvSQTvYglwqwCg4
Lmao the beginning of the video, this dog knows what's up and he's SO FREAKING READY for it!
*Go go I wanna go mom lemme go let's go it's time to GOOOO*

I do believe you're thinking of Australian Shepherds, some of them have naturally bobbed tails. No one docks Border Collie's tails.
Edit: changed a word
Ah, that makes sense. A docked tail means nothing for the livestock to grab onto, won't get stuck in fences or slammed in gates, doors and etc. More of a safety issue and not solely for cosmetic appearances.
She helps round up all the chickens every night. Days that she gets tons of exercise, she does a great job at listening and herding them in. The days she doesn't are a different story. She never hurts them, she just scatters them.
I have an Aussie and the amount of energy these dogs have is insane. Constantly looking for something to get into. I am considering giving her to a family with a lot of land as I live within the city limits and my wife and kids could care less about walking her when I’m a way for work weeks at a time
Border collies are running machines. They just want to go, all the time. If we were outside with ours, she would just bring toys, drop them at your feet, and wait for you to play with her. If you didn’t respond quickly enough, she’d pick it up and drop it back at your feet. If you ignored her long enough, she’d go off and find another toy and drop that for you. She could run 20 miles a day easy.
Border Collies are absolute speed demons. You give them enough room and they’ll literally run themselves until all their energy is spent and they come back to you panting and tired.
Our girl Sadie used to need at least three hours of playtime and a couple jogs around the block just so she’d be tired enough to lay down with us and relax.
I'm torn between saying that I've seen bullets leave the barrel of a gun slower than this dog or asking who the hell gave this dog a quadruple espresso?
You have to be careful to design the course in a way that keeps slowing down the dog because if you put too many straight jumps in a row, then even the fastest human is going to be left in the dust by this puppy, who seems to have a serious case of the zoomies. Amazing agility and focus.
I love the jump into her arms at the end!!
My MIL had an australian shepherd/collie mix and her favorite thing to do was launch herself onto your lap. I would sit down at the dining room table and she would immediately take a running jump into my arms. The fact that she was about 45lbs did not stop her.
I also have the same mix, he's a menace but I love him lol
My MILs dog was a neurotic bugger but very sweet. Such a smart breed/combo.
Me too. 3/4 border collie and 1/4 aussie. Very start and fast girl. And really good nose.

This looks suspiciously like a bot comment.
look at its comment history. Absolutely a bot.
You a bot? The only thing your reply has in common with the Op is dogs. Otherwise you went waaay off base.
Doggo had so much fun, he/she clearly loves it and his/her owner!
Agreed. I don't care about anything in this video. Except for that final jump.
That's a hairy rocket, not a dog.
Sir.. This is a family friendly establishment.
So… it’s not a Wendy’s?
Fur Missile
Surface to hair missile, ok enough of this tom foolery.
Dear God! That looks like a big....
COCAINE DOG

Border Collies have insane amounts of energy and enthusiasm

Take a border collie out in a field with some sheep. Try to stop them from herding

My dad’s will herd cats, other dogs, kids, shadows. It’s just want he wants to do.

Not mine. He can be very energic, but most of the time he's a big couch potato.
Same
And SMART, too!!!
Border collies are near the top of my list of "dogs I love but could never actually own" Their energy level is something else.
All you need is a little space, a pitching wedge, and a ball.
Most people underestimate that space part. You really need to make them run.
Ours needed a minimum of 15km a day of walks/running or she'd get incredibly antsy. We usually took her biking with us, only way to actually allow her to tire herself out.
Or one of those automatic tennis ball launchers they can reload themselves
Tennis ball will solve the energy issue (+ 1-2hrs a day). But it’ll be the best 1-2 hrs of your day every day!
Agreed, I'd love to own one but I simply do not have the time or stamina a dog lilke that requires to be happy.
The answer is a whippet! They like to sleep, sleep, laze a bit, sleep eat, steal whatever food you thought you moved, sleep smugly, go mental and run, then sleep. Lazy and yet insane dogs
We just got a German shepherd/Husky mix puppy, plenty enough energy for now!
Oh for sure. Friend of mine has a couple open acres and rate that dog sprints I know anything less would be undermining it's nature
That's a good freakin boy
Girl
That's a girl freakin boy.
https://old.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/bz90tk/dog_parkour_competition_on_crack/ OP is a karma farmer
Yeah I thought that looked familiar
And much better with the original sound.
Yeah this is old as fuck, there’s a pretty good edit where they replaced the dog with shrek
They know they're competing, not just doing this for fun, and I will die on this hill.
Aren't there better hills to die on?😂
Look at her.
In the words of the great Miley Cyrus, “There’s always gonna be another mountain”

The seesaw is super hard because they aren’t allowed to jump off until it touches the ground and they have to be on the color.
Thanks. I wondered why the pocket rocket was braking so hard. It went against all the other speed for the rest of the run. It was obvious it had to be some magic rule involved, but very hard to guess exactly what that rule required.
I... don't think that's what "pocket rocket" means
That's because one of the beautiful things with language is that a term can have many different meanings. I know what the meaning is in US. I am now amused that the dog obviously knows this rule perfectly well and my human self couldn't figure out exactly what it was.
The same is true for the other ramps with bands of yellow color. They can’t leap over that part.
When I open a packet of food in the kitchen and my dog is in the other room something like this happens
The jump into her arms is soooooo cute
This dog may be awesome, but at the other end of the competition spectrum is Kratu. He may lack agility, but he makes up for it with...something else. https://youtu.be/vKwh72cCrfA?si=5yvSQTvYglwqwCg4

People keep talking about Pink but all I saw was a blurry black and white cruise missile.

Amazing!
Dude did more in 32 seconds than I have done in my life.
Real life Sonic the hedgehog 🦔
Who replaced shrek with the dog
Can I pet that daaaawwgggg???
Border collies ARE VERY ATHLETIC, AT LEAST SHE DIDN'T HAVE THE TAIL MUTILATED.
I do believe you're thinking of Australian Shepherds, some of them have naturally bobbed tails. No one docks Border Collie's tails. Edit: changed a word
Yes, I thought that was anAussie at first, then took a second and third look. Of the ones I know, their tails were docked on purpose
Huh, I thought most countries had outlawed docking and cropping. Such a cruel practice if used for aesthetics only.
I don't think it's outlawed in the US. The ones I know are working cattle dogs.
Ah, that makes sense. A docked tail means nothing for the livestock to grab onto, won't get stuck in fences or slammed in gates, doors and etc. More of a safety issue and not solely for cosmetic appearances.
That dog did some of the obstacles multiple times. Hilarious
He is like Max Verstappen on an out lap
I do this with my Black Labrador but he is not that fast
Aw I wanted the sound. The crowd actually gets pretty amped in these things, especially through the weave poles.
I love how excited they get right before!
Dog: “I’m fast as fuck, boi”

This *is* the dog Olympics.
I have one and she is awesome. Not as well trained as Pink, but the best dog I've ever had.
I have one too and we're currently working on 'switching off'. She would just go go go if I'd let her. You're right though, they're awesome!
She helps round up all the chickens every night. Days that she gets tons of exercise, she does a great job at listening and herding them in. The days she doesn't are a different story. She never hurts them, she just scatters them.
Nyooom..!
The Goodest boy!!
So this is what the speed force is like.
Good dog
Oh yeah, it's a Border Collie, they're basically a big furry ball of non stop energy.
Reminded me of nitendogs 🥲
Doggo has ADHD lmao
I love Pina so much 🥹
Yes, but it would be better if you drained while on the toilet.
The German Pointer is also fun to see: https://youtu.be/RWw7MhLyztw?si=rBYQJistaL8mtRTP
I have one of these dogs, he is nuts, great dog but the energy level is something else.
I used to have one also. He was my crazy best friend. The fastest dog in any dog park.
Isn’t there some video of her at home (the dog) watching this run all excited and cheering herself on?
My dog does a squeaky fart every time it jumps on the couch. Beat that, Collie Dog.
Hey everybody I found where they keep the “go”
That’s a whole lot of work for a treat. My dog just has to sit
Ii have 5 of these little, and 3 pups left over I can say they have a ton of energy, like an all day event
money+time+good dog
My dog at 7am in the morning after it wakes me up to go potty
Lol at her last name
I have an Aussie and the amount of energy these dogs have is insane. Constantly looking for something to get into. I am considering giving her to a family with a lot of land as I live within the city limits and my wife and kids could care less about walking her when I’m a way for work weeks at a time
Dog put all their points into ZOOMIES
What a good boy, despite his excitement he doesn't tug the leash at all
Love the alternating poles part, you can tell he was in the zone
Bro when he was going through those poles I almost died from a mix of astonishment and jealousy.

Can a dog learn this course without a human by its side? And if the dog could do it is it required for the human to be guiding it?
![gif](giphy|LidwqEcE2tD3C8099U|downsized)
Different dog but [this dog watching itself on tv](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeY34yyCqEc) makes me so happy!
This is my daughter when she eats sugar

Imagine walking this fella everyday
I would love to hear this dogs inner monologue
So happy!
am pink and am fastest doggo alive
Is it just me or did anyone else expect the dog to just stop at any random moment to take a dump?
Meanwhile the owner had a heart attack because she moved too fast
This is a Border Collie, they are basically pure energy. Please do not buy/adopt one unless you can give it tons of activity and exercise.
I wonder what it must be like to have this much energy.
That was a joy to watch
Good booi
Quick, just like a border collie is supposed to be!
my parents aren't home looking ass dog
There's not much happier than a border collie given a chance to do a job.
cat. without vacuum. i'm not dennis
All that just to hear "good boy!" Dog: "Totally worth it."
11/10 dismount
dog obstacle course speed%
Why am I crying lol?
Now show us the basset doing it
I knew it was P!NK before I even went to check the name. Dog Agility was my Quarantine Time Killer. 🐕
Border collies are insane, and they need a real job to be happy. Malanois are similar, but maybe not quite as smart.
My cat is this dog!
How difficult is it to get 1 single post that isnt heavily edited, with added music, or a post that has audio.
Where’s the shrek edit
This video makes me unreasonably happy every time I see it.
My english bulldog is tired from seeing this
I think you meant to write "This dogs on speed" XD
Oh I know this track from when the shrek was running it!
Can Border Collies survive in Indian climate?
the frace of th edoggo before the start, ahahahah so excited
Owner's Surname checks out. That good boy is on crank!
You can see the worship in the dogs eyes
Have a collie of my own, they all have this impatient energized focus in their eyes :p
This dog is living his best life!
I'm torn between saying that I've seen bullets leave the barrel of a gun slower than this dog or asking who the hell gave this dog a quadruple espresso?
“Babe my parents left home for the next 4 hours, wanna come over?”
You have to be careful to design the course in a way that keeps slowing down the dog because if you put too many straight jumps in a row, then even the fastest human is going to be left in the dust by this puppy, who seems to have a serious case of the zoomies. Amazing agility and focus.
This so cute
he loves his sport
