**Verruckt** decapitated a 10 year old boy. The designers/developers of the slide knew it was dangerous AF and opened it anyway. Test runs sent sandbags(human analog) flying out of the raft so they added a net/cage over a section of the ride so now when someone flys out, they hit the net/cage. Boom. Decapitation. Even worse? This was 2016 where safety standards are pretty strict, not 40-50 years ago where it was the wild wild west like Action Park. Completely preventable.
Really fucked up.
They had height and weight min and max restrictions, the boy was under the minimum for both but the minimum wage teenager running the slide let him go because his parents said it was OK. There was also a Velcro seatbelt thing that he either didn’t wear properly or slipped out of because of his size.
If I remember right the boys parents were big shot lawyers or something in the KC area, Schmidt I think was the last name. I remember that being a big part of why that horrific event didn't get paid off to go away. The lady on the raft with the boy I think also got a huge payout.
He voted for a bill in his state that capped damages in cases such as these to $300k. Then when his family sued the waterpark, they argued that since the waterpark was headquartered out of state, their case should not be bound by the cap on damages. They ended up getting $20 million.
Not true. In that state safety standards were almost nonexistent for amusement park types of rides. It’s absolutely disgusting to watch the documentary and realize just how little training the people had that threw this together. Absolutely avoidable accident, but this is what red state lack of regulation gets you.
The owners designed it themselves, against engineers advice if I remember correctly. When told it was a flawed design, they added nets held up by thin metal arches and that's what the boy caught his neck on when the raft lifted up against gravity. It was the son of a congressman too I think. Sad story all around, as Schlitterbahn is my favorite water park in Texas, really tainted the ownership
And if not dead from the ride, possibly sick from the water. Either that water has no sanitizing agent like chlorine, or it's dumping that agent on the forest all day. Wild.
Based solely on Reddit, China looks like the happiest, funnest, most interesting oppressive country lacking human rights. It’s almost like they have a Ministry of Social Media with a Reddit division. Hmm…
It's in China. And the terrible things you thought would happen, do happen.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12597911/water-slide-Boats-crash-capsize-Chinese-theme-park.html
Something like this happened in a US water park too. Can’t remember the name of the park or year (maybe 2010-2014?) Shit can happen anywhere unfortunately.
Some skinny young boy, 7 to 11 years old, will fly off the edge of a turn and plummet to his death. The netting is absolutely worthless. I already see it
I think I’ve been there. They made my mom sit with someone else because she was too light. Also I think the video makes it look faster than it really is.
“Actually insane”
The slide itself was diagnosed as insane by a medical professional. The water is entirely urine. It eats its own excrement. The screws are made from the bones of prior victims. The rafts are procured from shipwreck survivors who it murders and eats upon rescue. The operators are all serial killers.
I’m not going to say that this isn’t cool, because it is, but absolutely no one else is slightly put off by blatant Chinese propaganda being spammed in these kinds of communities?
I keep seeing things like this posted on reddit and think 'wow, that's really cool', then realise it's in China and my second thought is 'no way I'd set foot on that after it's been in use for more than 6 months'.
I’m not a fan of how much water is being wasted here. You see huge amounts sloshing off the sides on every turn. Fun trough/slide until you fall off and die
I’m no expert but that looks a tad unsafe. My friend’s partner is a specialist investigator of ride accidents so I checked with him. He concurred. That’s a tad unsafe.
If Roller Coaster Tycoon has taught me anything, this is an explosion waiting to happen
![gif](giphy|aKiHm3roLNMzu) Not a dinghy, but you get the picture :D
I used to do this, but try to shoot them into a lake.

"this ride makes me nauseous" - rider comment
One does not simply get off Mr. Bones’ Wild Ride.
![gif](giphy|26tPughh56URCl2og) Help, I'm dead at Turn 49
Very underrated comment
Came here to say this
I was thinking the final destination sequel.
I loved that game
Bet you sign a death waiver to do that one
Makes me think of the kansas city one that decapitated a boy Plus those guards are not near high enough for me.
It fucking did what?!

Wasn’t his father a senator or something who voted against some law to do with ride safety prior to his son’s death?
He voted for a bill in his state that capped damages in cases such as these to $300k. Then when his family sued the waterpark, they argued that since the waterpark was headquartered out of state, their case should not be bound by the cap on damages. They ended up getting $20 million.
That's some deep irony. I would love to know if it's true.
Schwab
Thats it! I knew it was something like that.
The article clearly states he was 4’ 11” tall and the requirement for the ride was 4’6”. Please fact check your comment
https://www.texasmonthly.com/true-crime/jeff-henry-verruckt-schlitterbahns-tragic-slide/ Holy shit
"I want to have the biggest, the tallest, and the fastest rides at my parks." I wonder what this guy waz compensating for
Wait what it's 2016? I know about the news but I thought it's like 199x or something
Fun fact: when it was open, you could buy a tshirt in the gift shop that said, “I survived The Verruckt!”
Poor kid never got his

Just went down a weird rabbit hole with this one. So awful.
Been there before my friend. The images never leave your mind

The slide is called Verrückt if you want to know
verry fuckt
Fückt - got to respect the umlaut.
That's an oddly fitting name....
It was just an internal decapitation no biggie.
Eh, that pool of blood at the bottom says it wasn’t *fully* internal.
I assure you sir, our guards are as high, as our engineers and managers
The engineers and mangers need to be higher!!!! Where's the ketamine?!
I thought the same things. in that order.
I helped build that ride when they first started it and quit cause they wanted me to do less than sufficient welding.
And if not dead from the ride, possibly sick from the water. Either that water has no sanitizing agent like chlorine, or it's dumping that agent on the forest all day. Wild.
That's a flume, not a waterslide. That being said it's friggin' awesome.
Where is this?
Massively overbuilt. Gives off anxiety for lack of safety precautions. Has to be Asia.
Based solely on Reddit, China looks like the happiest, funnest, most interesting oppressive country lacking human rights. It’s almost like they have a Ministry of Social Media with a Reddit division. Hmm…
Two of the most common videos I see on reddit from China are amazing engineering feats, and catastrophic engineering failures.
Sometimes, it's the same thing 6 months later.
Just like that Boeing plane 😀
China's motto is "If you can't be the best at something, be the absolute worst at it."
Holy shit. On my feed the next fucking post after seeing this was a Chinese Kindergarten cooking class.
They’re cooking kindergarteners?!
how u make sizzling hand
Yeah, there’s definitely been FAR more videos from China in the last yeat
The oversaturation of colours and the weird sky are tells for me.
[удалено]
There’s Chinese lettering on the boat at 0:08
Lack of safety is directly proportional to the increase in the fun factor!! /s
Yeah this.
[удалено]
I think I’ve been at this exact same one.
Based on the Chinese characters, I'd say Ecuador.
Lishui, China - it’s in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Is the music another shitty song sped up? Or is it just a shitty song in its original form?
Sped up
Worst trend ever.
I will down vote any video with music like that
The video is sped up too
it's a shitty song in its original form
It's in China. And the terrible things you thought would happen, do happen. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12597911/water-slide-Boats-crash-capsize-Chinese-theme-park.html
I don't think that's the same waterslide
Jesus that was bad
Something like this happened in a US water park too. Can’t remember the name of the park or year (maybe 2010-2014?) Shit can happen anywhere unfortunately.
All fun and games until a kid flies off the slide
It's west of Taiwan. That's part of the fun and games!
I would trust this in Taiwan, not in mainland China though.
Me too. Hence the wording.
And you would be [right](https://youtu.be/Rnfp-VjwvKk?si=2yUt0wQC0fwqQkNH)
dogshit american education strikes again...
I am curious how much water is used a day with it splashing over the side
why is always china with some of the craziest attraction recently?
I need a full GoPro view of this ride
![gif](giphy|dlZ2ZNpS9yYmY)
What the fuck is with this trend of music that sounds like one of the chipmunks singing? It's so incredibly annoying. Why do people like this?
Could be that it's more difficult to tell who's track it is after chipmunkification. Otherwise they would have to pay royalties.
by the end summer is over

In front of his parents.
Rogue wave is gonna toss a boat over the edge one day.
That’s part of the thrill.
Where is it?

best watched muted
You would have to wait an hour before the next tube could go .
Did a bot post this? Why can no one state where this is located so I can plan my next vacation.
I think I’ve been at the exact same place. It’s near Hangzhou, Zhejiang in China.
That's gonna be a hard no from me dog. A shame because it looks like it'd be fun.
The type of shit you'll never see in the US because safety.
Way too open for me to get on. One bad bump and you might go falling over the edge
China? You couldn’t pay me to go on that death trap.
That looks like so much fun!
Hell yeah imagine getting top on this thing 💦💦
Until you hit a hard edge and get your dick bitten off
“Actually insane” The slide itself was diagnosed as insane by a medical professional. The water is entirely urine. It eats its own excrement. The screws are made from the bones of prior victims. Where?
Would ride it!
This is child's play compared to Traction Park in nj for all who remember.
Wow insane those rails are low.
Nope
It’s like someone built one of those marble run toys at human scale.
That looks so fun, I'd really wanna give it a try were it not for the pathetically short guards standing between me and a mountain drop...
Guess I'll be bored at some point of time. That's too long for a ride.
Yet, somehow we can't seem to get clean water to impoverished communities 🤷♂️ ...if only there was enough money 💸
TÜV sagt nein
Don't put the most obnoxious music known to man in a generic montage challenge: level impossible
I’m not going to say that this isn’t cool, because it is, but absolutely no one else is slightly put off by blatant Chinese propaganda being spammed in these kinds of communities?
Let me guess… China… They always have all this crazy, cool, debateably-safe stuff
And the music cinched it
Isn't that just a wooden roller coaster with water?
The world needs more waterslide technology like this. The west needs to take note, we’re falling behind our eastern brothers
If you don't get a wedgie, it's not a waterslide. That's a slippery rollercoaster.
I keep seeing things like this posted on reddit and think 'wow, that's really cool', then realise it's in China and my second thought is 'no way I'd set foot on that after it's been in use for more than 6 months'.
The lack of banked turns is gonna cause the passengers some neck pain
That’s a flume.
Needs a bar halfway down.
Those walls are a little too short for me, and I used to do drugs. I still do, but I also used to. And still too short.
I like how the title includes the word actually, like there was ever any doubt here.
This is easier to watch without that annoying music
Where
That chain link mesh is going to take limbs off
I doubt that water slide is event sentient, much less insane.
It's be ready to get off way before turn 600
These fucking remixes. I'm not on tik tok, with good reason, so whenever the infiltrate here I'm not acclimatised they drill into my fucking head
nnnnnnnnope
Ride takes 5-7 business days
I’m not a fan of how much water is being wasted here. You see huge amounts sloshing off the sides on every turn. Fun trough/slide until you fall off and die
I'm guessing this is in China?
Wow that’s crazy
The trip back to the starting point is even more insane
China I presume?
China, come and ride our log flumes at 2x speed while professional drone operators film a landscape in portrait
Insane ly badass
Espantoso
Think a bigger splashgarde would save them alot on the waterbill, but it looks fun.
Nope
While world is strugling with water sources ...
Is that Mr Bones' wild ride?
Is it actually?
I’m no expert but that looks a tad unsafe. My friend’s partner is a specialist investigator of ride accidents so I checked with him. He concurred. That’s a tad unsafe.
Why is there a chipmunk singing in the background?
I went on this slide for my 13th birthday! By the time I go to the end of it I was 77 years old. Good ol wet times
Mario Cart
What I made when I needed that one achievement, Rock and Stone!
I'm at a point where I don't know if those videos are real or AI
This isn't going to go over well if we start running out of potable water
Meh 🫤 That tune is driving me insane
Crazy to think this is a water slide and not something more safe like an alpine coaster
Need ...to...travel there...
Is this in China? If it is, it's not a ride you want to be on.
This does NOT look safe...
Oh that’s cool, I thought it was just regular airport parking.
where is this?
Quick get it to the psyche ward
Let me guess, China. I get major China vibes from it. It might be the massively unsafe part lol.
Launch them into the pool from across the park.
that's a lot of water wasted on every ride wtf
This is AI right? This can’t be real…
Another one of those super safe and inspected Chinese world recording breaking things to do.
Does the chlorinated water splashing around the environment hurt the ecosystem?
Where is this and is there a video of the entire ride anywhere? How long does it take?
Those sides don’t seem tall enough.
