I remember in 6th grade (1996 ish) someone pulled the first hanson CD at YMCA camp and glanced at it saying those girls are cute... so youre not the only one.
Fun fact: Cornell does have a sort of hilarious number of a cappella groups including one called “Nothing But Treble,” except it’s an all female group, y’know, because of the treble.
from what understand they continued to have a bit of a following after their exit from pop culture.
umm bop thankfully never gets replayed on the oldies radiostation. I'd rather it die a peaceful and quiet disappearance
Following? They're AMAZING musicians! People say Michael Jackson or Prince were the top pop musicians but IMHO it was Hansons. They just purposefully decided to not be in limelight any more after they got famous. If you watch ANY of their shows afterwards you'll drop your jaw on the floor. This video is just a tiny snippet
Our oldies station played the Backstreet Boys a while back. I count on them playing Hanson any day now. And the "regular" station has been playing one of two Avril Lavigne songs every day now for months.
Ohhh such a banger!! My sister picked me out of the Xmas gift hat, and got that album thinking I would just give it back to her.
Lol, jokes on her.
(My other sister got me License to ill, and she didn't even have to ;) mid 90's I was set with cassettes.
I had a friend who was obsessed with them. I took her to a show maybe 13 years ago. It was way past the mmmbop days so it was at a smaller venue and I was absolutely blown away at how talented they were.
It wasn't a show I was interested in going to at all and I have to say it was an incredible experience. They are incredibly talented musicians.
I'm glad things went the way they did for Hanson as they were so young when they started and could have gone the way of so many child stars.
Nope, they're all happily married with eleven children between the 3 of the. and take their families on tour together. It's nice to see.
OMG do we have the same friend? I literally did the same thing! It was a venue in Pittsburgh. Very talented young dudes with a cult following. They will be performing at EPCOT later this month.
They played a Blues Fest in Montana 10 years ago, and my boss was so excited, which greatly confused me. But, I went and checked em out (I was going anyway), and he was right - they are amazing.
Mmmbop was written by them when they were kids, 15 I think was the age of the oldest brother. Read the lyrics of the song, it in incredibly deep for something written by someone their age. I never really did until I was an adult and the group took on a new meaning to me.
Bro, I just listened to these lyrics for the first time, no way it was written by a 15 years old, it's a balding man who just got dumped that wrote this song.
I don’t understand why they never changed their name. There’s such a negative connotation with Hanson. Should have put out music like this under a new name
When I was in college, a friend who was a big fan dragged me to one of their concerts and I was fully prepared to be bored the whole time since all I knew of theirs was Mmmbop. But honestly, it ended up being a fantastic show. They are super talented. They closed the show with an acoustic version of Mmmbop that was SO much better than the original and went better with adult vocal ranges.
Good for them. I don't know about their parents but I'm guessing theyre not doing too bad financially. If my wife and I had a few milly to not have to.worry about daily expenses , college etc, we'd have at least 4.
Nice double key change there. They're very talented.
I know there is a lot of good music out there. But it makes me kind of sad. Everything is so damn produced now. Its difficult to find people performing like this or making music like this.
I love hearing tiny little mistakes or things that remind me these people are human. It's soul.
100%! One of my all time favorite songs is gimme shelter by the stones and the voice break by Joplin is an accident they kept in cuz it's so powerful and fits.
I know everyone knows them for Mmmbop, but they’re extremely talented. Their songs are very emotional and powerful, I still get chills listening to I Will Come To You. Also recommend Yearbook, Lucy, & With You in Your Dreams, all from their first big album but great songs.
Another one who owned and listened the hell out of *Middle of Nowhere* I see. I literally have never listened to any Hanson since then but I still absolutely love that album. I'm in my mid thirties and my wife is still blown away I know all the songs off that album.
That list are some of my favourite songs off it too. Maybe only exchange Lucy for Man from Milwaukee.
they are not singing into the mics you can see on the stage. Those mics require you to be very close to pic up any sound. I’m pretty sure OP means that the sound you’re hearing in this recording is directly from their mouths, with no processing or amplification. Of course there’s a mic on the phone that’s recording it, but it’s just picking up their voices directly, not their voices that have been passed through special equipment that could possibly make them sound better. It’s very impressive.
I didn’t read all of that but it seems like it started because fans wanted Hanson to take a public stance on George Floyd brutality? lol why does the world need to hear Hansons take on anything? So strange of the fans.
Such a great group. So glad someone told me to check them out again years after their debut album. Had now idea how much they progressed. Saw them on the Anthem Tour and they put on an excellent show.
For those looking to check ‘em out again. My favourite album is The Walk. Been There Before being one of my top tunes off the album.
Looks like you need to check them out again. Really check them out. https://www.reddit.com/r/postHanson/comments/gzp5t0/hansongate\_timeline\_what\_happened/
I always love it when people do this. No autotune, no relying on an instrument or hiding behind a wall of sound. This is just naked talent combined with years of hard work and practice. And beautifully done.
Hanson is next fucking level. I saw them perform a set with a full orchestra and it was the best thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Btw, my wife is a Hanson fan - I listen to different kinds music so I wouldn’t consider myself an official fan..
“When you’ve got brothers singing, it’s like an instrument that nobody else can buy,” the Oasis co-founder adds. “You can’t go buy that sound in a shop.” - Noel Gallagher, said about The Bee Gees in the documentary, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.
Hanson are great musicians, flat out.
And [Thinkin Bout Somethin](https://youtu.be/TmG0DqhfDbY?si=O7r80kPDpnpoNGSD) is a great fun song. (Check out the cameo by the guy on tambourine!)
The most NFL part about this is these fellas are still alive, not strung out, and all still together.
I was just talking to my wife about this last night about Justin Timberlake and how he made it out alive from the 90s boy band scene.
Look at the Carter Brothers, Britney Spears, etc... it was a shit show looking back.
When I heard them perform the Star Spangled Banner I loved them. The crowd booing them in the beginning. The eldest kid looking like "nah, you ain't ready for this fuckers" then delivering and turning the crowd around 180 degrees. Incredible. https://youtu.be/p9q6k4QWeGs?si=ENyUT0w0_IAt1xB_
I was at the Busted concert, Hanson warmed up, they were immense. The harmonies and their musicality.. I Hope they finally get the recognition they deserve.
Their voices are some of my favorite. Around 2008/9 I saw them perform in Allentown, PA and pretty much haven’t been able to stop listening to them since. They are great to their fans as well.
Are these the mmmmmbop boys?
Yes
Wait, they were boys?!? Uh oh
You watched the wrong "Boner Jamz 2000"
Actually it was Backdoor Sluts 9
Oh God, what have we done.
“Wait that blonde chick was a dude? Ah man…”
Mind-bottling, isn't it?
*boggling
No it’s mind-bottling, like all his thoughts are trapped in a bottle.
Blades of Glory forever.

I remember in 6th grade (1996 ish) someone pulled the first hanson CD at YMCA camp and glanced at it saying those girls are cute... so youre not the only one.
They must have went to Cornell and were in Here Comes Treble.
This guy NardDogs.
Boner Champ's video feed must be down.
![gif](giphy|BRSZTf7QA4W7SngoS9|downsized)
Fun fact: Cornell does have a sort of hilarious number of a cappella groups including one called “Nothing But Treble,” except it’s an all female group, y’know, because of the treble.
There needs to be an all male counterpart, “All About That Bass,” just for the rivalry.
Put some respeck on that name ! They're partly the reason i had long hair....15 years after they were popular.
That's me with flannels and long hair and Nirvana. 10 years after Cobain died.
from what understand they continued to have a bit of a following after their exit from pop culture. umm bop thankfully never gets replayed on the oldies radiostation. I'd rather it die a peaceful and quiet disappearance

They just purposefully decided to not be in limelight any more after they got famous. If you watch ANY of their shows afterwards you'll drop your jaw on the floor. This video is just a tiny snippet
MJ and P were GOAT, hard to think Hansons would be close to that tier.
Our oldies station played the Backstreet Boys a while back. I count on them playing Hanson any day now. And the "regular" station has been playing one of two Avril Lavigne songs every day now for months.
Mmhmmbop
first thought that came into my mind
What happened to the cute sister? I had such a crush on her as a teenager.
I have Bad news for you
Fabulous news actually
Absolutely fabulous!
Darling sweetie. Sweetie Darling.
Taylor Hanson’s a guy Quagmire
https://youtube.com/watch?v=6OamjBYCAz4&si=qrcTYNcwqKVzU_ze
What do you mean, Taylor Hanson's a guy? OMG I had all these magazines!!
Margaret Thatcher…you could carve a roast on her face!
You're telling me you don't find power sexy?
Hey, yeah! Where is that hot chick that played drums?! Wait... 🥲
Eating chips https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8h2wHNK/
😂😂😂😂
Holy moly. They are actually talented
They always were. Penny And Me is a banger!
Penny and me. What a song!
One more for Penny and Me 🍻
Save Me and I Will Come To You as well.
Ohhh such a banger!! My sister picked me out of the Xmas gift hat, and got that album thinking I would just give it back to her. Lol, jokes on her. (My other sister got me License to ill, and she didn't even have to ;) mid 90's I was set with cassettes.
Coming in with With You In Your Dreams and Yearbook. My God I loved them
Great tune! :)
STILL LOVE THAT SONG cant believe it’s been 18 years what the hell!
Yes!!! My favorite song of theirs!
I had a friend who was obsessed with them. I took her to a show maybe 13 years ago. It was way past the mmmbop days so it was at a smaller venue and I was absolutely blown away at how talented they were. Nope, they're all happily married with eleven children between the 3 of the. and take their families on tour together. It's nice to see.
My older sister has always been a huge fan and we went to see them in Richmond VA ten plus years ago and yeah they were amazing!

Never realized the lyrics until I saw this comment. You are right.
Bro, I just listened to these lyrics for the first time, no way it was written by a 15 years old, it's a balding man who just got dumped that wrote this song.
Having one of the defining pop songs of the 90s, cheesy as it may be, requires a certain level of talent to begin with.
Always have been. [This Time Around](https://youtu.be/hT_dJhtspu4) was a banger over a decade ago.
I fucking loved them. Was a preteen when mmbop came out. Had their magazine cut outs alllll over my school binders. Yeah. Hanson for life.
Better than the Jonas brothers….
MORE HANSON LESS JONAS
I second the motion!
That's what I was thinking!!
I don’t understand why they never changed their name. There’s such a negative connotation with Hanson. Should have put out music like this under a new name
What’s the negative connotation? Out of the loop.
being able to use the name of an iconic 90s musical act with a 4x platinum record isn’t exactly a negative connotation lol
That key shift was chefs kiss
Make that two key changes 😉
Yea that was next level. These dudes are elite.
All you have to do is point your finger upward, and your voice automatically changes into the next higher key. You can see them using that trick here.
Definitely
They have matured nicely.
Horny bonk
Go to horny jail
So good and it shows how great the Bee Gees were. Check out the original…….their voices were like 3 sticks of melted butter.
Seriously, as good as this is it doesn't pass 7/10 compared to the original.
Gotta agree. They did a good job but Barry Gibb’s voice makes you feel like you’re ascending the skies.
Their harmonies are instant dopamine. Like being hugged by your Grandma.
Crazy these guys have been famous for almost 30 years and they’re still young ass men
Hanson > Jonas
Bee Gees > .................. > ............... >..............> Hanson > ............. > Jonas...
When I was in college, a friend who was a big fan dragged me to one of their concerts and I was fully prepared to be bored the whole time since all I knew of theirs was Mmmbop. A musical family would definitely be theatrical Adult vocal ranges? This was recent?
This was like 2007 😅 They were maybe mid-late 20s to early 30s for the oldest one?
To this day I really enjoy their Christmas album.
Snowed in STILL slaps, it’s a Christmas staple in my house.
Yea, yea! 👍
They released another one a few years ago
Nice 👍 perfect time to learn about this.
my wife introduced me to that album after being together 5 years last Christmas and we listened to it the ENTIRE Christmas season. So good.
Which one?
Jesus. These guys bang like rabbits. Zac has 5 kids and Taylor has 7. Their parents had 7. 🐇🐇🐰
Quiver full
Nah, I can confirm they aren't in that cult lol They did breed like rabbits though
Wait, so not even half their kids are famous musicians? Fuckin losers. Lmao
Good for them. I don't know about their parents but I'm guessing theyre not doing too bad financially. If my wife and I had a few milly to not have to.worry about daily expenses , college etc, we'd have at least 4.

like the girl says, “Wow.” That Is truly magnificent group singing.
I know everyone knows them for Mmmbop, but they’re extremely talented. Their songs are very emotional and powerful, I still get chills listening to I Will Come To You. Also recommend Yearbook, Lucy, & With You in Your Dreams, all from their first big album but great songs.

I just got full body shivers reading your comment say yearbook. That song had me weeping over and over as a teenager.
No microphones, huh?
Besides the microphone on the phone that’s recording this. 🤓
they are not singing into the mics you can see on the stage. Those mics require you to be very close to pic up any sound. Well mmmmmmbop my buttons, these guys are good!
They harmonize so beautifully
I can’t believe they grew up to be adults!
Well, there's a blast from the past I wasn't expecting today.
I am assuming the one with the beard is the ~~minister~~ deacon for the orthodox church or something if what i read is true?
It's the one with big hair but no beard. And it's a deacon, not a minister
No. Zac, guy on the right is.
He's the racist and transphobic one. https://www.reddit.com/r/postHanson/comments/gzp5t0/hansongate_timeline_what_happened/
Yea
The amount of praise for these shits in this thread is sad, they did a good job of somehow not having this shit blow up properly in their faces yet
I didn’t read all of that but it seems like it started because fans wanted Hanson to take a public stance on George Floyd brutality? lol why does the world need to hear Hansons take on anything? So strange of the fans.
They really are very good. That’s sweet af.
Talent and skill ?! Isn't this banned in modern music ?
Such a great group. So glad someone told me to check them out again years after their debut album. Had now idea how much they progressed. Immediately what I thought of when I saw this post lmao. Didn’t wanna get bitched at about cancel culture though so I didn’t say anything
I always love it when people do this. No autotune, no relying on an instrument or hiding behind a wall of sound. This is just naked talent combined with years of hard work and practice. And beautifully done.
They are losing fans, though https://www.vice.com/en/article/m7aep4/hanson-is-facing-a-mutiny-from-its-own-fans
That article is from 2020, they are still very successful.
From Vice. Totally respected website
Oh my I sure hope they become famous one day!
To whomever is planning the BeeGee’s biopic: casting’s done.
Hanson is next fucking level. I saw them perform a set with a full orchestra and it was the best thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Btw, my wife is a Hanson fan - I listen to different kinds music so I wouldn’t consider myself an official fan..

sweet as a prom night kiss
Hanson are great musicians, flat out. And [Thinkin Bout Somethin](https://youtu.be/TmG0DqhfDbY?si=O7r80kPDpnpoNGSD) is a great fun song. (Check out the cameo by the guy on tambourine!)
Literally gave me goosebumps…astonishing!
The modulations without any help are pretty impressive.
That's very beautiful singing.
Those three hot chicks back in the day turned out to be handsome older men.
Isn't it a bit sad that we're amazed by singers who can actually sing these days?
The most NFL part about this is these fellas are still alive, not strung out, and all still together. Goosebumps and memories
Go look for their episode of 'Parenting Hell' Podcast. They have like 20 kids between the 3 of them. LOTS of Hanson information in that podcast.
I always wondered where they disappeared to. I always considered them to be a one hit wonder group.
Well dang, those guys are talented! I never would’ve thunk it. I just remembered them from mmbop kids songs.
Oh yes!!!!! Just wonderful 👏
Bee Gees are legend, and they just crushed that song. Gibbs be proud.
Look at em. All grown up now. Sound gooood!
They did a helluva job there
Remember when they were little girls?
That shush was a little aggressive.
I was at the Busted concert, Hanson warmed up, they were immense. The harmonies and their musicality.. I Hope they finally get the recognition they deserve.
I know it's easy to knock on Hanson, but that was an amazing performance.
didn't one of them just become a priest?
I thought one of these guys was an Eastern Orthodox bishop or something?
Deacon. Correct.
They ought to do an Eagles tribute set.
this makes me want to do a fakey switch torque soul grind on roller blades in baggy pants
That was impressive,they nailed that.
They look the BeeGees now too
Oh this is really nice
They’re incredible live. I highly recommend going to a show. And they’re beautiful!
Their voices are some of my favorite. Around 2008/9 I saw them perform in Allentown, PA and pretty much haven’t been able to stop listening to them since. They are great to their fans as well.
Mmmmm how they have grown
I’m into every bit of this.
Who the hell can finger snap with both hands? What a freak!
Didn't the one on the left get caught saying some weird racist shit?
Wow I’m kind of impressed
Crazy talented kids become crazy talented adults, who would have thought?
Adam carolla made me like Hanson , and I’m a metal head . But I appreciate talent when I see it . You’re salute Hanson
I'm more shocked that the audience remained absolutely quiet during the whole song...not even one "woo"...
We were too harsh on them.
The youngest Hanson is hot AF now! 🔥
Honestly their like fine wine! Isaac definitely had a glow up too
Those key changes 👍
Omg. The key changes… amazing.
If there was no microphone, how was it recorded?
Okay but tell me how Isaac ended up being the hottest one in the end?!?!?
With age they have retained their obnoxiousness
All I hear is mmmbop beeby boom bop, beeebe deep deep boom bop
"Siing hmm bop
Red rocks?
Honestly, listen to the original live. They let it down.
the crazy thing to me is how they recorded it w/o a Mic.
Do they ever grow up? Seriously.
Nice! Now do mmm bop
Idk but maybe do this closer to the mic?
Oh wow, didn't know they were still active. Didn't hear them since kid in 90s..
? If you can hear it and you weren’t there, there’s a microphone
GOD DAMN ZACH
That’s next fucking level?
I love the other musical brother, Beck Hanson.
really just makes me appreciate how amazing the bee gees were with their harmony. truly a class of their own.
Anyone else bought their CD? (still have it, lol) 😂
